It was time to jam.
It had been a while since Guy had taken a visit up to the Room of Requirement to get his fix of drumming and he decided that the time was right. Not only that, but last year he and Celina had talked about having their own little jam session. So the time was right, and Guy had owled the sixth year that morning, the small little note saying,
He had made sure to grab an extra set of sticks so he could maybe show Celina a little bit of drumming. He wasn't even sure how to explain it to someone else, but he just assumed he¡¦d figure out some way to instruct her. It had been a while since he and Celina had hung out outside of class, so it would be fun for that. Plus the girl would be bringing her harp, which Guy hadn't ever heard her play before. From the Ravenclaw's enthusiasm about her harp the year before, she was pretty good. And even if she wasn't it would be something different from his normal jam sessions which he usually did alone.
He put the two pairs of drum sticks in his back pocket of his jeans along with his wand. Since it was after dinner and he didn¡¦t have to go to any lessons or anything like that, Guy had decided that getting rid of his robes was a good idea. Plus he couldn¡¦t imagine drumming being all too comfortable in a pair of wizarding robes. He tugged lightly on the bottom of his maroon shirt as he walked along a seventh floor corridor, waiting for Celina to arrive. Hopefully the jam session would be fun.

Celina had received the owl that Guy had sent her and had almost squealed with excitement. At the time the owl had arrived she had been hanging out with Felicity and talking about classes and homework. It was normal, and though it may have seemed boring to some, Celina enjoyed it. What she had really been trying to do was tell Felicity what happened with Connor in their meeting to discuss what had happened a few weeks ago in the History of Magic class, and yet, again Celina couldn’t get it out to her friend. She didn’t want anyone to dislike Connor, and yet, she still couldn’t talk to anyone about her own feelings. Celina was lost in herself, and couldn’t really talk to anyone about her frustrations it seemed. She hoped everything was all right, but she never felt completely all right.
So, when the owl had come and the excitement was upon her about the jam session, Celina shared that with her friend instead of the more serious topic. Felicity was excited for her raven said and told her that she should go and have fun. It wasn’t as if Celina wasn’t going to go, for she had been waiting so diligently for the opportunity to arise, but it was good to hear her friend say that she should go and relax for the night. Of course, she wouldn’t relax for the whole night, for there were many things to get done, but a few hours wasn’t going to hurt anything. Especially if she got to hang out with a friend that also was out of the loop of her normal ‘crowd’. Celina needed a change of pace… or at least a distraction.
Walking up into the corridor a bit after dinner, she had replaced her own robes with that of a pastel blue tank top and a pair of dark jeans. Celina tied her hair back, something she rarely ever did, with a black hair tie so that it was out of her face while she was learning how to play the drums, and also teaching Guy how to play the harp… that was going to be rather difficult, but Celina was up to a challenge. Most of all, she couldn’t wait to combined the sounds of a harp and a drum. It would be amazing and she couldn’t wait.
Guy was standing in the corridor waiting for her and she smiled as she walked up to him, doing a little twirl as she neared him and then stopping right in front of him. Her face was lit up, a huge smile gracing her features, allowing her dimple on her left cheek to show through fully. Her dark orbs in her eyes danced excitedly and her body already bounced slightly as she placed her fingers in the side loop holes of her jeans and stood somewhat crooked in front of the older boy.
“Hey, you,” she said softly, continuing to smile. “You never put a time in the owl,” she joked. “I was here at eight this morning,” she joked with him mockingly and giggled. “Just kidding. I figured you meant this evening.” Again, she laughed and shied away slightly, looking around the hall and sighing. “So, after you?” Celina asked.

Guy extracted a pair of sticks from his pocket and began tapping on the wall. He was imagining that he was sitting down behind a drum kit, jamming out. Only it was just a wall, so instead of various crashing and other noises, he could only hear the light clicking noise of the sticks against the old stone walls. He dropped the sticks and began tapping lightly on his legs, still waiting for Celina. He zoned out a bit, not realizing that Celina was actually already there until she started talking.
" Heeeeyy! " He called out to her with a grin to his friend, placing the sticks back in his pocket. He chuckled at her little joke and said, " Yeah, I was actually here at 7:55 this morning, so I must have just missed you. " Guy was never really picky about time and things like that, so he hadn't taken special care to write a time. After dinner, whenever. Both the Gryffindor and Ravenclaw commons were located in the upper part of the castle, so they were bound to run into one another some time or another.
Guy had almost forgotten that they were going to be entering the Room of Requirement. He had been in there several times before, mostly just to drum. It was a nice place. He passed by the certain part of the wall three times, thinking, ' I need a place for me and Celina to jam. ' He stopped pacing past the wall and watched as a door appeared. It was an old stainless steel door, looking very much like a door that would lead to the back of a theater or auditorium.
He pulled open the door and held it open for Celina, but not before taking a peek inside. It looked just like the high school auditorium that he had performed on a couple summers ago in California, his brother playing guitar and singing while Guy played drums. It had been a fun time for him to catch up with his brother. The stage lights were on, showing a red drum kit all set up on the stage. It was a nice set up, just how Guy liked it. He turned to Celina and grinned. " Bring your harp? " He asked.

Watching Guy walk back and forth, Celina smiled brightly, excited about playing her instrument with Guy. She'd played before with others, and in fact the last had been with Arianna in the room of requirement on the stage in front of all those people. It still boggle Celina's mind how they had all managed to get in there without her even realizing, but when she had opened her eyes, everyone who care about her and didn't care about exactly what she had done was there. It had meant to much to her. For it was then she realized that no matter what happened, the school was a united unit. It had filled her with so much relief and joy... and Alfonz had been there. That had to be the best part about it yet.
"Of course I have my harp," Celina said taking it out of her pocket and holding it up. It was small and fit between her fingers, shinning brightly. "I never leave anywhere without it." Of course there was more reason to that than just the fact that she could make music where ever she went, for the harp itself was fused with a magic that was unlike any other instrument. And it's powers, when combined with her own, made her feel safer and therefore, the raven girl never went anywhere without it. Smiling brightly, she took the first steps into what looked like a small theater and giggled, looking behind her to make sure Guy was with her.
"This place is really great. It looks perfect for sound the quality we'll want," she nodded her head and walked to the middle of the stage where a chair was set up next to the drum set. It was a perfect spot for her to set up her harp. Taking her wand out from her other pocket she pointed her wand and said, "Engorgio!" enlarging the harp as she did so. Looking at Guy Celina smiled. "So, were we going to play first or did we want to do something else first?" Celina asked, not caring which way they progressed with the evening.

Guy nodded his head at Celina, a small smile on his face as she reminded him that she never leaves without her harp. " Sorry, I forgot. " He said with a sheepish grin to the younger student. He only wished he could carry his instrument around with him at all time. It would make it so much easier for him to practice whenever he wanted instead of whenever he could find the time to go to the room of requirement.
He took his first couple of steps into the little theater behind Celina, letting the door fall closed behind him. Despite the quaintness of the small theater, Guy thought it was perfect. It wasn't too extravagent, but good enough for what they wanted. He walked, almost skipped even, over to the drum set and sat down behind it, his smile turning back into his old familiar grin. He took a minute to readjust one of the symbols height so that when he hit it, it wouldn't hit one of the other symbols located to it's left.
He started tapping lightly on the snare with his shiny red pair of drum sticks, almost missing what Celina said. " Oh, yeah. It's like the old auditorium I performed in a couple years back with my bro. We had some good times. " He told her with a nostalgic look on his face. He watched as she enlarged her harp. " Coolness. I dunno. Wanna just do our own things for a little while and then... play together? " He figured it would be fun to just jam alone for a little bit, then do whatever.

Celina liked the quaintness of the auditorium and when she heard that it looked like a place where Guy had played his instrument with his brother, Celina's smile grew as her eyes shut. She imagined that it was nice to have family that also played instruments and with you. Alfonz didn't play any instruments and usually just listened, but Celina never minded. She liked it when he listened to her, and Celina knew that he enjoyed the music. So, in the end it was all worth it. Another came into her mind at that moment....
She had made a pact with Connor, saying that if anything had happened to their friendship she'd have to get together with him and play the harp. Celina was thinking more and more how that would probably be necessary. It wasn't that they had stopped talking or anything, but there was always that worry that Celina had when it came to her friends. She just hoped she hadn't ruined everything when it came to their friendship... "I think that's cool about your brother," she said to Guy, snapping her thoughts onto the person she was with. "It must be amazing to have someone to play with."
Celina smiled and nodded at Guy's response to her question and she agreed. "Ok, no problem at all," she said sitting in the chair and getting behind her harp. She began to pluck at the strings lightly to check the tune, knowing that the dragonheart strings were always in precise tune, but it never hurt to check anyways. Gently, she leaned her head against the wood of the harp and stretched her arms, beginning to play. It was soft, but the more it sped up, the louder the instrument became. Of course, being of soft instrument just in general, it wasn't really all that loud. Not as loud as some instruments could have been.
Looking up nervously, Celina didn't know when Guy would want to play together and quickly added, "Just tell me when you want to try together." Celina threw a small and quick grin, before getting back to her playing.

A few minutes passed by before Celina said something about Guy's brother. The Gryffindor had almost forgotten what he had said and a confused look crossed his face. " Oh, yeah. He jammed out on the guitar and sang while I played drums. " He said, remembering the topic of conversation. " I jammed with some guys back home for a while. " He mentioned, tapping his foot down on the bass pedal and hearing the low sound of the drum.
He could hear the soft trickling sounds of the girl's harp just over the harsher sounds of his drumming. He wasn't doing too much at the moment, just randomly mixing in some beats with the bass and snare drums, and throwing in some symbols as well. It wasn't much, more of a warm up or a preview of what was to come. He liked starting off slowly and adding more and more interesting things. It created what Guy liked to refer to as texture. He could still the harp over what he was playing now. Ever now and then he would tap lightly on the edge of the head of the snare drum, producing a light clicking noise to go along with all of the other sounds.
He looked back up to Celina and ceased his drumming so he could hear her. " Oh, yeah. Whenever's good. " He said, brushing his hair out of his eyes as he spoke to her.

Celina nodded as Guy talked about his brother's and his last performance and leaned against her harp. The kid was a bit spacier that she last remembered him, but she smiled all the same, thinking to herself that it was probably the music making him that way. Music had a trance like effect on some people, and Celina knew that. She'd seen her big brother zone off many times as he had listened to her play her harp, almost as if it stimulated calmness within him. It was one of the few things that did that to him... and one of the things she knew that she herself kept as one of his secrets.
Breaking out of her own trance, she caught Guy say whenever was good for them to start and she shrugged. She was ready whenever he was... "I'm ready?" she said in a question like statement, almost as if she were more asking to tell her if she was or not. She didn't make the decisions normally, so being told to do so, especially in the presence of a male was just awkward for her. Celina looked back at her harp and giggled slightly. "Plus, I'm excited to start learning..." she said, almost wanting to hit herself for her cliched comment. When wasn't she ready and excited to learn? She was in Ravenclaw for just that very reason she supposed....

It was only after Guy stopped talking did he realized that he said jamming alot. But then again, he said dude and mate a lot, usually just not to girls. He shrugged his shoulders slightly in thought as he continued drumming, his right foot tapping on the bass pedal and alternating with his left foot on the cymbols pedal. He was sure to anyone who had never seen someone play a drumset before that he looked downright strange, his arms flailing about, his head nodding along to what he was playing. He stayed like this until he heard Celina answer that she was ready.
" Coolness. D'you want me to start playing and you join in or visa versa? " He didn't really have a preference. He grinned at what she said next, bobbing his head along as he nodded his head a couple of times. " Hey, yeah it'll be fun. So long as you remember that you might not get anything education from this. I'm a terrible teacher. " He said, tapping his drum sticks against his legs as he spoke.

Celina shook her head, in disagreement that Guy could be that horrible of a teacher. "I doubt that... you're always so insightful," she giggled, smiling and deciding what might be easier. "Why don't we try you starting, and then myself trying to follow and play along with you. I mean, if we're integrating rock and classical that's not classical rock..." she thought and then continued. "...then I think I'm going to have an easier time merging classical into your rock, rather than your rock into my classical." It sounded like a bad joke to this writer, but Celina said it all the same and smiled. It made sense to her and that was all she wrote.
Getting ready, Celina watched Guy for a moment, her smile only widening just enough to see the starting of a dimple on her left cheek starting to form. She was so excited, and yet, so focused. Celina wasn't sure if this would work at all or not, but even if she did learn how to play the drums out of all of this, then the day wasn't a total loss.
