"This is some party eh? Quite happy that we're having it. I have yet to meet many of our house mates."
"Can't say I disagree with you." said Henry, to spite his desire to do well in school, even the most obsessed students needed to unwind from time to time. "A party is long overdue."
Henry looked around at the room. He could remember every name, every detail about his classmates from Salem, and that was almost four years past. Now he looked around, he found himself peering into faces he did not know. In over three years, he had barely conversed with any of them. He had concentrated on his work, and ignored those around him. Now he thought on it...he found it a weakness, every one of them could know his name, they could know rumors of him; They could have him at quite the disadvantage. Banishing this paranoid thought, he thought that perhaps today might be a good day to change all that.
"I can't say I know a single one of them." said Henry "I haven't really tried to get to know them though."
This admission was so severe that Henry found himself replacing his look of confusion and curiosity with a frown of concern.
You're an idiot Henry.
A small voice erupted from the most truthful depths of his mind. But not a moment later...
Shut it, it's a party!
He laughed slightly, and returned to his butterbeer at this thought. Time for a change, he was going to try and make a point to know his fellows, and would not let anything stand in his way.
"So do you know any of the people here?" Henry asked Eaden.

Anna gave a small chuckle, at least she was pulling off her act well enough. "As long as he doesn't set any other barns on fire then it is alright." Now hopefully this night would get the girl to relax a bit and take a break from everything that had been going on such as work, quidditch and a few extra messes in between. Of course when Guy brought up Quidditch she was more than happy to talk about that, who could really be tired of the sport?
"The team's fine, I've got a lot of new blood so I gotta work them hard. But they are devoted and I can proudly say that. Admittedly, I was pretty anxious when it came to playing Slytherin after losing to Hufflepuff however we won and that's got them a bit riled up." she smiled. Not only had the girl been studying but in her spare time she had to think about strategies and organize practices every so often. Not to mention the next game might be against Ravenclaw and they had been the best in the school for the past few years.

After having such a cheery introduction with Sophia, the first year couldn't help but smile. In all honesty, the thought of mingling with older students was slightly intimidating, but all seemed to be going well so far. Izzy was off to a good start, which only increased her desire to get more familiar with her fellow lions. Chris was still nowhere to be seen, but the red head no longer minded whether he was there or not. Sure, it would still be great to party with her friend, someone who she was much more familiar with than everyone who currently occupied the Common Room, but she'd do okay without him. She had already met someone new, and was on her way to meeting more as Sophia introduced her to two more Gryffindors.
First up was a boy named Guy, who said he was a seventh year. It looked like he was in the same boat with Izzy - he said he didn't know too many of the red and golds. "Me neither," Izzy said, "But I have a feeling that will change after this party, eh?" Her lips curled up into a smile, as her green eyes slid from the seventh year to the next person Sophia introduced: Eaden. The girl said nothing to Izzy, but the first year smiled anyway before answering Sophia's question.
"Yup," she responded, "just a first year. There's another one - Chris Nagle - but I don't see him here." Just in case her friend had made an appearance, Izzy glanced around the festive room, but still saw no sign of him. Her attention focused back on the group, which just got larger as Tristan walked over, quickly letting Sophia know that she was in charge while he stepped out. "Gee, no pressure," she commented to the girl after the prefect left. Hopefully nothing would go wrong with the party that would get Sophia in trouble. She seemed too nice.

Henry was quite enjoying himself at the party, though a lurking, dark piece of knowledge was threatening to ruin his good time...time...
Henry reached down toward his left pocket, and, realizing what exactly was worrying his subconsciousness, let out a small yelp of panic. His pocket watch, the watch that had belonged to his grandfather, great-grandfather, great-great-grandfather, and beyond, was missing from it's usual keeping place in his left pocket; He looked around in panic, and then remembered; He had left it in the kitchens. He had untied the small gold chain from his belt loop, and placed it on the duplicate of the Gryffindor table.
"My watch!" said Henry in alarm. "I've left it in the kitchens...I'll be back in a bit."
He didn't seriously think the house elves would mess with the small device, in fact, he wouldn't have been surprised if he found it on his bedside table the next morning, but nevertheless, the moved toward the portrait hole and clambered out as fast as he could.
