The weather was beautiful in a hazy, ‘ you’re gonna get rained on like mad ‘ sort of way. While the seventh year was all about Mother Nature watering everything down every once in a while to get things growing in the spring time, he didn’t like it when it poured. It was bothersome and annoying and really he just wanted to skate.
If it was up to Guy, he would skate all day. Sure, he wasn’t extremely amazing at tricks, but simple things like jumps and grinds he easily managed. As he thought about it, though, he realized he wouldn’t want to skate all day. That would be insane, and he would most certainly want to take breaks every now and then to practice his drums and eat. Drums, skate, eat. That would be the good life. And sleep, Guy could never forget. In fact, he figured he might as well just forget school altogether. When his future was going to be filled with music, what was the point of learning history about something that happened five hundred million thousand bajillion years ago? There wasn’t any point to it, at least in the Gryffindor’s mind.
It wasn’t all that shocking when he let his grades go. It was plain and simple – he just didn’t care all that much to keep them up. Sure, his dad was a little disappointed in his eldest son, but Guy had other plans beyond the education provided by Hogwarts School. Not only that, but the man would just have to get over it. Guy was set on what he wanted to do, and he would do it no matter what the cost was. His plan was simple, fly out to the States, live with his mom for a while, get another band together, and get noticed.
Maybe it wasn’t so simple, but Guy had faith in himself and his abilities.
His current location varied, he was one the move as always. Guy’s appearance was looking even more disheveled than normal, it was just after lessons and he was still in his school uniform, although a little bit modified. His sleeves were pushed up past his elbows, his tie hung loosely against his chest, his shirt and vest were extremely wrinkled, his right shoe untied. The only thing that ever remained constant about Guy was a hat on his head, this time a neon orange beanie cap which was pulled low over his eyes. He was on the seventh floor, humming to himself. Being a naturally scatterbrained and non-observant person, Guy didn’t pay much attention as he rounded the corner on his way to the Gryffindor common room. He didn’t noticed a person standing in the hallway. That was… until he ran into them.

The spring was rapidly approaching, most of the snow had already melted, leaving messes everywhere. Being stuck inside wasn't fun, but she needed to study and she couldn't outdoors when she couldn't sit outside without getting everything sopping wet. Therefore, being stuck inside, at the library to be exact, was her next best option. Potions wasn't something she needed Drew's help with, so she hadn't asked him to help her, being as she knew all she had to do was write an essay up. It wouldn't take her more than a few hours at most to come up with enough information. And she was right, it didn't take her any time to get everything she needed into the essay.
On her way back to the Gryffindor common room so she could drop everything off and then go and find someone to spend time with. Either Celina or maybe Lucas since she hadn't seen either in a while. However, as she walked up the stairs she thought she felt eyes on her, and of course, as since the end of last January, it bothered her. Before, she probably wouldn't have noticed, but now, she did. Everything was different.
When she picked up her ace, it wasn't until she hit the seventh floor that she stopped and saw what was not only watching her, but following her. Turning around slowly, she saw something small, quirky, and furry. Sammy had followed her, found her and followed her, up to where she was going. A smile of relief crossed her features as she bent over and scooped up the little gray squirrel, holding him close to her body. Some people still looked at her strangely for cuddling a squirrel close, but others seemed to have grown used to the sight of the Gryffindor Prefect and her gray squirrel.
Being enthralled with the softness of her animal, she wasn't observant enough of the approaching footsteps of another. Instead, she was lost in her own little world thinking of whether she'd be allowed to let Sammy run around her home this summer instead of being required to keep him to the same room of Hermon. Sure, he was allowed to run around a little bit, but he was used to much more freedom at the castle.
And she was thinking of how she couldn't wait to find her own place after she graduated Hogwarts, just so he'd have a home he could run and run around in without so much as a scold. But her thoughts didn't last very long, not when she felt the sdden presence of a person adn that person knocked right into her, sending her stumbling to the side, Sammy slipping from her arms, and she grabbing at the boy to stop from falling over.

Guy had always been a bit of a space cadet. He didn't pay attention to anything that didn't involve beating on a drum or trying out a new trick. Even when skating, he didn't notice little important things like direction. And people.
This wasn't the first time that Guy had run into someone while skating, and probably more than likely would not be the last. Actually, he found it to be a nice way to meet people. Minus the... falling over on the floor and running into soemone bit. Everything else about it, though was pretty good. He got to meet new people, people who were just in the wrong place at the wrong time. It appeared to be the case for Felicity, a sixth year Gryffindor prefect. Guy wished he could stop himself from running the girl over, but by the time he noticed, it was way too late for that. He turned his head at the last second, spotting some tiny little furry creature scurrying away. ' What the... '
" Ah! " He muttered in a desperate sort of way, grabbing onto the girls shoulders in an effort to stop the skateboard and himself. It didn't work out, the skateboard slipping out from underneath him, and he began to fall backwards. It happened a bit too fast for him to let go of the girl, and he landed with a soft " Oomph. "

What she wasn't expecting was the addition of a skateboard. The wheels were problematic, all on top of being run into, stumbling one way, grabbing at another, and feeling hands grab at her too. What she did see though was the face of a Gryffindor she had met before in the common room, but didn't actually know. He was in Drew's year, that was all more she knew. But what she hadn't expected, the look on his face being one she had hoped for as he had run into her, was him falling backwards, and then taking her with him.
Her own hands clutched at his shirt when she'd grabbed him to steady herself, his on her shoulders, and them both falling towards his back. Falling down wasn't something she was bothered with, having become quite used to it by now, but falling onto someone was kind of new. After all, the darker haired boy wasn't Drew and she was used to falling on him and into him. Guy, she thought that was his name, was different and she didn't know how he fell, whereas with her boyfriend she could usually figure out how to fall on him so he wasn't hurting...too much.
Falling over, hard onto the other boy, she really hoped he wouldn't be hurt.
"I'm sorry!" she apologized in a rush of breath when she landed, not quite moving off of him right away.

Guy hadn't really expected the girl to fall directly on him, maybe a little off to the side a bit, but not on him. He let go of her shoulders, letting his hands find their way to the ground, his palms pressing against the cool stone floor as he just sat for a moment, hardly noticing that the girl was still... on him. Again, though, he caught sight of the furry creature. A squirrel? His brow furrowed slightly as he looked at the small critter.
Now, when most people knocked people over and ended up landing with the person falling over onto them, they were usually concerned with a) their own body, b) the body and well-being of the other person or c) a combination of the two factors.
Seeing as how Guy wasn't most people in a lot of aspects, his eyes remained trained on the squirrel. He brushed the girls comment aside as he asked, " Is that really a squirrel? " In the back of his mind he was gently prodding himself to get around to asking if the girl was alright. He had just knocked her over onto him after all. He looked to the girl, holding out his hand for her to shake. Strange, and slightly awkward considering she was still on top of him, but he introduced himself. " I'm Guy, and terribly sorry to have run you over. I didn't mean to. " He said the last bit with a sheepish smile. Another oops.

When she landed on him she hadn't necessarily expected him to react a particular way, but there was the expectation of her own well being. However, when he asked about Sammy, the blonde couldn't help but grin in answer to his question. Had he been one that hadn't seen her pet running around Gryffindor? Then again, he wasn't confined to the tower either, she figured as a squirrel he needed to be able to run around. At first, she didn't know what to do other than smile, but then she realized she didn't answer his question. "Yes," she managed with a giggle. "That was a squirrel. My squirrel actually."
But then he changed tactics and was holding his hand out for her to shake, while not bothering to push her away or off, or anything. "I'm Felicity," she told him, releasing his shirt from her grasp long enough to shake the offered hand. "And it's all right, I just wasn't expecting it."
Not that she ever expected a skateboarding boy to come around the corner and knock her over, in the end with her landing on top of him. And it was then she realized where she was still laying.
Scrambling to get off the boy, the blonde pushed herself up into a sitting position, off to his side, not sure if she should stand and offer to help him up. She had been, after all, on top of him. But her first concern was whether he was all right or not. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to just lay there."
No offered hand, no quickness in getting off him, nothing. "Where did you learn to skate?" All right, so something, but Felicity hadn't ever been on a skateboard before, and she was curious. Did he just learn on his own? Or did someone teach him? Though, her light brown eyes traveled down the corridor a bit, seeing how far his board had gone on rolling without him.

Ah ha! So it was a squirrel after all. This was reassuring to Guy, as it told him he really hadn't been seeing things as he had thought for a few seconds there after he fell. " You have a squirrel? Does it have a name? " He couldn't think of anyone that he knew about having a squirrel as a pet. Chipmunk, maybe, but not a squirrel. He was used to a more normal variety of rodent like pets, mice, rats, that sort of thing. The occassional gerbil, as well. Guy wondered where she had found it or gotten it from.
It almost seemed as if Guy was just taking his time, eventually getting around to sitting up and retrieving his skateboard. He was in no rush, and strangely enough was hardly concerned with the girl still laying on him, even though if he had thought about it a bit more he probably would have arrived at the conclusion that it was a bit awkward. Mostly because he didn't reall know her that well. " Felicity, hullo. I'm Guy Styles. I have no idea if we've met before. " He commented with a small shrug of his shoulders. He had a habit for forgetting people, not because they weren't important, but just because he wasn't that observant. So unless he spoke to the person often, it was likely he wouldn't remember them too well.
' I'm sorry, I didn't mean to just lay there. '
" Huh? " He said in a manner that would suggest he had forgotten she had just been sitting on his abdomen. " Oh, right. No Worries. I got distracted. " He admitted, also sitting forward, propping his legs up slightly as he did so. He leaned back a couple of inches, using his arms to continue holding him up. " Where? " He lifted one of his hands and pulled his hat off, ruffling his hair into place and putting his hat into his pocket. " Here and there... you skate? "

"Sammy," she told him with another smile. It was funny, having a conversation about Sammy right then and there, like they were. Sammy was the most adorable, especially when she was chasing him for the first time, he'd done something that made her re-run into the most amazing boy then too. Since then she'd chased him, hunted him, held him, owned him, collared him, and taught him. But the gray animal was all hers, and he loved her as much as she loved him. It was fun teaching him all year long, over a year actually, but she loved it so much. He took so well to learning it was easy.
Tilting her head to the side when he said he couldn't remember if they'd met, Felicity suddenly wasn't sure either. But she thought they had, hadn't they? But an easy smile spread across her lips at his greeting, again. Guy Styles, it was a name she was familiar with because of Gryffindor, but one she hadn't ever actually taken the time to get to know despite him being in Drew's year. She was more than familiar with a number of those students, but was Guy in Drew's circle of friends? Felicity didn't think so.
"No," she answered with a slight shake of her head, causing the blonde locks to sway at her shoulders. "I've been ice skating, but never on a skateboard." Actually, none of her friends that she was aware of had been skateboarding before either. "I've wanted to try, but I never have. Dad wouldn't let me, he'd rather me play baseball or something like that, but never board. He doesn't like it because he thinks they're annoying, get in the way, and they always cut in front of him while he's driving near parks." While that wasn't true, that's what the older man said.

Sammy could be considered both a boy name or a girl name, and Guy felt inclined to ask of the gender. " So.. is Sammy a boy or a girl squirrel? " His eyes searched around for the little creature, but Guy seemed to have lost where he went off to... Oh well. He scratched lightly at his chin, wondering where the little bugger had gone off to when he wasn't looking.
Guy turned his head, finally spotting his skateboard several yards down the hallway it had come to a stop only by running into a small statue that was situated on the ground in front of one of the classrooms. He grinned slightly, pulling out his wand and performing the summoning spell on the skateboard. Instead of lifting into the air to go back to Guy, the board simply rolled on the ground towards them, seeming to have its own mind. Once it had reached him. Guy sat up all the way, his legs still out in front of him he lay the board down in his lap, flicking at the wheels to make them spin as he did so.
With her answer of ' no ' she hadn't ever skateboarded before, Guy gave her a ' whaaaaaat ' kind of look. Ice skating, Guy had never done, but he was almost positive that it didn't compare with skateboard. They looked completely different to the seventeen year old. And upon hearing that her dad didn't think so highly of skateboarders themselves, he scrunched up his nose slightly. " Oh, c'mon... We're not all bad. Some of us even pay attention to where we're going. And people that we might potentially run into. " He grinned sheepishly again, although popping his shoulders up in a small shrug.

“Sammy’s a boy,” the lioness answered, not thinking Sammy sounded like a girl’s name at all. Then again, she was used to more proper names, her friends didn’t have switching names, nor did her family members. All she was close to had rather girly names, well, of the girls. The boys had more masculine names, and those that didn’t were called their proper names, not a shortened version. And truthfully, he seemed quite proud of being a boy squirrel too. On more than one occasion he’d pulled the alpha card on other animals.
When he called his board closer, the blonde’s eyes were trained to the wand. Once having one pointed at her was enough, she still didn’t like it even when Drew offered to do something for her, or someone just swung their wand around. One more than one occasion she’d given a detention to someone for being careless.
The look on his face made her laugh, bringing her hands up to her mouth to stifle it a little, but failing at doing so. Actually, she thought she might know two people from her old class that skated, but she was never good friends with them.
Seeing his smile, she felt the need to make a face at him. So he’d been distracted by something, nothing wrong with that. “I don’t think you’re all bad, but my dad’s harder to convince than I am.” On just about everything it seemed. “Did you learn all on your own?” She was highly curious about it all. How had he learned? How much did he know? Oh, the number of questions in her mind.

Sammy the squirrel, who was a boy and who was owned by Felicity. Guy grinned, knowing that while there were some pretty extraordinary magical creatures in the world owned by people daring enough to have them, there was something particularly amusing and just plain nice about this girl keeping a squirrel for a pet. Why he thought that, he didn't know, but he did wish that the little dude would make another appearance. Perhaps he was sitting behind the Gryffindor girl or something?
" So does Sammy the boy squirrel ever socialize much with other squirrels? " He wouldn't think so, living in a castle and all, but maybe the squirrel ventured between the castle and the grounds. He had never known anyone with a pet squirrel before, so it was a mystery to him.
Guy slid his wand back into his pocket, still spinning the wheels with his other hand aimlessly. He grinned, nodding his head as he traced the trucks of the board with both hands. " Oh yeah? Dad's seem to be that way most of the time... " He said in a somewhat imploring way. Guy's dad was relaxed and a generally all around chill dude, but then again he didn't have a teenage daughter quite yet, so he had a year or two before he became super crazy dad that Guy knew he would end up. Nikki was like the female version of her eldest brother, random, happy, and generally what people consider to be good looking.
He just hoped his dad didn't get too, too crazy. As for her other question he paused for a second before responding. " Yeh, I taught myself... Hey! Want to learn? " He didn't know why it took so long for him to think of that, as he had just been ' teaching ' Abby a week or so ago.

"He tends to interact with them when I take him outside," she answered, never having taken notice if they interacted otherwise. Sammy kept close to the blonde unless she had classes, usually. He was always around somewhere, but she didn't really pay too much attention anymore to whether he wandered outdoors or not. As no matter what he always returned to her side at night. That was what mattered the most to the quirky blonde. "They like his collar; they're always grabbing at it and inspecting it, even if nothing changes about it they do it every time." It never occurred to her that it was possible the reason they did it was because they were trying to remove it from around Sammy's neck.
Felicity wrinkled her nose a little when he told her dads tended to be that way. Hers was more than a little overboard with things, her friends all told her. After all, he didn't let her walk around outdoors alone, her mum gave her a little more room to wiggle now and then, but her dad was more than strict about allowing her to do things and she was never allowed to be alone practically, it took everything just to get a few moments alone with Drew the majority of the time. And just trying to convince the older Hjort of Drew's intentions being good, well, that was just ridiculous.
Smiling when he said that he'd taught himself, his sudden change of tone when the topic was changed made her giggle again. Did she want to learn? For a long time. And though her writer made the mistake of saying she didn't know anyone that boarded being as Drew apparently did, she hadn't learned how to herself yet.
"I'd love to!" she answered excitedly, in turn actually scooting closer to the boy from giddiness of the thought. If he could teach her it'd be a dream! "That'd be absolutely grand if you could teach me! I mean...if you have time that is." A tacked on bit due to her not wanting to sound like he had to.

Guy grinned slightly, imagining several squirrels trying to look at Sammy's collar just because they wanted to. Saying out loud what he was thinking, he mentioned, " Aw man. Wish I had a squirrel. How'd you manage to get him? " He didn't know if the girl had found him here at Hogwarts or if she had brought him from her home, wherever that happened to be for the girl. He placed his palm flat against one of the wheels and rolled it on his hand back and forth, not really paying attention to the motion as he did it. With his other hand he returned to flicking the wheels, enjoying the ' vrrrrrr ' spinning noise it created.
He shook his bangs out of his eyes only to take his hat off of his head and run his fingers through his hair, flattening it before replacing his neon hat back on his head. He was still thinking about his own dad, and how his kids were leaving him. First Michael, and now soon Guy would, too. He resisted the urge to let a small frown take over his face, because he knew his dad still had Josh and Niki, even if Guy couldn't stick around. He glanced back up at Felicity' allowing his smile to remain intact.
The girl's excitement was awesome to Guy, and quite contagious as well. His small smile easily widened into a grin, " Sweet! " He said, then nodded enthusiastically. " Yeah, sure! I don't really do much around here anyway. " He admitted to her, shrugging his shoulders with a somewhat sheepish grin. It was the truth, just not something he told people upon first meeting them. He was a slacker when it came to school now, so having nothing to do academically wasn't much of a big deal to him.

"Well, I met him when I was outdoors one day last term and played chasing with him," she started off, leaving out a number of details about her time with Drew and him speaking squirrelese. "And then my friend Lucas in Ravenclaw, Lucas Smith, actually caught him for me. I'd been chasing him for over a month before he was captured, and I wasn't even the one to do it. But Lucas brought him to me and I've been training him since to be sociable and polite, instilling manners and all." The blonde was obviously excited about being able to tell on about Sammy. It'd been ages since she had been able to go on about the creature, and she was happy to talk about him to someone new.
Giving an awkward smile at his admission of truth, though she didn't quite understand what he meant by it, she didn't pry...for once. Instead, she pushing herself up off the floor, Felicity brushed her pants off, before offering her hand out to Guy with a huge smile. "Can we start now?"
The lioness wanted to learn, to perhaps surprise Drew, but even more, it'd give her something more to do over the summer when she had time off and her dad was at work.

Guy grinned at the way she said ' met him, ' like he was a little person, which in a way, he was. Her enthusiasm about everything was really nice, because it reassured the older Gryffindor that, even though she said it was alright that he knocked her over and all, she wouldn't secretly hold a grudge or something against him for it. It was kind of refreshing due to the fact that as of late he hadn't really spent a ton of time with other people. He nodded along as she mentioned Lucas, a fellow seventh year. Guy didn't really think he had ever talked to him much, but he did know who he was.
" Is it easy to train him? " He really had no idea, the most complicated animal he ever had before was... probably a gerbil. And all they did was sit around and... well, just sit pretty much. He grinned slightly, taking the girls hand and pushing himself up into a standing position. He released her hand with a small laugh at the question. " Of course. " He answered, setting his board down on the ground.
He dusted his hands off on his pants and looked around in an almost distracted way, as he had forgotten what he was going to ask Felicity... " Oh. Are you right or left handed? " The question might have seemed random to the girl, but it was relevant to skating.
