"You won't bomb them," Arianna claimed, giving Drew a look that said he was completely crazy to ever think so. "Lowest I got was an acceptable in Transfiguration and you know how terrible I am in that class. I'm sure you'll pass."
Of course, she could understand the apprehension. By the time Arianna had gotten to that point where she had to take her own OWLs, the girl was certain she would goof up every one of them. Even DADA and Charms, her best subjects.

"It's still kind of nerve wracking, you know?" he asked, tossing a rock into the water. "I mean, you hear of these horror stories of these guys going in and just blanking on everything. I mean, like they can't even do a simple Leviosa."

"All you can really do is study up," Arianna gave a small shrug. Now that it was all behind her, OWLs no longer seemed like such a big deal. Not when she had other things to worry about. "If you need help, I'm here and I'm sure Allegra and Kellen would help if you ask. You still have several months to go, though."

"Yeah, I know," Drew answered, plunking another stone into the lake. "It's just one more thing to worry about right now, you know?" He wasn't even sure why he was stressing out over this kind of stuff anyway. It never bothered him before.

"You'll pass. I know you will," Arianna gave a definite nod. Heck, he was always helping her, an older student, with some of her own homework. If she passed all of her OWLs, how could he think he wouldn't?
"I'm just glad I've got this year and next to study up for NEWTS," the girl commented as she chucked another rock across the lake. "There's no way I could focus on those AND my Apparition test all at once."
Of course, if she was lucky, Arianna would have her license before winter break was over and would have the rest of the time to focus on other things. Still, the girl felt it was quite a lot to prepare for in one school year.

"Aw... my license too!" Drew cried out. He had spent a good part of the summer behind the wheel of his dad's car and he was pretty confident he'd do fine, but still. "How am I supposed to spend three and a half month here and be ready for my driving test in December?"

"Your..huh?" Arianna's face went blank. She had spent her summers learning how to drive carpets, not motor vehicles. "Oh...car....How've you been doing so far? It's not....it's not that hard, is it?"
A part of her wanted to learn how to drive a car, but she wasn't sure she'd find the time to do so anytime soon. She supposed it would be something she'd work on after she was out of school and gone to lean how to be a Healer. It really didn't seem too important right now, though.

"No, actually i'ts easier than I thought it would be," Drew answered, getting excited. "I know it sounds stupid, but I thought it would be harder because I'm always crashing those dumb cars at Disneyland, but this is much easier. I just have to figure out parking and I think I'm good."

"Yeah?" Arianna caught onto Drew's excitement and a wide smile spread across her lips. "Do you...do you think we could do something like that in the RoR? Oh, man, that would be so much fun! You could show me how to do it! I mean....if you want to..."

"I... I don't know," Drew answered honestly, though he figured anything was possible. He was thinking it would be a bummer if they just ended up with a simulator or an amusement park ride. "Or we wait until break and I show you then..."

"In a real car?" Arianna questioned, her eyes widening as she jumped slightly up and down. It sounded much better than a silly RoR fakery. No matter how real it looked, it wouldn't be the same or as exciting as actually being on the road.

"Heck yeah, a real car!" Drew answered now getting excited. Of course, Kellen had just told him that he couldn't drive in Europe until he was 18... and he highly doubted that even in the states they would allow a sixteen year old to teach someone else... but hey, it was still exciting to think about.

"That would be so cool!" Arianna exclaimed, her smile wider than ever. She really didn't know the laws pertaining to vehicles, but figured it would be okay as long as Drew had a license. Heck, if worst came to worst they could find a back road to practice on. Cops never traversed back roads unless they were on some criminal's tail.

"Do they have cars in Qui-lin?" Drew asked, thinking that spending another summer over there would be a heck of a whole lot cooler than going back to California. That way he could teach Ari and they wouldn't have to worry so much about the rules.

"No," Arianna replied, frowning slightly. Why would Drew ask? He'd been there. Hadn't he seen that nothing on the island required fossil fuels to move around? "There's just carts and carraiges and carpets is all."
