Allegra wasn't usually the party planner in the family. That was Drew's department. But with a slow and dreary start of the year, the 20 year old was ready for a little excitement, and from what she had heard in the halls, so were a lot of other people. Doing her best to spread the word among her friends and some of the students she still knew, she thought this makeshift Halloween party would be a nice time to relax and have some fun.
With relaxing in mind, she had dressed with comfort in mind, dressed in black warm up pants, a black sweater, and a pair of cat ears perched on her head. She hadn't bothered with the whiskers or tail, knowing the ears were probably enough to get the idea of her costume.
With three passes in the hall, the door to the not-so-secret room opened to a perfect set up. Lit pumpkins drifted overhead and bats fluttered through the air, giving the room the proper holiday feeling. Tables were set up at the far end of the room and house elves were already setting up treats to satisfy the guests. While the dance floor was the centerpiece of the room, there were intimate sitting areas around the perimeter, some cozy enough for two and others large enough to seat up to ten comfortably. The room itself seemed to be playing DJ, and Allegra knew that give the guests the music they needed. She didn't worry too much about where the music was coming from, knowing the room would take care of whatever was needed for the occasion. As she thought of her favorite Wizarding artist, the song came on. Taking a couple of twirls by herself on the dance floor, she didn't even hear when someone else showed up.
{OPEN TO EVERYONE!!! COME PARTY! ;D }

Catching wind of the excitement to take place that night, Brenton just couldn't resist. Hiding out away from everyone (having felt a bit of a head cold and a strange bout of homesickness come on), the Prince was ready for some sort of excitement. Jeremy told him during a class that a old Head Girl was putting it on, so he figured there couldn't be much trouble to get into, and planned for a week what to wear. It was a Halloween party, so that meant you had to dress up in costume, despite what his friend said about it all being optional, and Brent had done his best to convince his mate of the same.
Putting his costume on, he knew he stuck out like a sore thumb, and instead opted to take the costume off and put it on when he got to a restroom closer to where the party was to be held. Would anyone recognize him? How could they unless they knew him really well? Or one of this Slytherin brethren caught a glimpse of it. Oh, how fun this was going to be!
Reaching the bathroom, Brenton slipped in, slipped on his costume, and slipped right out. He couldn't wait for reactions, or for someone to recognize him even! Walking to the door Jeremy told him would be there, Brenton entered, a huge smile on his face, unfortunately, there was only one person in the room. Great...
(Those that post afterward may "create" a costume for Brenton (as I'm rather stuck at the moment) or just post reactions and I can work off those xD)

Delilah wasn't too sure about this. She wasn't sure if she was ready to dress up in a costume and go out in public wearing it... Yet again, she didn't expect anything of the things that had been going on this year. Some was good, most was bad, and she was getting so sick of waiting for someone to do something fun already. Wasn't this supposed to be Hogwarts anyway? Delilah slipped on her golden mask and grinned at herself, a stick of red lipstick drawing over her lips. Of course, the lip stick was doing the drawing, by itself, seeing as Delilah didn't have the steadiest of hands, she'd use her magical abilities to her advantage. She wasn't totally sure who may or may not be out tonight, be she may as well do her Head Girl duties in costume. 'Tis the season... or was that saying reserved for Christmas?... Anyways, Delilah had been wandering the halls, and watched a younger boy from her very own house, step into the Room of Requirement. Perhaps something interesting was in there. This could very well have been the fun she was seeking. Delilah rapped on the door and poked her head in, mask over her face so she was somewhat unreckognizable. Of course, if anyone knew her well, they'd know she was small enough to pass for a fifth year, and if she were to snort laugh tonight, they would know it was her. Delilah scanned the room... Hmm, seemed as though the party just begun. Or had it just arrived?

Halloween. Of course it was a major even in the Muggle Community, and since Matty had come to Hogwarts, she had learned it was the same sort of deal. Granted, half of the costumes Muggles used to dress up in were actually a reality in Wizarding life, such as witches, wizards, ghosts and ghouls. As a child the Hufflepuff had grown up with this costume, and that didn't change even as she was enrolled into school. There had always been feasts or dances announced for the whole school to join into. So it was rightful to say that when nothing of the sort was being held in the great hall, as it generally was, the teenager was disappointed. It was always a fun occasion to dress up and go out for a night of fun, and Halloween had always been just that. However, knowing everyone else was keen on the tradition too, the girl hadn't entirely lost all hope. So when she heard mention of a party Allegra Thornton was putting on in the Room of Requirement, she was glad she hadn't been let down. The girl had trusted her step-mother with a choice of costume, having not been satisfied with her own decision, and again, was not let down with Ellie's choice. When the night came it didn't take her too long to get ready, as the costume for this year, a Lifeguard or Lifesaver, depending on where you came from, was simple, yet original. For the night she wore the typical surf rescue shirt, complete with red shorts and flip flops. She let down her curl-strewn brown hair, and rolled up the sleeves to the shirt, to help reveal her tanned skin. Since she had gone back to school, her skin had turned creamier rather than darker, so a simple tanning spell over her entire body had fixed that for the night's occasion. To finish off everything, the girl had also hung a silver whistle around her neck, drew a line of white zinc cream across her nose, and slung a flotation device over her shoulder. With her costume done, the Hufflepuff walked out of her common room confidently. She had never been hesitant her reluctant to walk about the school dressed up on Halloween - that was half the point! She got a couple of waves, and a few giggles from the first years that mightn't have been so familiar with her dress up, but at Matty's age, generally everyone recognized a lifeguard - or so she hoped, and if not, she was stressing the muggle aspect of a lifeguard. The girl made it up to the seventh floor, and approached the door a couple of minutes after her Head girl had done so. When stepping in, a grin automatically spread onto Matty's face. It took her a moment to scan over the lack of attendants so far, but no worries - it was sure to pick up. Slowly, the teenager approached a shorter girl, who was probably her age or a little younger. "Cool costume, I love you dress." she said in a friendly tone with a nod. Little did the Hufflepuff know the girl was her friend, Delilah, but hey, finding your friends under costumes could be half the fun of a Halloween party, right? costume: click < without the hat flotation device: click

Derrick Breckenridge was never really one for parties. After all it was in fact a social event and well when one thought of Derrick the first word that sprang to mind wasn't exactly social. Actually it was quiet and awkward that came to mind when one looked at Derrick so him at a party was just bound to seem out of place. Derrick though as he sat in the common room slung his costume on and that was exactly what he did. Slung was being a bit too nice of term in this situation. It was in fact more of a hefted. It wasn't that the armor was in fact heavy but the chain mail that he had placed on himself took some getting used to and putting on the armor itself was a new experience. Derrick really had no idea why he had decided to wear the costume other then the fact that he liked the way that it had looked and really what more reason did anyone need then that? That was after all the reason Derrick usually did or looked at things because they interested him. Wasn't that the reason everyone did such things. Derrick now though stood and adjusted himself finding that the armor now wasn't as bulky as it had originally seemed and with a nod to Niwa shot his cat a small smile. Simply for the reason that he may at least manage to move around without looking like a total idiot at this party. Walking down the stairs though Derrick felt any confidence he was mustering slip out of his fingers by the time he was at the doorway out into the halls. Unfortunately as Derrick walked the halls and climbed up the stairways to the party he found it impossible to gain any of that self confidence back especially since a feeling was growing in his stomach that Maddyson was going to be there and if she was what would he do if? Asking her to dance was out of the question seeing as he would have no idea to do it. Granted he seemed to find his voice around the girl but that didn't mean she would somehow enable his ability to dance if he in fact had that ability. Derrick doubted that he in fact had that ability. Entering the room he saw a woman he didn't know dancing freely in the middle of the floor and found himself envious of her ability to do so. If he in fact could do so with out worry Derrick would join her but that really wasn't in his power so to speak at the moment. Sighing Derrick made his way over to the chair sitting down calmly and looking around the room absorbing it all. It really was a beautiful set up and the woman whatever her name was had done a wonderful job putting it all together. Derrick though noticed that some people were in fact there besides the dancing girl. One of which was in fact Matilda who was talking to a girl that Derrick could only assume to be Delilah. He said could only assume for the sole matter that the costume made it in fact hard to tell whether or not it was in fact her but for the time being he would just assume it was until he was in fact proved wrong. Derrick now though noticed Brenton and a small knot tied in his stomach. Where as Derrick got knots from Maddyson they were in no way the same knots if anything these knots were quite joyless. Hate was probably too strong a word but it seemed to fit the feeling that he developed when he laid eyes on Brenton. Derrick though let these thoughts drift and looked away from the boy forcing thoughts of Maddyson and the girls lovely face into his head. They made everything at the moment seem so much easier and looking up he gave Matilda a small wave. Relaxing in the chair or at least attempting to do so in the bulky armor Derrick waited hoping that Maddyson's face would soon appear in the room. Costume Example here and not the girl -_-

Halloween parties were for stupid kids and Jeremy wanted no part of it. But when he brought it up to Brenton, the Slytherin said he wanted to go so Jeremy figured he might as well also... just to make fun of all the dorks dressed in costume of course.
But he didn't want to stick out either. He chose to dress in all black: tennis shoes, socks, track pants, and a hooded sweatshirt. He would have topped it off with his cloak if he didn't think it would be too warm. Besides, he now had a few more options as to what he actually was.
The door seemed to be left open and Jeremy peeked in cautiously. As he had suspected, a bunch of loser kids who had nothing better to do. He wondered only for a moment if Brenton was there yet, but then recognized him immediately. He was the only one who seemed to be ignored by everyone else in the room. Jeremy wanted to run over to his only best mate, but thought it was better to play it cool. Maybe it wasn't actually Brenton he was approaching.
"Hey. Cool costume. It looks like someone threw up on you," he said, toeing the fine line between awe and boredom.

A small knock on the door made Allegra pause in her solo dancing and she smiled and waved in the girl who was there. The older girl didn't know if any of the students actually knew who she was, but she knew quite a few of them. The first was the Head Girl followed by the Huffle Quidditch Captain. Another look around the room and she realized a small something or other had already slipped in without her noticing. So much for being a good hostess.
The two girls seemed to be getting along fine and another entered the room, waved, and went over to a table. Allegra debated for a moment as to which way to go and when her cousin showed his face (she was pretty surprised to see him actually) she opted for the two boys.
"Hello," she greeted the two simply. If the other boy was anything like Jeremy, they'd both balk at anything more exuberant.

Jason liked Halloween, though the whole dressing up thing did not really appeal to him, but the opportunity to hang with his friends was all he needed to enjoy the party. He had on a pair of blue jeans and a plain gray t-shirt. He walked up to the seventh floor then popped his head inside the room of requirement and looked around. He saw a few Slytherns, Matty, and another kid from her house, Jeremy from his house, Drew's older sister, and then his eyes fell on Delilah. Now he thought about leaving, Because if that 5th year showed up, there would more then likely a conflict, and he didn't want to bring the party down. He decided to slip just inside the door and leaned against the wall and watched the party.

Delilah grinned broadly at Matty and thanked her, she was glad that at least one person liked the effort she had put in when it came to looking great for Halloween. Delilah watched as others came, and either sat or stood and leaned up against the wall. She shook her head, wondering why the older girl was the only one partying it up by dancing. Delilah shrugged and brought her wand out, give it a few waves, a set-up for limbo appeared, totally decked out. The two poles that were veritcal and keeping the horizontal pole in place, had small jackolanterns on the top, and the poles themselves were striped orange and black.
Delilah grinned, this wasn't bad magic if she did say so herself. She glanced around the room, "Anyone up for some limbo?" She asked in a voice that was almost as loud as a yell. This was a Halloween party for goodness sake, there was no room for unmoving people. She spotted Jason and grinned, giving him a small wave, before she herself stepped up to the limbo pole, and walked right under it, staying completely upright.

"Yea thin' so?" Brenton asked with what would've been a grin if he dared show his teeth in a smile. Deciding to use some magic, a very long and boring way of getting one of the professor's to help him, Brenton had decided to make his costume to look and feel like jelly (jell-o). Large, jiggly squares and other such shapes surrounded the boy. Colors of orange, green, pink, and red were all wiggly around his body, even his eyes were covered in squares of the stuff, wearing them as sunglasses. He thought he was pretty cool looking.
Having been thrown up on wasn't exactly what he was going for, but he figured that was because there were little bits of other colors inside the large chunks of jelly-like substance he was covered in. The feeling was like a ripple of cool water flowing over his body, honestly, he rather liked it.
But when Jeremy's cousin approached, Brenton stood more of attention, saying a quick "hello," in return, and focusing his attention elsewhere. What if she told Jeremy he wasn't really what he knew he was?

"Yeah," Jeremy answered, letting his guard down just a little to show how impressed he was. He still wasn't exactly sure what Brenton was supposed to be, but it was pretty cool what ever it was. He was starting to wish he had been a little more creative with his costume than just wearing all black. The good things was, it was a very versatile "costume" and it was perfect for not being noticed.
Except Allegra came over so he knew he wasn't totally invisible. "Hello," he answered back, wondering if he was supposed to introduce her to Brenton. His buddy looked uninterested, but Jeremy did it anyway. "Allegra, Brenton. Brenton, Allegra." There. His duty was done.

Halloween and mischief generally went hand in hand. So it really was a shame that Connor couldn't figure out a somewhat decent costume let alone a nice prank to liven things up if the party got dull. He didn't doubt the hosts and all that, but most parties generally had a point where they started to lag, regardless of the host people's efforts. Usually it was the guests fault, but Connor didn't want to blame anyone quite yet until he got there and assessed the situation. Maybe there would be no need for him to pull out some of the pranking necessities ( balloons, paint, magical ' silly string, ' the like ) because his supplies were running a bit low. His morals of planning ahead must've been lacking as well because just three days ago he had owled his family, asking for them to send some sort of halloween costume. He got his response yesterday in the form of a pirate costume. He assumed the alias Cap'n Crunch and headed on down to the party. The seventh year was rather glad that he had forgotten to shave the past week, it gave him a bit of a rugged look that he assumed most pirates had. He even donned the eyepatch, knowing that while the costume was sort of generic, it was still fun anyway. He walked up to the seventh floor, winking jokingly at a couple of passing fifth year girls who were staring at his attire as he walked by. Connor walked the familiar route to the room of requirement and let himself inside of the room, a grin plastered on his piratey face. Connor looked around the room / dance floor / relaxing area, pleased with the results of the get together thus far. It was only starting up, but he was doubting the need for a good prank to move things along. It looked good, and he was impressed.

Delilah felt a little defeated. There really wasn't anyone speaking to her, and no one really seemed to be wanting a limbo competition. She shrugged and walked away from what she thought was a grand idea, and went to go sit on a chair, that had been transformed into a huge pumpkin. Once she sat down, she sighed, and watched as the few people in the room moved about and interacted, wishing that someone, at least one person, would have joined her, because more often than not, it only takes one to start the domino effect. Had someone joined, pretty soon almost everyone else would have.
Delilah watched the door open again, and spotted one of her closer friends Connor. She perked up, and waved profusely at him, truly impressed with the costume he had on. Yet as she waved, the pumpkin Delilah was sitting on started giving way ever so slightly, as though it were about to cave in. She started noticing her feet slowly rising off the floor, and her bottom starting to feel more trapped, but then the sinking stopped, and she was half in, and half out. Delilah sat in the pumpkin awkwardly, and tried not to laugh. These things always seemed to happen to her.

Jovially, Emma found her way down the staircase from Gryffindor Tower to the seventh floor. The talk of a Halloween party had spread like wildfire throughout Hogwarts. Which was laughable if it was supposed to just be a small gathering. A secret in Hogwarts seemed more like common knowledge. Even she had been able to establish that as fact in her time at the school. However, since she hadn't heard any news of a cancellation she had decided to check it out. As for a costume, the girl hadn't had much to work with. She had spent the afternoon digging through her trunk in an attempt to create a good outfit. Although, nothing seemed to really fit. For a while she had been set on wearing her bed sheet with two eye holes cut in it. She had nixed the idea after remembering that there were actual ghosts in the castle, knowing it would probably offend them. Mercifully, Emma found some old baseball pants and a jersey balled up in the corner of her trunk. She laced up a pair of Keds to match and pulled her hair through the back of a red cap to top off the look. She thought about carrying her glove with her but nixed the idea at the last moment. Instead she borrowed another girl's black eye shadow to make two matching black smudges on her cheeks. The look was pretty solid for something coming out of her trunk. Although, she wished that she could have found shoe polish for her finishing look. She figured that the eye shadow the older girl had given her worked well enough. Following the procedure that Emma had been told to, she walked into a modestly decorated room. Straightening her ball cap, she walked along the edge of the room to clear out of the doorway. Costume Please forgive my lack of artistic ability. -_-

Just as her life had hit the fast lane, it seemed like her sixth year was about to end, it had gone so quickly, Tianne found herself running out of time. She needed something to help her keep track of time; something better than a watch, after she had so hopelessly thrown hers out in a state of despair. She couldn't be bothered to get a new one, the school bells system was enough to get her through until she was safely back at home.
Having recieved information about a Halloween party that was taking place in the Room of Requirement, Tianne was thrilled to finally have something to look forward to. She spent her free period designing and crafting a costume that, although wasn't out there, allowed a flexibility for her actions, so if no one actually dressed up, she'd be okay. It was stupid to think that she was holding back like that, but she just wasn't in the mood for dealing with all those... things.
Her make up perfectly done, her skin made to look flawless, Tianne was finally ready to attend the party. Her lips were a perfect pink colour, her eyes bright and her hair was perfectly tied up and curled. She wore a pair of blue skinny jeans, that were rather tight on the petite girl, and her shoes were somewhat childish, just plain, hot pink heels. Tianne pulled on the sleeves of her jacket, plastic-y and pink, it wasn't comfortable at all. So can you guess what she was dressed as? Yep, she was a doll.
Hesitantly wandering in the door, her lips curled into a pout, Tianne couldn't help but smile as she caught the eye of Matty. Making a bee-line for the girl, Tianne noticed the other costumes around the room, some of which were absolutely amazing. How could people come up with these sorts of things, let alone pull them off?
