Ellie wasn't under the impression that it was possible to be awake at one in the morning for absolutely no reason. Usually if she was, there was a good reason behind it. Either she had some studying to do, a project to finish up, or there was someone to talk to. And yet, there she was sitting in the Ravenclaw common room at one in the morning, with absolutely nothing to do. Even the call of her books and studying wasn't strong enough to pull her away from the comfortable chair situated in front of the fireplace. As it was September it was absent of a fire, but that didn't much matter to Ellie. She was tired but knew she wouldn't be able to achieve sleep just yet, so she sat. It was extremely boring, but she didn't know what else to do. Occasionally she would think she had heard some sort of noise, either a person or animal creeping around. Usually she would just turn around and discover that it was just her active imagination playing up or something like that. The common room was completely empty, which was odd but then again not really as it was a Monday night and most had lessons right after breakfast in the morning. She burrowed herself deeper into the comfy chair and under her soft lavender colored blanket that her mother had made. She was dressed in light blue sweatpants and a plain black camisole and was still feeling a bit cold under the thick blanket. El thought she heard someone coming into the common room and turned her head, expecting to see nothing as she had the times before. This time though she caught sight of a fellow house mate. Jason opened the common room and tip toed in with a evil grin plastered all over his face. In his arms he held a large box of fireworks that he charmed to go off when a certain person or people walked by. The first years were gonna have a fun time with there first flying lesson in the morning Jason thought as he started to walk through the common room. he got about half way through the room when his eyes fell on Ellie. He froze when she saw him. "umm hey there Ellie..." Jason said with a look of shock still on his face. who the hell was up at 1 AM he thought to him self. The Jason rolled his eyes. He looked down at the box "O crap" he grumbled tossing the box behind the sofa. "that was... uhh"

As soon as the sixth year caught sight of Jason her brow raised in a curious manner. Fireworks? That could only mean one thing - trouble. Not that she minded trouble too much, a healthy dose was generally acceptable in most cases. She just wondered what the seventh year boy was up to. " Hey there Jason. " She mentioned with a slight smile on her face, clearly displaying her amusement at the boy's shock.
Her light blue eyes gave off a sense of humor as she watched Jason toss the box behind the sofa... " Very slick, I must admit... so what're the fireworks for? " She stressed the word fireworks just so he got the picture that she wasn't that dense to not have caught what it was he was carrying around. The idea to ask him why he was up at one in the morning also lingered, but she decided to hold off for a bit and first find out what all the fireworks business was about. It wasn't everyday that someone truly needed fireworks, but maybe Jason's case was an exception. She mentally shrugged herself and offered a small smile to the older boy.

Jason look over where he threw the box. He sighed with relief when none of them went off and woke the whole house. Jason looked back at Ellie and smiled "aww I'm sorry to hear that" He said before hopping over the back of the chair and landing in the seat. When she asked about the fireworks he grinned. "Well lets put it this way" Jason said laughing lightly. " the first years are gonna have on hell of a surprise when they do there flying lesson tomorrow" Jason said
Jason pulled out his wand and waved it at the table infront of him and a glass of water appeared. "So do you have a cold or just not feeling well?" Jason asked picking up the glass and taking a sip of the water.

Ellie's eyes also darted to where the box had landed. She imagined the commotion that would arise if the fireworks had gone off of their own accord. Jason and herself would probably end up hairless and charred. She giggled slightly at the thought although truthfully she would have been terrified if it had actually happened. Fortunately enough though the idea was just that, an idea. The girl rolled her eyes slightly at his explanation of the fireworks, but she finally submitted into laughter. She paused to collect herself before venturing to ask a question. " Wait... so you're planning on scaring the innocent little first years? " Sounded simple enough to her.
Ellie shrugged the blanket off of her shoulders as she was feeling a bit warm and looked back to the empty fireplace for a moment. " I'm not sure, really. " She propped her arm against the chair and leaned her chin against her hand as she looked back over to Jason. " Can't really sleep... what about you, are fireworks the only reason you're up this late? "

Jason Laughed "OOO yeah" He said setting his glass of water down on the table. His semi long hair, this weeks color fire red, was pulled back behind his head. He had on his normal black jeans and his black muscle shirt. He pulled his wand out again and pointed it at the fire place. A fire ball flew out and a small fire started. It didn't look like he was going to sleep anytime soon and his first class wasn't until noon.
Jason holstered his wand again then picked up his glass of water and took a sip of water. Jason shook his head, "No I finished up some homework earlier, then I got the idea to have some on with the firsties" Jason said with a evil grin.

Ellie settled back into the chair as she pulled her curly locks back into a ponytail while leaving her bangs swept gently off to the side. She played with the edges of the blanket in her lap, pulling at the hem of the fleece throw. She smiled a small smile at the boy, wondering if all he liked to do was cause trouble. She contained a giggle at the thought and looked back over to him as he explained his being out late. " How's being a seventh year, anyway? " she was curious because she didn't have very many older friends and all.
She imagined it would probably be rather stress filled, but seeing as how Jason was finding time to to locate fireworks for pranking the first years, maybe it wasn't too bad. Ellie's blue eyes caught sight of the new fire, her smile increasing just slightly in size.

Jason leaned back into his own chair. "It hasn't really hit me yet" Jason said looking at the fire "And I don't think it will until the final weeks of being here" Jason said putting his hands behind his head. "It seems like yesterday that moldy old hat yelling Ravenclaw when hit was put on my head" Jason continued "back then my hair was its natural color, didn't start the color of the week thing till my third year" Jason said with a grin. "So I cant really tell you how it feels Ellie, but what I can tell you is just enjoy every moment of your life, don't rush things"

Her eyes lit up slightly in the reflection of the fire as she looked upon it while listening to Jason talk about being being in Ravenclaw and graduating. It was a weird thought for all of the upperclassmen to be leaving them, but she knew it had to happen eventually. And next year she would be the one talking about leaving... She didn't like the thought.
She glanced up as he mentioned his hair color changing often and noticed the bright orange which she had somehow overlooked before. " Nice choice for this week, by the way... " She let out a small laugh, realizing that she hadn't immediately noticed because it was dimly lit in the Ravenclaw tower. She took his words into consideration, though, and nodded her head. " That's for sure... It's odd, though, how fast time seems to go by. "

Jason smiled again, He had almost forgot it was his seventh year, his last year at Hogwarts as a student. The question was when he was done with school. There was the option his dad gave him go into professional dueling, the path he wanted to take and go into the autor academy, or take is uncle up on the crab boat offer. Jason looked at his glass of water on the table. "you know what" he said standing up and walking over to a picture on the wall. "water just aint cutting it" He grabbed it and took it off the wall. behind it was a rather large hole. He reached inside and pulled out two butter beers that he had hidden in it. he put the picture back on the wall and walked back over to his chair and sat down. He looked over at Ellie "you didn't see that" he said with a grin tossing one of the butter beers to her
