The visit to Charlie's brother in London was a little overstayed, if you asked her. She didn't feel unwelcomed, nor abandoned. Just... foreign. Never had she felt that way in front of her brother who took good care of her and gave her a good ear to listen to, but it had faltered when she had sat him down in the living room of his tiny apartment and told him what she could about the last few months. She didn't dare tell him everything because most parts seemed like it degraded her dignity, and she was hoping she still had some left. Towards the end, though, Chris had to stop her, and back away from the thought that their brother Mike was the instigator of her suffering. He didn't want to believe her?!? Charlie left it at that.
And now when the festivities were down and there wasn't much time until school started, she had gotten herself back into Hogwarts and back to anything that could divert her attention from her loss of faith in some things. Bags unpacked, books settled back in, the greeting of friends-- that was squared away. It only came later that she would be stuck in the Trophy Room, taking a look for each name and imagining her name on it.
She was looking like a kid in the candy shop. Her hands had been pressed on glass, her eyes were scrutinizing the waves of the golden shapes. No luck again. Nothing had her name. That had to change...
"That's what I want," Charlie muttered as quiet as possible, looking up at the qudditch trophies. That's what she wanted.
(oh yeah--open)

“The team’ll need a lot more practice before it’s your name up there.” Mick was leaning against the wall near the doorway and only barely heard the girl speak to the trophies. He hoped he was able to piece together her thoughts from her words and location. He wasn’t really trying to be mean he just said what he truly thought.
Mickey had been exploring the armor gallery, testing some new spells from Charms and Transfiguration on the suits of armor. As long as he wasn’t caught it was a much more entertaining way of studying than the average practice. He was just leaving for the great hall when he saw his housemate wandering across the hall. She seemed troubled but Mick wasn’t really looking for a psych session. He just wanted some conversation.
“Don’t get me wrong.” he continued, “When there’s a match I’m all silver and green but I see reality. And Slytherins don’t seem to care too much about Quidditch.”

"I got that figured out a long time ago," Charlie said with the unconscious effort of her grinding teeth. She was annoyed, maybe at him. Or maybe at the truth. It was there, that was for sure. Steadily, she felt like she was screwing it up, unable to go through rugged obstacles to make the house pride in itself again. What happened to being sneaky and getting points? Was that just not cool anymore?
Her last efforts for the qudditch team was almost sad and pathetic. No matter what... there must have been some sort of lack of enthusiasm in that team, and not even the zeal of others could carry over a sufficient win. And here she was, no other plans but qudditch but practically nothing to show for it.
"We're obviously nothin' like the other houses. How come we just can't give it the overhaul and win something?" The question flooded her mind and her impulse to ask it out loud, because she hadn't meant it to actually say it in front of the fifth year. Still, maybe she just needed the opinions of others to know how to change it up.

Mick stayed with his back against the wall and folded his arms. He hadn’t expected his comment to spark up a conversation on Slytherin’s possibilities for improvement, but given the opportunity he wasn’t going to stay silent.
“Look, I’m not going to pretend I know quidditch better than you. But I understand people pretty well. Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, Gryffindor, they’re not better teams but their houses are tighter than a werewolf’s pants. Slytherins are individuals. We can thrive alone, without other’s praise or approval.”
“Without their house mates pressuring them when they lose and makin ‘em heroes when they win what’ve they got to work for? Nothing but their own satisfaction. I don’t know about you but I can get that from skipping out on curfew just as easily.”
He shrugged, “If I were you, I’d worry more ‘bout house spirit.” he grimaced as the word spirit crossed his lips. The idea was absurd but wasn’t that the point. Slytherins were more sophisticated that their counterparts in other houses, they didn’t need to make large banners with slithering snakes, flashing out support.

"House... spirit." Charlie repeated, her tone almost dissecting the two words as if they were never spoken or discussed before. However, that was far from the case. Back in Reina's half of the reign, they had house parties, house pranks, house party pranks. But was that enough? Charlie was looking at it in a different perspective.
She was usually a fan of the good ol' "divide and conquer". But who's to say that could work in this context? Definitely not. There had to have been a common link in which they all could work it together in something, and hope for the best that they could even care for each other. Merlin knew she didn't care too much for them individually. It was just a Slytherin thing.
"What do you think could help them out in actually lookin' out for each other?" She crossed her arms and slighly leaned on the pane of the trophy case. She may have looked like she was expecting full answers, but she wanted a general consensus to see what was needed to repair the shambles. The break told her she couldn't be the solution-maker.

Mick felt his stomach grumble. He had forgotten about lunch and now his stomach was taking it out on him. Trying to shake it off he focused on the girl’s question. The answer was simple, Mick thought as he straightened up and began moving toward the quidditch trophies. He stopped, leaving a couple meters between him and Charlie. No need to get too close, they were Slytherins after all.
“What unites any group?” he asked her but instead of waiting he went on, answering his own question. “A common enemy. Clearly Slytherin has that in Gryffindor, even Hufflepuff at times. And when we’re matched against Ravenclaw there’s no question of where loyalties lie. But haven’t you noticed that over the years even Slytherins have gotten themselves cozy with Gryffindors. I’m all for inter-house friendships, even relationships. But Slytherins are cunning and mischievous. They thrive off prey, just like a snake.” He shrugged again, knowing that his words without plans of action were useless. “How you’d go about creating more animosity? I don’t know...start rumors...lead by example?”

Charlie put his words into perspective and had difficulty to accept the truth. Over the years the Slytherins had put themselves all over the map in finding friends, and connections. It just came with the outbreak of more of their Slytherin alumni. And now they could barely stand to be in the room with each other-- note the last few lockdowns and slip ups-- so what did they have to show for it?
Charlie wanted to mend the shambles when everyone else wanted to hang out with their other house friends. She knew it, she was one of them. Heck, she was dating one from another house. But could it hurt to just create some rifts to keep the house interested in keeping with their own? "Guess it takes a few sacrifices for the greater good."

“Depends on what you think the greater good is I suppose.” Mick leaned against a very large trophy and crossed his arms, trying to muffle the sounds of growling coming from his stomach. “It’s really up to you in’it? I mean, if it’s quidditch you’re concerned about then yea. You need to unite the house, bring ‘em closer by giving us a common enemy. No question in my mind.” he frowned slightly, “but if you think that maybe the greater good is all the houses gettin’ along. Slytherins snogging Gryffindors, Birdbrains tutoring Badgers, then maybe quidditch in’it that important. It’s all up to you then, feeling the pressure?” He grinned.
“Eh-just find a happy medium. Train your team to near death, but make sure their alive for each match. Decorate the common room with quidditch banners and mock bludgers or something. Around each match, only a few weeks before, then you can start worrying about inter-house rivalry. No point in spilling your cauldron over it too far from the games.” He look at her a bit more closely.
“You wouldn’t start something too big. Not with that bloke you’ve been seeing. What is he? Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw?”

"Ravenclaw," She corrected him, getting just the tinge of offense in her tone. "And it doesn't matter. He knows I get competitive around qudditch." They always did dance around rivalry when it came to it. But by now it was looking like a joke. Again-- she had nothing to show for it.
"I think the house can manage to separate themselves from the Birdbrains, Huffles, and Gryffindorks for some Slytherin fun." She hadn't done anything in a while, what with her problem with Amber and all. But maybe it was one of those things to get her back to normal. They needed some fun, right?

“Throw a party or something. Couldn’t be too hard. Nearly everyone’s always in the common room after dinner anyway. Get a few elves to deliver, or send Ty and Nic down to the kitchens for some drinks and food. The only thing you need is a reason. ‘Else folks’ll take the butterbeer and hightail it to their dormitories.”
He thought about it for a moment before continuing, “Any good prank could be a great excuse for a party. Especially if it’s dangerous and hard to pull off. Better if it has to do with Gryffindor or some lion loving staff. Best if it involves a large number of Slytherins. A really large number. I could see that bringing people together. As long as loose ends are tied up, and no one blabs. You’d just need the perfect trick.”

((Thread crash! Hope ya don't mind ;D ))
Shoes with wheels? Who the heck ever heard of these things? The firstie recived them as a gift from her brother calling them "rollerskates'. What else will these muggles think of? Claire thought as she straped them onto her feet, which took a little whlie for a pureblood who knew nothing about muggles. Once the last strap was locked, the firstie stood up from the steps and managed to keep balance.
Then some unknown force came out of nowhere and pushed Claire down the corridor and into the trophy room. The girl never found out what pushed her, but all she heard was a crackle of laughter. "Whoa!" she screamed speading right past the other two Slytherins and raming straight into the wall.

(crash on! xD)
"You seem to have a good sense of what's needed," Charlie told him, thinking that the classics could hold them over and bring them all together again. She had a great time with her coincidentally Ravenclaw friends, but it was just about time that she buckled down and actually got to know some of the other snakes other than Dragos and Nic. "You feel like helping?"
Her answer wasn't quite coming from Mick but rather Claire, who zoomed by and had an unfortunate meeting with the wall. The impact had a bit of a reverberation among the trophies, but nothing was threatening to fall yet. "Hold that thought--" she said as she went towards the firstie. "You okay, dude?" she went on to examine her and glanced at her feet. "Skates? Where'd ya get those?" Charlie once had her own pair a few years ago to try to excel at her brother Mike's skill of skateboarding. They didn't last long, to say the least. She had just the same amount of curiosity (and pain) as Claire had.

Mick’s lips were just forming the words “Yeah, sure” when the young Slytherin came flying past them. Watching her slam into the wall it was all the boy could do to keep from bursting out in laughter. Still, he was sure there was a sliver of a grin spreading over his face. However, humour aside, he followed Charlie in approaching the girl, but when he noticed the skates strapped to her feet he couldn’t help it. A loud ‘ha’ popped out.
“Er-,“ he scratched his head, “you know, brooms work just as well. They don’t even need walls for breaking.”

Once Claire hit the wall, she fell back and hit the floor messing up her short hair even more. Then looking up she saw Charlie. "Hey captain...um my brother sent them to me." Slowly getting to her feet or at least her bum after slipping the the skates again. But hearing a loud 'ha' coming from the other Slytherin, Claire turned and glared.
"Think it's so funny do you. And I fly a broom just fine ask Captain!" she said.

"If ya ask me, then I'll tell ya that since you're more oriented to a beater position-- you're not too used to dodging," Charlie said rather truthfully. If qudditch advice was needed, she was there to speak it. Too bad it didn't support Trixi in the way she wanted to. Charlie shrugged. "I calls 'em how I see 'em."
"Okay, hold to my hand and we'll get ya up again in no time," she said, instructing her to do so with the flick of her hand. "I think you need to get the basics down on skatin'."
