With Jednyak calmed, all stations secure and the students far from a rioting level of attention it went without saying that Robert Shaw was both quite relieved and in belief that the hardest moment was now past. Within another couple hours the first of the students would fall into a nightmareish slumber, and while it was not the most pleasant of states it was better than an uproar at his throat. Some still had wands, most likely several of the younger ones considering the defensive actions that had been taken but for now the goal was a perimeter and containment. Partial liberty could be granted in the morning.
Following his discussion with Jednyak, Robert tok a seat on the main staircase steps just as the armor sentries were brought to a basic form of reactive life. Perimeter secured, now for the waiting. It want without a second thought that Robert was among other things stressed, fatigued, and in many ways as nervous as those he held respectively captive. With head bowed he took little notice of the single body that appeared in the doorway, soon flanked by three more but his sentry Jacobs had.
"Sir."
He looked up to find that his gray eyes met four pair of eyes with varying colors that were attached to four older faces, all who were (for all appearance sakes) unarmed. Jacobs made a move, drawing his wand in the process but Shaw waved him off and backward. He didn't need (or want) an open door or a headache this early on but if he had to pick between the two, he'd certainly take the headache.
"Can I help you?" Shaw questioned, tired but equivilantly alert eyes making a glance through the gaps in their ranks. Four. Four and no more.

The proverbial white flag had been raised and Drew had assured the other three students that he was not in this for any sort of petty revenge. This was neither the time nor place for personal vendettas.
That's not to say that he didn't seek this meeting out, convincing Corey and Krissy to let him in on it. He needed to face Shaw, look the man in the eye and not be afraid... or at very least, realize that he could keep his fear to himself.
He had redressed in the proper school uniform, straightening his tie, and looking like a model student. He wasn't sure why, but he felt better not going before the man looking like a beaten shlump of a boy. Hannah's wand was out of his sock and back under the table in her possesion. Drew wasn't sure if they'd be checked for weapons and he didn't want to lose the only wand he had access to.
They stood there before the man who was in charge and waited to be recognized.
"Can I help you?" Shaw asked and Drew set his jaw so as not to snort at the absurdity of the question. The Ravenclaw said nothing in return. Corey and Krissy had the right to start any negotiations, not him.

Corey and Krissy had come together and they organised this. Krissy had more then one thing she needed to discuss with Shaw. They had told the others. This was something that they felt needed representatives from each house. There one's there were the ones that controlled the other houses, but nor necessarily the prefects. Krissy trusted all of them and would happily die beside them in battle. Not that this scenario was likely to amount to that. However as the member of the faceless raced to Shaw and drew his wand Krissy almost thought she would need to curse him before she could speak to Shaw. However Shaw was wise enough to usher the faceless away for the moment.
Krissy of course still carried her wand and was still dressed in her school uniform which still maintained its unusual cleanliness. Her wand remained in the sleeve of her robes, ready to access at any moment. She wasn't 10% sure but she was pretty sure that she was the only one of the 4 to still be holding their wand. It meant it spells were shot she would need to produce a rather quick, and strong sheild charm to protect the others. However she was sure this was unlikely to come to that.
It was a discussion, kind of like a pirates parlay, they planned on speaking to Shaw, not cursing him to next week (no matter how much all of them craved to do it). Shaw spoke, his question absurd but straight to the point. Krissy had much to bargain for right now and so being straight to the point was good in her eyes. Krissy looked at Shaw, almost as though sizeing him up. Their previous encounter flickered through Krissy's mind, she was sure the lines had not yet moved. He would not want a dead student, not this early on. She needed to fetch Marks meds, they were important, she also would love to fetch her own pain killers from her trunk. Her own ribs were throbbing at that moment, the crawling under the tables having not done them any good.
The other thing was her pets. They needed food. She wanted to make sure they were fed. Her owls could get their own, her pets that were locked in the common room were the other problem. Perhaps he would allow her to go down and feed them each day, or organise for house elves to do it. Either way, the animals wee high on her list as well. If none of those were agree'd upon she would get the pet food and spread it all over the dorm. At least then there would be food accessible for the animals.
Krissy glanced to the others momentarily "I need to go down to Hufflepuff" she said sternly, looking at Shaw with a serious look on her face. She wasn't much of a negtiator, but to her that fact was not negotiable. She needed to go there. Krissy glanced to the others again momentarily, she hoped they wouldn't mind her speaking up first. She didn't bother expanding at this moment, she wanted to see Shaw's initial reaction to her request.

Well after Charlie had given Faulkland words that she wouldn't have liked to say to anyone, and until the moment that they were in front of Shaw, her flurry of fury had quelled with the day turning into night. She wasn't docile by any means, but the intial shock had ridden its wave and it was time to get some negotiations in.
Her hard set expression of lips thinned to a scowl, jutted and knitted eyebrows, and nostrils flaring periodically were constants fixture on her face, and they remained in the time being as the other three student leaders had gone up, ready to go. She had taken her spot next to Drew, giving him a firm nod before they came to the steps.
And there was Shaw, sitting there like the king of corruption. If they didn't have to play more diplomatic functions, Charlie would have liked the spit on the man to express her disgust. Yet through her resistence through attitude, she would have flinched had the Deva member with the pending wand come closer to them all. It had come down to a situation where it felt like they had to surrender and kiss his feet. Charlie would have liked to see it another way.

The air of the room as he'd crossed the doorway was equivalent to that of an old style western muggle saloon who'd just had it's doors opened at the precisely wrong moment. Corey wasn't sure which side of the room's foggy and downright nasty smelling air he was on, and that was a very big problem. If anything he'd have preferred to play the role of the generally innocent bartender--not so lucky this time around. No this time he held a sheriff's badge and it shined right there where his Head Boy badge was currently pinned.
There was one question going through his head both prior to entering and where he stood now and that was quite simply: Could he do this? Could he face Robert Shaw after being his pupil for a year and a half, after his betrayal, could he face him after all the acts that had occurred simply because he'd lifted a finger and his discretion was thereby obeyed? Well he didn't right have much of a choice and so he was methodically stuck next to Krissy on the end just in time to hear:
"I need to go down to Hufflepuff"
And already they were in the hole....wonderful. "Krissy...now really ain' the time to put your pride before your brain...." Corey cautioned vainly while keeping his eyes on the man before them. He'd made it this far, now came the part where he kept this negotiations in play before Shaw shut them down at the door. Wouldn't be too difficult, all he had to do was open his mouth and speak...not difficult at all...except looking at Robert Shaw, and talking to Robert Shaw, were two completely different matters.
"You can help us by hearin' us ou'. S'all we're askin'..." the words came out awkward, and nearly forced, but who could really blame him? He hadn't seen or spoken to Robert Shaw since his last days as a professor, and while he didn't doubt the stories and atrocities that were reported, he didn't fully wish to believe them either. He simply didn't want to be able to pin so much to a man he'd once considered an ally...

The Great Hall, as it had been called many times by this point was interesting, but Elizabeth felt it would be much more so without the noises created by the children. Especially the three she had encountered while for the short time she had taken post for another. Really, children were dispicable creatures, and she still did not fully comprehend why Shaw found it in his favor to over take a school. Of course, there was good reasoning, it seemed there always was with his way about things, but sometimes it did not make sense.
Did it really matter whether she understood or not? No, not really. Elizabeth was a pawn, she had accepted this fact when she agreed to allow her curiosity to beat her out. But her curiosity was not quenched with allowing herself to be moved by another, to be put into situations that could, and probably would, very well threaten her very being. On the other hand, there was something about this man, about the way he chose to express his thoughts to her, how he answered her questions, and that was how she had ended there, at the school, a place she had never thought of setting foot in before.
He had proposed she join ranks, he allowed her to ask questions to her hearts content, she had agreed to something she was not even quite sure what it was. This whole idea of purity, a new rule, it was intriguing, and she was unable to deny that he was quite tempting with his ideas. This, among her own interests were the very reasons she was present at this time, the reason why she was among ranks.
Standing her own post, in the hall, she could see this very man, the one who intrigued her mind, making her quite curious to figure him out, to understand what ideals he believed, looked somewhat down-trodden. This was supposed to be a victory, was it not? Then why did he look how he did? It was neither the time nor the place to ask questions, she doubted he would be pleased if she began, but her mind was reeling with them, trying to make what connections she could.
However, as she stood in her own presence, she was brought out of all thought at the approaching children. Well, the could hardly be called children, they looked to be the older of them. Elizabeth waited, to see this man's reaction, but there was hardly any. He did not pull his own wand, he did not try to stop them, he almost welcomed them, as welcome as he could in such a situation that is.
From where she stood, she could not hear conversation if one were to take place, and she was quite sure one would, and it would be an interesting one not to be missed. Leaving her post, as she did not see how it would matter whether she was there or not, it wasn't as though she were really guarding a door. All right, so she had been, but that did not mean someone else would not cover, and as she moved away, without the slightest of acknowledgements of her movement, one of the Deva scowled from a bit further down than she was and quickly took her place.
Shaw had told her what she would need to find the answers to many of her questions, she would need to observe, and to answer such inquiries, she would need to be near Shaw. It was he that intrigued her, his ideas, beliefs, and it was only he who could answer the questions that most desired to be spoken aloud.
Something the woman felt the need to have answered was how he was going to react to these children. And the only way to have that answered, was by being closer, within hearing, and she had the belief, that for some reason, the man would not mind her presence, though he had shaken away the sentry.
The first words to touch her ears were that of Shaw's asking them blatanly what it was they desired, and then the, were they harsh?, words of the one girl. However, a small smile played at her lips at the retort the shorter of the gentlemen made.
Elizabeth had long since placed her wand in safe keeping, she saw no reason for it to be brandished about as many seemed to, she was not there to harm any of them. In fact, she was not really even there for any other reason than curiosity.
Elizabeth thought about stopping just short of the children, but they really could not be called as such, could they? They hardly looked much younger than she. But, she just could not do it. This was a situation, where in order to really, truly understand Shaw, she would need to be in closer.
Moving around the four, she glanced over at him, giving the curtest of nods, letting him know she would do his biding and turn away if she were refused at the party, but it was a situation where she had to try.

It didn't take his fatigued eyes and ever running memory long to piece together names with former faces, however one surprisingly stood out much more than the others and it wasn't because he'd taught him longer. "I need to go down to Hufflepuff" Well that got the question answered through a most direct route. So the four of them were here to negotiate were they? could Hogwarts actually have managed to keep a few rational brains among the chaos, could there really be those worthy of walking with him still? It was doubtful, highly doubtful and yet...
"Krissy...now really ain' the time to put your pride before your brain...." A pause. "You can help us by hearin' us ou'. S'all we're askin'...
And yet highly possible still. He doubted increasingly that those before him would willingly choose his side, two had already made their choices, but the others, they still had quite an undertaking to consider. They had a path to choose and it would begin right here, right here and now. "I'm listening Mr. Faulkland. I ask only that you speak a bit more confidently next time, unless the pressure of your title is getting to you?" Movement followed from the opposite side of his vision as Reese moved into view and his gray orbs glanced over to follow. So the curious cat had ventured into the garden after all? Perhaps it was indeed better for her sake that rules and orders were both meant to be broken, and that she held far less weight on her shoulders than those within the hall.
"Now down to business then shall we? Miss Fleming could you kindly tell me why, considering there are more than likely several wands within the confines of your common room that should I let you go there and risk the safety of both the intricate security network I have set up and the lives of those you have around you?" He was willing to deal, students knew much more about what they needed than the staff could ascertain by talking to them. He knew the relationship between the two. The staff were around to teach and punish, nothing more nothing less and while to many he had been no different and far worse in retrospect, he at least knew where to give respect and in turn hopefully receive it in kind.

She longed to shoot the glare that begged to escape onto her face at Corey as he told her that it wasn't a time to put her pride before her brain, and she longed to speak up and say that for Shaw to just listen to them wasn't all she was asking. All she was asking was to be allowed to go down to Hufflepuff to fetch a sick kids meds. The other stuff was circumstantial at that time. However she neither glared at Corey or retorted to him. She knew he just wanted to stop her from doing something stupid but she also knew it wouldn't look good if they were fighting between themselves. There was a reason all 4 of them were there, each a representative of their own house, their own values, but also showing that thought the Deva had infiltrated they were standing united against them. Moral was not yet broken.
However Shaw seemed not to react badly to her words as was probably expected by some and instead spoke directly to her. Questioning her on her motives and reasoning's why. There were a few ways Krissy could go about answering butn Krissy was always pretty direct when something needed to get done. It was unlikely her words would be chosen all too carefully. However Krissy did know she needed him to understand the severity of the situation. Krissy's eyes glanced over to the moving deva member, making sure the woman didn't move too close and then focussed upon Shaw "Because unless those lines have moved so drastically and you wouldn't mind a million people who don't even know his name hunting you, then you should let me go down to Hufflepuff to fetch Mark's meds, because without them he will die and it'll be you that gets held responsible." Lines from their previous conversation, words that, although perhaps confusing to some, were very likely to be understood by Shaw.
Krissy's eyes watched Shaw closely, trying to pick up signs of emotions from his movements or words. He was a very hard man to read and although he was basically the route of al evil, he intrigued Krissy. She didn't understand his motives or his actions, which led her to being curious and wanting to find out.
Her words weren't a thread more just plain fact. It was unlikely papers would state that Mark died of a disease he already had, they would state that he had died, and speak of Shaw's involvement. Shaw would be the one held responsible by the wizarding populace if Mark died. However Krissy had no intentions of allowing that to happen. If Shaw refused her request it was likely she would curse the two guards guarding the dungeons and run down to Hufflepuff to fetch the med's with deva chasing her. However she was trying negotiations first. Not that she had anything that Shaw wanted, but she was still sure he did not wish to have any student die. Not yet.

It went without question that Krissy's overall needs took priority in their retrieval, but her method of going about it seemed alittle off to what Ravenclaw logic he could muster. The main flaw was of course, that managing to tick off Robert Shaw before they'd gotten anything completely contradicted the intent of their mission. But, she was out ahead of him, now quite possibly a bit beyond royally pissed at him and, the quaffle was back in Shaw's possession. He seemed a reasonable man, or at least slightly humane. But given the overall stress everyone was under, even his possible reaction was unpredictable. Neither side wanted death, and neither side (he hoped) wanted personal injury to befall anyone, but he truthfully was beginning to wonder if any of them were truly thinking correctly in even talking to Shaw in the first place.
The seventh year's eyes flicked to Drew and Charlie and then from Krissy to Shaw and back again. The air was almost screaming with silent tension and while he normally wouldn't be one for waiting, he was even more against it now. Patience was not an easily acquired Gryffindor trait, or at least not easily adapted and then adopted. Now the worst he could do was say no, and the worst Krissy could do was...well...actually that was something even he couldn't foresee but it probably would envelope the words brash and stupid as part of it's description. All in all, nothing at the moment was too incredibly surprising but he doubted it would stay boring for long.

Negotiation was a necessity with any hostage situation, it simply came with the territory much like windows and a door came with a house. However normally it was the law who negotiated and the hostages who kept silent, so far there had been no contact from the outside, and all contact from the students, even the category of role-reversal did this set of circumstances no justice. But he would humor them. He would hear them out and while he couldn't guarantee them too much as far as liberties and grace, he could at the very least assure them that they had some sort of voice -- as long as they didn't take it for granted.
"Because unless those lines have moved so drastically and you wouldn't mind a million people who don't even know his name hunting you, then you should let me go down to Hufflepuff to fetch Mark's meds, because without them he will die and it'll be you that gets held responsible."
As the Hufflepuff continued to tirade and attempt to force her way over him, Robert could only chuckle in what was a truthfully very morbid moment of his own humor. "Perhaps you should try stating why you need to go down there the first time around instead of wasting your own breath and risking your entire conference. I have no reason to believe this boy is actually dying, nor shall I ask for physical proof." He paused while shaking his head lightly for a moment as his humor gave way to full-jacket seriousness. "Go and get the boy's medication Miss Fleming and it should be that which you return with and nothing more. Rest assured if half your house suddenly produce wands I'll know exactly who to leave motionless on the floor."
While death before had been an empty threat, here it was far from a bluff card. He hadn't planned on having to let any of them return to their commons, and it certainly would not be granted to those from Gryffindor or Ravenclaw. "However before you carry on your way, I'm curious as to why his medication resides there as opposed to the hospital wing. Surely your nurse is competent enough to deal with simple pills and potions, or has Mr. Thornton's medical distrust spread among the masses now?"

Drew gave a wry little smirk in response to Shaw's answer. The Ravenclaw was far from the only person who mistrusted the Hospital wing, but yes, he was probably top of the list. Krissy, of course, was a very close second, willing to accept non magical remedies from what Drew had heard.
"Certain conditions require immediate attention and to trek up, even two flights of steps could be the difference between life and death... especailly when the Hospital wing is usually so poorly staffed." Drew raised his eyebrow at this, pretty sure Shaw would remember the problems they had had with nurses in the last few years.
"Medications, food for the pets, personal hygine items, possibly pillows, blanket,s and a few items to keep some of the kids occupied... depending on how long you plan on holding us here," Drew added on hoping that Shaw would see the rational to the request. Idle hands were the devil's playthings after all.

Indeed, it was good such things were meant to be broken, and she was sure Shaw might have a word or two to say to her later, but for the time being, it really did not matter. It was doubtful he would be wiling to kill her curiosity, being it was the only thing keeping her there. Her boredom, even in that small amount of time they were there was already getting to be horrible.
But, as per usual, Shaw surprised her. He was willing to hear out the children's demands, to give them a chance to give a good argument, as to why they should be allowed in their common rooms. And while she did not disagree for certain things, it made her wonder if that would be one more task added to their list of things to do. Would they be required to comb through every bit brought back, to search through it all to be sure they only brought back what they were given permission to bring? Really, there were a few items she could imagine being needed in such circumstances, as it seemed unclear as to how long they would be remaining there, no one wanted a group of smelly children running about.
But medications? Surely Shaw would not deny a child something so important? He did not seem to be heartless, confusing, interesting, quite a man with words, but definitely not cruel. And if another child was concerned about this particular child getting his medications, it must have been quite necessary, and if Shaw denied, she would be doing something about it anyway. There was no reason for such things, but Elizabeth was quite pleased he granted permission for it.
The threat served after was not harmless though, just the tone he used was proof enough of that. However, Elizabeth really did not see this man hurting children, perhaps sending a few hexes in their direction, but not really any serious harm, then again, he was interesting. And she had not yet quite figured out so many things as of yet.
However, he had a very good point. If there were medications, why were they located in the rooms rather than in facilities designed for such things? Then again, if there was chance of the boy dying, as the young woman had said, then it was quite possible such things were needed to be in close quarters to the child she spoke of. And Shaw had already explained that it was not possible to aparate within the confines of the quadrants, therefore if the child was in dire need of said things, it was quite understandable to her why the medication was located where he most likely spent much of his time. And as her thoughts were played out in mind, the taller of the two gentlemen echoed such things.
As the young man added on, she understood the need for medications, food for animals which if Shaw did not grant, she would be taking care of herself, it was what she did with her life after all, there was no need for such things not to be fed, and a other such items. Blankets would do well really, being they would keep the children a bit more quiet and warmer. And if they had something to keep themselves busy, it would be likely there would be less nuisances.
Turning to look at Shaw, she awaited his answer, as did the children who had approached him to inquire and request. True, he had given his answer to the Miss Fleming, but what of the others? Would he allow them the same privileges?
Again, he was the player of the game, the one who made the moves, calculated each and every angle that could be seen before setting his mark, making his move, taking his chance. Elizabeth found what the taller gentlemen said to be quite needed, but in the end, as it was with this entire situation, it was really Shaw's last word that went, except in certain situations.

Krissy didn't believe she had risked anything, her words, though quick and rather heated had been heard by the man. She probably would have spoke, answered his question, but Drew did it for her instead. Which was probably a good idea, her words would have been poorly chosen and she had been granted what she wanted and needed. It was the others turns to bargain. She wouldn't be rising Marks health to grab anything from her common room, she wasn't that silly, but she would probably pocket her pain killers while she was in there. It was doubtful Shaw would pick up that they weren't for Mark but for herself. They were still medication.
Krissy kept her mouth shut as Drew spoke of what else was needed, he had a good tack of going about what he wanted. He was asking more then bargaining and that was probably what was needed. She would wait around to hear the outcome of this meeting before trekking down to fetch Marks meds. She knew he was okay for the moment. Krissy knew it was better for her to keep her mouth shut for now, and she knew Corey would be very happy with that plan. She just had to hope Shaw didn't try to push her buttons or she might snap. However what was to happen was anyones guess.
