Slightly worried when Connor looked at his watch, Celina looked at hers. Sighing, she nodded her head. They had a bit of time yet, so there was nothing to worry too much about, she supposed. Sighing, she looked up at Connor and smiled. “We have time, yet…” she said mostly to herself, yet still looking at Connor and then nodding.
The same basic needs was one thing, but Celina really didn’t think everything was as easy or simple as Connor thought it was. There were lives people led that were incredibly difficult and complicated. Hers, Celina would even argue, was as simple as it could be, but often she found herself in tangled webs she didn’t even have a clue how to go about untangling. She gave Connor a sympathetic smile though, and nodded her head. “Yea, I guess your right.” Celina didn’t want to debate or argue about the topic, nor did she want to give too many details into her own personal life. There were too many things that would have to be explained, and though she trusted Connor… Celina wasn’t sure if anything she said would make him leave again like he had from the classroom… like they had split ways at the lake that one time… not to mention, there just wasn’t enough time. Again, Celina looked down at her watch.
Connor responded about her shoes, and she could only giggle to herself and bring her feet back together. “Top of the line, they are. Best quality of school shoe one could buy.” Rolling her eyes, Celina looked back at Connor and smiled genuinely as he said he’d be really sad if he killed her. Yes. In her opinion that would be sad. Not to mention, just plain horrible. But she caught his jest and took it well. In his arms, she felt that way too. There was just something about him, but Celina felt safe… like he’d never hurt her.
He asked her what to do next and Celina cleared her throat nervously. She’d never lead before, for that wasn’t a woman’s job… but what else was she supposed to do when the man of the pair didn’t know what to do. “Ok, so you move this foot,” she said pointing at his left foot, “while I move my right. You step around me, slightly.” Celina looked up at Connor, slightly gulping. “And usually, the man leads…” she whispered. “I… I can’t lead…” she stuttered nervously.

Due to their closeness, Connor heard what she said quietly about having time. He nodded his head, knowing that it was true. In a way he was rather thankful for missing charms class. If he hadn't then he wouldn't have been able to hang out with Celina, and he wouldn't have been able to just relax with her and talk. Their last meeting had been a little bit disaster-like with the appearance of her older brother. As Connor thought back to that, he wondered just what Celina's brother would think of them skipping out on a class just to be with one another. Granted that hadn't been his only reason for not going to Professor Snow's class, but it was pretty high on the list.
He was a little surprised that Celina didn't have anything to say back about that, and he was reminded of his conversation with the fifth year Ravenclaw, Tianne when he had stumped her as well. He smiled slightly, glad to see that they could see somewhat eye to eye on this particular topic. In Connor's mind everyone was different, certainly, but they remained together when it came to needing things like food, shelter, water, and other things. Some people needed more of those things, more love, more attention, but everyone needed it.
He grinned slightly at her joke about the shoes. He could hardly remember why they had been jesting about shoes anyway but gave a small laugh at her comment all the same. The Slytherin felt his fingers twitch lightly in Celina's hand, feeling strange with standing like this. They were close, but not too much the physical sense, more like he found his eyes being drawn towards hers. He felt something intimate about that, just looking at Celina as he waited for more instructions. When he noticed he was staring at the girl, he shied away slightly, looking down to his feet. " Okay, " He said, wondering if this was going to work or not. He moved his left foot over, still looking down at what he was doing. " I have no idea what I'm doing. " He said with a sheepish smile, giving a nervous and slightly embarrassed smile.
He felt self conscious, and stopped moving for a moment, saying, " Maybe we should try some other time... " He didn't really mind, but it looked like it was hard for the both of them, her as the instructor and him as the student.

Knowing how to dance, being lead, and teaching someone how to dance were all different things. In this case, ballroom dancing wasn’t doing anything for the pair and Celina only knew how to follow correctly. Without Connor being able to lead her, she really was at a loss. Sighing, she let go of her grasp on his arm and dropped it back to her side, keeping a hold of his other hand. “Dancing is really not that important, any ways,” Celina said half-heartedly. She’d grown up with so many teachings in her life, Celina really didn’t know what mattered to what didn’t matter. Why was it she felt she was the only one who was living in a time well before the one she inhabited? Celina looked up at Connor and smiled a small smile.
At the one dance she’d gone to, she’d dance with Oliver West, and it was one of the most spectacular times she’d ever had. Especially, since the dancing was just a swaying motion being in each other’s arms. It was a bit odd at first, but when she grew more comfortable with the motion of the dancing, she’d even forgotten what the tune of the song was. It was amazing… “Most people don’t dance like that at dances here at school, any ways.” Celina giggled and rolled her eyes slightly. “They do this swaying thing that I don’t believe even has a name to it.” Celina shrugged and sighed.
It had been a joke of an idea any ways, and Celina just blushed at her silliness. Why had she suggested such a thing? Again her eyes rolled and she shook her head, her dark locks swaying from one way to another. “I just remembered…” she whispered, pausing for just a moment. “I forgot my wand. I couldn’t even enlarge my harp to play for you or anything.” She snorted… Connor had said he’d like to hear her sometime. Wouldn’t this be the perfect time if she hadn’t forgotten her wand…

Connor could feel his smile deflate slightly as Celina put some distance between them, although she did leave her hand in his. He dropped their joined hands to his side, swinging them and giving her hand a small shake as he laced his fingers with hers. ' Dancing is really not that important, any ways, ' Was it really? She had made a big deal of it before, saying how it was in a man's place to know how to dance, how ever would he be able to court a woman and all? Connor reasoned with himself that those had been her father's, or someone else's maybe, ideals speaking. Whether or not she believed in them herself, he couldn't be too sure about. " No, it is.. I'm just.. a terrible student when it comes to things like this. " He said with a meek smile on his face.
He wanted to learn, really he did, just so he would be able to dance with her like that. He just didn't know if he could be taught was all. He allowed his smile to take on a more happy note as he heard her giggle. " Don't you know it has a name? It's called the ' dancing while we sway in each other's arms ' dance. Official and all. " He said teasingly, nodding his head lightly to convince her. If anything, the swaying sort of dancing was easier, at least to Connor. And it was nice to hold someone close.
At the mention of her harp, Connor looked to the girl's pocket briefly before his eyes came to rest on hers once again. He remembered being told about her harp, how she always carried it with her. It also reminded him about their agreement, that if their friendship didn't pan out she would play her harp for him and he would... bake her a cake. Why a cake, he couldn't remember exactly, but that had been the agreement. " I don't have to bake you a cake now, do I? " He asked, not knowing if Celina would have any idea about what he was talking about. If she wanted and would let, him though, he could always enlarge the harp for her, as he had his wand in his back pack.

Celina tried to be supportive, and tried not to care about the dancing but she could hear her father's voice in the background. She didn't care. Or at least tried not to as she held onto Connor's hand and felt comfortable just being there with the Slytherin Prefect. "I'm not that much of a teacher either, though," Celina giggled and squeezed Connor's hand gently. "I'm sure we can try again later. I'll ask Alfonz how to teach someone...." Celina nodded enthusiastically, not even realizing at that time that asking her brother may not have been the best of all ideas. But Alfonz knew how to dance, and Celina admired him for that among many of his other attributes.
As Connor named the dance, Celina laughed out right, her dimple showing up on her cheek with how wide her smile was. "Is that so?" she asked. "Well, now that I know, I'll have to remember it. Though, I'm not even good at that kind of dancing," Celina shook her head. Maybe it was that she just wasn't ever comfortable being that close to some people. Why? She wished she knew.
Celina did remember their agreement. It was one thing she'd never forget, for that was their consolation if their friendship ever started to falter. Maybe with one of those, she wouldn't have had so many fights with her other friends... Celina didn't know, but when Connor mentioned the cake, Celina opened her eyes a bit wide and she shook her head. "No!... I mean," Celina blushed just slightly. "I mean... we're not.... we're still friends, so the cake.... well, it's not needed yet, right?" She stuttered, giggling nervously. Had she done something wrong? Celina didn't think she did...

When it came to lessons and things like that, Connor was a pretty good student. He studied and worked hard when needed, but when it came to things like this, learning how to dance, he just didn't have the knack for it. It usually didn't bother him at all, but he felt a little bit disappointed in himself. He brushed the feelings aside, though, covering them with his easy grin as Celina lightly squeezed his hand. At the mention of her brother Connor nodded his head once or twice, remembering his last not so successful encounter with the man. " Yeah, okay. Think he'll be able to explain it? " He questioned, assuming from what the Ravenclaw girl was saying that her brother already knew how to dance and could possibly give her a few pointers on how to teach someone.
" It is so, " He confirmed to her on the name, a playful grin taking over his face. As far as he knew, that specific dance didn't actually have a name, so he figured it might as well be named by him. He lowered his eyes to meet Celina's, giving her an unbelieving look as she said she wasn't even good at that dancing. " Everyone's good at that kind of dancing. It's easy. " He told her, his eyes shining slightly with excitement and laughter as he lifted Celina's hands to fall into place around his neck, his hands coming to rest at her sides. " See? Easy. " He said, pausing before moving away a few inches to give her some room. He smiled sheepishly.
Connor was listing types of cake he could possibly make. Vanilla, chocolate, lemon, any other random kinds that popped into his head. But then again, he wasn't exactly the most skilled when it came to domestic things, so he didn't know. " Yet? I was hoping... never, but yes, not yet. " He said with a warm laugh. " I have my wand if you want me to? Or perhaps you could borrow it? " He asked, not knowing if she was picky about using other people's wands. It wasn't anything like using your own, but if she didn't want him to cast the enlargening spell on the harp, he wasn't sure what else could be done.

Celina thought about Alfonz and how he had tried to instruct her on multiple occasions the correct way of dancing. Most of the time, she just allowed him the lead he was supposed to have any ways, and just held on as the twirled and waltzed around the dance floor. Giggling, Celina shrugged, not really knowing if Alfonz would have the patience to try to instruct her again, let alone assist her in helping someone else learn. Actually, the more she thought about it, the more certain she became that he probably would not, but she wasn’t about to tell Connor that. “I’m sure he’d be a bit suspicious on why I’d like to know, now of all times, but if I ask nicely…” her words trailed off and she tried to smile innocently. Alfonz would do anything for her, he’d already told her that. And what could learning how to dance hurt? If anything, he’d be proud. …right?…
Again, Celina laughed at the oh-so-official name of how kids danced at the dances, but it was cut short as Connor was bringing her arms up around his neck. Instantly, the distance between them shrank and Celina noticed that before anything else. Nervously, she laughed, and her face increased in temperature as she could hardly look at Connor. They were in the hallway, there was no music, and his hands were on her sides. Her eyes looked at his hands and giggled. No wonder the adults found the waltz more professional, and appropriate… “Easy… uh huh…” she whispered, finally brining eyes up to Connor’s as she bit her bottom lip. “Piece of cake…” she snickered slightly.
Yet? I was hoping... never, but yes, not yet.
“Well…well, I mean… yea,” so did Celina, but it had come out wrong. Celina mentally slapped herself, and giggled again nervously as Connor smiled at her. In his arms, her mind just wasn’t focusing as it should have been, and the idea of their friendship going astray had just overwhelmed it more than she had thought it would. As for his wand, Celina had forgotten all about what she needed one for at that time, due to all the talk about cake and such. “Borrow it?” Celina said a bit confused and utterly lost. “I’m not sure I know a spell to make a cake, myself… plus, that’d be your job,” Celina giggled still thinking they were going on about the cake and Connor making it. She had no idea that he meant to enlarge her harp, for her comment had gotten lost in everything else that was said. Not to mention… Celina almost assumed that Connor would be making the cake the muggle way… so, what was there any need for a wand at all then?

Connor's thoughts were stuck slightly on the Jedynak man. It was obviously that he didn't like Connor very much, he just wished that he could tell exactly why. Perhaps he didn't like the Slytherin because of his affections towards the man's sister, or because he was willing to be a friend to her first, he just didn't know. He wished he did, though, thinking that maybe the man wouldn't hate him so much if he just got to know him better. His mind returned to the thought of Alfonz instructing Celina how to dance so she could show Connor, he bowed his head slightly in a nod. " Maybe he'll just be glad you want to know? " He suggested with a small smile.
His eyes slowly scanned down to the small space between them, her hands around his neck and his on her sides. He smiled in a nervous sort of way before placing more space between them, his hand reaching for hers once again as he dropped them from her sides. He didn't know why he had done that, but now that he had he felt a little shaken about being that close to her. " Yeah. Easier than a waltz, anyway. " He said in a teasing, joking manner, lowering his eyes in an embarassed sort of way to the ground for a few seconds.
He let out a small little laugh as she stutter slightly at him, agreeing that he didn't need to bake a cake for her quite yet. Her statements confused him a little bit and he met her eyes, wondering what she was talking about. " Oh! " He said, shaking his head as he finally understood. " I meant... you could borrow my wand to enlargen your harp. Not to make a cake.. That would be my job. " He added with a small grin.

Celina thought about what Connor said slightly before answering him. It was true that Alfonz would be pleased that Celina wanted to know, but she knew that after all this time, he’d wonder at least why. He’d raise an eyebrow at her, and she could just imagine the look…. Yup, he’d know something was up. Alfonz always knew… Celina guessed that was why he was the older brother. “Maybe…” she said nodding and scoffing just slightly. “Connor…” she wondered as she linked her hands that were still behind the boy’s neck. “Does your older sister ever know… like, things that you don’t want to tell her, but she can just tell when something is up or when you’re asking something for a completely different reason, than the one you give her?” He had an older sister. An older sibling; maybe he would know what she was talking about. They just knew!
As Connor then seemed to become more aware of their standing, Celina became even more embarrassed and as he gave the two of them space, linking his hand with hers again, she nervously laughed and wondered if she’d done something wrong. She didn’t ask though; not this time, for Connor never seemed to think she did anything wrong and Celina wondered if it was just an oversight. As long as he wasn’t mad or anything, Celina decided not to say anything about her own concerns. Like Alfonz, and her father, Celia figured that if she did something wrong… Connor would be the first to tell her. Yeah. Easier than a waltz, anyway. Celina giggled and nodded. He was right. It didn’t seem too complicated. “Good…” she said.
I meant... you could borrow my wand to enlarge your harp. Not to make a cake.. That would be my job.
Sometimes, boys were so complicated. Why hadn’t he just said that in the first place? Celina laughed and covered her mouth slightly as she did so. “Oh… well, then why didn’t you just say that?” Celina asked him rolling her eyes and sighing. “If you want… but I thought that was a stipulation for if we fall out of being friends?” Celina thought to herself. Though she had told him that she’d play the harp for him any time, what would she do for him if they stopped being friends? “I wouldn’t want you to get bored of me or my harp if I played it too often…” Celina would have played it, granted, but she didn’t want herself to get or become boring. Alfonz always liked to hear her play… he never got bored. Celina almost wondered… “Cause I know, some people get bored of things like that…” she said softly shrugging her shoulders.

With her reply of ' maybe ' Connor just shrugged. Eventually the Slytherin would make sure that he learned how to at least do one fancy dances just so he could dance with Celina. The swaying in each other's arms dancing was nice, but it was apparent to Connor that Celina was used to the other kind of dancing. It was one small thing that he could do to please her, so he wanted to try. He let his eyes and attention be drawn back to Celina as she said his name. " Yeah? " He asked, waiting for her to go on with whatever it was she was going to say.
He quirked his head to the side, thinking about the question. Bella was four years older than him, and more than just a sister. She was a friend to him as well. He remembered on several occassions asking something about girls, except he didn't ask directly because he didn't want to seem stupid, so like a typical fifteen year old, he had tried to be coy about it. And failed miserably. Not entirely sure if that was what Celina meant by her question, he decided to nod his head and tell her about one such instance. " I remember... " He paused, letting a smile wash over his face. " The first time I ever kissed a girl, she knew. " At the time he didn't know how she knew, but she had told him that it was pretty obvious with his crimson cheeks, eyes shining with excitement, and his look of complete adoration as he looked at the girl. He shook his head at the memory, looking back to Celina, his cheeks flushing slightly at telling her something like that.
He didn't regret their moment of closeness, and in the moments following he did what he only could do, he smiled, gave an low nervous sort of giggle, and squeezed Celina's hand lightly in his. " I thought I did say that... " He said, letting his thoughts trail off into a small laugh from him. " It is a stipulation for it, but that doesn't mean I don't want to hear you play your harp anyway. " He nodded his head in an enthusiastic manner, showing that he wasn't just saying it and that he really meant it. It wasn't often that he ran into very many people who were musicians and willing to play something for him. " I wouldn't get bored, really. I've never seen you play before. " He reminded her with a gentle smile.

What Celina was talking about, wasn’t exactly the kind of example that Connor brought up about him kissing other girls and as he blushed, Celina couldn’t help but feel her smile start to fade a little as she pressed them together and looked away just a bit. It was an example, that was the truth, and his sister did know that he wasn’t telling her something, but it was a bit awkward for the Raven girl. It felt like when Celina was caught in sight of her two friends kissing or something, or anyone rather… she nodded her head. “Oh… good sister,” Celina tried to giggle, but it didn’t go over so well and she just smirked awkwardly looking at Connor.
Celina could only hope Alfonz was never that intuitive. “How do you think she knew?” Celina asked, then immediately wanting to take her question back. “I mean.. they know… how do you think they know things? You know…. Ugh,” she moaned slightly and shook her head looking away from Connor and laughing at herself. She was not doing so well when it came to talking at that moment…
“Oh no… you did.” Celina nodded her head enthusiastically about knowing that he’d said he’d like to hear her. “I just… I mean, I…” Celina didn’t know. She saw Connor’s smile and it was so nice, she just didn’t know what to do but smile and shrug. “Ok…” Celina nodded and reached in her pocket with her free hand taking it out and holding it in her hand, showing Connor the glistening instrument. “Would you like to do the honors then, Mr. Manning?” she whispered, leaning against the wall, her head rolling slightly so that she could look up at the Slytherin Prefect, smiling genuinely.

His cheeks were still a nice healthy shade of dark pink, causing Connor to look down to the ground and he instantly regretted mentioning anything about it. It was obvious to him after he had said it that it wasn't exactly what Celina meant by the question, but it was the first kind of thing that came to mind. He paused slightly to breathe in, as he had forgotten to in the past few seconds. " Yeah.. Awkward. Sorry. " He said with a sheepish smile. He didn't mean to make things weird, but inevitably, he had. Well... that was stupid. He thought with a small roll of his eyes at himself, his hand fidgeting slightly in Celina's.
' How do you think she knew? ' Uhh. Connor's eyes widened slightly as she asked this, but he smiled breathed a little bit easier once she rephrased the question to where he didn't feel strange in answering honestly. " Older sibling intuition? " He suggested with a small smile, still recovering from his awkward feelings from the moments prior to the current one. He looked back to Celina, his eyes still apologizing for what he had said. He still wasn't exactly sure why he had said it, only that he thought it might be kind of humorous. Wrong move, he guessed. " I'm not sure, really. Bella just always seems to know. " He shrugged his shoulders, wondering if it was the same with Celina and her older brother Alfonz.
Connor leaned closer to Celina to peer down at her hand, catching a glimpse of the lustrous looking harp, miniature in size. It looked almost... cute to the Slytherin. At the suggestion, Connor nodded his head, crouching down to pull his wand out of his bag, he straightened back up and said, " As always, Miss Jedynak. " He looked down to the small harp, and tapping it lightly with his wand, muttered the word, " Engorgio. " He concentrated on the movement of his wand, not wanting to mess up or do something to Celina's harp. As the instrument started to get larger, Connor looked at it in awe. " Wow. " He said, finally looking back to Celina to see her smiling at him.

Yeah… Awkward. Sorry.
Celina just didn’t know what to say or do. At the age of sixteen, were all people supposed to know what or how to… as she thought of it more, Celina’s face started to turned a deeper shade of red itself. She didn’t… hadn’t… couldn’t even participate in conversation without feeling as if she should have known. Should have realized… “Connor…” Celina sighed, not knowing if there was really anything to say. She’d never been close to anyone like Felicity was close to Drew. It had been a waste of time in her mind, and Connor was the only one she’d ever even thought about… she looked away…this was so awkward. She laughed slightly. “Don’t worry about it… it’s ok,” Celina smiled up at Connor and loosened her grasp on his fidgeting hand, closing her hand but allowing one finger to wrap around one of his.
“I just wish I knew things too…” Celina said, starring off in front of her and shaking her head. She leaned her head against the stonewall, and closed her eyes. Celina did know things… wasn’t that the problem? But she didn’t know enough; not like she wanted to know. She shook her head and smirked, not wanting to think about it any more than she already had in the past. “Alfonz wouldn’t be happy…” she giggled as she whispered to herself what would happen if Alfonz ever knew some of the things that she’d done or might do in the future. It would just kill him… Celina knew how nervous he was about everything. And as she got older, he became even more nervous than she was about her future. Sometimes, Celina thought he knew something about her that he wasn’t saying… but she really hoped that he didn’t.
As Connor crouched down to get his wand, Celina placed her harp on the ground and watched him enlarge it to full size. The gold and wood frame glowed slightly, as the dragonheart strings also sparkled and dazzled. It was a purely magical instrument. Only the best, as her father would have said. Giggling at Connor’s awe, Celina shook her head slightly. “What?” she asked as if she saw nothing out of the ordinary. “Have you never seen a harp before?” She smiled a mischievous sort of smile (or at least the best of one that Celina could muster) and traced the harp’s frame with her hand.

Ugggh. It was like Connor had temporarily pressed pause on their conversation to fill it with a few minutes of awkward thoughts. He looked to the ground, knowing that maybe in a week or ten years he would look back on this and laugh. For now, though, he just tried to shrug it off even though he felt agonizingly stupid. He just nodded his head as Celina told him it was okay, not trusting himself to say something more that what he already had. When he did finally allow himself to say something he only said, " Alright.. " He drifted off. He didn't know if Celina had ever kissed a guy before, and the chances of him ever asking were about slim to none. If it had been embarrassing just for him to say something about kissing, he couldn't imagine the agony he'd put both of them through if he actually asked her about something like that.
He was glad for a topic other than the slightly awkward one of kissing, even though he wished it hadn't been that awkward. " What do you mean... Like know things about him? " He supposed it would only make sense if younger siblings just had a way of knowing things about their older counterparts, but Connor had never really picked up on anything like that. His sister was a mystery to him, just as much as he was an open book to her. It was probably for the better that way. He hadn't any clue what kind of relationship Celina shared with her older brother, so whether or not Alfonz could read her like an open book, he didn't know. The Slytherin glanced down to their hands, slightly unconnected now, although one of Celina's fingers remained latching onto one of his own. His eyes quickly turned back to the now fully sized harp.
Her nonchalance amused the boy, and he looked back to her with a laughing smile. " I have. Just never saw one that... was about this big two seconds before becoming this big. " He admitted, holding up a distance of air between his two hands as he said ' this ' both times, showing the difference in size. He examined the harp, wondering if many other people knew how to play. " So... you carry this in your pocket? " He asked, his voice still recovering from his state of shock. It looked too big, even though he had only just cast an enlarging spell on the instrument.

Alright...
Tension could still be felt, but it was more on Celina’s side she believed. She knew she shouldn’t have been so, iffy about such things, but Celina just couldn’t help it. It was territory she knew absolutely nothing about, and so the topic change was also widely accepted by her as well. “Yes, like… I wish I knew about my brother, or could pick up on things that he keeps from me as easily as he can pick up stuff from me.” Celina knew that with her brother, he knew just because she couldn’t hide things from him well. But when it came to her father… he knew everything because he went into her mind and took her knowledge from her. Everyone seemed to know everything about her, but she felt as if she knew nothing about any of them. “Actually, I wish I knew a lot more about my family just in general…” she whispered as her eyes looked toward the floor.
Her harp took the Slytherin’s breath, and Connor could hardly say a word. Celina heard what words he did say though, and giggled lightly. “My mother taught me how to have it easily accessible whenever I would need it…” her brother being six years older than her, also took care of the problem of her not being able to use her magic as well. Between the two of them, Celina had been able to use her harps in ways that only the two Jedynak siblings, and their father of course, knew about. “I need it with me always…” she said, still tracing the frame of the harp. It was a matter of life and how it would be lived at times…
“Would you like to hear it play?” she said softly, looking back shyly at Connor. He said he had wanted to, but Celina just had to make sure. Alfonz loved her music as well… as had Oliver… “I mean… I can show you one reason why I carry it with me, always…”
