"But what are Australian Legos?" Jeremy asked, still confused. "I thought they all came from Denmark." He thought it was kind of nice Hannah got him a present and all, but he still didn't understand what made her Legos different.
Her apology caught him off guard and he stopped unwrapping to give her a funny look. "Leave me? That's okay I guess. I mean, Raynor said you had to, right?" It had bothered him that she had left, given she was one of the few people he actually trusted, but it hadn't bugged him enough for her to have to apologize for it.

"Yeah, she said we had to. I still feel bad for leaving you there when I could have said no. But I probably would have been made to go anyhow. To tell you the truth, I would've preferred it if I did stay with you and Hiro" Hannah quietly said, and that was the truth, she thought as she still looked up at Jeremy. All through the time she had spent with the other group, her only thought was that she wanted to go back and be with Jeremy and Hiro, even if Robert Shaw was there.
"Well, we have Bionicle's, Duplo thingy's, lego's you can make Race car's out of it... I guess there really isn't that much difference, when I think about it. I just hope my Dad didn't get you that girlie lego" Hannah said with a small smile. The girl would die of embarrassment if that really did happen. "I just... wanted you to know that I didn't want to leave you" Hannah clarified for Jeremy in the end. That was harder to say than 'Will you be my Valentine?' and Hannah still thought it wasn't the right time for saying that.

Jeremy listened as she spoke, not sure how to respond. He would have done anything to be allowed to leave, especially with Drew. He trusted Hiro, but it wasn't the same at all and while Hiro had watched out for him, Jeremy would have felt safer with his cousin.
The talk of Legos diverted his attention and he listened, thinking there really wasn't anything different. In fact, the Bionicle set he opened looked just like the other Bionicles he already owned. "This is really cool...I don't have this set..." he said in a low voice, still surprised at the present. "You didn't have to get me anything though." He was really starting to feel like he should have gotten her a present too.

Hannah sighed in relief when she saw it wasn't girlie lego that her Dad had bought. The first year would have been mortified if it had been, but she should've known her Dad wouldn't have let her down, he never had in the past. "It kinda looks like you could make a tower out of it" Hannah remarked, thinking the picture on the box really did look like a Tower of some sort. The young girl would have to send a thank you note to her Dad later on and thank him for choosing that type of lego.
"Maybe we could make it together?" Hannah suggested, shifting just a little closer to Jeremy. the tower thingy looked cool to make and Hannah didn't mind playing with lego, when she had been living at home, she had built many a lego city with her younger brother's.
"Valentine's Day isn't my favorite of holidays, but I thought... you know, I could share it with you, that's why I wanted to get you a present" Hannah finished, feeling confused and she was most likely confusing Jeremy as well. " I mean, only if you wanted to share Valentine's Day with me... " Hannah trailed off, eyes now peering up at the star screwed ceiling once again. It was a roundabout way to ask a question, but at least she had finally gotten around to asking it.

Jeremy was a little surprised, first of all that she wanted to build it with him and second because she wanted to share Velentine's day with him. He wasn't sure what the second part meant, but he thought the first part might be kind of neat. He didn't know many girls who liked Bionicles.
"I... yeah, I guess so..." he answered with a shrug, not sure what else to say.

Brown eyes looking back down from the star strewn ceiling, Hannah looked at Jeremy, confused. Did he mean that yes, she could build the lego with him, or yes, he did want to be her Valentine? Maybe it was just her fault for asking too many questions in one paragraph and now she had to figure out what he actually meant. Why were boys so confusing?
"I don't understand... " Hannah started off slowly, screwing up her nose and making a face at Jeremy. "Do you mean yes, we could make the lego together, or yes, you'll be my Valentine?" Hannah asked again, not really wanting to ask that Valentine question again, but if she wanted to understand, she needed to ask that question. Even though Hannah really didn't think that Jeremy would say yes to being her Valentine, she really didn't think that he actually liked her like she liked him, considering he was always yelling at her.

The Lego part had been easy considering Jeremy didn't mind if she wanted to help him build it-- just as long as she didn't do something stupid like try to turn it pink or insist on making it a silly flower shop instead of a Bionicle fortress.
The Valentine part of the question was a little bit harder. He wasn't sure what saying yes to that meant, but for some reason, didn't think he'd mind so much as long as it didn't involve any kissing.
"Both I guess," he answered with another nervous shrug, wondering if now he really hd to get her a present. He'd have to ask Drew later.

Well, it wasn't a yes and it wasn't a no, but it was a 'I guess' and Hannah guessed that that was probably the best answer that she could hope for. At least he didn't say no. Hannah would've been mortified if had said no and would've felt just the littlest bit awkward around him for the rest of year if he had said no. Not that she was feeling awkward around him at the moment. Awkward in a giddy, not sure what she should do now feeling.
What should she do now? Normally, Hannah had no problem thinking things, but for some reason she wasn't thinking anything much at that moment. Except that Jeremy said yes and not no. Okay, so maybe yes to making the lego and being her Valentine as well, but it was a yes and not a no. "That... that's great!" Hannah exclaimed and then groaned at her answer, feeling the heat of a blush creeping up on her cheeks.
Great? all she could come up with from the answer she had been waiting for was great? How stupid was that? " I mean... you really do want to be my valentine?" Hannah asked again, still not sure if Jeremy really had meant it or not; considering that Hannah really didn't think that Jeremy did like her in that way. That thought alone was doing crazy things in her head.

The way she said it the second... actually a third time, made Jeremy a little uneasy. Well, it didn't matter. If she tried to kiss him, he'd have to hit her, no matter what everyone said about slugging girls. He always thought that was a stupid rule anyway, especially since there wasn't a rule about girls not hitting boys.
"I... I guess so..." Jeremy answered, just wishing she had stuck with the Legos and forgotten about the Valentine part.

Finally, Hannah could think properly again. The girl was thinking that the guess so from Jeremy was a yes and not a no, so she guessed that she shouldn't be asking that question anymore and start doing something else. Inching closer on the couch towards Jeremy, she figured the only thing that was natural for her to do was to give him a hug, which was what she did do.
Wrapping her arms around Jeremy's waist, careful not to knock the lego out of his hands, Hannah gave him a big squeeze. It was great that he had said he would be her Valentine and Hannah couldn't really find a better way to thank him than to give him a hug. Sure, she could've said thank you, but that sounded a bit weird, whoever said thank you for being someone's Valentine? A hug was a much better way.

Jeremy flinched when she lunged at him, not sure if she was going to hit him or kiss him at that moment. Fortunately, it was just a hug and while that made him a little uncomfortable too, he relaxed a little. He almost complained to her to stop it, but then he realized he didn't really want her to stop it. It wasn't as bad as all that.
"I can't breathe," he finally told her with an exagerated groan, the awkwardness he felt finally getting the upperhand over that warm tingley feeling he got.

Okay, so maybe Hannah was actually a little bit over exuberant in giving a hug to Jeremy, it was just that she was a little bit over excited that he said he wanted to be her Valentine, that alone was doing even more crazier things to the thoughts inside her head and she really didn't know what to make of it all. Did that mean that Jeremy liked her like she liked him? Hannah really didn't know what to think of that, but only because she didn't want to ruin the friendship for what it was.
Hannah reluctantly let go, but stayed close to Jeremy, giving him one of her thousand watt smiles. "I'm sorry, I guess I'm just a little excited that you said yes" The blond first year told him, still grinning at him, widely, she had also decided that Valentine's Day really wasn't that bad of day, after all.

"It's just Legos," Jeremy answered, trying to ignore the whole Valentine part of the conversation. Of course, Jeremy didn't want Hannah to think he didn't like her present and he realized how that might have sounded. He really did want her to help him build it after all. "They are really cool Legos though."
He opened the package and dumped the contents onto the table, deciding to sort the pieces before reading the directions.

"Yeah, they are pretty cool lego's... but I meant that I was excited that you said yes to being my Valentine... " Hannah trailed off quietly, her excitement gone down just a notch or two. Again, Hannah was confused, the girl just didn't get it, she had thought that Jeremy liked her like she liked him, but maybe she had been wrong and read too much into the guess so answer. Maybe Jeremy really just meant guess so to the lego's and not to the Valentine part.
"I'll let my Dad know you liked them" Hannah told Jeremy, her tone coming off a bit short. No, she wasn't mad, just a little disappointed and confused. Then again, it was all her fault, she had read into the guess so answer too much and now she just didn't know what to think. Though, she did know one thing and that was that Valentine's Day wasn't a good day, it was a sucky day, much like she had all ready thought of it in the first place.

Jeremy did like Hannah, but he just wasn't sure he wanted her to know that he liked her. If that got out, people would start thinking that he was a kissy-boy like that Gryffindor in their class.
"But you told him to get them for me, huh," Jeremy told her, wanting to make it clear that he understood her part in the whole present thing. He still didn't think he deserved it and really didn't want her to think he just liked her for presents.
"You want to put together this part first?" he asked, showing her the directions and pointing to a complicated section.
