"Kind of, but not really," she told him, neither confirming nor denying whether it was. Truth be told. she didn't know how it usually went when it came to training squirrels. "He seemed to stay with me pretty easily, but that could've been because I didn't give him too much of a chance not to. Whenever he tried to run away, I chased him and caught him." And then she thought about it, actually Sammy was easy to train, much easier than she ever would've thought possible of a wild animal. "Though, he liked to bite, and now and then he does to, but not nearly as badly as he once did."
After he agreed and released her hand, Felicity spun around moving her hips to music only she could hear. Her excitement was exploding in her and she loved that particular feeling. Guy was going to teach her something brand new and she loved learning.
"I'm right handed, but left footed," she told him, not at all surprised by the question. When it came to sports, she knew it mattered. Actually, she even batted left handed when it came down to that, but she threw and wrote right handed. With soccer and kick ball she relied more heavily on her left foot and always pushed off with her left in races. She was sure it came from her mum being right handed and teaching her to write, whereas her dad was left handed and taught her t do sports.

Yeah, a gerbil wouldn't be too interesting to bring up in the conversation. But it was the most ' exotic ' sort of animal that Guy had ever owned. And it wasn't like they needed training, they just sat around and ocassionally ran on their little wheels and stuff. He grinned slightly, randomly rambling on, " I used to have this gerbil one time, and, have you ever seen those balls that you put rats into? I had one for the gerbil... used to let him roll around the house all the time. " Hours of amusement could be achieved from that, to be sure.
He quirked his head to the side and looked behind Felicity, wondering where the quirrel had ran off to. " Can I meet him? " He asked curiously, an easy grin plastered on his face still. He had never met a squirrel face to face before, and he was always looking for new things to do and say he's done.
" Okay... " He trailed off, thinking that was a quirky little thing, to be right handed and left foot. " Then you're going to want your left foot on the tail end, for kicking off on the ground. " He motioned to the back of the skateboard as he said tail end. " And your right foot will be in front, for balance. Making sense? " He asked, motiong down to the skateboard for her to step onto it. He was standing close by incase she slid on the wheels and fell or something. He wanted to make sure that Felicity wouldn't get hurt too badly, although of course - it was a hazard with skating.

Nodding her head, Felicity knew what the boy was speaking of, her cousin had once had a hamster and it ran around in one of those plastic balls too. It was fun chasing it all around the house, except when it ran into walls, because half the time Felicity ended up running into the wall as well as her focus was completely on the little animal. "Was your gerbil a he or a she?" Felicity asked, not sure what it had to do with anything, but knowing she was interested in learning about it all the same.
"Sure," she told him with a big grin. Any chance to show off Sammy she loved taking. "When he comes back, and you can be sure he will come back, you can meet him then. Or if he doesn't, well...then in the common room sometime, I'll make sure to get your attention when he's around, I promise."
Though, the blonde was more than sure the little gray squirrel would be around soon enough, he didn't often travel far from his owner.
"All right, right foot towards the front, and left towards the back?" she asked, not really sure about putting all of her weight on something she didn't know how to use yet, but willing to do so anyway. The worse that could happen was that she'd fall, even if she got hurt it was usually easy to fix or would heal soon enough. And she was confident Guy wouldn't let her go near stairs while on the contraption.
Setting her right foot down towards the front of the board, she felt it move beneath her and started tilting to her left side, but thankfully catching herself from being too unsteady before falling completely. Setting her foot firmly down again toward the front of the board, Felicity kept her left foot on the ground, waiting for Guy to give further instruction, or at least letting her know it was all right to try kicking off. Unless he had some more advice for her. A helmet? Wrist guards? Knee pads? She never used them while doing any other kind of sport, and if she got a bump on the head, well, that was that.

Guy kind of yearned to have a squirrel now. He wouldn't ever actually go through the trouble to find one, catch it, and train it, but the idea did sound fun to him. Not many people had squirrels, but he wouldn't want to steal away the girl's thunder as it was obviously her ' thing. ' He couldn't really imagine many other people at school having squirrels running around. In fact, he couldn't think of other interesting animals that people kept as pets at Hogwarts. Toads, cats, owls and rats were what they were technically ' allowed ' to have, but he supposed those would get boring after a while.
He almost missed the question about the gerbil's gender and had to shake himself up slightly just to realize what she said. " Oh, I have no idea... I think it was a boy though. It was super fluffy, I remember that... " He said with a soft laugh. He wasn't so much a pet person... He almost felt bad for the gerbil for the amount of times he had forgotten to feed and water the critter. Luckily his younger siblings had stepped in and taken care of it. His grin reappeared as the younger Gryffindor made mention of introducing Guy to the squirrel whenever all three of them were in the general vicinity of one another.
" Sweetness, sounds like a deal. " He said, looking down to the skateboard as Felicity reiterated his instructions back to him, he nodded his head. " Yes... alright, good. " He paused for a second, making sure that she wasn't going to fall by placing one of his feet in front of the wheels of the board, ensuring that the girl wouldn't just... roll off without him close by. " Now... what you're gonna want to do is push with your left foot, because it's in the back. Take your time, and go slow at first. If you zoom off, then.. well you could very well fall off. " He said with a sheepish grin. He slowly removed his foot from in front of the wheels and took a small step backwards to give Felicity some room.

A soft giggle issued forth when he told her he didn't know. She knew it was sometimes awfully hard to tell with certain animals, but she also remembered when one of her cousin's had a gerbil and they thought it was a girl and they thought they got another girl gerbil later on, as it turned out one was a boy, the other a girl. But she nodded her head when Guy starting telling her it was soft, she had liked the feel of the fur too, though she thought chinchillas were softer.
Hanging off of every word the older boy said, she nodded in response. She was thankful he was explaining things pretty thoroughly, at least she thought he was, and he was keeping the board from moving, which was good. And when he moved away, she kept her left foot glued to the floor and her right to the front of the board. She just had to push off and keep her balance. It sounded easy enough, but the picture in her mind didn't look quite the same as it sounded. Rather, what she saw happening was completely different.
Lifting the weight on her foot just a little, Felicity pushed some, trying to do as Guy told her. However, as she pushed, the board went forward, her body didn't, and she fell back, landing promptly on her bum with a soft noise of surprise.

Guy had really only tried to explain skating to someone twice before, and both those times had ended alright. Sure, Cedar had taken a spill on the skateboard, but Abby had done okay, not falling at all. Guy realized that he had only ever ' taught ' other Gryffindors how to skate, Cedar, Abby, and now Felicity. He took a few more steps back and leaned against the wall slightly as he watched the sixth year hesitate at first before pushing the board forward... and leaving herself behind.
He took a few hurried steps forward, making sure the girl was alright. Deciding to take a humorous approach to her fall, he gave her a grin and said, " Congratulations, you have officially taken your first spill as a skater. There will be many more to come, possibly resulting in various scars and bruises. Luckily, this one won't cause too much damage. " He hoped. She didn't seem to hurt, just surprised if anything.
Guy held out his hand to the girl to help her up, and hopefully to start her over again with some better instructions on how to move with the skateboard.

The surprise had taken over, and Felicity didn't know what to think about the fall. She had fallen a lot of times before, but each time it surprised her. However, when she saw the other boy's smile, she couldn't help but do the same, but she wrinkled her nose when he told her there'd be scars and bruises. Bruises she could handle, but she had never enjoyed retaining scars from anything she'd done. Her mum had usually used some kind of muggle anti-scaring cream or other to ensure there was minimal scarring from any incident she created.
Taking his hand, the young lioness pulled herself up from the floor and with almost a little too much oomph, nearly launched herself into Guy. Taking a small step back, Felicity giggled about the small situation and gave an apologetic smile to him.
"So, can I try again?" She thought he wouldn't mind, but she didn't want to take up all of his time either, if he was busy.
