It was still a tad early in the season for basketball finals, but Drew knew that back home everyone was gearing up. He didn't play as often as he used to, but on this Saturday morning, he was found outside, facing the basket he had stuck to the courtyard wall seven years earlier.
He had dressed in shorts and a sweatshirt, placed a baseball cap back to the front on his head, and dribbled the ball at his side, adding his own commentary as he got ready to make his shot.
"And Thornton is at the line, hoping to make this shot. If he sinks this, the Bruins will be in a position to take it all," Drew intoned as he slowly bounced the ball at his hip. "And he takes his aim... shoots... and... SCORES! THE CROWD GOES WILD! THE BRUINS ARE IN THE FINALS!"

Finally the snow had almost completely left. Beau hated the stuff, it was bothersome to deal with, cold, and didn't do anything except just be there. He was much happier with the seasons that followed the winter months, first spring and then summer. Spring brought good things for the Hufflepuff boy, being out of the castle, roaming the grounds without fear of frostbite, and essentially bringing life back into everything. Winter months at Hogwarts had grown kind of full, especially with being kept in due to the Dragon Pox epidemic at the school, so there wasn't a break between.
Summer time, Beau knew, would eventually bring generally the same things, although it would be in the summer time that he would have to part with the castle and the friends he had created in it. He didn't want to think about that too much, so as Beau wandered around the edges of the courtyard closely tailed by Ellie, he didn't. He turned back to his twin who inevitably had her nose burried into a book. Not the most shocking of sights.
" Ell, c'mon, there's some fun to be had. Quit being so... boring. " He scrunched his nose up in protest as he teased his sister. " It's Saturday, we don't have any homework, and you're reading a book. A book! " The indignity, surely. Beau was just messing with her, but that didn't stop him from grabbing the paperback from his sisters hands and closing it shut in front of her. " Let's... do something. " He said with a grin, wanting to find something to do rather than just walk around with Ellie and be bored out of his mind.
Spotting a basketball rolling towards them, Beau scooped it up into his hands and gave it a good bounce or two, looking to see the owner of the ball. It was obvious who it belonged to, and Beau gave the older boy a nod of his head as he tossed the ball high up into the air, giving it a perfect arc before it fell back, hit the edge of the hoop, and went soaring in Thornton's direction. Oops.

Dressed in her normal Saturday casual outfit of light gray skinny jeans and a a nicely fitted navy blue hoodie, Ellie wasn't looking for the adventure her brother constantly sought out. She wasn't looking for fun, because she had fun in her hands in the form of a book. She sent an annoyed glance her twin's way as he bothered her, something about... her being boring. It was a constant tease of his, one Ell had learned to both ignore and take to heart at the same time. " I'm not being boring. You're just being annoying. " She said to him through gritted teeth, resisting the urge to smack him around a little bit.
" Yes, Beau. It's called a book, have you ever seen one before? Might want to try it out... Helps the brain and all? " She tossed back at him with a small sneer and a light shake of her head. Ellie gave him a light punch in the arm as she took her book away from her and his it in his pocket. " Fine. " She snapped as she stopped walking for a second and pulled her hair up into a ponytail, her bangs hanging slightly off to the side of her forehead. Just as the girl moved to go forward and suggest something to her brother, a basketball came rolling towards them.
The Ravenclaw girl watched in amusement as her brother tried, and failed, to shoot a hoop. " Better luck next time, baby bro. " She teased, bringing up those few minutes she had been on the earth longer than her brother, just as she watched the ball fly back, away from its intended destination of going through the hoop. She moved around her brother towards Drew and asked him for the ball by lifting her hands up in front of her as if to catch it. That was, if it didn't hit the seventh year...

Everything was finally starting to get green. The smell of earth graced the air like a nice perfume. The school was moving with a renewed vigor making everyone much more awake and happy. This applied for Autumn as well. The Ravenclaw had been getting up earlier and earlier as they days got warmer. The sun on her skin felt like a long lost friend.
She woke up late today, something that was now a strange thing for her. She knew she wanted to spend some time outside in the sun and run around if possible. Maybe it spend some time with Beau if she could find him. They spent almost every free moment together. Autumn couldn't think of something she'd rather do with her time. Beau was the perfect person to just hang with and have fun. Getting out of bed she took a shower, making sure to be as clean as possible for the day ahead. She brought her clothes with her into the bathroom and changed there. She brought a pair of blue skinny jeans, a white shirt that said some funny saying about muffins, a black hoodie with some muggle band on it, and her trusty chuck taylors.
She used a charm to almost dry her hair, wanting the air to dry the rest. Looking in the mirror she skipped makeup today. She brought her Pj's back to her dorm and rushed down, wanting to grab breakfast and get outside. As she ran downstairs she skipped every other step. She finally made it to the Great Hall and grabbed a few pieces of toast. Munching them down she made another quick exit and tried to find her way outside.
Dashing into the courtyard she noticed a few people outside playing with a newly added basketball hoop. Autumn had always wanted to play with one. She didn't know much about Muggle sports but they sounded so cool. Taking a step forward she smiled as one of the bodies she recognized. It was Beau! She took a few quiet steps to get herself behind him. Reaching up she tickled his side, hoping to get a reaction out of it.

Drew was unaware of the gathering crowd and still not sure how the last paragraph of his first post disappeared. He took a victory lap around the courtyard, arms raised and providing his own cheering stadium, totally oblivious of the others until the basketball hit him square on the head.
The orange ball made contact with the Ravenclaw's hard skull, bounced high into the air, and landed off to the side of the makeshift court. Drew, meanwhile, stopped his victory celebration and fell to the ground, more out of surprise than out of pain. Where had that come from?
He rubbed his head and looked around, finally noticing the others. "You guys okay?" he asked, totally unaware that he was the only one who had been bonked on the head and still not sure how it had happened.

Ouch. He winced slightly in sympathy for the seventh year he had just knocked down with the stray basketball. " Oh, man... " He said, trailing off as he skittered over, standing next to the older boy, a look of surprise and apology written clearly across his face. " Fine, we're fine. " He had no idea why the seventh year would be asking about them when it was he who had been hit on the head with a basketball. " Are you okay? " He questioned, sending a backwards glance at his sister who was still standing behind him. " I'm really sorry... " He said hurriedly, wondering what the odds were that the Ravenclaw was standing in the perfect spot where the ball was going to land. Apparently they were kind of high after all.
Feeling a tickle on his side, Beau smacked the hand away lightly with his own, not bothering to turn because he knew it was his sister. Who else would be randomly tickling him? She probably was just trying to make the situation worse for him. " Ellie, stop joking around for a second. " More than likely, or rather, Beau hoped it was likely that the older boy would just bounce back up. When he did turn to see who it was, Beau was surprised to catch a glance of Autumn. " Oh... hi. " He answered, feeling bad for swatting her hands away and scolding her, even if it was on accident.

A small pout formed on Autumn's lips as Beau didn't look back but swat her hand away. It didn't hurt, but she was a little annoyed that he did hit her hand away. Autumn took a step back, and looked around at the scene. She finally did noticed why Beau swatted her hand away. A basketball fell and hit someone in the head. Autumn's face turned from annoyance to worry. Were they alright? Worries were assuaged when she heard the person call over to them asking if they were ok.
Beau turned back to her and said 'hi'. She gave him a small smile showing she wasn't mad at all. Taking a step forward she gave him a hug, crushing herself against him. He was warm and nice. She felt right in his arms. Looking up at him she smiled again. "What happened out here? Who did you pummel with a basketball?" She still had yet to see the victim of his accidental attack. Ellie was also there. She turned her head over to her dorm mate, giving her a smile. "Hey Ellie."

Drew finally got a little clarity about the situation, noticing two girls from his own house, and a third person, a Huffle boy Drew thought, standing over him. He wasn't really hurt, just surprised, and he looked up at them with a sheepish grin.
"Dude, if you wanted to play, all you had to do was ask," he said, still not sure how the ball had managed to hit him. It hadn't been anything close to a real injury and definitely nothing to get mad about.

Ellie wasn't nearly as concerned about Drew's head, or the fact that he fell to the ground. Sure, it would probably be good to check up and see if he was alright, but she didn't think that Beau had managed to hurt the older Ravenclaw boy too, too much. She saw Autumn sneak by and gave the girl a small smile, watching as the Ravenclaw girl creeped up behind her own brother and tickling him in the side. El wondered what the other girl was doing but didn't give it too much thought.
" Hey, Autumn... " She greeted with a smile, turning and looking back to Drew and gave a light giggle at what the boy said. " Want to pick up a game? " She asked, the question was directed to the group at large rather than just the seventh year.

" Yeh.. about that... " Beau said to the older guy, scratching lightly at his chin in a sheepish way. He was shy by nature, and accidentally knocking the Head Boy over wasn't on his list of ' Things to be done. ' He smiled down at Autumn as he hugged her, a slightly random and touchy move but one he still liked all the same. His cheeks were a noticable light pink color as he moved away slightly, his hand giving hers a light squeeze as he did so, still feeling bad about scolding her. " I sort of... hit Drew on the head. " He mentioned to his girlfriend as she inquired about it. Beau bit down lightly on the inside of his cheek, wondering what on earth had possessed him to do that.
He knew he was a terrible shot, on the several chances that he had had a go at the sport he had failed miserably. It looked like Ell was trying her best to exploit the fact that he was terrible at it, too. " Uh.. " He mumbled to his sister's suggestion of picking up a game. " You sure you're up for a game? " He poised the question to Drew, his guilty conscious keeping him from readily agreeing with his sister's idea. He might be bad at the game, but it did sound like fun.

"I've had worse," Drew told the group, wanting to assure them that he was okay and it really wasn't all that big of a deal. "It just wasn't what I was expecting this early in the day." People usually didn't start throwing things at him until at least noon.
He got to his feet and brushed his backside off with his palms before straightening his cap and grinning at the two girls and the guy. He knew the two girls considering they were in his house, but had only seen the boy between classes and didn't know his name.
"Drew Thornton... nice to meet you," the seventh year introduced himself even though the other boy had already used and therefore knew his name. It didn't hurt to meet formally though, considering he had just been taken down by the younger boy. Drew offered an easy smile and a handshake to him. "I'm good. We can play two on two if Autumn wants in too."
