Standing just outside the door, Arianna listen to the slow rhythmic breathing, punctuated by a snore or two, that indicated that the occupants inside were sound asleep. She had sent Juni, who was now nearly and adult kitty, inside moments before, along with her small owl Snip, to take care of a very important task.
"No, no," Arianna hurriedly whispered to Juni as he dragged a large shoe toward her. The cat blinked and tipped his face to the side. "It's close, but we want one like this."
The girl reached into the bag at her side, producing another shoe. A right shoe, that is, and pointed out the differences between it and the left shoe Juni had retrieved. Juni seemed to understand and hurried off to try again, leaving Arianna to nudge the unwanted shoe out of the doorway. She was happy to see both creatures return seconds later, one after the other, with the proper shoe, then hurry back into the room for more. This was much better than risking the traps, which would certainly go off if Arianna had wandered inside. Cat and owl seemed to be enjoying it, too. They were certainly quieter than she could ever be.
Fifteen minutes later and Arianna's bag was stuffed fuller and weighing three times more than it had been before. Arianna smiled at the task well done and offered her pets more treats than they usually saw in a week.
Hefting the pack on her shoulders, the girl hurried down the stairs and out of the common room, Juni at her heels and Snip perched on her shoulder. Their adventures for the night were not yet complete.
{Things to note: Arianna has stolen every Ravenclaw's (boys and girls) RIGHT shoe. I shall post the link to the reason why soon enough. Have fun ;D Oh....she's also left the building.}
