(OOC: Using the Owlery Purely because it seems the most convenient place to put this kind of thread. However note that not all the letters are sent, or received, from the owlery. It will be stated in the posts where the sender, or receiver is at the time of receiving the letter)

Holidays. Trixi was at home on the farm with her 'family'. But the fact that she was not allowed to do magic while outside of school was quite irritating to the young girl. Her younger step-siblings were annoying her at every opportunity, and she couldn't even turn them into frogs. Not that she actually knew how to turn someone into a frog, but it would be good if she could. Luckily her big brother Brett was there and that was probably the only reason she was happy to be home. Although Brett now had a part time job working in town, along with his work on the farm, so he was constantly busy. Unfortunately this did mean Trixi was rather quite bored.
It was perhaps this boredom, and the sight of the small globe that had just rolled out of her trunk and onto the ground as she searched for something slimy to throw at her siblings that awoke an idea in the young girls mind. Before she had returned to Hogwarts after Brett had been sick, Trixi had spent a day in Diagon Alley. That was where the small globe had come from. Trixi didn't really know what to do with it. But it was pretty all the same, although it wasn't quite big enough to knock someone out if you dropped it on their head. It was small enough to fit in the palm of her hand, no bigger then a tennis ball.
This particular globe had been bought for her by an old man that she had met in a shop. Trixi had been happily causing trouble for the shop keeper there when the man had come in. He seemed to ignore her presence at first, but then, when the shop keeper made a couple comments back to Trixi, the old man defended her. Trixi, for some reason, had decided she liked this man. The idea that had awoken in the young girls mind was one of a curious nature, that involved the old man. She was going to write him a letter.
Trixi picked up the small globe and dropped it into her pocket, she then gave up the search for something slimy and instead drew from her trunk a piece of parchment, a quill, and a bottle of ink. Being in a muggle household she could have written in pen, but pens always seemed to disappear, and she was sure her step parents would not approve of her writing to a random old man she met in a shop. Therefore, a quill and ink would suffice. Lying on the floor of the barn loft, which she had claimed for her own, Trixi began to write.
Hello man!
Its Trixi! I met you in the shop full of all the sparkly globes! I'm on holidays from Hogwarts at the moment. They wont let me use magic! Its so unfair! I can't even turn my step siblings into frogs! I'm going into 3rd year at Hogwarts! I have to choose electives for next year. We have a choice out of Arithmacy, Care of Magical Creatures, Ancient Runes and Divination. What electives did you do when you were at Hogwarts? I still have the globe you bought me. How do I make it float? Like you did. I tried staring at it, but that didn't do anything! Do you live in Diagon Alley? Is it true there's a dragon underneath the bank? Have you ever seen a real dragon? I would like a dragon. Then I could set it on my siblings. Do you think they would look like roast chicken's once they had been flamed by a dragon? They sure would look funny if they did!
Now I'm hungry.
Bye![/i]
The letter was random and barely made sense, but it had kept Trixi occupied for a moment. She wondered if the old man would write back. Trixi wandered over to the part of the loft where her owl slept during the day. She nudged him awake and handed him a treat. Trixi's owl was an extremely large, savage looking owl, with sharp talons and beak. But she liked him. The owl ate the treat and held out its leg. "You need to take this to the old man I met at the globe store" Trixi said to it. She was sure the bird would be able to find him. For some reason owls seemed good at finding people. Trixi carried the owl over to the window and the large owl spread it's wings and was gone. With the letter sent, Trixi went to find some food.
