4:30pm Day after HoM ---disaster---
Sitting in the common room at a table, Celina leaned her chin on the table and stared at the magic Egyptian dust pouch that Professor Griffiths had given her the day before. She just stared at it, wondering about all that had happened and sighed. What a day it had been, and at that moment, Celina didn't know how to react to any of it.
The man scared her with how quickly his temper turned, and with how she had no idea of what to do when her friends left her. Lifting her chin from the table, she continued just to stare at the baggie. She really was feeling nonchalant about the whole thing at the moment. She tried to tell herself that her friends didn’t leave her as it looked like they had, for she had just as much opportunity to get up and walk out with them. If the man had pulled any more stunts, she probably would have just out of plain fear…but really, Celina didn’t have the courage to. To her, the grades and the possible honor she received from them were far worth the cost of anything she would have had to go through. Not to mention, if her father had found out…
But, all in all, she wasn’t mad at her friends. A tad upset that things turned out the way they seemed to always turn out, and frustrated at more than just the fact that Drew, Felicity, and Connor all walked out. She was frustrated at the fact that the only option they saw was to walk out, instead of speaking politely to the professors about their own concerns. Even after the professor seemed to snap, Celina just knew that there had to be another way than that they had chosen. She was frustrated at the fact that they had all been picked as student heads at their school, for she saw what they did as abusing their power. What role models were they for younger students? For even her? And also, she was frustrated that they had so much more strength and guts than she had…it made Celina wonder about the definition of worth again. Was she even worthy?
Alfonz had made her feel better about the situation though, and was glad when he said that he'd go and speak with the professor himself. That had made her a bit nervous, however, knowing her brother as she did, but seeing her brother earlier that morning eased her nerves greatly. Apparently, the two men just talked and nothing happened. Thank Merlin, Celina thought to herself.
Earlier that day, during lunch she had gotten an owl. A small note, nothing too fancy, but the name at the bottom of the chicken scratch was one that Celina found herself involuntarily smiling at, at the Ravenclaw table. The owl was from Connor, asking her to meet him at the lake that evening.
She had a bit of time, and so she was leisurely looking and the pouch in the common room, thinking, and even wondering if she wanted to go. It wasn’t that she was upset with Connor himself, per say, rather the action in which he had taken during the History of Magic class. Celina wasn’t going to lie to herself and say that she didn’t somewhat expect it from Felicity and Drew, for they had all gotten into their fair share of trouble with Professors and such…but Connor was supposed to be….different? Celina didn’t know how, or why she thought that…maybe it was his calm demeanor towards her, or the smile that he had….his eyes…Celina shook her head and with her hands, played with her hair pulling it back as if she were going to put it up in a pony tail. Did she expect too much? It had been a question that she’d been asking herself since the day before.
She was shocked, frustrated, hurt, and just plain annoyed in some aspects…it was more than just what happened the day before in class…it was everything building up, that she kept deep inside of her….even from her best friend, Felicity. How could she tell the blond how much she loathed all of them getting Prefect…that was selfish, and Celina found that she hated herself for being so spiteful and harsh thinking…but…Celina was finding things difficult. And with every passing day, a little more hurt rose to the surface…and became harder to hold in within her.

It wasn't a good day for Ellie. The classes had gone all wrong, nothing made sense to her. And in spite of her attempts to stay calm about the quickly approaching O.W.L. exams, she was on the brink of a breakdown.
She couldn't quite understand how her brother could stay so calm in the face of something this big. It could decide their entire futures. She needed to breathe. Ellie normally tried not to stress the small things, but when it was something as large and scary as the O.W.L. exams, she couldn't stay calm. She needed a coarse of action, a plan to face down the beast. If only she could just figure it out... Ellie tied her hair up into a loose ponytail and changed quickly into a faded gray pair of skinny jeans and a light blue tank top. She needed to be relaxed if she was going to make a calendar for herself for the year.
Ellie rummaged through her things until she found some paper, markers, and scissors. The girl made her way down to the Ravenclaw Common Room, feeling a little more relaxed now that she had a plan of action and was actually putting it into actions. She started to calm down from her minor freak out, reassuring herself that she had nothing to worry about. Maybe Beau would let her made him a study calendar? She knew the odds of that were low, but it was a nice thought all the same.
She sat down indian style in front of one of the tables at the common room, hardly aware of another occupant sitting with her chin resting on the table. Ellie quickly tucked her hair behind her ears and set to work, making a small makeshift schedule for her studying times. Finally looking over to the other person, Ellie did a double take, embarassed that she hadn't noticed someone else already using the table.
" Oh, hi.. D'you want me to move? " She asked, indicating all of her stuff she had thrown down on the table moments ago.

(Sorry, didn't see the post >.<)
Celina closed her eyes. She heard another coming around and taking a seat at the table she was at without saying a word to her and the raven girl just sighed. Opening her eyes slightly, Celina was almost worried as to whom would be sitting there, but as she noticed who it was, she wasn't worried at all. It was a brunette that she didn't formally known, but had seen amongst the raven girls that year at one time or another. Lifting her head slightly, Celina looked over curiously at what the girl was doing. It looked as if she were coloring or something and Celina wanted to see what was going on. Yes, she was nosey, but she liked to call it curious all the same.
It was then that the girl had noticed her back, and Celina smiled, lightly blushing at her obvious intrusion. "Oh, no... It's all of our common room." Celina didn't mind if the girl sat at the table or had her stuff strewn all over. The only thing she had on her or even on the table rather was the dust in the pouch, so it wasn't as if she had had needed the space for herself or anything any ways.
Laying her chin back on the table, Celina sighed and smiled slightly thinking about her meeting with Connor. She knew it'd be alright, no matter what happened... and yet something in the back of her stomach was still telling her that she should skip the meeting all together. Celina didn't know why, but she tried to force the feelings away. "What are you working on?" Celina asked the girl sweetly to get her mind off of things. Anything was better than thinking about her meeting that night with Connor... the day before... how much she really had wanted prefect...
Head girl... that was her only shot left... but Celina didn't want to think about it.

( Oh, no problem ) The older girl's reassurance that Ellie wasn't intruding on anything was nice after a long day all gone wrong. It was good to hear she wasn't possibly bugging someone whom she didn't even really know all that well. " I'm Ellie, by the way. " She said with a light smile to the girl. She wondered what the girl was doing there, sitting all alone and just... well sitting. Ellie didn't really think it was in much of her place to ask, though, so she kept her mouth shut on the topic. She had to admit it to herself, though, the girl did look rather troubled. Ellie began to make a list of things she wanted to get done before the end of the year, thinking that might be the end of her conversation with the older girl. She jotted her list down on a piece of parchment, her pen scratching lightly against it as she wrote. 1) PASS THE O.W.L.s! This was written in big capital letters, as if it was a matter between life and death. She tipped her head to the side, thinking of a number two. Did there really need to be a number two? Sure, making new friends would be enjoyable... but she thought of that as more of a personal goal than a academic one. 2) Talk to Professors about future jobs. Number two was written with a lot less urgency than number one, as it should have been. Her future career was important of course, but passing the O.W.Ls would be the first step in reaching her other goals. If only she could make it until the end of the year... " Hm? Oh, just... planning. Goals, times for studying, that kinda thing. " She lifted her shoulders in a small shrug in a somewhat embarassed sort of way. Ellie didn't really think that anyone else was as obsessive with their school work, but then again, this girl was also in Ravenclaw. So perhaps she could relate? And maybe Ellie had an untapped resource sitting right in front of her? " What year are you in? " She asked suddenly, hoping the girl was a sixth year. Or a seventh year, really it didn't matter too much to Ellie. Maybe she had some things to tell her about the tests... Were they really as frightening as everyone said?

"Celina," the ravengirl said. "Celina Jedynak. It's nice to meet you Ellie," Celina smiled giving the girl a warm welcome to the table that she sat at. Her eyes traveled back to the bag of sand and she sighed contently. Ellie sat down and began to work on whatever it was that she was doing, and Celina continued to lay her chin where it lay, studying the bag of powder and thinking about an illusion she would want to make with it. What was the point in dust that made dreams seem real? Dreams as in thoughts... fantasies... made up images in one's head.
When Celina asked what it was that Ellie was doing, a few moments passed before the girl noticed Celina had said anything. It didn't bother Celina, for she figured that the girl was busy, so she just smiled all the same. "Goals for studying? That's excellent," she said encouragingly. "I do that as much as I possibly can..." her words trailed off as she sighed irritatedly, looking to the side as if she were thinking. "Though, I've been having more difficulty with staying with it lately... but" she shrugged, stopping her statements short. Her life would probably bore the girl.
"I'm in the sixth year," Celina said turning back towards the girl with her eyes and smiling. "How about you?" Celina asked in return.

Jedynak. The name was familiar to Ellie, and she was pretty sure that she knew the girl from somewhere. Jedynak.. Ah. Right. ' After a couple minutes of thinking about it, Ellie was finally able to remember where she knew Celina from. Well, didn't know her persay, but knew of her. Her brother, Alfonz played professional Quidditch, or at least he had before coming here to work. Ellie wondered why on earth he would choose to work at Hogwarts over travelling the work and being on a Professional Quidditch team. It would have been impolite to ask, so she held her tongue on that subject matter, only saying, " Oh, you too, Celina. " She said with a smile as she began to organize her markers by color and size.
The encouragement coming from the older girl was pleasing to hear for Ellie. She had spent the past few years being told by her brother that studying and spending so much time working was just a waste of time, so it was new to hear from someone who thought the same way about it. " I do that too sometimes. Get off track I mean. " She stopped talking for a few seconds as she began to fold paper for a calendar. It would be much easier that way.
" Always nice to get back on it, though. " She said with a small laugh as she brushed her bangs out of her eyes. " Fifth. Preparing for O.W.L.s... How on earth did you live through it? " Ellie asked of her as she began flattening out her paper and drawing lightly along the lines creased in the paper.

Celina gave the girl a pleasant smile as she watched her organize her things at the table, keeping everything orderly to make her calender. Taking the bag of dust from off the table, Celina put it in her pocket, wondering where she'd use such a corny bit of magic. It was all illusions and tricks in Celina's opinion and she could never see her self needing to use such a useless piece of equipment. But she kept it with her anyways, one never knew.
"Getting off track I think is the worst part..." Celina said softly, not wanting the girl to be discouraged if she did so. She wasn't saying not to have a life by any means, but it was hard to have a life and be social and still keep up the grades. Celina didn't know how Drew managed it, especially since he had to keep his grades up in order to become an auror. Celina shook her head internally and shrugged externally, her shoulders slightly raising. "But then again, who doesn't get off track once and a while with friends and such." Celina eyebrows furrowed as she remembered everything that had happened in the past year. It was hard, and frankly the Deva invasion only made things worse for her... but then again better for her friends.
Connor flashed into her mind just then as she thought about her meeting with him that evening. Was he just another distraction? Celina knew he was, but at the same time, needed to see him after what had happened. It was unlike any of her other friends to actually request a meeting with her about it. Sure they had asked her and made sure that she was ok, but it was different. Connor wanted to meet with her personally.... or at least that's what she thought the owl meant the meeting for... could there have been something more? Celina didn't know.
"Yea, that definitely is true. Getting back on track is probably the thing that will help you most." Nodding Celina listened to the girl and smirked softly as she asked of her how she had managed it. Celina didn't know, but at the same time felt as if she really hadn't. She wasn't Prefect, had only barely passed in her opinion, and in all, had so much drama where she almost thanked the Deva for coming and doing what they did... having no friends or contact for about two months really had helped her grades.... unfortunately, just not enough. "I really couldn't tell you," Ceilna shook her head. "But I hope you have a better time with it than I did..."

Ellie began to mark lines on the paper where she had folded it, keeping the lines nice and neat in black marker. Usually the younger Ravenclaw only worked well when she wasn't distracted by other people, but was surprising herself even. She kept her hands busy with writing even as she listened to Celina. She occassionally bobbed her head slightly in a short little nod, agreeing with the older girl's first statement completely. She didn't respond to it, though until after Celina had followed through with it by her next comment. " I think it is the worse thing, but then again that's what friends are there for. Or brothers, even. " She added, thinking of her own brother. " Well, my brother anyway. " She said, lifting her shoulders in a half hearted shrug.
' Getting back on track is probably the thing that will help you most, ' She turned to look at Celina once again, thinking she was probably right. After all, from the way the older girl was talking it sounded like she really did believe what she was saying. " You think so? " She asked anyway, wanting her to elaborate a little bit.
Ell felt a smile make its way across her slightly tired features. She shook her head just as she reached across the table for a blue pen. " I doubt it. I'm driving myself mad, here, studying and doing homework. No one else seems worried, but I am. " It was true, Ellie appeared to be the only one in her year so far that was already going mad over OWLs. Everytime she reflected on it, though, she knew she'd be a lot better off than some of the other students who were choosing to slack off until the last minute. It just wasn't an option for Ellie.

Celina nodded. "Yea, brother's just sometimes don't seem to understand some things." Alfonz then flashed into her mind. Yesterday, when she had gone to Alfonz, he'd understood her fears and such. He even went to talk to Griffiths, or so he told Celina he would. She was glad, but at the same time, Alfonz didn't understand things about her friends... her ways... Celina literally shook her head and tried her best not to think about it. "But... sometimes, it wasn't all that bad, I guess." Celina looked up at the younger girl and smiled a small smile. Celina was just like her the year before, and no one seemed to care. And then the Deva came....
...if it wasn't for them though, Celina knew she wouldn't have buckled down and focused as much as she did on her OWLs. They'd saved her grades.... the Deva saved her... why was it that those who hurt her the most, had actually benefited her? Alfonz would explain that that was because they were just like her. Believed in what her father had been preaching since they were young... they'd helped her in ways her friends had never been able to. Was her mother wrong about friends? Or had she just made the wrong connections, after all?
"Yes, getting back on track," Celina nodded, a small sympathetic smile was on her face, but her mind was at her own issues. Is that what she should have done? What about that night when Connor wanted to see her? Celina argued with herself about going or not, and even now, it was even more so. "Because, after all of this... it's only you who's going to have to deal with what kind of life you've made out for yourself. You're grades reflect where you go in life... you know?" Celina shrugged as her soft speech wasn't meant to frighten the girl more, but she was realizing truth. The Deva had helped her in an aspect her friends could not... how horrifying that was, Celina could hardly bare it....
"Well, do take some time to breath though," Celina said to the girl who was so worried. She probably didn't help that, and she felt horrible for not doing so. "I mean, you have time yet... I didn't have much time, because I was so distracted until like the last half of the year. Just don't put things off... and you'll do great. You're in Ravenclaw, after all," Celina smiled, though she wasn't sure how much that would actually help the younger raven.
