Nothing to Procrastinate for just yet

Having finally unpacked all her belongings, Layla had sat on her bed and realized that there wasn't anything to do other than just goof around until classes started. Well, alright then. She took her backpack and took it to the common room. She hadn't opened it since she left the muggle world and she was sure she'd find something she'd put there ages ago if she found the common room empty.

She plopped herself on one side of the couch and leaned on the armrest, tucking her legs underneath. She opened her backpack and dumped everything out in front of her.

Walking into the common room, back from a stroll around the school grounds, Dante couldn't help but see the girl empty her bag. Something inside of him twisted in pain at observing said action. Why create that mess? Why would anyone have so much random stuff packed anyhow?

Feeling nothing but curiosity he walked over to the brunette, his eyes fixed on the small pile of things right in front of her.

"Do all the items hold any relation between them or where they together in the backpack out of share luck?" he asked showing only half the interest over the subject than he really did.

Roxy came from wondering the corridors and floors. She found alot of interesting things in them. She looked at the two Ravens. She never met any of them before. Roxy walked over to them. "Hi, I'm Roxy..."Roxy said as she smiled at the two. She never met them before, or never saw them in the common room until now. Curiousity overswept her. "Ooh. What's that?"Roxy pointed out. She looked like she was the youngest out of the boy and the girl. Roxy grinned mischievously.

Layla stared intently as she search for one particular item out of her not-so-small pile of things on the sofa. She plucked out a few knuts she spotted and set them aside to make sure she put them in a safer place. She looked up to see Dante had at some point gotten closer and apparently curious as to her assortment of random things. She looked up and grinned. "I usually have a place for things," she started explaining, "But when there's no place for them, they go in here."

Just as she was explaining her collection to Dante, another Ravenclaw joined them. "Hi, Roxy. I'm Layla." She looked down at what the girl was looking at, but wasn't sure what she was refering to."Which one?"

Roxy looked at the objects with interest. "That one, right there."Roxy said as she picked up the circular thing. "It's nice to meet you Layla." She grinned. Roxy handed her the circular object. It was very strange looking to Roxy, but some things were, that she'd never seen before.

"Likewise" She picked up what the girl had been pointing at and turned it over. "It's a... bottle cap?" She wasn't sure why she had a bottle cap, but decided that this was probably a good time to throw some stuff out. "Oh! You guys gotta see this."

She plucked through a particular spot of her pile as if she knew exactly where everything was and picked up a small object. It was in the shape of an elipse and was completely black on one side and a deep blood red on the other. But when Layla held it in her hand, the black side turned a royal blue and the red side turned into a bright green. "I found it in Spain right before I transfered to Hogwarts."She held it out for one of them to hold. "It changes colors every time someone else holds it. It's always green and blue with me."

((Terribly sorry for taking so long to reply. My Dante-muse has disliked me lately for some odd reason.))

"And I'm Dante," he said to the girl who joined him in observing Layla and her enormous stash of a bit of everything. A weak smile was offered to her, yet a smile at last.

He listened intently to the fellow ravenclaw as she told them about this particular item. Though, for the entire time, instead of looking at the narrator he stared directly at the elliptical object. It was rather fascinating.

"Do you know if it means something or why it changes colors?" he asked as his hand reached out and took the offered item in his.

The blue tint it had acquired at Layla's touch still remained, only turning in a paler tone. The green, on the other hand, disappeared completely. A cream sort of yellow instantly replaced it. What this meant he had no idea and neither did his writer ().

Layla grinned as the small stone-looking object changed colors at someone else's touch as she had expected. She shrugged at the boys's question. "I really don't know. Before I moved to the UK, one of my Professors had told me about a place in Spain where magical folk shopped. Sort of like Diagon Alley, but much smaller. I found it on the ground outside a shop."

She tilted her head at the blue side, it had barely changed at all from her own chade of blue. It probably mean something, but she'd had no idea what.
