Charon had nearly finished packing all his stuff. All he had left was a practice pad and a few pairs of drumsticks. He also had the odd sock or two that were missing their mates, but socks were easy to come by. His collection had inexplicably enlarged itself during his time at Hogwarts, so he wasn't overly worried about missing a couple.
As he crammed everything into a trunk, he thought about his plans for the summer. His seventeenth birthday would come in early June, and then he would (hopefully) pass his apparation test. After that he hoped to get out of the house for a few weeks. There was no way he could possibly spend an entire summer with his parents. With any luck he'd be able to get to the streets of Edinburgh and terrorize some of his old gangs. When he thought of the things he could do to them, an evil grin spread across his face and he almost felt sorry for them. Almost.

Drew stormed up the staircase and promptly dove under his bed. He had been hoping his wand would have turned up in the packing process, but no dice. All he found were some half-eaten apple cores, a broken skateboard wheel, and a few mismatched socks. These last he pulled out and held them up. "I hear one of the house elves has a sock fetish. I'm starting to believe it," he announced.

Charon looked up and turned. He'd heard Drew come up but hadn't paid any attention until the other boyi said something. "That's entirely possible," he said, "or it could be someone else stealing the socks. I seem to have gained a few pairs over the school year, and I have no idea whose socks they once were." Of course, it couldn't truthfully be said that he had tried very hard to find the owner or owners of the socks, but he felt that little detail could be ignored for now.
"You missing something?" he asked Drew, who had the look of someone searching franticcally for a needed item.

"I still can't find my wand," he answered, sitting up on his knees and scratching the back of his head. "I've been using my spare for weeks now. I was sure t would turn up after everyone finished packing." He seriously couldn't understand how it had gotten lost. And it wasn't like anyone would steal it. After all, everyone had their own and besides, his wouldn't work as well even if they had.

"Odd, that. I haven't been able to find my wand either," Charon replied. the bloody thing couldn't possibly have wandered off, but he knew better than to misplace it. He never misplaced important things like that. Especially not when he knew he'd put it someplace before going to bed and found it missing when he woke. The only thing he could think of was that someone had stolen it, but why they would he didn't know.
"D'you think our wands up and left together?" he asked with an odd grin on his face. His question was meant to indicate his thought that the wands were in the same place, but he hadn't worded it well at all.

"Like eloped?" Drew asked, snorting back a laugh. He crawled over and swiped under his bedside table, though he knew it wasn't under there either. He had checked there the morning it had gone missing. "We'll end up finding a bunch of baby wands running around the common room I guess."

Charon grimaced at the thought. It had put images that he did not need into his mind. "Gives a whole new meaning to 'magic wood', but that's not what I meant," he said. "I meant something more along the lines of them being in the same place, or in the posession of the same person." Maybe he had left the stupid thing lying around and thought that he hadn't. It wouldn't be the first time he'd done one thing and remembered another. "Maybe someone found the wands and never found the owners," he suggested. He didn't really think it was what had happened, but if it wasn't that, it meant that the wands were either stolen or that both he and Drew had lost one of the most important things they owned.

Drwe snorted a short laugh at the magic wood comment, but stayed focused on the missing wands. "It would be easy enough to figure out who a lost wand belongs to though," Drew told him, looking around helplessly. There was really no where else to search for the dang thing.

"So if someone has it, it's because they want to," Charon said. "Wonderful. That means some bugger's out there stealing random wands for no apparant reason." He did not like the thought of that one. He really couldn't think of a good reason that someone would want his wand, or even a bad one, for that matter. He still didn't discount the thought that he'd misplaced his wand, but that seemed less likely than someone stealing it.

Meanwhile, Drew was taking the opposite perspective. There was just no logical reason he could think of for taking someone's wand... not when everyone in the school had one of their own.
That was, everyone except for the people who had lost theirs...
"So, what have you been using if you don't have your wand?" Drew asked, stopping his random searching to look at the older boy.

"I don't have classes where I need to use my wand," Charon replied. It was true. Herbology and Muggle Studies had yet to call for any sort of wandwork. "And I'm well enough used to the muggle way of doing things that the loss of my wand hasn't crippled me," he added. But it was still very annoying to not have the thing. He would likely have to buy a new one over the summer.

Well, there blew that theory.
He sat on his bed and shook his head. "My dad's gong to kill me," he grumbled. He was pretty sure he could hide the situation from his parents for a while, but eventually, it would come out and then, he'd be dead.
