Rachel really didn’t want to combine her two N.E.W.T classes, but with the lack of sixth years, well, she was basically forced to. This year, Rachel had just one sixth year student, and she wasn’t planning on having a lesson for one person, it would basically be pointless. So, Rachel only now had four classes that she had to manage, after combining both the second and third years, and the fourth and fifth years. She deeply regretted doing so, but sometimes, there is just nothing you can do.
Assembling basically the same pack that she had for her fourth and fifth years, Rachel wrote each of her students names on the pack. She was giving out an A4 sized exercise book, with a magical pen for dictation, quills, ink, parchment, and the book with Stars and the Planets printed on the front in large letters. This was so the group could really revise for their NEWTs, and there would be absolutely no excuse as to why they couldn’t. Sure, they probably had half the stuff, but Rachel wanted to make sure that they didn’t treat Astronomy as the joke subject, and gave it the respect that she herself had for it.
Reading aloud, Rachel pronounced her name and instructions as to what to do. “Rachel Kinsley. Please take a seat and get everything out. The lesson will begin shortly.” The woman relaxed back in her chair, pulling out her book for some light reading before her students arrived. This was hopefully going to be a good class.

Drew hadn't actually made the OWL for Astronomy, seeing as it was his worst subject. He was fine with the theoretcial part, and could usually fake his way through creating star charts and maping mostly because he knew what they were supposed to look like, but when it came right down to it, he was hopeless with a telescope.
He had arrived to class early, mostly to remind Professor Kinsley about his request to sit in on her lessons. The good news was she had most definitely remembered. The bad news was she had assigned seats and he was apparently sitting right in front of the class.
The second bit of bad news was that, according to the syllabus, they were starting out with a practical lesson. It wasn't the best situation for him, but when it came down to it, he had asked to be there and he wasn't going to back out now.
"Good evening Professor," Drew greeted the woman, giving her a crooked smile as he took his seat and pulled his supplies out of his back pack.

Although the blonde did consider OWLs to be incredibly important, Rachel was one that believed in second chances. There may not have been sufficient teaching, the student may just have been tired from all their other courses, but Rachel didn't really care what their excuse was. She was happy to let students, heck, evn teachers sit in on her lesson, especially if there was a chance for them to learn something. She was happy, that there had been one student that had confronted her about this, and she was pleased to have let the boy come in, as there was no way Rachel was going to turn away anyone who had the will to study Astronomy.
Rachel smiled at the head boy that she had met on her first day back. "Good evening to you to, Mr. Thornton." She grinned politely, glancing up over her book. The Professor had delibrately sat the boy there, as she wanted to make sure he was easy to reach if he needed any help. Sure, he may breeze through this, but as he said that he wasn't the greatest at Practical, Rachel presumed that she would have to help the boy. "Oh um, there has been a slight change of plan. Today, we will be having a theoretical lesson. I know it said otherwise on my syllabus, but, heck. i don't know what I was doing when I wrote that." She smiled, turning back down to her book, waiting for the other students.

Drew gave a loud sigh and collapsed on his desk in a big show of being relieved. He had spent the last six years faking his way through Astronomy, hoping no one would find out his deep dark secret, but seeing as he had to tell Professor Kinsley and she was currently the only one in the room, it wasn't so bad joking about his shortcomings. If he could read it in a book or find it on a chart, he was fine... but as soon as he tried to sort out all of those white pricks of light up in the sky for himself, he was hopeless.
Perhaps things wouldn't be so bad this term. Kinsley seemed like she actually knew what she was doing, appeared organized, and didn't blow him off as a hopeless case. Maybe he'd actually learn more than the bright one was the moon and the red one was Mars... most of the time. Sometimes it turned out to be a passing plane...
"So...is this stuff for us to use?" he asked, noticing the pack of supplies with his name on it. That was kind of neat and something he really hadn't seen since grade school. It was kind of a cool way of giving everyone a present and at the same time making sure they didn't give the professor some lame excuse about forgetting their things.

So late of a time. But, a very interesting class. Through the last seven years at Hogwarts, Tristan had slept about a 1/4 of the time in the classroom. Mostly why he failed a bunch of tests in his fourth year, yet he still passed the exams. But, whatever. He crept up to the Assorted Towers and made his way to Astronomy classroom. Forgetting what they were going to learn today, more like he forgot the class, until he was awoken by a fellow Seventh Year. He got about 2 1/2 of sleep time, but if he had remembered, he would of went to sleep at 7 o'clock, instead of 9 o'clock.
Making his way in, he almost tripped, he was half-asleep, until he smacked himself about 10 times. He then suddenly looked to see who was here. It was just Drew and the professor. Making his way to wherever to sit, he waited for others to come.
