Accepted! Welcome to Hogwarts.
[ Full Character Name: ] Professor Rachel Kinsley
[ Character Gender: ] Female
[Character Age:] 28
[ Position: ] Astronomy Professor
[ Country of Citizenship: ] England
[ Physical Character Description: ]
Rachel is a particularly good looking girl. All her life, she has been attractive, but she is one of those lucky people that seems to look better as they get older. She stands at an average 5’7, which some do consider to be tall, but she does not, as that is basically the height of all her friends as well. She has a slim figure, due to her good diets, making sure that she had the right amount of each food group, so she doesn’t even risk putting on weight in which, Rachel wouldn’t exercise to get rid of. She’s naturally slim as well, and has quite a small build. Rachel isn’t athletic, nor strong, but she likes playing the odd game of quidditch.
The woman has long, naturally curly hair, in which tends to change from blonde to brown almost routinely. She likes it better blonde, but does not mind the darker colour, when she decides that it is time for a change. She sometimes straightens her hair, magically of course, but never really puts too much effort into her appearance. Rachel likes the way she looks, and is proud of it, well, most of the time anyways.
Rachel has bright blue eyes, that always seem to sparkle when they hit the right light. Position on the exact place on her face that they are meant to be, some find them entrancing, others find them irresistible. Only turning red when the woman succumbs to tears, when Rachel cries, the blue is accentuated even more, and the lighter colour of blue around the middle gives the illusion of clouds.
With red, plump lips, that many women inject things to imitate, Rachel’s can sometimes be described by perfect. Standing out against her white complexion, her lips surround a set of perfectly white, but slightly crooked teeth.
The twenty-eight year old has soft skin, which is helped immensely by the fact that she takes care of it. She isn’t the type to continually smother her face in makeup, but moisturizes daily. Helped by her creamy complexion, the woman has a few ‘beauty-spots’, positioned just under her lips, and on her cheeks.
[ Personality Character Description: ]
Being a Ravenclaw Alumni, Rachel is quite intelligent. Growing up, she was always one of the smartest, which sometimes made her get a bit mean. It wasn’t something she did on purpose, in fact, the sorting hat specifically said that she had traits of Hufflepuff and Gryffindor in her, but there was no sign of evil and horrible tendencies, which sometimes fit into the Slytherin character.
Even though the girl was teased by her fellow classmates, for being the ‘nerd’, or ‘geek’, she never let any thing get her down. It was like water off a ducks back to her, as there was no point letting people make fun of her, especially since she knew that it wasn’t true. Sure, she was smart, but she was naïve, and she did let people walk all over her, she never really stood up for herself, but ignored them.
Now that Rachel has grown up, she has kept a few of the tendencies that she bore when she was young. She is still incredibly naïve, letting men, and even other women sometimes get the better of her. She is still a quiet person, not wanting to speak up and get into trouble, even by her fellow adults. If she truly believes in something, of course, the girl will make her voice heard, but in everyday situations, Rachel will just go with whatever is decided for her.
Rachel basically hates anyone that puts her down. Now, in the adult world, there are less of these of course, but there are still the people that discriminate against her because she is not pureblood. Rachel is proud of the fact that she is a muggleborn, and finds it funny that she beat many of the other ‘clean blooded’, as it is referred to when people bag her out, students.
[ History: ]
When Rachel received her letter, she knew that it was the start of something new. She had always dreamed for Magical things, but she knew that there was no possible way for them to be true. It was just too weird, too abstract, and Rachel was usually teased by her brothers and sisters, when she used to pretend she was magical. In her family, as big as it was, there was no one that shared the same beliefs as the youngest, and they always made it abundantly clear.
Growing up as the baby of the family was always tough for Rachel. She was always considered the out cast, not by her parents, but by her siblings. Robbie, the eldest, was the only real one that used to pretend to be magic with her. Robbie is now 39, eleven years older than Rachel, and working as an electrician, who owns his own business. James, aged 37, now works as a teacher, at the local high-school. Raquel is aged 36, and plays in a jazz band, that performed all over the country. Jessica and Madison, both aged 34, are both journalists, though for different newspapers. Peter is aged 32, and works as a university lecturer. Rachel’s youngest sibling, Sarah, was probably the on that was the most mean to the youngest, even though Rachel looked up to her. Sara, aged 31, is three years older than the natural blonde, and boy did she make it clear. Now of course, they are the best of friends, Sara finally recognizing Rachel’s achievements.
When Rachel first went to Hogwarts, she was teased. Yeah, so everyone had experienced teasing and bullying, but Rachel never let it get her down. In her first year, she immediately took a liking to Astronomy, even though it made her get up in the middle of the night. She just loved the concept of constellations, and huge balls of gas, floating aimlessly up in the atmosphere. She loved the point that everything out there was massive, and although she could barely see them, they were millions of times bigger than her.
After both her O.W.Ls and her N.E.W.Ts were completed, the girl completed an astronomers course, teaching her how to map, correctly identify and explain her findings. Basically, it recapped what her astronomy professor had taught her the previous years. This took two years, and Rachel then left to work as a secretary for the Department of Law Enforcement, even though she had told herself that it was purely a fill in, until she could fulfill her dreams and become an astronomer.
When Rachel was 25, she met Noah. For him, it may have been love at first sight, but when she first saw him, the only thing she thought was arrogant and selfobsessed. Naturally, she turned him down, but after about twenty tries, the boy persuaded her. Admittedly, she may have only said yes to get him to stop asking her, but after their first date, it had blossomed into something, and there was a lot more to him than she thought.
By three months, Rachel was smackdown, red faced, head over heels in love with the older man. She couldn't stand not being around him, she couldn't stand not being with her better-half, her soul mate.
One year, to the exact day, later, Rachel was propsed to. She was so happy. It could not have happened in a nicer setting, on the boat in Venice. Rachel just couldn't say no, she was in love.
AFter then, the relationship got a bit rocky. There was a few things that Rachel didn't like talking about and this was one of them. Enough said.
After three years as a secretary, Rachel was given the opportunity to travel Europe, observing the night sky, and taking down her findings, to attribute to her friend Olympia Strzelecki’s new book, The Night Sky Around Us.. It was exciting for Rachel, and there was no way that she was going to turn it down.
After nine Months of Travelling, the book was finished, and Rachel returned back. She now knew what she wanted to do, and how she was going to fill her future with hope. Rachel found herself enrolling in a teaching course, something that she believed she’d be good at. After completing the course which took 15 months, Rachel read of a job vacancy at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, and put her name down for that too.
[ Pros and Cons : ]
Rachel is quite witty, and understands jokes almost as fast as she can tell them. She takes pride in her comedic personality, and grows closer to people that understand her jokes, and tell particularly good ones. She is just plainly attracted to people with a sense of humor, and is quite sure that that goes both ways.
The twenty-eight year old takes in information quite easily. She can listen to speeches and lectures, and at the end, repeat the main lines and subject of the speech, and that it another thing she takes pride in. The girl sometimes shows off this skill, which many can find irritating.
Rachel Kinsley is a caring, and loving person. It all really depends on whether she trusts you or not, as if there is no respect, nor trust in the relationship, she cannot really continue with it. She is really a hug person, and she loves everything to do with Romance, even when she has to initiate it herself.
Being a quiet girl, it is really hard for her to trust people. It takes a lot to with Rachel over, as she has had both her heart and her dignity broken by people that she thought she was quite close to. Usually, she isn’t the one to introduce herself, she tends to wait, until she is sure that the person only means good, and no harm what-so-ever.
Rachel is quite an emotional person. Sometimes this can be considered a perk of her personality, but the woman herself, hates it. The way that she always seems to cry, even when people cannot see what is so sad. Rachel cannot stand to see a fellow human being cry, and before long, she would have succumbed to tears.
The blonde really doesn’t care much for sport. Sometimes, you can catch her on a broom, flying around playing quidditch, but other than that, she isn’t a fan. Of course, she still needs to keep up her slim figure, which is why the girl is quite careful with what she eats, but still sometimes eats just that little bit too much.

Rachel pursed her lips. Why did the children have to go so wild? She couldn’t control them, they were just out of her hands. Okay, so they weren’t really hers, and she wasn’t really looking after them, but they were annoying her so much. The blonde was sitting on the train, just in front of three kids, with their mother, who seemed to be ignoring the three boys. Rachel felt like slapping her, and telling her to control her kids. But there was no chance of the girl doing that.
Rachel took out her Ipod and put the earphones into her ears. Playing straight on to a song by the beatles, (some considered Rachel to be living in the past, “Get some hip music.” A stranger once yelled at her whilst she was singing ‘Hey Jude’.), to live and let die, Rachel smiled, as it finally seemed to block out the sound of the three four year olds.
As one of the kids plucked her earphone out of her ear, and basically yelled ‘What are you doing, lady?’ Rachel sighed. Turning around, Rachel bit down on her tongue. ‘Excuse me, Ma’am, but can you please control your children?’ She said, giving the lady a polite smile. ‘Hey!’ The lady retorted. ‘I work six days a week. Every Sunday, I have to take my children to see their father, the last person I want to see. Don’t you dare tell me how to run my life.’ She scowled at Rachel.
Rachel turned back around, almost crying. ‘Look, Miss.’ She said, facing the lady once again. ‘I said nothing offensive, but I apologise, I know that life must be hard on you. Would you like me to entertain your children?’ Rachel offered, knowing that this may have been her only chance to get the lady to respect her. ‘Oh, If only the whole world were like you.’ She said. ‘Children, do you want to come and sit with this lady?’ She offered to her children.
Immediately, the kids got up and followed their mothers directions. Rachel smiled sweetly at each one. Pulling out a few pieces of paper and a packet of pencils, Rachel giggled, as one of them tried to steal the paper without her noticing. ‘Come on. We’re going to play a game.’ She said sweetly, taking the paper from the small boy. ‘Okay, can everybody write their names on the pieces of paper?’ She said, receiving an enthusiastic ‘Yes’, from each boy.
