Tianne's Sixteenth 9th of May, 7pm This was it; the birthday to top all birthdays. Well, thats what Matty was letting consume her mind, anyway. She had been planning, plotting, inviting and mustering up all the bits and pieces that would lead to her best friends sixteenth, which was coming up this 9th of may. It has taken her a good week, with several conversations with various friends of both herself and Tianne, to bring together just what would make this birthday stand out from the rest. Granted, turning sixteen was big in any language, but Matilda wanted the Ravenclaw's birthday this year to be one that she would fondly remember for the rest of her life. Not only did she deserve it because of the great person she was, but also due to all the different issues the two had been through this past year. Tianne's boyfriend having gotten up and left, as well as their other best friend going along with him. Dealing with the sudden shock of Matty's new, secret love interest had come as a shock; one that had nearly destroyed their friendship, but had since then been restored and fixed up. So really, Matty felt that as much as she wanted to put everything into this surprise party... she couldn't have really stopped herself, either. The teenager had sent out the invitations a bit over a week ago, and upon the days leading up to this Saturday night, the girl had hardly been able to keep a hatch on the subject. According to Tianne, Matilda was simply taking her to the Room of Requirement to hang out with a few friends, followed by a sleep over for the two best friends. Well, that was exactly what Matty had been promised for her fifteenth birthday this year, but thanks to her friends, she had also been thrown a surprise party. Being the youngest, this was a gift she had been both surprised and humble to accept, and had grown to learn that some lies, like not telling Tianne about her Hawaiian themed party, were for a good cause. So, after preparing her own costume, and sending out invites, that only left the actual party to attend to. For those who knew Matty, they were aware that she was able to muster up some great things given a short amount of time. On Friday afternoon, the teenager had come to the kitchens in source of help. She had pleaded the elf's to cater for the party, and had graciously offered to help in doing so too. Of course, they had politely declined her help, and thankfully, the girl had also realized that they wouldn't actually doing too much to disrupt their usual schedule. The room of requirement, as she had planned to use for the party place, would provide all the assorts of snacks and drinks needed. What Matty wanted though, was a personalized cake, and some extra tweaks to match her theme. The elf's had made everything well before time, and so Matty was able to head up to the 'come and go room' with hours before the party was to kick off. Thankfully, she didn't even have much of a job ahead of her, decorations wise. She just needed to focus on how exactly things needed to be set out. Matilda approached the room of requirement, still clad in her jeans and shirt, though a heavy backpack was stations on her back, filled with the extras she had. The girl poised her mind on exactly what she wanted, before walking past the wall three times. Almost immediately after the third stroll, a solid wooden door appeared. The teenager raced to it, opening it to have her eyes feast of the wonders of magic. She had distinctly remembered the last time she had come here with Emeric, and the room had turned into a beached landscaped. It was much the same this time. The room had expanded, so it was larger than any normal classroom at their school. As soon as she stepped inside, Matty could feel the soft smoothness of the white sand under her shoes. The walls were lined thick with real tropical plants; ferns, flowers, palms, lush grasses, all a mix of vibrant colors. To each side, she could see a path leading either way, which the girl assumed were probably more secluded places. The greenery around them stretched to tall heights, leading up to a silky navy sky, which was sprinkled with a dusting of silver stars. Opposite to Matty was the oceans, which like she had observed the last time, seemed to stretch off into the distance. Well, so far so good, and that was only the background. Looking around, the girl could see a circular table settled in the middle of the room. When she approached it closer, the girl discovered that it was in the shape of a Hibiscus flower, the bright orange petals forming places to sit at the table. Wooden stools of grass green was nestled around the large table, all sitting on a bed of sand. All around the table were platters lined with banana leaves, stacked with tropical treats. Not only were theres the usual party cakes, snacks and candy, but fruits, dips, and more sustainable finger food too. In the center of the table was the cake that her house elf's had managed to pull together. And now, in the kerosene lamps that poked out from the ground here and there, it looked even better. The cake was designed like that of a wedding one, though it was decorated to match the topical theme. The four different levels were all of different flavors too, the bottom being chocolate, the second being vanilla mud, the next being cheesecake and the top caramel swirled with marble cake. It was iced with plain frosting, though sugar sculpted palm trees and shells were placed according here and there. The top layer had also been crafted into a sandcastle, and the icing had been changed so it looked like actual sand, though it wasn't. Then, finally, nestled on opposite sides of the rain forest outer, were two wooden structures. On the right was a self-served bar, which was already chock full of drinks. These were all nonalcoholic, something that Matty had been sure to include in her wishes. The colorful and fruity drinks were served in cocktail glasses which were of different shapes and sizes. There were a stack of cut in half and hollowed out co-counts too, complete with different juices inside. Each drink also had a straw, a piece of fruit and an umbrella to match the concoction inside. Behind the bar was a fridge, which when opened, would prove a on-going range of the drinks people were requesting. On the left hand side of the room were the change rooms, which were also the two bathrooms; one for the boys, the other for the girls. When entered, it would provide the obvious bathroom needs, as well as a rack of swimmers and a stack of towels, if anyone did wish to go swimming. Really, all the little things that added up to this were perfect. The string of bright lights hovering around the trunks of the palms, the music that seemed to drift out of no where, which was very topical yet chirpy, the sand, the distant sound of the ocean, and the over-all co-ordination of the party and its decorations. Matilda couldn't wipe the grin from her face, as she stood there, dumbfound by how great this was all panning out. The girl now noticed the smaller bamboo closet to her right, which was labeled 'Lei's' and she couldn't help but laugh slightly. When opened, the teen found hooks, and what seemed to be an endless storage for coats, bags and whatnot else. So, now that everything had been set up, the girl went to get changed. Her costume consisted of a long, thick natural grass skirt, that hung around her feet, and was tightened with a trip of a strip of husky fabric. She then wore a top that was made like that of a bikini, though wasn't nearly as reveling as some she had seen before. The top was two large white shells, that were connected to white fabric that fastened like a halter-neck. Over that, the girl wore a yellow Hibiscus Lei, which helped to cover her tanned torso more so. The Lei also matched the shorter cut one that was tied onto her right wrists, which was mixed with a collected of shell, bead, and hemp bracelets, that also were accorded to those on her ankles, and around her neck. Matty's hair was left wavy, though her fringe was pinned to the side with a small orange-centered frangipani. It wasn't too skin-bearing, but enough to match the theme she had set. Now, the girl merely shoved her bag into the closet, though beforehand, she produce Tianne's present. This was placed on a table that had been conjured in her short absence, that was stationed on the right of the closet. Making a finally check over in her mind, Matty finally concluded that everything really was ready. And just in time, too. It was only about five to seven, so the guests she had invited would hopefully be turning up soon. Tianne, however, would be arriving ten or fifteen minutes after the set time, giving everyone enough time to arrive before the surprise was unleashed. Yes, the teenage was excited, because after all, her best friend was turning sixteen, and thanks to the help of the elf's (who she had made sure to leave thank you cards, and a set of new socks of each of them) her friends, and magic itself, she had whipped up a (hopefully) spontaneous party for the Raven. Matilda threw her shoes with her bag, before opening the door enough for people who were on their way to the party, to realize that it was open for entry. Now, all she had to do was wait for time to spin it's further magic. [Yeah... okay, I went a little over the top... Don't feel inclined to make your posts this big, let me assure you XD You may post arrving and such! If you're not initally invited, don't feel like you can't come along either, remember, the more the merrier! Enjoy! =D]

Henry had been checking his pocket watch every twenty minutes or so all day long. He knew he was being stupid, that checking and rechecking his watch wasn't going to make time move faster, although, he thought, it's doing a job of making time go slower. Indeed, by four o'clock he could have been seen in one of the secret passageways on the third floor examining the watch closely and tapping it to make sure it was still working. Nevertheless, six o'clock came and went, as did six thirty, and six forty-five, by which time, Henry was turning into Barnabas the Barmy's corridor, and looking for the door into the Room of Requirement. All day he had been trotting around the school in a full uniform, and that fact didn't change with his approach to the party room; His suit, vest, tie, and polished black dress shoes were impeccable...a little too much so, and the cloak that covered it all billowed behind him as he walked.
He passed Barnabas the Barmy, who was today being given a slight reprieve from his would-be ballet trolls, who were all so interested in the comings and going of the come and go room that they were ignoring Barnabas and his normally ill-fated attempts to teach them theatrical dance. He backed against the door, looked both ways down the corridor, then, in a flash, slipped into the room. What met his eyes effectively made his jaw drop.
He had walked out of Hogwarts onto a beach gilded with the light of the night sky; he was looking out onto a beautiful expanse of clear, calm ocean, and, he noticed, his back was turned upon a magnificent tropical forest. Kerosene lamps were dug into the ground all around, casting a warm glow over the table and the various structures arranged here. He looked around a bit; No one else seemed to be there, but he knew Matty must be here somewhere, it was, after all, she who had organized this, and it was surely she who had activated the room.
Figuring she must be changing or else out of Henry's direct line of sight, so he pulled off his cloak and, finding what appeared to be a closet, put it away on one of the hangers; The suit, on the other hand, was much easier to do away with. He toom out his wand, flicked it casually at himself, and the black slacks turned instantly into rather baggy khaki shorts, the vest, jacket, tie, and long sleeve whit button up transformed into a short sleeve button up with a pattern of Hawaiian flowers in vibrant colors, and the polished black shoes disappeared altogether, leaving him looking far more comfortable than before.
He pushed his glasses up the bridge of his nose with the index and middle fingers of his right hand, checked his watch quickly before tucking it, and it's chain away into his left pants' pocket, and pulling from his right pocket the neatly wrapped gift he had arranged for Tianne. He cast a glance around for where the other presents were hiding so that he could put his with the rest while he tucked his wand away into the pocket from which he had taken the small present rectangular present.

Drew wasn't about to miss a party thrown by Matty for Tianne. The two besties were a couple of the coolest girls at school and he wanted to make sure he got the chance to wish Tianne a sweet 16.
The tall Ravenclaw jogged down to the sixth floor, made his three passes, and entered the room to see an awesome sight. Drew lived at the beach back home and to see and smell and feel the familiar sand and sea made him smile. Of course, he shouldn't have been too surprised. He figured the Room would come through for Matty if she really wanted a Hawaiian themed event.
He was dressed for the occasion, wearing his blue hibiscus patterened Aloha shirt over a pair of white cargo shorts. The sandals on his feet would only stay there a few more minutes. It wouldn't be long before he had to dunk into the water.
There were only a few people in the room so the person he wanted to speak to first was easy to find. He made a beeline for Matty who was already talking to Jason. "Hey, everything looks awesome!" he told her with a wide grin, presenting his small wrapped gift in a gesture that asked where it should be placed.

Sure, Delilah had only met Tianne once, but apparently that made her elegable to get invited to her surprise sixteenth birthday party. Delilah was completely ecstatic to be invited, and considered a friend of sorts, to the fifth year Ravenclaw. Delilah grinned as she remembered running into the Raven girl, lost in the dungeons in sweats and a crazy do, and Delilah couldn't even call her crazy, because it turned out they were matching.
The small girl laughed as she got ready. She was also eager to meet Matty, whom she'd heard of, but still hadn't formally met. She must have been an awesome friend, to throw such an awesome bash for her friend. Delilah walked down the halls proudly in her costume and holding a parcel, that was obviously for Tianne, and grinned at everyone she passed... And boy was she getting some funny stares. Dressed in the typical Hawaiin skirt, she looked ready for the party. The only thing that was a little different than usual, was that her skirt had green glitter on it. Delilah was barefoot, and wore a white tank top, with a red lei around her neck.
Delilah passed through the Room of Requirement's door, and saw only a couple people had arrived so far. She smiled, passing by a couple students she knew, and only spotting Jason whom she knew. She approached the girl that an older boy was handing something over to. She assumed this to be Matty. "No kidding, everything looks fantastic!" She said, feeling like she was butting in a bit, but also hoping that they wouldn't mind. She too, handed over her gift, which was a shadow box. In this glass box, was the invitation she was sent, decorated with lei's and luao skirts, and tall palm trees. Delilah had always been crafty, and thought no one else would think of something like this. But more importantly, she hoped Tianne would like it, and always remember this party.

While Henry had entered, the Hufflepuff girl has been busying herself with looking to where one of the paths on either side of the room took her to. She had only inspected the one on the right, which had spun a trail through the rain forest area, and into a smaller clearing. This had a hammock tied between two trees, and on either side of those trees was a smaller kerosene lamp which didn't shed as much light as those in the larger, main clearing. It was a secluded spot that the girl had assumed had been lurking in the back of her mind when she thought what she wanted. Granted, Matilda didn't know if anyone would actually use the area, but it was always nice to have some privacy for those who sought it.
As she did emerge back out though, the girl caught sight of the Gryffindor boy. "Henry, hey! Nice to see you." she gave him a heartfelt grin, also including a nod with her greeting. Stepping closer to the center table, Matty did a final-look over of the decorations. Absently, she threaded the material flowers of her lei through her fingers. After a moment, she was then aware of someone else entering the party room. Jason, a Ravenclaw sixth year, and someone whom Matty had met a couple of times here and there had arrived. She shot him a friendly grin, nodding her head to his question. "She hasn't got a clue." the girl replied slyly. "I couldn't go telling her about this... she wouldn't have let me otherwise." Matty said, a laugh evident in her voice.
Next to rock up was Drew, also dressed in Hawaiian style like everyone else. Things were panning out perfectly; so far, so good. The girl took his comment as a compliment, a grin still playing on her features. "Yeah, I'm so relieved everything turned out well." Then noting on his motion as to where to put the present, the girl took a small step back, pointing over to a table next to the closet by the door. "Just on that table there. And if you wanna put any stuff aside, theres a closet too." she added. Upon another person coming in, Matty had to think for a moment to recognize just who it was.
She did figure out who it was, though, by the time the girl in a skirt kind of similar to her own joined their group. Delilah, as the teen had learned whose name was, had met Tianne briefly, though had been mentioned before. Of course, she had seen her around, though they hadn't shared any classes. The Slytherin seemed to be quite a nice girl, so there had been no second thoughts about inviting her along. She didn't mind that the girl had made her own input into the conversation, either, as tonight that was most welcome. "It does, huh? I'm so pleased with the cake. Those house elf's can weave magic, I'm telling you." sending another cheerful grin their way, Matilda could feel herself loosening up already. She knew tonight was going to be one to remember.

All in all, Emeric supposed he shouldn't have been too surprised to receive an invitation to Tianne's sixteenth birthday party. He was the girl's best friends boyfriend, and was still in the process of earning the title ' friend. ' Overall, Em was glad that he hadn't gotten the snub from the girl, even after Matty and Tianne's big blow out fight had ended. He scanned the invitation in his hands as he stood before the mirror, a package from his mother laying out on his bed. He didn't own any ' Hawaiian ' themed clothing, and on a whim he decided to write his mother about his predicament. She wrote back with a short letter, asking questions like, ' what kind of friends throw a tropical themed party? ' Em, as per usual, merely shrugged the questions off. He looked down at the invite once again and then glanced over to the clock on the wall. He had some time to spare but figured he might as well change and be on his way. The fourth year shed his normal attire in favor of a pair of blue and white flowered board shorts as well as a red polo shirt. Emeric looked down at the package and noticed a pair of leather flip flops at the bottom and shrugged before sliding them onto his feet. He flattened his hair down, gave himself a once over and grabbed Tianne's present before departing for the seventh floor. He worked his way up the many flights of stairs, noticing other people dressed in similar style clothing of himself heading in the same direction, presumably heading for the same destination as well. Em knew that Tianne was rather popular amongst the fifth years, but he didn't exactly know where she stood among the older students. The door remained from the last person entering the room and slid inside, amazed that his girlfriend had put all of this together. But at the same time, he wasn't surprised, as it was Matty after all, and she was capable of just about anything once she put her mind to it. He scanned the room, spotted a few familiar faces before sidling up behind Matty and kissing the girl lightly on the cheek. " Nice costume, love. " He muttered to her before smiling at the group at large.

Delilah nodded, and looked around absently, it was so gorgeous in here, pretty well everything that you could think of that should be tropical, was now here inside this room. She watched as a younger Slytherin boy walked up to Matty and planted a kiss on her cheek. Delilah grinned, not sure whether to think it cute, or walk away now and give them their privacy. The boy was now throwing a smile to everyone though, and Delilah thought that maybe he was done with the PDA. Delilah laughed on the inside, but it showed on her face. She wasn't trying to make fun, she was just really happy to be here. She looked at Matty, "Oh, I don't believe I've met your lover." She said, a big smile on her face, she was eager to meet everyone.

Guy wasn't much for parties, he didn't like getting dressed up in the slightest, and he really really really hated the whole stuffy stuck up kind of atmosphere parties sometimes had. From the invite to Tianne's Sweet Sixteen, though, Guy could tell that this part wouldn't be like that. At least, he didn't really think it would be. The Gryffindor grabbed his board and skateboarded down the rail of the staircase, for once managing to not fall off like he was normally used to doing. He tucked his present for the Ravenclaw girl under one arm and placed his board under the other as he pushed his way into the party room.
" Wooaaaah, mad awesomeness! " He said, mostly to himself actually, as he walked inside the room more. He noticed he was the only one wearing non-visible Hawaiian themed clothing, but his boxers were tropical, so he counted that enough. Other than that he wore his typical plain black shirt, ripped jeans, and black skating shoes. He lifted a hand up to brush his hair out of his eyes and readjust his beanie cap as he walked inside more, catching a glimpse of the goodies. Man, was he hungry.
Guy walked over to a table that was situated just to his left and placed the package on it, grinning as he did so. The gift was kind of off, and one that might make the girl a little bit uncomfortable, but it was pretty funny and she would get the joke. He hoped so, 'cause otherwise he might just be seen as a creeper and that wouldn't really do.

Okay, she was was trying to keep her mind on the conversation at hand, but Matty couldn't deny that she had a whole stream of thoughts going through her head. Among these thoughts were allot of questions, too. Who else was going to show up? What was the time? When would Tianne arrive? Would she like her present? Would a Professor stumble upon their party? What if someone else got her a gift similar? Was Em going to come tonight? Had she remembered to get a suitable costume for her friend? Yeah, she was still feeling a bit nervous about anything, and probably would until Tianne showed up. However, within a few moments of glancing around for a clock of some description, one of those questions was answered. "Nice costume, love." His voice was both rather comforting, yet she knew the manner in which he spoke. The girl felt the effect his small kiss had left on her cheek, and she turned her head slightly to look at both him and his attire. "Don't look too bad yourself." she confided. Matty let her hand find his own that was closest to her, linking their fingers loosely. At Delilah's words, the teenager turned, a smile on her face. Honestly, she was still getting used to having their relationship out in the open, after so many months of keeping things a secret. However, it was a relief to have that weight lifted off her shoulders these days. "Lover? I have no idea what you're talkin' about. Emeric is just one of my many fans." she jested with a dramatic roll of her eyes and an innocent shrug. Granted, she couldn't stifle the laugh that followed. Em would catch onto what she was saying, but the Hufflepuff hoped the older girl would understand the joke too. Really, she wasn't ashamed of their relationship or anything, but admitting to the Slytherin boy being her 'lover' wasn't something Matilda was common with. It was all in the process, she guessed. Her green eyes manage to snatch another dart around the room, spotting Guy, a Gryffindor she was aware that both herself and Tianne knew coming in. Well, that was a good handful of people already here then. Time lapses.*So this was it; they were down to the final minutes before Tianne was set to arrive. Matty had done the rounds for those who were here, the number having increased as time when by, and explained that things were going to be planned as the whole 'jump-out-and-yell-surprise' kind of thing. The teenager allowed everyone a good amount of time to situate themselves around the room, before magically enchanting all the lights to dim once Matty had left the room, and light back up once she entered again. Checking the time from a watch she had found nestled deep in her bag, the girl gave the thumbs up to everyone who was waiting for their 'signal'. Matilda was quick to change into her temporary clothes for when she met Tianne, which was with help from her wand. Now in a white and black dress that was suitable for the 'dinner' she had planned for the Ravenclaw, the teen exited from the room, leaving the door open a few centimeters so she could easy get back in. Keeping her fingers in the gap of the door, the girl looked around briefly for any sight or sound that could be Tee. She could hear footsteps from down the corridor, but it could be anyone. She just hoped it wasn't someone arriving late for the party, otherwise that may have seemed just a little bit suspicious. All she had to do now was watch out, and wait out. *I'm doing this to allow Tianne to come into the thread. In this case, we're just letting more people arrive so we don't have to drag out the thread up until it actually gets going. If you haven't joined the thread yet, feel free to either post that you're already there for the surprise entry, or you can join in after wards. Cheers.

On the days leading up to the day that Tianne was so excited about, she had done nothing. She didn't want to be the kind of person that wouldn't shut up about her up and coming birthday, but she was hoping that no one let it slip either. True, most people that Tianne knew wouldn't have even known that her birthday was coming up, let alone the fact that it was her sixteenth, but she was hoping that after this, they'd know for sure. Tianne didn't want a party, she wanted to spend the day with her best friend, and maybe a selected few. This wasn't anything against those that she liked and considered herself to be friends with, but she wasn't the 'party' type. Tianne was quiet, and usually quite withdrawn. She wasn't as bubbly, outgoing and even creative as her best friend and partner in crime, Matilda Wentworth, and Tianne was kind of hoping that Matty didn't have anything planned. But don't think it didn't cross her mind many times. Tianne knew that Matty was good at these sort of things, parties and all that jazz, but after being told that there wasn't anything, and to expect a cool present, from the girl, her thoughts had been immediately killed, and she didn't expect anything from the girl. But it was selfish of Tianne to think that people would go out of their own way to do something for her, she wasn't anybody. It wasn't as if Tianne was the queen, the emperor, she was just a girl in her fifth year at magic school. She wasn't anything special. But nevertheless, the upcoming prospect of her birthday was exciting. She couldn't wait to get the package from her parents, her sister and Liam. Tianne wasn't expecting much, but if it was anything as good as last years supply of lollies, a new journal and letters from her friends, then she would be the happiest girl in the world. Just thinking about this made he girl anxious, but happy nonetheless. She didn't want to seem spoilt, but she was going to be sixteen! This was a milestone in any culture, or so Tianne thought. So on the morning of May the ninth, 2009, Tianne let herself sleep in a little bit. There was no harm in getting the amount of sleep that she needed. She wasn't expecting anybody to remember, so when there wasn't a pile of presents on the end of her bed, she wasn't that disappointed. Getting herself up, and dressing herself in a comfortable pair of jeans, and an apricot colored singlet, Tianne was greeted by a familiar face, the owl from her nanna's house. Grinning as she took the package from the owl, and gave it a pet, Tianne threw the present down on the bed, before rubbing her hands together and giving a laugh. Opening it to find a set of letters, from each of the family members, her friends, and John of course, as well as a set of books written by her favorite author, Jodi Picoult, and a decadent supply of sweets that Tianne knew would be put to good use with herself and Matty. for the rest of the day, Tianne knew that she wasn't planned for anything, and just decided to lounge around. She stayed in her dormitory, reading the letters, all 17 of them, over and over again, with a smile on her face, laughing at the jokes that they contained each and every time, and waiting for the clock to tick over to seven o'clock. At 6:20, Tianne jumped in the shower, though thanks to her already having showered that day, it was shortlived. Dressing herself in a dress that she probably wasn't ever going to wear again. but she felt was suitable, without being too dressy, by the time 7:15 came, she was ready to leave the Ravenclaw Common Room. Going directly to the seventh floor, where she was to meet Matty for her birthday night, Tianne was happy to see that her friend was already there. "Am I late?" She asked, almost in horror. Giving her friend a hug, relieved that she had dressed in the same sort of dressy but on the casual side style. "Wait." She said, pausing quite suspiciously, the kind of pause that could make Matty think that Tianne knew what was going on. "You're early! I'm not late!" She said, poking her tongue out playfully.

Emeric turned to look at the girl who addressed Matty, although she spoke about him. A small smirk rose to his lips, although it faded into a grin as he laughed at Matty's response, sidestepping around his girlfriend to extend a hand to the older girl. " Emeric Troy the Third. President of Matty's fan club. " He said with a joking smile to the girl. Hopefully she wasn't dense and understood their little joke.
Minutes passed by and soon Emeric found himself crouching behind a table in attempts to hide from Tianne when she walked into the room, whenever that would be. He watched as Matty carefully slipped out of the room to wait for her friend in the hallway. The Slytherin looked around the room, wondering if this was the party. He didn't mind small gatherings, but bigger ones tended to bring more fun. But then again, it was Tianne's birthday, and he was almost sure the Ravenclaw would be fine with the amount of people that had shown up thus far. Emeric looked around still, waiting somewhat patiently.

Drew gave Matty a crooked smile and went over to put his small box on the designated table. He kicked his sandals against the wall and fought the urge to just dive into the water. It wouldn't look well if he got soaked before the guest of honor even showed her face.
It was easier to stay as far away as possible from the shore and Drew hung out by one of the farther refreshment tables. He was starting to feel a little out of place, being the oldest one there, but relaxed a little when Guy showed up. Drew really hadn't spoken much to the Gryffindor, but knew he was a pretty good guy.
And then it was time. Matty gave the directions, and slipped out of the room, leaving the guests to find a place to hide. As tall as Drew was, it was easier said than done. He resigned himself to leaning in a dark corner out of the sightline of the door.

The small girl grinned, pleased with both of their responses. Both smart and witty, and with that, she liked them already. Delilah shook the boy's hand, and then introduced herself, "Delilah Morine the first, Slytherin. I havn't met either of you until now, but the Fan Club sounds like it's going quite well." She winked at the both of them and laughed lightly. So far so good, she wasn't making a fool of herself, and people were getting along fabulously.
Eeek! Lights out! Delilah had scampered away from everyone and proceded to hide behind a rather large palm tree, and seeing as she was small in stature, it was the perfect spot, and she could still see when Tianne entered, and surprise her! And if it wasn't the birthday girl, then she'd still be able to see them just as easy, holding back her surprise. She could just picture it now... One of those sitcome kinda things... That would suck.

Grinning at both Emeric and Delilah, Matty let a small bubble of laughter admit from her mouth when the boy added his name, and presidential status of her 'fan club'. At the older girls comment, the teenager nodded with another chuckle. "Oh, it's going grandly. Especially with Emeric being the new President, he's so efficient." she joked, still playing along with the banter they had going. In all honesty, she wouldn't so much as think about taking the boy for granted, given their situation, but it was good to know that both of them could joke around like this without having to worry. Waiting for Tianne to rock up didn't take very long, half a minute, at the most. She was spot on time, which was something really handy Matty had observed about her friend. It was great to see her again, even though it had only been a few hours since they had last spoken. Of course, the teenager had come around to visit her best friend during the course of the day, knowing full well that she couldn't wait until until seeing her that night. Although, she still hadn't given the girl her birthday present that had been tucked away at the back of her wardrobe for about a week now. Well, actually, she hadn't given either of the birthday presents she had gotten the Ravenclaw to her just yet, for there was that whole 'suspension' act to build up. Seeing her now though, Matilda was quick to jump to hug her buddy. "No way am I early! When have I ever been early?" she grinned in return, removing her hand from the door, taking her free hand from behind her back to revile a small silver card that read the following: Dear Tee, Thanks for being the best friend ever. Love you 'till the end, Matty ♥A matching silver box tied with a blue ribbon. Inside, was the first of her twin presents. When Tee was to open the box, a blue locket that was trimmed with gold, hung on a hold chain and had a center piece of gold, beaded with diamond-like jewels would be reveled. Inside, placed on either side of the locket, was a picture of Matty and a picture of Tianne. Both of these pictures had been taken last year, when both girls had gone to Ireland to visit their former best friends, Ryan and Seth. And as a token, to show that the Hufflepuff was just as thankful for their friendship, hanging around her own neck was a green locket which was styled in the same way as the blue one. Inside also held the same two picture of both teenage girls. Matching best friend lockets; classic, but with style. The two lockets had actually been acquired by her father earlier that year, when her family home had undergone renovation. In the few boxes left of her mothers memories, Cedric had found a jewelry box filled with trinkets and pieces that were originally distended for Matty that Rebekah would have given her, had she lived on to see the day. Upon seeing the matching lockets, her father had notified his daughter of the discovery, and asked if she requested them for anything, naming for herself and Tianne, knowing that Matty shared a bond closer than some sisters with the Ravenclaw. After being sent them later last month, the teenager had decided on the Blue for her best friend, it being her favorite colour, and also her house colour. And although green didn't have any specific ties to Matilda, she did have to admit it was of her favorites. Honestly, the girl hoped her friend liked the locket, and this gift as a whole. Even still... there was another to come.
