The journey had been long, but fairly painless. As always, it was difficult for Caleb so say bye to his mum, especially when she was so spaced out and hadn't even realized he was there. The newest Hufflepuff wasn't even sure if this was a step up from her old drunken hazes or a step down. At least this way she wasn't poising her body anymore. With a sigh, Caleb pushed the thoughts out of his mind and pushed the front doors open, taking a few timid steps into the Entrance Hall that awaited him.
Caleb stood for a moment, taking in his surroundings. He took his jacket off and draped it over his arm with his trunk sitting at his side. Caleb looked around him, getting used to what the walls looked like, the floors, the stairs, the paintings, everything. He was getting used to what would be home now for a year and a half. Caleb didn't really have another home to go to anymore so...this was it. With a heavy sigh, Caleb leaned down and picked up the edge of his trunk. He eyed the stairs with a determined expression, wondering where exactly he was supposed to be going.

Fresh air. That was exactly what the over-hyper Gryffindor lioness needed. Fresh air. Either that or a cold splash of water on her face. March...finally. Winter was her favourite season, Autumn following, but after that was Spring. No, birds weren't quite chirping lovely songs for finding mates, nor flowers poking their bright little faces up from the ground, not yet anyway, but there was always hope for it to happen. Besides that, Felicity was planning on a nice quick-paced jog around the grounds. Nothing like adding a bit of excercise to your routine when you were pumped full of liveliness.
Things were looking up, getting better. No, she nad Drew weren't dating any longer, but at least they were working on getting their friendship back, maybe it wouldn't take long and they'd be able to date again. She could tell he still liked her as much as she liked him, but she still thought being friends was the best bet for now. At least they wouldn't be fighting as much, hopefully. And they were talking things out, which was always good. Then again, if they decided not to date, at least they would still be friends, which was much more important to her than anything else.
Rushing from the girl's dorm down the stairs, scrambling out of the portrait opening, nearly falling and having to hop a bit to recatch her balance, Felicity raced down the stairs, careful to miss the one's she had an affinity for falling through, and as per usual, was out of breath by the time she made it down the last set of stairs. Normally, for whatever reason she usually ran into someone when she was moving like she was, didn't stop her from going fast, but this time she lucked out. Instead of tumbling down the stairs, she lost her balance skipping over the second to last stair and went rushing past a blurred figure, crashing into the wall.
Well, that was certainly a different experience.

Caleb had only walked up the first couple steps before he figured it was best to come up with a game plan first. It didn't have to be Wellington's at Waterloo, but some sort of plan was in order or else he'd never find his way around this place. His last school hadn't been this big and Caleb knew it was going to take him a couple trial runs before he got everything down. The Hufflepuff turned and pushed his trunk out of the way of the stairs and took a seat out of the way as well. He took the map out of his pocket that had come with his letter and tried to figure out which direction he was to go in. However, Caleb's plan-making was interrupted when someone, or something, went darting past him.
Jumping up, Caleb rushed to the side of the blond head of hair that had just crashed into the wall opposite him. "Jeez, love. Are you alright?" Caleb asked the girl when he got closer to her and reached out to help steady her a bit. She'd smacked the wall pretty hard and he hoped she was going to be okay.

Really new experience. But there was a plus with this one, at least she wasn't falling over someone. Normally, either she fell into them, over them, and with them, or she fell in front of them like that new Slytherin she'd ungracefully met not long back with Celina. The wall was solid. It didn't fall with her, which was probably a good thing. If it did fall with her, she'd probably be in trouble, and she was all ready in enough of it as it was. No need to add a crumbling wall on top of everything else. That would probably be worse than everything else that was all ready going on. Nope, best if the wall stayed put.
Taking a half a step away from the solid stone, she shook her head, aware of the someone there beside her, but figuring it was someone she knew and who had experienced her catastophic stops before.
Turning her light brown eyes toward the person, she blinked a moment, and again. No, she was pretty sure this was a new face, again.
"Ummm...yes," she answered after a moments too long of hesitation. A furrow of the light blonde eyebrows made their way shown as she looked up at the face. Maybe it was someone she did know? No, she was usually good with faces and names, except that one Hufflepuff girl's name, she could never remember hers for some reason.
"Hi," she said bluntly, a somewhat confused smile flashing across her face. "I don't...don't mean to be rude, but do I know you?" No harm in asking. After all, he did call her love, and from her experience most of the students didn't really say love, other than a few. Actually, she thought she was about the only one she'd really heard use it. Funny.

Caleb looked at her with just as much confusion as she looked at him with. The poor girl seemed to be really out of it from that knock and his hand instinctively went to her back to hold her up, in case she felt the need to topple over. "No, you don't," Caleb answered simply, still looking curiously at the girl, "I just got here. Transferred in." He flashed her a light smile, but his eyes still showed concern. Hoping she wouldn't take it as being too forward, Caleb tried turning the girl back in the direction of the stairs.
"Here," he offered, "Would you like to sit?" Caleb made sure she was steady before he stuck his foot out and kicked his trunk toward him, figuring it was best if she didn't have to move too far down to take a seat if she wanted it. "Would you like some water or something?" Caleb asked, already reaching toward his coat where his bottle resided in case she took him up on his offer.

The look on his face matched hers, and quite well. That was almost the look she got when she ran into people. Corey, that look almost matched Corey's, except his sometimes had a hint of amusement and a hint of anger, really depended on his mood and how many people were around to witness the event. Though, she thought deep down, he didn't mind too much, because he only talked to her afterwards, didn't ever yell at her which was a nice thing. And really, she liked running into him too, they always managed a good conversation from it. On the other hand, since that February night, she didn't push him as much. She still wasn't sure if he was just playing with her and trying to get her to be quiet, or if he was being honest. His voice hadn't been sarcastic, she she was torn on that.
"Ah..." she trailed off. So she didn't know him. And another new person? Maybe the Hufflepuff girl would get an interview in, new student, get his take on everything that happened in January and how he felt about being put into Hogwarts after the fact. Or maybe he didn't know. No, he had to have known...or maybe not. Either way, maybe an interview and another article to add to the paper.
The hand on her back didn't bother her, she figured it was instinct to reach out and steady a person, after all, she did just run into a wall. On the other hand, she needed to get outside to run. Running was on the agenda, the plan, but a good plan always planned for interruptions, even if the interruptions were unplanned. Did that even make any sense? Perhaps she did hit her head a little harder than she thought. Still better than tumbling down the stairs, but at least she wasn't in her skirted uniform this time.
Shaking her head, she was pretty sure she'd be fine. Just walk it off. No broken bones, no aches or pains, and she could breathe. Yes, she was fine, or would be at least.
"No, I'm fine, thank you." There were still times she wondered if the water was tampered with. But if he just got there, then he couldn't have had Hogwarts water, could he have? She wasn't sure.
"I'm Felicity Hjort," she smiled again, sticking her hand out. Best to go at it with a handed out hand, best way for another to see you meant no real harm and weren't afraid of business. In this case, business being introducing herself or being embarrassed about her latest mishap.

Not entirely convinced she was really alright, Caleb still pulled out his bottle of water and held onto it, just in case. He finally moved his hand from her back, but stayed close. However, when the girl offered her hand, he looked down at her and smiled, taking her hand in his and shaking it. "Hello Felicity," Caleb greeted her politely, only now really getting a good look at her, "I'm Caleb. Caleb Walker." Caleb's hand lingered a little long on hers as he found himself just looking at her. Caleb wasn't quite sure how he hadn't noticed her beauty before, but that was probably because she'd darted past him and head-first into a wall. But now, now he was looking at her and he definitely saw it. And those eyes...
Enough! Caleb scolded himself. He finally let go of her hand and turned his eyes away from her. "Are you sure you're alright, Felicity?" Caleb asked again, still concerned, "That was a rather nasty knock."

"It's nice to meet you Caleb," Felicity answered in response, not really taking note of anything. At least this time she could say it was nice to meet someone, she wasn't falling over them or in front of them. This time was definitely different, a wall to run into of all things. But, she wasn't bleeding that she was aware of and she hadn't hurt any body part this time, well, her freckled nose a little bit, but that was normal.
He had a bottle out, and she did let her eyes linger on that a bit, perhaps he was careful about the water he drank? Could be. And while Drew had somewhat detered her from her thoughts of the Hogwarts water, she still wasn't sure of it. Though, things had calmed down a bit, no one lately had told her they liked her, other than Drew, and she liked that he liked her. On the other hand, that conversation with Corey had been interesting, enough that she changed the subject herself.
"That wasn't really anything," she smiled. "I'm just glad I didn't knock you over, I usually have a habit of doing that."

Caleb flashed the girl another smile, and took a seat on his trunk, leaving a space for Felicity if she felt the urge to sit finally. He twisted open his plastic bottle, cracking the seal and taking a sip. "It would have taken quite a bit to knock me over," Caleb told her in a playful tone, "Where were you heading out to in such a rush anyways?" Caleb hoped he wasn't holding her up from something important that she had to do. If so, he would have felt really bad.

Watching him, she realized the new boy must have been muggle born, or halfblood, unless he was like Drew and knew a lot about muggle things but was a pureblood anyway. Celina didn't know what in the world bottled water was, and she'd given her a funny look when she'd tried explaining it, for some reason the Ravenclaw couldn't understand why muggles would bother with bottling it when it came free.
Smiling in response, a small giggle escaped. It didn't seem to take a whole lot to knock most people down, just a little push and...oh wait, she was usually going full steam ahead when it happened.
"I was going to go running," she explained simply. Nothing more than to burn off a bit of hyperness she carried that day. "And get some fresh air, and enjoy Winter melting away into Spring."

Caleb couldn't help but chuckle slightly as he heard her giggle. He watched her as she smiled, unable to keep his own smile off his face. When she explained her reason for running through the castle, Caleb laughed right out loud. It seemed appropriate and he supposed he should have guessed that. "Sounds like a plan," Caleb nodded, "You be careful though, alright?" He smiled at her again and chuckled softly, but then got an idea. He wasn't sure if it was too forward but it was worth a shot.
"Hey, do you...mind if I join you?" Caleb asked her, "Feel free to say no if you want to. I was just...curious."

Wrinkling her nose at Caleb, she grinned back at him, recognizing the tease, which was a plus. Clumsy and klutzy she could be, but normally she wasn't too bad, only when she was in a rush. Getting outside was priority at the time, which had been Felicity's reason for running down the stairs like she had, but once she got out there, she wouldn't have to rush. Why rush fresh air?
Tilting her head slightly to the right, she smiled softly. There weren't too many that offered to run with you, and with Quidditch off season at the moment, there was less activity than was normal. "You can if you want," she offered. "But you might want to put your trunk away first."

Caleb let a grin creep onto his face as the girl crinkled her nose at him. He found it adorable, to say the least. He flashed his smile at her and even chuckled softly. Suddenly he found himself staring probably with a ridiculous, dreamy look in his eyes and he casually snapped out of it. He really hoped that hadn't been obvious. If it had, he didn't know what he'd do. Not only would it be embarrassing, but it would also probably creep her right now. With another quick smile, Caleb looked under him at his trunk and stood up off it.
"Yeah, that might be a good idea," Caleb agreed with her and then looked down at his clothes, "And a change of clothes might be good too." The Hufflepuff boy looked at Felicity and frowned slightly. She was already ready to go, and he knew it would take him a while to find where he was supposed to go and change. "How about you just go on without me?" Caleb suggested, "It might take me a bit to navigate my way around here and get changed. Perhaps we can do this another time, then?"

Obliviousness was a part of Felicity's nature, and she didn't notice anything odd about the boy, though she stood there looking at him. Well, he had a nice smile, but that wasn't odd. There were a lot of boys with nice smiles at Hogwarts, and she liked a good majority of them, they were nice. Though, there was one especially who she didn't like, but even he had a nice smile she was sure. All right, so she hadn't exactly seen him smile, but she was sure he had a nice one.
Glancing at the boy's clothing, she nodded in agreement. Running clothes would be best to wear, as that was what she was planning on doing...running.
And when he offered to take a raincheck, she smiled. It wasn't necessary, it wasn't like the day was nearing its end. But he was right, it would probably take a bit of time to find his way to the Hufflepuff dormitories, as she had no idea. If Drew was around he could point the boy in the correct direction, he said he knew where the common rooms were.
"I can wait, if you want me to," she told him softly. While she yearned to get outside, it didn't mean she'd have to take right off without him.

Felicity hadn't seemed to notice him looking at her the way he had and for that he was grateful. If she had seen him, she might have thought he was a little creepy. Not the impression he intended to give.
Caleb glanced at her with a smile and tilted his head to the side slightly. "You sure you don't mind waiting?" Caleb asked her. It really wasn't a problem is she wanted to go on without him, but if she wanted to stay, she could stay. He grabbed his trunk and turned back to the stairs. "I'll be quick, I promise," Caleb told Felicity with a smile.
