"Yeah, I almost did once my parents got a hold of me," Drew answered with a smirk. He had broken his arm twice, ironically both times falling off the side of his house. "Broken arm twice, broke my leg, a number of fingers and toes, a couple of concussions, multiple stitches..." Nope. He was no stranger to the emergency room.
"I don't know if it's so much of letting us skate as it is no one's told us we can't," Drew clarified. "Only time I was actually told I couldn't was when I was wearing my roller blades to class."
Roller Derby sounded kind of fun. Drew had crashed into guys back home, but had never officially played it as a sport. "That sounds cool. We should try that!"

Autumn laughed loudly. This boy was an accident waiting to happen. She knew she was going to like him. "I've gotten a lot of stitches," She said while pulling her jacket sleeve up showing Drew a nice sized scar on her arm. It went from a little above her wrist to right below her elbow "Got this one my first time on a broom. I have since learned how to not fall off."
She absentmindedly fixed her bangs, a tic she wished to lose sooner rather then later. "A derby team would be very cool. The team I was on at home was called the Glasgow Gashers. We were known for our...well interesting tactics. I mean, we never tried to hurt anyone, it just ended up that way most of the time. I got my nose broken in a game. The worst part was that mum couldn't fix it until after the game!" She made a pained face when she thought back to that game.

"Cool!" Drew cried out, admiring her scars. It was pretty big for a broom accident and Drew imagined she had fallen pretty hard to get it.
He gave a short laugh in sympathy. He had been there more than a few times as well. "Yeah, I know that," he told her. "Both times I broke my arm, the Muggle neighbors saw it so I was stuck in a cast for six weeks. My mom said it was punishment for jumping off buildings."

"Six weeks?" Autumn exclaimed. "I heard those casts are itchy. I don't think I could stand six weeks in a plaster implement of doom." She cringed at the thought. She rubbed her arm, thinking of how it would feel to have a large thing on it that wouldn't let her move her arm. Muggle medicine was just plain torture.
"This one time my sister Greer cut her finger open in a Muggle store and we had to to go the hospital since we didn't want to risk getting caught. It took forever for the Muggle healers to get to us and then she had to get stitched up!" She said laughing a little, "I remember when she took off the bandages. They actually stitched her up. I couldn't believe it. Well, until I had to get stitches that is."

"Six was better than eight which is what the Muggle doctors originally said. I tried to convince my mom to make it four, but she said that was too suspicious," Drew answered with a smirk.
The mention of stitches urged him to touch the back of his head, feeling for the scar he had gotten his first year. He had busted his head at school so hadn't needed stitches, but he could still find the old injury. "Never had stiches. I guess I'm lucky," he told her. "But I do have my share of scars."

"Stitches aren't bad after you get them. I mean, it is weird, having your skin sewn up. But after that it's pretty cool. I mean Muggle healers really know their stuff. I don't know how some people live without magic!" She fixed her jacket, flicking a dried up leaf off her shoulder. "I mean, if my mum had to clean the house without magic she'd never let the fam back in for fear we'd mess it up again!"
"We have house elves here right? I heard they go around when we're sleeping and clean the common rooms and the such. Never met a house elf before. I always wanted to though." Autumn glanced around again, seeing the people who she'd be spending the rest of the year with. "Do you ever see the house elves?"

Drew nodded a casual agreement, but didn't say much else on the topic of Muggle medicine. Autumn seemed to be okay with Muggles, but he still didn't think it was a good idea to discuss politics with someone he pretty much just meant.
But the house cleaning subject made him laugh. "My mom made me and my sister do the chores the Muggle way," Drew told her. "Said it would make us appreciate our magic later in life." He had to admit that it kind of worked.
"We have house elves here, yeah, but they're pretty good at staying out of sight," he told her. "You see them every once in a while, but it's usually when you're staying up late or something."
