"Sorrysorrysorrysorry..." Drew said quickly as he blew on her hand. Why it took the pain away, he wasn't sure, but everytime his mom did it, it worked. When he was comfortable enough to proceed, he bit at his lip and used the tweezers to carefully pull out the pieces of glass. He took his time, knowing it probably hurt more, but wanting to make sure he got it all. "Sorrysorrysorrysorry..." he whispered everytime she flinched.

Arianna turned her head away and squeezed her eyes shut. She made a funny wimpering noise as Drew pulled each piece out of her hand. She even got that sick feeling in her stomach that usually hits you when your body goes into shock. The sooner this was over, the better.

"Sorrysorry sorry... almost done," Drew whispered as he got the last few pieces out. He pressed a gauze pad onto it to help with the bleeding as he got out the other two potions from his kit. The Bactine he had used first was just to get the baskics out of the way, but the magical potion would cleaan out the last little bits from the cut. "This doesn't sting as much," he promised, looking her in the eyes to make sure she was ready for it.

Arianna opened her eyes and peered down at her hand. She couldn't see anything with the gauze in the way, and while it still hurt, it was better than before.
"But it still stings, right?" she asked about the potion, scrunching her nose slightly. "I guess it would be silly to ask you to be careful, then."

"I'll try," Drew answered, carefully lifting the gauze and pouring a little of the potion on her cut. He new from experience that it did sting, but nowhere near as badly as the muggle potion did. Still, he blew on it to take away the pain.

Arianna bit her lip, waiting for the tingling to smart. After the other stuff, though, this was nothing. The blowing did help, though.
"Is that....is that it?" she asked hopefully, glancing up at Drew. Slap a bandage on there and she should be fine, right?

"Healing potion," Drew answered, grabbing the last bottle. His mom had put the first aid kit together especially for him and he was well practiced in using it. "It's a pretty weak one so it won't work instantaniously or anything, but it'll get things moving faster than not using it at all," he told her.

"That's okay," Arianna claimed, ready for whatever pain this potion might cause. They usually didn't but it was a natural reaction after the first two solutions. "I don't want to go to the Hospital Wing this late at night anyway. She might ask what I was doing up so late."

"What were you doing up?" Drew asked as he carefully applied the potion. He had a pretty good idea what was behind her wakefulness, but if nothing else, it would keep her mind off of what he was doing.

"Bad dream," Arianna replied with a small nod. She winced when Drew hit a sore spot on her hand, but said nothing about it. "I thought I could just sit down here and read for a bit, but then Juniper....if I find whatever spooked him, I'm going to...to..."
She shook her head. If she got her hands on that silly creature, Arianna knew she wouldn't be able to kill it. Not on purpose, anyway.

Drew smiled at her story, mumbling an apology when she winced, but sticking to what he was doing. "Cats just go nuts sometimes is all," he said as he placed a piece of gauze on the cut and taped it securely in place.

"I always wanted a dog instead," Arianna commented, shaking her head slightly. She'd never had a place to keep a dog before, but now that she did the girl found herself attached to the one creature she never thought she would ever be able to tolerate.
"Are you done yet?" grinning, the girl peered over at her hand and watched as Drew taped it up. Her hand was feeling better already.

"All done," he told her with a wide grin, grabbing a marker off of the table nearby and drawing a quick happy face on the bandage before releasing her hand. He carefully repacked his kit and snapped it closed. "Okay?" he asked, knowing it would take a while to heal, but wanting to know if it was at least a little better.

Arianna smiled down at the little smily face and quickly nodded her head. It reminded her of when Drew had broken his arm and she had spent lengths of time drawing pretty pictures on his cast.
"Much, much better," she replied before reaching her arm over Drew's shoulder to give him a one-armed hug. "Thank you."

"No problem," he answered, giving her another grin and a shrug. "Just don't go scaring any more cats late at night, okay?" He put his own arm around her and sat back in the sofa with a happy sigh. "So what's with the nightmare?" he asked. He had been having his own as well, of course, but they didn't seem that important.
