Lily wondered how this would work. She raised her hand and voiced this concern. "But professor, everyone knows electricital devices don't work in the castle." She didn't think too highly of Professor Stern. For one thing, last class she had ended up fighting with Nic and storming off. For another, he lumped the 6th years in with the 3rd, 4th, and 5th years. The 6th years had passed the OWL to get here. You would think that what they were learning should be harder than that of the younger years. At the very least if they had to be grouped with someone it should be the 7th years. She crossed her arms and her eyebrow twitched every so slightly.

Dean's head was resting on his hand, looking sideways at the professor he sent the man a wondering glance. How was this going to work? He'd done it before in his last school, so far this class didn't seem to advanced but they had been placed with the fifth and fourth years this time. He shrugged slightly and waited for their professor's answer to the girl's question. Lily, was it? He wasn't too sure but it was a guess. Dean looked at one of the generators that sprung up on the desk across from his with an amused expression.

Nic was all excited until he heard Lily's words. "So that explains why my cd man doesn't work. I thought it was the batteries and it's the stupid castle." Nic looked around. Maybe he wasn't supposed to give away the fact he was taking this class because it was the most familliar and home like thing he had. He glanced at Lily and smiled at her still wondering if she remembered anything else about it besides the being on the train with him. He hadn't meant to be avoiding her it just happened that way.

"Wait, don't you use these silver heavy box things for e-lect-tri-city? Like connect the wires in here and then try it on the light bulb?" he asked Professor Stern. He just wanted to know what the heavy cube thing was for. Then he learned they would have to get a partner.
Tristan looked around, saw Nic. But then saw Lily, which mean't Nic MIGHT wanted to be her to be his partner. He sighed, and waited for the response. Then Alexis was there, too. He hasn't talked to her in a while.

Although he still was skeptical of this working he shrugged and tried to catch Vanessa's eye, he might as well work with someone he knew rather than a perfect stranger. He shifted slightly in his seat as he turned around ( I think she's behind him ) to see if she was interested in pairing up with him. He was still stuck on why the sixth years had to work with both fifth and fourth years but the professor didn't seem to care too much.

Evangeline sat quietly the rest of that time. When the professor mentioned the word partner, Eva immediately started with her eyes bouncing around the room. She really didn't see too many options. There weren't many sixths years in the class it seemed. But Eva, being who she was, didn't really care who she ended up with. As long as they didn't cause her any problems.

Charlie looked around the classroom and laughed to herself rather smugly. It was more of something she couldn't help to laugh at, but it was purely because she didn't know nor did she care of pairing up with someone. Instead of looking on in desperation, Charlie sat back comfortably, waiting patiently for it to be over with.

Alexis just sat there listening to whatever the professor was saying. Eliktrisity or what ever it was called, sounded pretty dumb, at least to her. But now came the time to choose partners. But who she wanted to be her partner, Alexis had no idea. Maybe Talia, a fellow huffle or somebody. Or maybe she would just wait a little bit.

He looked at Lily,"A-ha! But, this part of the castle works for electricity. It clearly stats it in Hogwarts, A History. Nevermind that. Nic, the reason why your CD player doesn't work all the time is because the batteries aren't any good use on the other side of castle. The dungeons is the worse sometimes. But it's always the third floor that works the best because it's doesn't have that much magic around," he said to them.
He then saw that no one was getting a partner. He sighed. "I'll pair you up with someone of my choosing then. And don't get all disappointed if it's not the right person you don't wanna work with. Charlie, your with Lily. Nic, your with Tristan. Evageline, your with Dean. Alexis, your with Taila. Vanessa, you can work with me, if not, then you may pick a group. Now chop chop," he told the students.

Talia couldn't help but smile as she got paired up with someone she actually did like! Talia just sat and waited then, since her desk had one of these electricty makers... Or whatever they were called. She was still holding the light bulb and was wondering what they have to do with it. There were the wires, the battery, and the bulb... She just didn't know how they were all out together. She wondered if Alexis did, and well, if she didn't, it'd only be more fun.

"I'm not working with Charlie," Lily said, flat out angry at the professor. "For one thing, she's a 5th year. And for another, she's a Slytherin." Who broke into our common room and made our lives miserable. Lily didn't say that outloud. All she knew is that she was not working with Charlie. And she knew adamantely that she was going to take matters into her own hands. She was tempted to leave again. After all, she knew the professor couldn't stop her and she didn't really care.

Armando coughed from the back of the room, mainly to remind the students of his presence. He knew, along with many of the staff what a lack of house unity produced. But he also knew this lack only stemmed from stereotypes and a flawed conscience. The man scribbled a couple sentences and found himself most satisfied for the moment.
"Professor, if I may interject?" He paused but found no objection. He continued as he looked at the blonde-locked girl. "Your professor has assigned you a partner, correct? What good does it do to judge your partner by year and house? You're prejudging, not to mention wasting a grade. Let me suggest you get through the lesson and if you have a quarrel to settle, deal with it after. I don't wish to have to add negatives to my report."
(My slight god-moding may be re-edited into a reply post should you wish to roleplay my permission to speak. Sir.)

"I'm not prejudging," Lily said. She knew she was treading on risky ground talking back to a ministry officals. "One professor dies and you're all over the school. What do you know of what went on here before? Do you know, for example, what they did? What Charlie there was personally invovled in? Did you know that her and a few of the other Slytherins broke into our common room and hexed us? That's why I won't work with her. If you have a probelm with that, well then, just do your job and look into it. What makes us so special to be under the microscope now? I should be working with someone my age level, who passed the O.W.L."

"Or maybe teaching someone who hasn't. If you have the knowledge why not put it to decent use, hmm? Instead of griping about what you don't have, or don't want to do, look at what you do have and what you can do with that." Merlin these students were more than a bit dense on the object of partners and cooperation. Where would they be if this situation turned into another war? What then?
Armando simply shut his mouth after that, allowing the girl to either take his words into account or simply shrug him off and continue griping. He'd put the offer out, it was up to her to take it...up to both of them. But he'd heard no arguement from the tom-boy princess yet so, he could assume all was well.

Charlie rolled her eyes at the Ravenclaw girl. She was surprised the girl even remembered that, it felt like ages to her. "Get over it," She said to Lily as she told everyone about the prank. She crossed her arms and her face was none too disturbed. "Swear to Merlin..." she said under her breath. Then again, she wasn't at all that excited to work with Lily. She was the type of girl Charlie tended to avoid.
