Seated on a footstool in the Gryffindor common room, Keagan's feet would not stop tapping, and she was aching to do something active, but the weather outside was terrible; a storm had recently let loose from the heavens. When she started to hum a song from The King and I, she could no longer remain still.
Rising off the stool, Keagan's hands took a dancing position with an invisible partner and she began to waltz around the room, humming all the while, until she arrived at the chorus. "Shall We Dance? Shall we dance? Shall we dance?" she sang, even though she hadn't any singing ability whatsoever. Just then, the door swung open, and Keagan stopped in her tracks, her jaw still hanging from the last note.

Dan grinned from his view of Keagan, dancing, no less. He gave her a nod and asked, " Havin' fun? " Before walking over to her, smiling at her expression.

"Er...," came Keagan's reply before stuttering. "Y-Yes?" She was still frozen in her position, feet set apart and hands on her partner's shoulders, regardless of his nonexistance. Clearing her throat, the girl blushed a brilliant red, looking like the Gryffie maiden she was. "Y-You didn't catch me singing, by chance, d-did you?"

" Oh, yes. Interesting tune, where'd you pick it up at? " He asked, seeing where her hands were and thinking that she was dancing... Or something of the sort with a dance partner of some... kind.

"M-movie." Describing Keagan in one word was an easy task. Mortified. Simply mortified.

" So, wanna dance? " Dan asked her, he couldn't take that look of mortification on her face any longer, so he asked her for a dance. It seemed like a fair exchange in his opinion.

In hind sight, it may have seemed an odd response, but Keagan said the first thing that came to mind as the tension in her arms loosened. "But there isn't any music."

Dan shrugged slightly, " You seemed to have managed without it, eh? " He asked with a small smile.

"Oh...yeah...," Keagan replied with a nervous laugh. "Seems that way, doesn't it?" The smile that followed on her face looked forced.

" So, what's up? " He asked after sitting down and getting comfortable in the seat directly behind him. " You're a little..... " He struggled for the word. " Tense. " Dan finally decided on.

Keagan's arms were finally at her sides, but they were far from relaxed. "I'm just a tad embarassed," she replied, her smile the only thing relaxing, into a half smile.

Dan returned Keagan's smile as he looked at her, " So, what brought you to be Gryff's current resident dancing queen? " He asked, merely joking around with her. Dan looked around the deserted, well, almost deserted, Common Room then asked her, " It's a bit.... roomy place to be dancing. " He commented.

"I've got way too much energy to be couped up inside, today," Keagan said, shrugging. She was beginning to relax more now that Dan hadn't made a big deal out of it. "It seemed like a good idea...at the time."
How could she have been expected to know that another Gryffindor resident would find their way back to the nest in the middle of her song? Sure, she should have expected it. "Well," she thought. "At least it was Dan."

Dan chuckled at Keagan's comment then looked to the window on his left, it was looking even more dreary out now that the rain was pounding against the glass.
" At the time.... Well, I'm just on my way back from outside. " He said, motioning to his clearly-wet shoes and lower half of his pants. " And then, well, you can guess the rest. " He said with a kind smile.

"Yeah, kind of." Keagan still stood, a feeling of awkwardness replacing the mortification she had felt. Nervously, she wrung her hands behind her back as the toe of her black tennis shoe slid across the lush carpeting. "Were you puddle jumping?" It seemed too cold to be doing such a thing, but perhaps the boy had just been caught outside when the downpour began.
