For once, Rachel wasn't in the best of moods. Usually she was great, she looked forward to teaching, to seeing her students, and to be up to see the stars. She had always, always loved her astronomy lessons, well, most of her astronomy lessons, when she was a student, and it disheartened her to see that her students didn't share any of the passion that she had held. It wasn't anything against them, and she was fairly sure that they didn't have somethign against her, but it made her less passionate about the subject. Rachel missed doing her other subject as well, but with textbooks that she had bought herself, she had continued learning new spells and potions.
Even though she was a bit down however, Rachel knew that she couldn't let that affect her teaching in any way. She prided herself on always being in a good mood for her lessons, even with the midnight start, but she had gotten to bed late and woken up early. She had been awake for almost 15 hours now, and she really needed her sleep.
Sitting down at her desk, Rachel picked up a pile of textbooks of the floor. Of course, she didn't use her hands, the young woman entrusted this task to her wand, and a trusty spell. With a light chuckle, expressing her love for magic, she placed it on the table in front of her. Casting her wand once again at the books, Rachel muttered her incantation at the books, and flew them around the room, dropping one on each desk. Finally, after she had picked up the books from the gorund, that had missed the table, she opened her own book, flicking directly to the page that they would be reading off. On the page in front of her, was a diagram of all the planets. They would be studying them today, and their homework would be what they didn't do in class. They would be making a one paragraph summary on each planet. Pretty simple, eh?

Jeremy stomped his way up to the top of the astronomy tower, planting each step firmly and loudly. He wasn't particularly upset, or at least no more grumpy than usual, but rather he was just enjoying the noise he made. An onlooker would definitely wonder how such a small boy could make such a racket.
Once he got to the door, he stopped his clomping, realizing the professor was already inside. Professor Kinsley was one of the few teachers he wasn't totally afraid of, but he still didn't want her to be mad at him. In a direct contrast to his climb up to the class, he slipped into the room without a sound, took his usual seat in front (he failed to notice the removal of the seating chart) and quietly took out his things. For the time being, it was just him and the professor there at the top of the astronomy tower.

Carys was really enchanted with Astronomy, she had really taken an interest in the class after the previous lesson. Carys had been silent and observant for the first two lessons, but tonight she was determined to speak up. Although she wouldn't be impertinent about it, she was just getting comfortable with herself and the class. The top of the Astronomy tower was such a pretty place. Carys was totally relaxed the minute her foot stepped into the class. The blond moved forward, noticing Professor Kinsley and Jeremy already there. The Gryffindor paused a moment, she had noticed the seating chart had been banished. Carys looked at Jeremy, a Ravenclaw she believed. She wondered whether to sit with him or choose an empty seat. The girl noticed that Jeremy tended to sit near his own gang of friends. That fact alone, swayed her into choosing an empty seat at another table. At least this would give her another opportunity to meet other students and get away from her comfort zone.
The midnight class may have seemed tedious, but to Carys she couldn't be more awake. It was steadily becoming apparent that Carys was more a night owl than an early bird. That thought brought a smile to her lips. Carys reached into her knapsack and took out her parchment, quill and ink stand. She quietly wrote the date and the words, Astronomy Lesson Three across in her billowy script. After finishing that she glanced at the book which had been propped open before her arrival. Carys scanned the text and noted that it contained information on the planets. The blue eyes widened with delight. This was going to be a good lesson, she couldn't wait to begin! The jolt of excitement surprised Carys and she wondered when her new found passion for Astronomy had developed. Not that it mattered, at least this was one class she wouldn't be bored with.

Devin both loved and hated this class. She loved finding constellations and hearing the myths behind them (some of which were truer than others). She had even been known to create a few constellations herself, using her artistic talent to pull dots together into new images.
However, she was very much a morning person. The rising sun was her alarm clock, even in the underground Hufflepuff dormitories. By the time this class started, she was nearly falling asleep in front of Professor Kinsley, and nothing she had tried stopped it from happening. A grimace and a flush filled Devin’s face at the idea of doing so again, and she was pretty sure Professor Kinsley didn’t appreciate it either.
The best she could do was arrive early and try to make a better impression that way, but it couldn’t be enough. Her practical grades were good enough, despite the fact she couldn’t understand astronomical theories, but the poor impression she gave off in this class probably sank her score every year. Even still, she trudged through the door into the classroom. She took a seat in a corner and tried not to be noticed as her eyes drooped. With only the professor and two other students, the room was quiet, and Devin began to fall asleep at the top of the Astronomy Tower.
