A beautiful starlit night was upon the sky this evening, as Delilah ventured up to the tallest tower to have some down time. She had somehow managed to slip into jeans and her famous plain white t-shirt, and because she couldn't be bothered to find a clean pair of socks, she was barefoot. It really was quite odd for a girl to have such rough feet, but she didn't mind so much, people usually weren't looking at your feet any how.
In her hand she carried her most treasured possesion, her diary. She had news from her mum and that her dad was doing well, and was recovering from the heart attack he had, although he was bed ridden at home, he still had his wife to keep him company, and the hum of the machine keeping his heart alive. Delilah wasn't sure how to feel about this, out of both of her parents, her dad was who she loved the most, the one she could rely on, and now, he was the one that needed to be taken care of. He had never shown signs of a weak heart before, and was always happy and care free. The small girl forced the tears away from her eyes and was happy to finally be at the top of her tower. Yes, her tower, it was perfect here.
She sat down on the cool floor in a cross-legged position, and began to write. She hadn't really done so in so long, since it was her last year, she had a lot of homework she needed to catch up on, not to mention her Head Girl duties. She was kept busy, and as she thought about how busy she had been, she realized how she hadn't really been talking to anybody. She missed everyone: Sophia, Connor, Jason... but she especially missed Cole. She fiddled with the bracelet he gave her, and tried not to feel like a wreck, she missed him so. Just the thought of him made Delilah want to smile and cry at the same time. She wondered where all the time was going.
It was simply slipping through her fingers.
Open.

Connor tossed and turned, hoping sleep would come but finding otherwise. He finally realized that sleep wouldn't be something so easily achieved and began to think over the day. Was there anything bugging him? The answer to that question was ' no, ' as nothing in particular had happened that day. Classes had been normal at best, and nothing had really occurred that would trouble him any. He had even been able to go to bed extra early without trouble. Forty or so minutes passed by and finally the seventeen year old decided that he wouldn't be getting to sleep any time soon so he might as well do something with that time. He silently tossed the covers back off of him and slipped out of bed, careful not to stub his toe on his dresser as he usually did while getting dressed. He pulled on a pair of jeans and slipped into a hoodie, not bothering to put a shirt on. Lastly Connor grabbed a pair of shoes and made his way out of the commons, bidding g'night to a couple of housemates who were doing some homework.
It was October, so the nights were getting colder, but for some reason outside sounded good the the Head Boy. He knew he shouldn't go out to the grounds as it was getting to be a decent hour, but he knew the towers would be unlocked and available if he wanted to go. Connor leaned against a wall as he slipped his feet into a pair of Converse, looking around to decide where he wanted to go. Without making a conscious decision he headed up. Traveling up the staircases usually felt like they took ages, but tonight it felt like no time at all before he was up in a tower, a cool breeze whistling by him.
He closed his eyes and allowed for a slow but confident smile spread across his features. It had been a while since he had enjoyed the outside, especially at night. He sighed a small happy sigh and turned to walk onto the platform more, scope out where he wanted to sit, or in this case lay. He felt the need to just lay on the cobblestone ground and look up to the sky, basking in the moonlight. As Connor moved towards the center of the floor he noticed a small figure sitting adjacent to him. At first he was surprised but the shock quickly wore off as he recognized the girl. " Delilah, hey. You alright? "

Quidditch was going no where, though it didn't seem like any of the houses were doing any better. Still, Jax felt like and utter failure. She couldn't keep a girlfriend, her lack of enthusiasm when it came to a sport she loved was drifting, and even in classes she had fallen asleep more than once finding no interest whatsoever in anything life had to offer anymore. It was weird, because usually, Jax was all over anything she could get into mischief with... but now, it just seemed as if everything was pointless. Shoving her hands into her pockets, Jax walked around the towers, out of the Ravenclaw common room. She couldn't be in there. Not when she found studying utterly boring, and everyone more of a drag than life itself.
Into one of the towers her eyes opened wide when the first person she saw was Connor. It was one of her close friends in her mind, though she hadn't seen much of anyone lately. Jax opened her mouth to call out to him, but it seemed as if he were talking so she was stopped short. Was there another person? Jax ducked into the shadows, gripping onto her wand and trying to think about any spell she could pull to make life a little more interesting for the the lot of them, but unlike her, nothing joke wise came to her mind at all. It was very disgruntling and as she moved in close enough, she was able to see Delilah before tripping over her own feet and landing on her knees loudly.
Her brilliant blue eyes opened up wide and she figured that cover blown anyway, she ought to crawl out and see what was going on. "So... what would the Head Boy and Head girl be doing in a tower all by their lonesomes?" Jax crawled out, sitting to the side of the two and looking up at Connor, only to move her head to the side and look at Delilah. There was something not quite right with her, and Jax's smile faded slightly as she cocked her head. "I was going to guess some huge school prank?" Jax said almost as if she were questioning them. "But probably not, eh?" she asked, the question more directly at Delilah who she continued to look at and examine.

Delilah had heard a small, yet pleasant, sigh come from behind her. She had just set her quill to the pages before her, but sheer lack of sleep, caused her to over react, and her actions caused her to dump the ink well, with ink in it, to spill over onto her white clean shirt. She turned to give a death glare to whomever it was, and immediately knew they'd be getting a detention or something of the like. "Arn't you supposed to be in bed?" She said in a harsh tone, not yet able to see Connor just yet.
But once she saw who it was, her face softened and she grinned. "Connor!" She said, hoping that her face wasn't abnormally red from crying or anything. Delilah quickly closed her journal and stood up, only to remember that there was a nice black blotch on it. Nice. "Yeah, I'm alright..." She said, slightly embarassed. Not only was there a huge, noticable stain on her shirt, but he wasn't even wearing one. It wasn't summer, had he just rolled out of bed and wandered off onto the towers for no reason? Besides, he should have been resting, he had to patrol the grounds tomorrow night.
Delilah looked down at her bare toes and looked back up at him, "Why're you up here?" She asked, pretending he was fully clothed so as to stop the blush rushing to her face. As Delilah crossed her arms, forgetting that they would get stained now too, she heard another noise. Apparently there was no such thing as peace in this castle. Delilah's cold green eyes glared at where the noise came from.
Usually the snake was a friendly one, but tonight she was quiet, and not feeling like her usual self. First no friends, then that bloody blonde Gryffindor thinking she was the only person with problems, and now this. She wasn't quite sure what was wrong with this, but the inquisitive Raven annoyed her. Although any other day, she would have found her cute, funny even. At the mention of pranking however, Delilah had to grin. This comment only reminded her of what could be Hogwarts near future: the greatest prank of all. It could even be fun.
With her journal still lying closed on the floor, she decided to sit back down on the ground, seemed like they would be here for a while. "Not quite." She said, to answer Jax question, a small smirk on her face now, despite her discomfort from meeting someone new, and the ache that was splitting her head in half.

' Arn't you supposed to be in bed? ' He couldn't help but chuckle at that. If that was how she wanted it, he could say the same for her. He didn't notice the ink all over her front until she stood up and immediately felt guilty. " Sorry, D. Want some help removing the stain? " He had almost forgotten to add ' the stain ' and realized how awkward it would have been to ask Delilah if she wanted help removing her shirt... He was glad for the dark as his cheeks glowed red. Feeling a cold slightly uncomfortable breeze Connor zipped up his hoodie, glancing around as he did so to see what the source of the thumping noise had been. It was hard to hide the grin that lit up the lad's face as he spotted Jax Chaput, an old friend of his.
He glanced back over to Delilah, about to answer her question when the Ravenclaw girl asked the same thing. " Ah, Jax... so young... so naive. Not everything's about pranking you know. " He smirked at the younger girl as he leaned against the wall, keeping his distance from his Slytherin counterpart. She didn't seem to be in too great of a mood and he didn't want to bug her more than he already had. He felt sorry for finding his way up here so late, but he hadn't known that anyone would be up here in the first place. Connor cleared his throat lightly as he decided to sit, situating himself so he could look at both of the girls and talk to each of them.

Delilah looked down at her used to be white shirt, and stomped her foot in frustration like a like kid would do, she even had the pouting lip to go along with it. After a moment of being ticked off, and looked at Connor with a bit of a softer expression and tried to smile, "You're not the klutz here, you didn't dump it on me..." She said, simply crossing her arms over her stained belly, seeing as she was unable to cover the rest, and shrugged, "No harm done, I'll be alright." She said, shoving a stray strand of hair behind a larger sized ear, at least compared to the rest of her. This was when Delilah sat down, and before Miss Chaput came along.
Delilah watched Connor as he sat a ways away from both girls. What was up with him? Did someone smell funny? She breathed in the cool night air... Nope, that couldn't be it. She turned her head slightly and sniffed yet again, nope, it wasn't her. The small brunette turned back to both of her fellow classmates and sighed, not really knowing what to say when it came to Connor's comment about pranking. After her whole episode in the Library with Derrick, she was a bit disheartened. Usually this was her cue to tell someone else about a school wide pranking that was hopefully going to happen, but she simply couldn't muster up the excitement she usually had when she thought about following through on such a master plan. But for now, Delilah sat there, suddenly cold, and the only thing she wanted to do was write.
Delilah breathed a heavy sigh yet again, pretty well sounding like a drama queen, before she laid back onto the cold hard flooring. As she gazed up at the stars, she felt a sudden peace about the world, and even though she was only a small part of that world, she was still here, and probably for a very good reason too. "What do you guys think of the stars?" She asked thoughtfully to whomever was willing to reply.

Well this party was already starting off as a drag, and even someone she considered one of her best friends was being one of the biggest party poopers she’d ever met. No, she knew that life wasn’t all about pranking and practical jokes, but it didn’t mean that life had to be a huge downer either. Looking up at Connor when he spoke to her, Jax’s smile went from it’s wide usual, to a more smug look that only told her emotions plain and simple. “Wow…” was all she could say. An eyebrow arched and she got up off the ground and shoved her hands in her pockets. Something Jax hated more than anything was being treated like an idiot… did anyone not remember that she was chosen quidditch captain at the age of fourteen?! Of course, she didn’t bring that one up… obviously, Ravenclaw’s team wasn’t going real well that year.
Looking back at the Head Girl, Jax still wondered what her problem was. She didn’t seem to amused either. Something told Jax that school was just becoming an insane asylum more and more, and she really wished that she’d known a long time ago. Snake had left, breaking up with her as she did so to move back home… Merlin knew that Jax was sore too, but what the hell was with this place and it’s lack of energy?!
What do you guys think of the stars?
Jax remembered one time where she’d never thought the stars more beautiful. A smile returned to the young raven’s face as she sighed to, her blue eyes less electric than usual as she looked toward the window. “They’re more magical than anything I know,” Jax finally said. A broom ride with the girl she loved hanging on to her tight from behind, and dear merlin… the stars had never felt so close. “I once enjoyed them…” Jax said shrugging looking back at the girl on the floor and taking in the sight that she saw. A beautiful, older girl sitting on the floor and asking what stars were thought of from people she really probably could have cared less to know about.
“But that was a while ago…” Jax said, slightly snorting as if to make her statements seem lighter than they were said like. Too long ago…

Delilah nodded at the Raven's answer, smiling as she did so. Her answer was thoughtful and more or less truthful from what Delilah could gather. She wasn't sure about her though, she had never really crossed paths with her before, and knew nothing about her. Delilah did notice though that the energy that was comming from her previously, just seemed to disappear. The small girl kept the smile on her face though, forgetting that she came here to write, not socialize.
Miss Morine waited a bit longer, wondering if Conner was going to say anything, but he didn't seem very interested in the girl's conversation. Delilah shrugged and continued looking at the stars. Yes, she was happy to have company, but one of the closest friends wasn't even talking, and a girl she didn't know, was in her presence, and first impressions tended to be awful for this Head Girl.
Delilah felt a little bit boring though, I mean, who would really want to know what her problems and worries were? She didn't have anyone to share what was on her mind, what was troubling her. No on except her diary, and that really wasn't a real person, but more so an object. Delilah felt alone most of the time, and honestly couldn't wait for school to be over, even though it was her last year, she felt that if her friends really wanted to spend time with her, they'd respond to the letters she'd be sending them. She grinned at her thoughts of being able to work with dragons (and other creatures) if she got the right marks.
For a moment, she forgot others were in her presence.
