They were, and still at present seemed to have been a good bunch of younglings, curious about Herbology, or, at least bits and pieces of it. Thus no different from his second years in that aspect. But, unlike his second years, they asked questions. And it was this aspect that pleased him greatly.
Their Professor was absent, the only sign he had ever been present was the wide open and unlocked, door, the topic of the day being what appeared to be four branches on each table each about two feet long in length. They were so interested about their wands and magic in general, the young ones should have no problem deciphering this lesson's purpose.
The dew was still drying off the grass outside, and a light breeze blew through the already coolly temperated air. It was forecast to be a nice day apparently, or at least he hoped so. Nice days with weather, were nice days overall.

Herbology. She kind of liked this class. But plants wasn't really a big thing for her. She did however love SOME plants and knew a little of bit of a lot of them, but not much. She knew Tristan was probably sleeping in this class right about now. But she knew if he did, he might be levitated or something whatever he explained to her about last year. Upon looking around the greenhouses she found herself in the Herbology classroom.
She then went back out and saw a sign. It said that the door was unlocked. Duh, she just walked in. She then walked in again and didn't see Professor Shaw anywhere. She wondered where he went, but right now she needed to find what to do. She then sat at a table awaiting for another student to come in.

Artemis in all his pride strode into the unlocked door. He was ok, upset but ok he had to bury his feelings, he couldn't let it run his life he needed control but he lost it easily. Art didn't like the professor, well to be hoest he didn't like any professor at all. his feelings were buried but one could say the gave was shallow, and the right spark could set it off. He kept his face as it had been for the past while, an upset sort of frown.

Kyle was not exactly what you would called "excited" about Herbology. The guy seemed alright, but that had yet made him real interested about the subject. He walked in, and went to his seat. But before he sat down, he stared at the woody thing on the table.
He would poke it, but he didn't know if that thing was still alive. Really, you never really knew with anything in this classroom. So he sat down, but kept a close eye on the branch. Constant vigilance.

"Wands out on your desks!" Robert's voice echoed from the doorway as he entered the room. He had taken a brief second to survey the classroom and found that he had not even half of his first year's present. Did he even want to know what their excuses were? Probably not, but if they showed up late it was on them.
"Good morning, good morning, good morning." The man chorused, moving straight into the lesson two-fold. "I'm quite certain the three of you have noticed the branches on each of the tables, or at least." He paused. "Mr. Hersten...I'm up here if you would please. Now then, since I have your now undivided attention, Mr. Hersten, do you know what your wand is made of?"

Art was amazed at thois professor, he was so firggen hyper like, even art didn't get like this. but art jsut kept his head down and his hand i his robes on his wand, unless Shaw specified Art to take out his wand he wasn't gonna do it because he didn't want to. he liked his wand and was not one to share

Nathan. Well, he wasn't the greatest fan of herbology; obviously seen through the over-dramatic expression already over his face. That look had replaced the one of naivety only moments after stepping into the Greenhouse. Perhaps it was the light scent of fertilizer that made his allergies all act up on him, or perhaps the fact that plants and herbs were boring.
Watching the teacher in mild interest, Nathan's bored look was already changing to one of complete fascination. Perhaps this was the first (or second, depending on the insane Hufflepuff HoH. But they were all insane, so he shouldn't count) teacher whom had been more jumpy and timid then his students. Nathan looked blankly at the wood infront of him. Why had he not noticed this before?
Probably just another boring theoretical lesson. Oh joy.

Kyle found the triple chorous of Good Morning didn't quite suit the professor. It's a bit too cheerful for him. He wondered if he was in a good mood, not that that's really his concern. His immediate concern was more like if he really wanted to put his wand on the table. He had a feeling that if he did, that weird looking branch would snatch it away.
"Alder tree," he replied. He knew that because that's what the store keeper told him. An 11" Alder wand with heartstring of a male Welsh Green.

Flora came running into the classroom right after Shaw came in. Keeping as quiet as a mouse, she slipped into the back of the place and pulled her wand out, since that was one of the few things she hear him say. It's not that she wanted to miss Herbology, in fact it was one of her favorite subjects. She was just held up in the hallway on the second floor when her books fell out of her bag. So far, this was not turning out to be her day.

Chasae took her wand out as quickly as possible, when Shaw had entered the classroom- it was more out of shock than obedience though. She knew that her wand was made of Ash and Austrialian Belflower Essence. Her mother had said that it was a rare and beautiul mix. Although then again, every wand was unique.
She stared at it, wondering whether they were learning about Herbology or not-- she couldn't really see the connection.
