Dan smiled up at Keag and said, " No harm, no foul. " When she was standing before him he got up and stood in front of her. His hands reached down to hers, his fingers lacing within hers. " This was amazing. " He told her in a quiet voice with his eyes shining at the same time. It was a good thing.

"Good," Keagan replied as Dan stood, a smile lighting her features again. As Dan spoke, his fingers laced in hers, Keag squeezed his hands, if only to reassure herself of his presence in the moment. "I concur," she replied in the same sort of quiet voice, the shine in his eyes reflected in her own. "Most definitely amazing." To an outside person, the events themselves may have seemed ordinary, but to Keagan, "amazing" was the perfect adjective.

Dan nodded slightly as he kept his eyes on Keag. They softened slightly when she spoke, her smile made his bigger. He really had no idea why they were talking quietly but.... He nodded once more when she agreed to his statement. " And now we must part. " Dan then said to her with another grin. The night had started out very interesting but it had gone from that to what it was. He felt so lucky.

Unable and unwilling to pull her eyes from Dan's, Keag remained looking into his eyes over the short space between them. To his short statement, she only nodded, afraid that by speaking she would only further delay the inevitable parting. She did grin, however, if only to match Dan's own grin. 'To think it all started with a dance...,' she thought, her head tilting ever so slightly to the right as she did.

Dan smiled as Keag just nodded, he felt he could tell what she was thinking at that one moment. She didn't want to leave, and niether did he. But they did have to go separate ways. " Don't worry, I'll be here tomorrow. " He told her with another smile. With that he cought her mouth in a suprise kiss.

Smiling, Keagan shook her head slightly as she replied to Dan's statement. "I'm not worried," she said, speaking quietly for no reason but that it seemed right. It was a good thing she was, though, as Dan quickly caught her lips in a kiss. The abruptness of the kiss caught Keag off guard, and it hit her with more force than his kisses otherwise had. It didn't scare her though, and Keagan returned the kiss, wondering if it would be the last one for the night.

He heard her and wasn't worried either. Why would he be? Dan just smiled as he gently pulled away, only to kiss her tenderly once more. " I think maybe you should go now before I do something stupid. " He told her in a soft voice, whispering in her ear. Or something we both could regret.... His thoughts trailed off into more questions.

Keagan was in a surrealistic, blissful state as they kissed, and with the second, tender kiss she lifted their linked hands to stroke the back of Dan's hand against her cheek ever so gently. Her eyes dropped as Dan pulled away a second time, and she hardly noticed his lips move toward her ear to speak. A part deep within her wondered what stupid thing Dan feared doing. She might have been more curious if she could hear his thoughts, but as it stood, she only nodded again, fearing to speak for the same reason as before.

Dan looked back questioning to Keag as he smiled as she brought both of their hands up to her cheek. When she nodded again Dan said, " So how about it? ", Meaning the two of them parting. He merely kept his eyes on her, the smile lighting up his features in the dim lighting of the dark Gryffindor common room.

Grinning slightly at Dan's questioning look, Keagan swung their hands back down to her side. "If we must, I guess we must," Keagan said, a reluctant shrug punctuating the statement as she lifted her eyes to look at the clock that was quickly fading into shadow as the flame in the fireplace dimmed. She then looked to Dan's eyes again, the light his smile produced spreading from his features to hers as she mimicked the expression.

" We must. " He told her with a convincing nod, although his grin was still there. He looked back into Keag's eyes and saw his own reflecting in them. He then loosened his grip on Keag's hand, indicating that they actually needed to part. Wanting to part was a very different story. " You're making this hard. " He accused her with a joking smile.

Despite the joke in Dan's smile, Keagan stumbled over her words as she replied. "I-I'm sorry," she said, because she wasn't trying to. "I'm not m-meaning to." Turning her gaze away a moment, she spotted her shoes lying on the floor about a foot from her bare feet. She had almost forgotten she had taken them off. "Oh, my shoes!" she exclaimed quietly, leaning down to retrieve the pair off the ground with her free hand. "Stupid shoes."

" Keag, " Dan started before she spotted her shoes and grabbed them with her free hand. He kept his smile in place as he said the next thing, " Goodnight, Keagan. " He thought back to how she had stumbled a bit on her words, she probably thought he meant something that he hadn't. What he did mean was that he'd have rathered stay out with her than go to sleep but... It was vital.

Standing back up, Keagan looked to Dan as he spoke again. Her smile was tentative now, but only because she was desperate to not make it hard for him to leave. That sort of difficulty would be fruitless at this point, as their parting had already been delayed several times. "Goodnight, Dan," she stated, in a simple, quiet tone. She knew that he'd rather stay out here than go to bed, but sleep was one thing they both needed, if not now, then sometime before morning.
