Dragos had yet to actually be in the prefects lounge. He'd yet to find where it actually was. He had a vague idea and knew the password but it actually wasn't that difficult to find. This worried him slightly. Muttering the password, the Croatian teen made his way into the room, looking around at it and nodding in approval. "Nice," he mumbled.
Walking to one of the couches, Dragos eyed it almost hungrily. He was dead tired and hadn't slept well in days. Mostly because his mind was racing with so many different things that he wasn't even sure what his problem was anymore. Part of it was Charlie...or whoever the hell she was this week. He couldn't get his mind off that kiss and part of him didn't really want to. Dragos knew it had been so wrong and it shouldn't have even happened. She was bloody well with someone for Merlin's sake! With a sigh, Dragos plopped onto his back on the couch, covering his face with his hands.
What was he to do?
It was a little past 10:30, Dragos noticed, glancing at his watch. He knew he should be on the look-out for students that were out past curfew, but they'd just have to get away with it tonight. He was too tired to do his job and he knew he was risking actually losing it for that. But as long as no one knew, he didn't really care. In fact, he didn't really care about anything. His mind reluctantly wondered onto the subject of Charlie again and he groaned, pushing himself up off the couch, sitting on it's edge and resting his face in his hands. They ran through his hair before covering his eyes once more. If he couldn't shake this, he didn't know what he was going to do.

Charlie stood by where she had to stand for the prefects's lounge, scratching her head and figuring if it was going to work for her. She recited the password once, and to no bias, she was let in. "Sweet!" she exclaimed, the opening of the portal also opening up the reminder that this particular lounge was just as welcomed for qudditch captains as for prefects. Life would still be good.
Entering on in, she had her mind set right on making it to the large, luscious tub to quell the pain of the hex that Arty threw at her earlier that day. As if that wasn't embarassing. She ditched sleeping in her dorms for a while to get to relaxing and ease her mind off of the last few days.
Charlie had looked straight onward to those tubs when she saw a figure move about on one of the couches. Naturally, she had her eyes move over there, but her head didn't really process who that was. Rather, she knew who it was dead on, but she couldn't remember why he was so... frazzled.
Ah, and then the look of pain set into her face, mixed well in with embarassment and loss of dignity. She knew why. Unfortunately, she was there. It was one of those rare times that the spirit forgot about her and seemed let her surface to the ability of a vision, and she was well into seeing what was happening until something went berserk and Amber got powerful over her and blacked her out again.
With a face like that and a sudden stop in front of him, she had to eventually realize that maybe he noticed. Lifting her arm from the bruised spot where she got Arty's spell head on, she waved awkwardly. "Hey, man."

Dragos froze. He turned his head slightly, staring the girl down with a scowl on his face. Leaning on his arms, the Slytherin looked up at his house-mate, letting out an incredulous scoff. "You've got some bloody nerve, don't you?" the Croatian boy snapped at her, "Come back for more, have you? A little more cheating on your boyfriend, eh? You're a piece of work!" Anger was rising in Dragos and he was struggling to keep it under wraps. He was just plain furious with her when he knew he shouldn't be. It definitely hadn't been Charlie who'd kiss him but...who else could it have been? It was Charlie. In some form. It was just weird.

The fuse was lit on both of them. Her horrified face dropped to a deep set expression of fury herself. Charlie just didn't know how empathize for other people. At least, it took a long time. "Jus' 'cause I still have the friggin' blond hair doesn't mean I ain't me!" For venting's sake, she would have lunged at him, but what was that going to solve? If he had any kind of thoughts like Arty did, he would hex her in any moment, and she could sure as hell count on it being a few times stronger.
Instead, she could only opt for something a bit more childish but most likely useful. She marched up to him, but didn't quite make it to where he sat, and instead made it to the coffee table that had a complimentary jelly beans from Honeydukes. Grabbing a handful, she threw two or three at him at a time, making her aim just as precise and acurate as she remembered.
"I'm." Toss. "My." Throw. "SELF." It was raining jelly beans! If she wasn't pissed that she got thrown down by a second year, she would have eaten each one.

When the first jellybean hit him, Dragos didn't move. When the second one made contact, he lost it and leapt off the couch, nearly knocking it over in the process. He did, however, knock over the table and sent the beans sprawling across the floor. "Really mature, Jones!" Dragos roared, coming right up to the girl, "That's a great idea! Make me hate you even more!" He was in such a fury that he hadn't even noticed she was talking like Charlie again. It would take him a while to have that one click but right now, he was too pissed off to even think of it.
"What do you want from me?" he yelled, getting closer to the girl and forcing her backwards.

Now that she saw the mess of jellybeans all on the floor, she really regretted them. They would have been awesome after the loo. Of course, though, the jelly beans were the least of her problems. She moved back, trying for her wand, and hoping for the best of it was needed. If she did, though, she was royally screwed. The process to take Amber out had drained her temporarily of her magic, and she was down a few notches, all that were critical for a fight like this.
"I DON'T WANT NOTHING!" She yelled out and stood her ground instead. This vulnerable phase was really pissing her off. One hand hid behind her with her wand, but the other went to give him a push on the shoulder, but it was light and playful, even if her intentions was rough and-- not meaning to rhyme-- painful. "C'mon, man! I'm sorry for what happened, but I wasn't myself! Believe me, you sonuvuh--" she groaned. That bruise had the worst reaction times.

"Oh, you're damn right you weren't yourself!" Dragos continued, sounding almost condescending now, "Of course it wasn't you. I shouldn't have been so stupid to think that maybe, you actually like me and that's what it was about. But nooo, it had nothing to do with that. You were just lookin' for a kick, weren't you? Just a little fun?" Dragos took a step back when she pushed him and stayed back, not really trusting himself to be that close to her right now. He turned away and walked back toward the table, kicking it viciously out of his path.
"So it's my fault then, right?" the Slytherin asked, his voice shaking slightly as the remorse was starting to set in for going off on her like that.

Charlie wanted to tell him the truth straight up, but it would be embarassing to on so many levels. She already thought it was weak of her to not know it would happen to her. Plus, who's to say he was going to believe her? These days, any kind of attempt to ease out the tension that Amber caused exploded into her face with the one word she absolutely hated to hear: drama. Drama. She was already feeling like the idiotic girls that run around Leger's Woods.
She groaned at her bruise in her stomach until she found a seat almost immediately behind her. With a split second to think about her choice, she decided to lie. "I dunno what got into me. Sorry, man! What else do you want to hear?! It wasn't your fault," she shut her eyes closed in defeat. She had to tell him. Don't bother. "I led you on." That jerk to the stomach was worse than the bit of pain she was feeling. Charlie hated to own up to the crap that Amber did.

Dragos started pacing, walking back and forth so fast that he nearly burned a hole in the floor. His breathing was heavy as he tried to think of something to say. "What do I wanna hear?" he repeated, his voice a lot quieter now than it had been just a moment earlier, "I wanted to hear that I was wrong. That I was wrong to think that I was being stupid about you liking me. That there was some tiny possibility that you did. But it doesn't matter, because you don't." Dragos wished he hadn't blurted that out. He'd kept it secret long enough that he had feelings for her and he'd hoped they would just pass. But they hadn't. They had grown stronger since that kiss, despite the fact that it also made him hate her as well.
"I mean," the Croatian Slytherin continued, "You don't. Right?"

Wait a minute! Charlie knew that Amber used Dragos to make out with him, but she didn't really think that would mean it was because he liked her, as in Charlie. Or was it Charlotte? She shook her head in confusion, and realized that that answered the question that she meant to have a verbal reponse, which would have been more confusing and garbled as she the spasm-y shake of the head.
She stopped her shaking and looked up at him. As much as she wanted to take it back for the sake of having a better response, she couldn't. It would only make things distance themselves from the simplicity that she strived for. "Dude... you're like a bro to me." She winced at it, and tried again. "No, man, you-you're like my par'ner in crime. Ya see? Um... I don't know... If I did that thing with you--" just talking around the subject of kissing was awkward to her, "-- it's 'cause something was seriously wrong with me. But I'm better, man. Swear to my pet rat's grave! And that's serious right there."

"Yeah, that's what I thought," the Croatian boy answered softly, his voice toned down in defeat. He backed away again, pushing the tale out of his way once more and going back to the couch. He plunked himself down, looking pathetic as he did so. Dragos leaned back in the position he'd been in originally, feet up and crossed on the couch. "If you being that way means I get to kiss you, then maybe it isn't such a bad idea," Dragos mumbled, barely even audible to his own ears. Instead, he sighed deeply, running his hands over his face again.
"So who are you with then?" he asked her, not sure if he wanted an answer.

Charlie inwardly groaned. She couldn't fix it with the right words, what could she do then? The only real solution would have been to go back in time to avoid it, but she didn't have one of those magical devices on hand. Now, deviceless and weak, she had to face the truth, even if it wasn't necessarily her own.
In fact, sometimes it felt like she was being the messenger, not involved with this. Seeing her friend down like this was saddening. Before she could even reply back with an 'Excuse me?' for this mumbled, almost inaudible statement, he hit her with a rather defining question. Charlie sat back and looked at Dragos with a pause in the air, thinking that he wasn't going to start celebrating after she told him. In fact, she would have expect worse. "Hiro," she nodded slowly. "He's the Ravenclaw prefect."

Dragos had no idea who this "Hiro" kid was but he hated him immediately. That wasn't really fair to Hiro, but Dragos couldn't help it. Jealousy was always one of his weaknesses and he couldn't help but feel it right now. It seemed as though no matter who he liked or who he cared about, he always seemed to lose them. He'd already lost Vanessa and now he was losing Charlie Not that she was ever his to begin with.
"Well, best of luck to you both," Dragos told her, trying his best to sound sincere.

Charlie seemed to ignore his congratulations. Or at least, she regarded the tone over the actual words. In a matter of seconds she could have just switched over to something new, but she had to keep in mind what had happened to all of them. Because of Amber, she was losing teammates and friends. Thanks to her, Charlie had to endure the lesson of actually talking to people in order to resolve something that wasn't easily mended on the field or in a hospital wing.
She gulped. "Are we good now, man? 'Cause I want things to be back like before." This mending of friendship thing made her hungry. Still keeping her eyes on him, she swooped down on the side to pick up a handful of jelly beans to put right into her mouth. She had no problems with that at all. In fact, she was used to taking things off the floor. Back in fourth year she did that with peanuts on the library floor, and she had an entire audience come back at her to give her disgusted faces and sounds. No biggie, though.

All Dragos could muster was a sigh and shake of his head. He really didn't know if they were OK yet. It hurt, he wasn't going to lie, but he would sorely miss Charlie as a friend if he couldn't just be cool with this. It shouldn't have been such a big deal, but it was. He looked over at Charlie, not even caring that she was eating off the floor. The Slytherin boy was definitely not in any position to judge her about that.
"I dunno, Charlie," he answered his Croatian accent thick, "I don't see how it could be the same. It just isn't. But I don't want to lose you as a friend." It was complicated and not really something Dragos was keen on dealing with. He had other things to worry about, but this was quickly becoming his biggest problem. Looking down at his prefect badge, he was starting to think maybe that wasn't such a good idea.
Dragos unpinned the button and held it in his hand before looking to Charlie. "Not sure I deserve this anymore," he said quietly.
