Arianna leaned back against Drew's arm and let out a sigh. Again she felt as though she should be over the whole thing; like she should be moving on like the rest of the school was doing, but she couldn't. And the fact that everyone seemed to go on as though nothing happened bothered her the most. She was just glad she had Drew back. How she'd get through all this without him, she didn't know.
"It's just...." Arianna took in a deep breath. She could see the images again and wished nothing more than for them to go away. "I keep reliving that whole day. Only....it was different this time. Worse..."

Drew nodded, understanding what she was talking about. He pulled her closer and gave a deep sigh. "I see it during the day sometimes too," he said. "But at night, it seems worse."

Arianna bit her lip and nodded her head jerkily. She didn't think Drew could know what she was feeling; didn't think he could feel it, either. Not only did she relive the sight of them finding the woman's dead body, but she also heard the voices over and over. She didn't know if she could tell him all this, though.

"It'll get better," Drew told her, but he was trying to convince himself as well. There was something she wasn't telling him... he could tell, but he wasn't sure if he should push it... or if he really wanted to.

Arianna tried to talk again, but she couldn't get much more than a small noise out. She could feel tears welling up in her eyes, silly as it was. In all honesty, the girl was suddenly scared. Partially for herself, but mostly for her friends. It was those stupid dreams, she knew, but that didn't keep her from worrying that they might come true.

He felt the tension build up in her and the tears made him panic slightly. "Nononono..." he whispered as if it would stop the flow. He held her tighter and rocked slightly. "It'll be okay... It's going to be okay." They were empty words, but they were the best he could do this late at night.

Arianna squeezed her eyes tight and took in a deep, shaky breath. It, combined with the comfort given by Drew, helped her calm herself a bit. At least she wasn't bawling yet.
"I don't want anything to happen to you," the girl muttered when she could speak again. "Or 'Legra, or Che, or Krissy....It'll be my fault if they do anything to any of you."

"Nothing's going to happen to us," Drew assured her, wiping at her tears with the palm of his hand. "Nothing's going to happen and it wouldn't be your fault if it did. You didn't do any of this."

Arianna knew Drew was right. She knew it was silly to even think it was her fault, but she couldn't help the words that spilled out of her mouth.
"But it is," she insisted in a quiet, cracking voice. Of course, this was all brought on by her dreams, but Arianna found herself unable to tell what had been real and what wasn't. "They said they would do something bad if I told, but I already did tell everything I know."

Drew paused, a little confused and a lot concerned. He knew Ari had been in the Shrieking Shack while the murder had happened, but he had been pretty sure she had stayed hidden. "You... you mean in your dream, right?" he asked.

"I...maybe?" Arianna hesitated in answering. Her dreams had been so real, she wasn't even sure what was what anymore. She reached a hand up to her face and wiped away the few tears that had escaped, still feeling silly for needing to cry in the first place.

"You were in the cupboard that day," Drew said softly, partially ofr her comfort and partially out of his own fear and worry. "You told me you were in the cupboard and you didn't come out, remember?"

"Yeah..." Arianna nodded slowly. She remembered that part, but only vaguely as thought it had been the dream. "I...I hid, but....I...."
The girl pressed her hand onto her forehead. It was way too late to be thinking of these things, but she would probably forget it all by morning. Then she would have the nightmares again and possibly relive it all for a long time to come.

"You what?" Drew asked, getting slightly more worried she had kept more of the story from him. If she had been seen, she would be in danger. Then again, if she had been seen, she probably wouldnl't have been left alive in the first place. It was small comfort but it was something.

"I hid.." Arianna repeated, her confusion clear in her voice. "I stayed quiet, but they came and....and they found me....dragged me into that room. I saw Che lying there on the floor....They said they would do the same to everyone else if I told. But I've already told..."
