Dear Ezz.
How's everything been going? I'm sorry I haven't written often... I've just been heaps busy is all. School is school, and school is bad, and I'm sick of having to spend my days following a timetable. I wish I was back at home with you, but knowing this school, my wish might actually come true, so i better not say it aloud.
I've made a couple of new friends. theres this guy called Derrick that i met on the train, and he's pretty cool, and I've been hanging out with Matty a lot. you remember her? from the Christmas party at Diagon Alley? How's Cherise and Adriana? Do they still know my name? And just something that I've always wanted to ask, where exactly do they think I am?
Tell Jordy, Mum and Dad I said hi. I promise I'll write as soon as I get the time. Thankyou for the weekly care packages, I dont know how I'd survive without the magazines and lollies.
Much Love, Maddyson.

Writing a love heart next to her name, Maddy smiled. She hadn't written to her twin sister Eryn in so long, she missed reading her replies, laughing at her jokes. Eryn had always had a wittiness to her writing, something that Maddy just couldn't master. Slipping in a galleon, as Eryn had always been fascinated by the wizarding money, Maddy sealed the envelope and wandered out of her dorm. Being separated from her twin sister at such a young age has only made the two closer. They weren't actually that close when they lived together; they always had their rivalries. Eryn was the smart one and Maddy was the sporty one, that was always the way it went. They were both in different groups at school, but neither one was more popular than the other, they just had different crowds. Maddy used to hang with the boys, playing soccer at lunchtime and football after school, whereas Eryn sat and gossiped with the other girls. They couldn't have been more different.
Running up the flights of stairs that led to the owlry, Maddy stumbled through the door, immediately spotting her owl. "Hello..." She spoke in a soft voice, petting her owl on its back. It was almost reflective, the brighter the day was, the more it stood out as a flawless white, except for a lone brown dot on the top of its head. She had gotten the owl along with Bindi, her cat, when she had started at Hogwarts. Her parents didn't want her to forget about them, not that Maddy could.
Attaching the letter to its leg, feeding it with a treat that she had retrieved from her back pocket, Maddy gestured for the bird to go. However, the owl refused to leave its perch. "Why won't you go?" She pleaded, though a smile was sitting on her face. "Shoo!" She attempted to push the bird, though she was just greeted with a nip on the finger. "What was that? Get out of here!" She grinned, her tone playful, not angry. Her finger wasn't bleeding, and to be honest, the bird had perfectly good reason to bite her. Thank god she was the only one here, there was no one to laugh at her troubles.
