Today would be a rather different day for Astronomy students. Solis was sitting at her desk in the middle of the large Astronomy classroom. The N.E.W.T.s class was very small, but she had something interesting in store for her few seventh year students. Waiting patiently for them, she sat her desk having her tea.
The class was being held during the day since they didn't need to observe anything in the night sky.

Ivy walked in and smiled softly at the Professor. "Good afternoon, Professor Solis," greeted Ivy. Slowly, she made her way to the first row and set her bag on under the desk. This class was probably the most boring class next to History of Magic, and Ivy tried very hard to stay awake.
Seeing that the class wasn't about to start very soon, she got out some paper and started to write a note to Beni.

Reina walked in rubbing her eyes. She looked quite upset and with very good reason to be. Reina sat down in a huff at her usual chair and complained loudly.
"You finally get used to get up in the middle of the night for, oh I don't know, 4 or 5 years and then some new Prof. comes along and decides class should be in the day. Messing up your whole routine of a nap in the middle of the day or just goofing off. Now all I get to do at midnight now is SLEEP! A day well wasted!"

Professor Solis, fed up with Reina's attitude, flashed those chocolate brown eye at the Slytherin. "5 points from Slytherin, I appreciate it if you speak in a civilized manner. Tongue in cheek will not be tolerated in this class," she said curtly.
She continued to glare at Reina before dumping a few packets of sugar and caffeine into her jasmine tea. Solis couldn't stand fresh students; her ego did not allow her to subject to any disrespect.
Students never respect their professors anymore...
(ooh, teacher-student conflict)

Reina rolled her eyes and sighed. She always berated her housemates for losing points and this wouldn't sit well with Reina. She would have to make those points up, but first....
"ARE YOU KIDDING ME!? I can't sit here and talk to my friend..." Reina looked at Ivy forgetting her name. They didn't really hang out. "... with my friend and because you overhear how dreadful your class is you dock me points. Oh my what if I thought Astronomy was dumb will you dock me points for that too? What If I thought your hair looked bad or that you looked too yong to be a teacher and wonder if the Headmistress swings both ways and that's how you got your position. Will I be docked for that as well?"
Actually Reina thought a little too late the last part she might actually get docked for and probably detention. She did go a little too far.
{Don't ya just love it!}

Solis didn't even bother to look up from her cup. Instead, she sighed softly as she stirred the teacup serenely with a spoon.
"Detention Ms. Diablo, no points will be docked from your House this time since Slytherin is desperate to keep its points. It would be wise for you to be cautious with your words. Words of haste can trigger severe consequences; let this be a warning to you. I will not tolerate your disrespect. Learn a little discipline—it will do you well.”

Detention already? Class hasn't even started yet! Kellen thought as he overheard the professor's statement. Uh oh. Reina looked upset. Kellen decided, probably wisely, that he wasn't going to get in the middle of this one. He simply took a seat and got ready for class, not saying anything. This whole Astronomy-in-the-afternoon thing was screwing him up enough as it was.

Allegra slipped in right after Kellen, taking her seat silently as the professor was obviously busy dealing with Reina. She followed Kellen's example and got her books and notes out, offering the boy a small smile.
After six and a half years of getting up in the middle of night for class, it seemed kind of odd to have Astronomy in the middle of the day and working around four different class times, it had screwed up the practice schedule, but they had managed to work it out. Now she'd have an extra hour to study. ;D

Kian had been a little surprised that they'd be having an astronomy lesson in the middle of the day that'd never happened to him before. So he wasn't sure what to make of this new professor not that he liked coming to class in the middle of the night but that made sense this didn't. He gave everyone a smile as he made his way into the classroom. Finding a seat he sat down to await the start of their lesson.

Reina glared at the woman. Her dark brown orbs growing darker and darker until they appeared black. Reina sat down, but her desk started to wobble uncontrollably as though all of Reina's rage and anger was trying to stay bottled up in her little body. Reina desperately wanted the woman to choke on that little cup of tea. Inside Reina was screaming with rage.
Detention! Detention! Over what? It makes no sense! The woman is seriously stupid. I didn't even do anything. I ...
It didn't let up as the desk slowly raised a few inches into the air and Reina's hair seemed to fly up a little as well as Reina continue to stare at the woman and get herself under control.

Setting her cup down calmly, Professor Solis stood up and walked to the front of her desk. Leaning slightly on her desk, she began to address her class. “Today we’ll be discussing the status of Pluto as a planet. Many of you may have heard about the argument of Pluto and whether or not it should be a planet. This is mostly due to the lack of a proper definition for a planet,”
Professor Solis stood up straighter and pointed to the rounded ceiling of the tower, allowing Pluto and its moon Charon, to be shown juxtaposed to its neighboring planets. “Alright, so the definition of a planet is…”
She pointed her wand at the board, which neat writing appeared. She had written out their notes earlier. “This is important, so you may want to write it down for future reference.” Even though the definition was written on the board, she recited the information.
“Someone please summarize what I have just said,” she said, looking at her students. "In your own words, and in plain English."

Kellen raised his hand. "It's something in space that's big enough to have a certain level of gravity, and which goes around the sun," he offered with a shrug. He was glad class was starting; he hated tension in classrooms. He generally just didn't want to deal with it, and now they could actually focus on learning. Even if it was the middle of the afternoon.

Reina slowly calmed down as the class began. It seemed all the diverted attention was helping even if she did only see the Prof. in red. Reina leaned back and sat back not really caring, but knowing if she left class she'll lose more points and as much as she hated to participate in class Reina had to earn the points back and more to get ahead. Reina rolled her eyes and felt her hair settle back down as gravity was returned to normal.

Ivy raised her hand, "But Professor? Why is there debate on Pluto considered a planet then? It does revolve around the sun...right?"
She was more upset at the fact that she could no longer use "My Very Intelligent Mother Just Served Us Nine Pizzas" to remember the order of the Planets. Stupid Astronomers always had to mess up with everything.
And since everyone is commenting about the drama, the writer of Ivy feels obligated to do so. Yes, there was indeed a lot of drama-- Professor Solis was a bit harsh, but Reina was being rude. However, that was just how Reina was, wasn't it? At the thought of serving detention with Reina, Ivy gulped a bit. Earlier she had been given a detention as well, there would be a big chance that she would have to serve it with no other than Ms. Diablo.

“Correct Mr. McCrea, take 5 points for Ravenclaw.” She said, pleased with Kellen. He had always been a very good student, and she was expecting great things from him in life. She saw a raised hand, and turned to her Hufflepuff student.
“Good question, can anyone please explain the current controversy for Ms. Xin?” she looked around her class expectantly.
