As she was being spoken to, her mouth dropped in shock as she tried to hide away that she wasn't wearing her tie. It's not like she could, but at the same time, she didn't want to either. Jax loved her choker and tried to wear it everywhere she went...the tie covered it up. "My tie...umm..." She tried to think of a good excuse but none came. Shrugging at Professor van Aller Jax shook her head. "Misplaced it?" she asked rather than told.
When her name was called, she called out back...not that van Aller didn't already know she was there or anything. Jax looked around the room. Not everyone's clothes were that bad. She sighed. This professor really had a stick up her bum like all the time. What the hell....any ways....
Jax crossed her arms and slouched back in her chair. Stupid teachers....

As she began her lecture another student walked in, but she brushed it off. Annemarie had not yet begun to call roll so no house points would be taken that day. “Just be a bit more punctual next time, Miss Barrett.” Roll went smoothly as always and once she was done, she marked who was there and who was not, taking note of faces to try and remember names as best she could.
“As for everyone else, please wear proper attire and know the school dress code. It’s important, even if you may not think it is. Does anyone have any questions or explinations for why it may be important?” she asked the class. A once wise student had told Annemarie that not often enough did professor’s or adults explain themselves or their reasoning’s for such things. She wanted to try and help with that, though, still, she believed that rules must be followed whether they were agreed with or not.
Annemarie’s eyes focus briefly on each and every student, catching their gaze as she did so, or at least trying to. One in particular, Miss Hjort, she hoped she would catch, for it had been her words that had helped her realize that whether or not professor’s were not agreed with, the students too needed some kinds of justifications to feel more secure. Annemarie had only wished the young girl would have come to a professor first, before doing what she had.
It almost surprised Annemarie that she even still showed up to class. Annemarie almost doubted that as a youth, not even she would have been that respectful.
Alright class,” she began. “Let’s begin.” She paused and waved her wand putting the notes of the day on the board and leaving space where more notes would appear as the discussion progressed. “Today we are learning about muggle transportation. How one gets from one place to another without magic. Can anyone start us off and give us some examples? And please do speak up. Today we are going to have more of a discussion, rather than a lecture.” Annemarie smiled warmly and nodded her head as the first child spoke.

As the woman started the class off, asking if they knew of why the uniforms were important, the only thing Felicity could think of was that they were to keep from seeing some of the clothing people wore outside of the classroom, but she was sure it wasn't the answer van Aller was looking for and therefore kept her hand down, but didn't keep the small appreciative smile from her lips. Had the woman really thought of what she'd told her? Understood what she meant that sometimes explanations were needed to help better the understanding of reasonings?
When the woman's dark eyes glanced over her, Felicity made sure to remain in eye contact. There was no reason for her to be afraid, nor for her to shy away. As far as the blonde was concerned, she had every reason to still be sitting in class and listening to the professor take off on topics. She enjoyed this class, thought it to be a rather easy one, the reason she was taking it, and enjoyed the simplicity and care van Aller seemed to have for the subject.
As the words appeared on the board, Felicity began jotting them down in her notes, not getting very far before she'd stopped and put more attention on the woman as she spoke. Raising her hand before speaking, she knew she probably shouldn't actually be answering the question since she'd grown up mostly muggle, but figured there wasn't any reason not to either.
"Automobile, watercraft, aircraft, and walking..." she volunteered. The last part was mostly for joke as even wizards walked to get from place to place, but they could also apparate, something muggles could most definitely not do.
