Out in the courtyard, Celina sat thinking about everything that had happened within the first few weeks of school and she was unsure of what to make of all of it. There were her friends as always, Connor was a new addition, joining the quidditch team of all things, and above all else her brother seemed to be even more distant than ever. Celina found that she couldn’t really speak or relate to anyone of her friends like she wished she could, and even with Connor, she felt as if he would judge her if she told too much. There were just things that one had to keep to themselves as a pureblood in the world they were all striving in, and everyday she was finding this to be more and more true.
Or maybe it wasn’t just being a pureblood, but one that was constantly being stood up or beaten out by competition that should have never been. She was smarter than most, and did the best in all of her classes that she possibly could. She had only ever missed one class, and when her life could have even been at stake, she still stayed in her place in her History of Magic class. But no one understood why…
If she said it was to become Head Girl the next year, no one would see anything but selfishness. But didn’t she deserve anything? Anything worth speaking about? Anything…wasn’t she worth anything…
Celina’s head dropped for she knew what she wanted, she knew how to accomplish it and yet, if she couldn’t even become a prefect over those whom had just returned or had just transferred to the school, then what chance did she really have at the position of Head Girl? Let alone having anyone in the entire school that actually understood her that wasn’t her brother…
Celina needed companionship of some sort. Someone she felt safe to turn to when she had questions and problems, and yet she knew that that was a lot to ask for. Felicity just didn’t understand fully, Drew… Celina didn’t want to try at this stage in the game, for she figured he would just tell her that everything was not her fault…or something normal. Connor would listen, but Celina was so afraid of chasing him away… she wouldn’t know what to do if Connor wasn’t her friend any more. And yet there was no one else.
The blue dress she wore that day fluttered around her knees as she sat on the fountain, the fall wind blowing gently to where leaves rustled and danced around the where she sat in their orange and red colors. She wished she could be a leaf, for they seemed so free and so lively. It was only sad how oxymoronic that was…a live fall leaf. Her hand went up to the unicorn pendent necklace she had received for her birthday and stroked it involuntary. It had become a habit since she had started wearing it…and a bit of a comfort. She stroked it thinking about what or who she could talk to, but no one came to mind… was there no one left in the entire school that could help her? No one at all?
