"Huh?" Drew asked, yanked out of his thoughts. He looked over at her and swallowed hard before nodding back.

Lily was quiet for a bit. "Sickle for your thoughts?" She asked. "You look like you're pretty deep in them." She wasn't going to ask him if he was alright again. No she had learned her lesson. She may never ask Drew if he was alright again. Well, she knew she would ask him eventually.

Drew shook his head and shrugged. It's not that he didn't want to tell her... or Ari for that matter... it was just that he didn't think they'd really care. What would be the point if all he got in return for it was some false sympathy. No... it was better that he just dealt with it himself.
"I'm okay," he answered her. "It's not anything really."

"Alright Drew," Lily said. "But I'm always here and I know how to listen good. Not saying you have to talk to me or anything, but just that I'm here." She looked up at him. She knew something was definately bothering him. She could tell by that look on his face. But if he didn't want to talk about it she would accept that.

Drew bit his lip and nodded back. It wasn't that he didn't believe Lily at the moment... he was just trying to figure out how she had gone from 'I hate your guts' to 'I'm here for you' in a matter of minutes.

Lily was quiet for a bit just looking into the fire and thinking. She really screwed things up some times. "We still gonna celebrate tomorrow?" She asked quietly.

Drew nodded back slowly. "If you want to," he answered her, adding a shrug. He wasn't sure what to belive anymore and had lost the enthusiasm for partying that night. "What did you wan to do?"

"I'm not sure," Lily said, thinking about it for a moment. "Nothing to big or to fancy, just something simple. I just want to do something fun with someone I care about who cares about me. Or at least I think cares about me. I think that's why we fight a lot. You know what's best for me and I'm too stubborn to admit you're right."

Drew frowned back at her. "I don't always know what's best," he answered, not really wanting that kind of responsibility.

"It seems like you do Drew," Lily said. "I really look up to you and respect you a lot. I just . . . you're just," She didn't know how exactly to say it without sounding to much like she was falling in love with him. And no that couldn't happen because she didn't want to screw things up so badly again.

"I'm just what?" Drew asked, his frown deepening. Whatever she was getting at seemed like a lot of responsibility to him... responsibility he didn't really want. "I don't know everything... I don't know anything..."

"Never mind," Lily said, prefering to stare into the fire. She didn't want him mad at her again. She didn't want another fight. She hated always feeling like she was fighting with him. He was truely the only person she had left in the world, but she couldn't tell him that. Maybe it was better when she had run away. She could take care of herself. She would do it again.

"I'm just what?" he tried again, not about to let her brush it off now that she threw it out there. He figured he might not want to hear it, but kind of had a feeling he should hear it.

Lily knew he wasn't going to let her get away with it. Oh her and her big mouth. "You're just," Lily started again. "You're all . . . You're just . . . " This was a lot more difficult than she had though. "You'retheonlypersonIhaveleftandI'mafraidoflosingyoutoo." She ran it all together. That was easier than saying it more understandably.

"You aren't going to lose me," he answered her with a frown and wondering again if he was a sucker for sticking with these girls who went off on how awful he was all the time. If anything would prove that he was going to stay, that one little fact should have convinced them ages ago. "I told you that I'm not leaving."
Sometimes he wondered if the girls made him angry as a test- see how far they could push him before he actually WOULD leave. It wasn't a very pleasant thought.
