As if the food in the reception wasn't enough, there was plenty more around in the Gryffindor common room.
With the dawn of a new era arising just in the next few days, the common room was given a renovation to accomodate the occaision.
The silky and light drapes that suited for the summer and spring nights were replaced with heavy, lush, deep red velvets to keep in a good warmth in preparation of the cold fall and winter. The study tables were covered in a modest red table cloth, and the couches were moved into corners, all the better to make it easier for conversing and maybe a fun game or two.
The tables were filled with goodies such as warm, spongy breads, danishes and muffins; a few potato chips, dips, and pretzels; and fresh pumpkin juice, milk, and even butterbeer. It was a funny variation, but meant with an intent to satisfy everyone's taste bud.
Standing back to look at her creation, Shay nodded. Decorating it with the elves wasn't very bad and actually quite quick. Not to mention quiet good. She only hoped that the rest thought the same.

Brittany had been the first to escape the Great Hall. She couldn't stand it and felt that she had grown very unfond about the whole school-wide feast thing. As she walked back up to Gryffindor tower she remembered that Cleo used to not like those either when she got around her age. Shaking Cleo from her head she arrived at the portrait hole and said the password.
As the portrait swung open and she walked across the threshold she noticed the common room. It was decorated to a beatiful extent and looked like a whole other feast. Smiling she saw Shay standing close to her.
Coming up behind the girl she put her chin on her shoulder and asked, "Our own private feast for the best house in all of Hogwarts?"

"But of course, my dear," Shay tilted her head so that it rested on Brittany's. "Considering that not everyone is very acquainted, I thought that we should get together to meet with all. I noticed that we have new people, right?" It wasn't so much that she avoided her house, just that she had a growing habit with spending the waking hours outside.

"Well from what I saw at the school-wide feast we did. But I didn't stick around too long to mingle nor did I come early enough for it." Brittany said blatently.
To be honest, she hadn't been paying that much attention at all. She had barely even noticed the food as it appeared and disappeared in front of her at the feast. Now as she stared at the food that Shay had sat out she was thankful for the girl having organized this for her stomach was still running on empty.

Upon the feast his intention had been to retire to his dorm and sleep. And sleep soundly at that. However after the portrait opened, he was face to face with brittany, and, the other girl whom's face he remembered briefly from the feast who's name he had not inquired of.
" 'Lo ladies." Corey said as he surveyed the food for himself.

"And here is one of those newbies now...." Brittany stated, silently thanking him for the interuption so that Shay didn't inquire about what she had said.
Picking her head up off of Shay's shoulder she followed his gaze and saw he was looking at the food. "What didn't get enough of that at the main feast?"

"Doesn't look like you had enough food, too," Shay commented towards Brittany's leave. She did have desires to ask why, but seeing that the topic was left in the dust, she frittered onto the next housemate.
"Hi," she started carefully because she had seen but talk to him before, "I'm Shay, year six. I don't think I've ever talked to you before."

"Oh I had plenty, just summing whats available for desert is all." Corey claimed in response to Brittany's teasing question. And then he moved on to the other girl.
"You haven't, Corey Faulkland, 5th." He replied sincerely as he nicked a danish. Food was food, yes but there wasn't a time anywhere where he would pass up a free danish.

Cameron walked down to the commmon room. "Hey everyone."Cameron said. She walked over and sat down on one of the couches. "What's this? Another feast?"Cam asked. She didn't really eat at dinner. "By the way, my name is Cameron Chambers, 4th year."Cam looked at the boy.

"Pleasure meeting you, Corey," Shay said as she took a piece of sweet bread and served herself some milk. When another Gryffindor came in, she greeted, "Hey Cameron!" she remembered her from other occaisons. "Go on and help yourself to whatever you want."
Plopping down on the lush red couch, she looked from each and every Gryffindor and made an attempt at conversation. "Did you guys see the headmistress? She looks a little stressed, but she's so pretty."

Did they see the Headmistress? Thats was some question, the woman definitely an obvious entrance.
"See 'er? She bloody well nearly blew apart the doors. Anyone who didn't see 'er was either not there, or deaf. Which, I hold nothing against either points. I'd trade places with either of em any day." Corey replied.
The feast, was mostly lecture and food, basically it all summed up to boring.

"Yeah, well, I sneaked in there before she came in. I was in the corner mostly, so that's why I was no where to be seen," She took to some potato chips and dipped it into the onion dips. "Mmm," she commented, "Onion dip and milk."

"Hey Shay! Okay I will."Cameron replied. She helped herself to chips and dip. "This is good."Cameron said as she took a couple of bites of chips and dip. There was other food, Cameron decided to try it here in a little bit.

Dan walked into the Gryff common rooms after his escape and frowned slightly as he saw Cam. He shook his head slightly and walked through to their own private feast. " Are you trying to stuff us, Shay? " He asked with a teasing smile to the older Gryff as he surveyed the choices. " Decisions, decisions, " He muttered and looked as though he were deciding something life altering instead of what type pf jam to put on a slice of bread.

Cameron saw Dan. She didn't say anything. She looked at him, but looked away. She told him she wasn't mad. Of course she was mad! She spent all that time with him, and it went down the drain. She got up and helped herself to a cookie. Cameron sat back down where she was and nibbled at it. She wasn't in a happy mood with Dan, and he could so tell that she wasn't.
