Day One, 4:30 or so, First Aid Tent located near Stage 4
Kellen had been manning the first aid tent for nearly four hours. Of course, being the youngest and least experienced Healer on call had him there with no breaks, but he didn't really mind much. They were located far enough away from the stage that the music didn't deafen him and they weren't surrounded by sweating fans, but near enough he could hear all the music coming from Stage Four clearly enough.
He'd enjoyed the first band quite a lot; he'd have to look into this Benefit of Doubt group. Jeannista Robelia was about midway through her set, and though he knew how popular she could be, he wasn't as enthralled as her every-growing audience.
But it was fine; he'd been keeping busy enough. Most of the people who came to the tent needed cures for their sunburns. Kellen couldn't help but think that if they'd taken some minor precautions to begin with, the sunburns never would have happened, but he kept his judgements on the down low, save to give some advice for the following day.
There were enough people passing through to keep him from getting bored but not enough to stress him out--really, it was perfect.

It was sunny, unbearably hot and definitely summer and unlike most everyone else she actually had put on some minute amount of sun protection...it just wore off several hours ago and now she was paying the price of not bringing it with her. Forseeable, maybe for someone else, but for her not really, she wasn't one to forget things...or at least forget things that prevented eventual pain. That was now what she was certainly feeling everytime someone brushed against her arms, pain. Pure, annoying, sharp, burning (along with various other adjectives) pain. She wanted it gone before it drove her insane, or perhaps more realistically, to tears..
She wasn't really sure how, nor for that matter why she was anywhere near Stage Four considering who was up on the platform some distance away. Even with the much appreciated distance she had; the awful sounding drone of the speakers filled her ears and made her cringe. The sound was almost as unbearable as the pain from her arms that would no doubt certainly be peeling by tomorrow even with something put on them.
As she ducked into the much more greatful and enveloping shade of the edge of the aid station she quickly found that even there she wasn't safe from the unwanted grazings that shocked the taut nerves of her skin. As yet another careless soul (one of view meandering within the tent) glanced against her left arm (like she wasn't in the ruddy tent for a reason) the Hufflepuff teen flinched and let out and involuntary wince of pain that only turned into a short but verbalized cry of pain a moment later. It wasn't fair. Did the whole world know she had sunburn and picked this particular instance to make her day miserable? It was possible, as crimson red skin wasn't normal of anyone that she knew of, hair yes, skin, certainly not.
Sunburn was a bugger.

At the rate they were going, there was no way St. Mungo's temporary tent would have enough of the strong sunburn salves to last the entire festival--but that wasn't his problem. Not at the moment, anyway. His problem was the group of annoyed, disgruntled concert goers who all seemed quite sensitive to the touch. A school-aged girl was among the lot, and when it was her turn up at the table he smiled, jokingly, and asked "And what can we help you with today?" as though her tomato-red skin wasn't a clear indication.

She didn't mind waiting, it was a mass gathering of people lines were EVERYWHERE, waiting was supposed to be part of the fun - and part of the reason she was presently waiting here but that was irrelevant. In fact while she was peering over someone else's shoulders at a nearby ice cream booth waiting, there were a couple of others who thought she was either being childishly stubborn to her condition or just plain not in line and moved ahead of her. It only compounded her annoyance and completely nullified her patience, but this is what her near cat-like attention span got her.
Once it was finally her legitimate turn she found that there was one thing that annoyed her worse than the sunburn itself...jokes about it. But maybe he wasn't joking, maybe he was that clueless...ergh. She was annoyed, she hurt, and while she rarely ever did actually get angry today seemed to be the day where everyone was flipping her switches to try and make her - even if they didn't know it. It was working.
The Hufflepuff looked herself over with a brief glance of her eyes before meeting the eyes of the taller Healer. "I can't imagine..." she replied dryly. Truth was she'd noticed the sunburn an hour ago after the Rivalry performance, it wasn't all that good either but it was certainly better than what was 'rocking' her ears now. Why she hadn't just gone tot he aid station over by Stage Two was a mystery, but one could bet fairly that it had to do with stubbornness.
Alright, so it was a certain bet, but sunburn was still a bugger.

Ah, the girl didn't seem in the mood for jokes. Kellen had to wonder a little about these big, outdoor festivals like this. Everyone seemed to come to have a good time, but when it was actually going on, a lot of the people seemed to be miserable. It was overcrowded, too hot, everything was selling out, whatever it was. Still, he hoped that in their memories, they decided that they actually liked the event.
He fetched a strong sunburn salve for the girl. "Here you are," he said. There were donation jars right in plain view, but Kellen knew the hospital was losing money on things like this--but at least the festival organizers agreed to cover employee costs. "Tomorrow, if you're coming back, try Apollo's Sun Cream. It's the best brand out there to avoid sunburn."
