[ Physical Character Description: ]
Sebastian Fraser has always given off the impression that he a bold, rough and confident guy. From his 6'2 height, to his athletic though firm build, the man can appear to be both charming, though a bit standoff-ish. This is in fact the the opposite, being gentle and kind, though we'll leave that to his personality. Being tall for most of his life, Seb takes care of his body shape. If ever he found himself bored, he would go for a run or kick around the ball. This habit kept him in good shape throughout his youth. His style doesn't match his love of being active though. From a young age the boy (he could hardly be regarded as a man) was taught what was appropriate to dress in, and what wasn't. Sebastian was never one of those boys to stray from the school uniform, or turn up looking sloppy to a lesson. To this day, he prefers to wear pressed black dress pants, leather shoes, and long-sleeved button up shirts, and tasteful coats. This is mainly due to his current working conditions.
However, being a musician, Seb has another wardrobe altogether. These are mainly for performances, though they occasionally stray into his casual clothing gear. Various band tee-shirts, jackets, black jeans, converses and a few studded belt have their place in his fashion style. This style is only really evident when the youth takes off his working hat, and put on his musical one. He feels that the two things should be separate, and thats this into consideration vary seriously. Being professional and being passionate are two very different things to Sebastian.
Another thing that cause some to be cautious of him is his looks. Although the youth is regarded as good looking, he doesn't think much of it. Seb isn't self-conscious about his looks, but nor is he vain. They're just average, nothing special, to him. He has a defined jaw, that generally has a small amount of stumble on it. Seb tried it once, though never liked the bear or mustache look on him, though he doesn't mind the stumble look. Overall, he has a mild tan, nothing too dark, or pale. His face doesn't bear any blemishes any longer, and Sebastian has rather clear skin. A dimple can be noted on both of his cheeks, which is seen when the youth smiles. Having braces as a kid, he has straight teeth that are a clean shade of white. Sebastian has one set of periwinkle eyes, and dark lashes that make them stand out more. His eyebrows are the same dirty brown colour as his hair, which is cut slightly scruffy, though suiting to his looks.
[ Personality Character Description: ]
Despite the fact that Sebastian's looks make him look confident, firm and independent, he is hardly any of these things. From a young age, the youth was always treated as an outsider. This wasn't for any particular reason, but simply because he chose to be this way. Seb wasn't ever one of those boys who met up after school hours and ran a muck, or one of those guys who mouthed off at teachers or whistled at girls. Nor did he have all that many friends during his first years at Hogwarts. As a Hufflepuff, he was a very humble and loyal kind of boy, but he never had the friends to match this loyalty. Seb would rather go to the Library and read a book, or go for a run than hang out with others. In his age range, there weren't that many people that were as mature or defined minded as he was. So until the age of about sixteen, Sebastian never really had a group of friends. He was one of those quiet, intelligent kids, who was nice, but just didn't want to make friends.
After moving school at sixteen, the boy had realized this fact, and did something to change it. As he had been in a shell for a number of years, Sebastian came out of this when he moved to Durmstrang. In his final years, the youth made allot of new friends, and put aside his endless extra study to kick around a ball with others, or meet up for a round of butter beer now and then. Because of this personality change, Seb became the nice, smart and funny one. Over the years he had read a fair amount of novels, and had now developed a very smart, interesting, though very funny humor that people seemed to like. As a gentle and caring person, many people valued him as a friend, and put allot of trust into Seb, which gave him some confidence that was well used over the next years.
But because he was so quiet and withdrawn for years, the boy still had his obvious faults in accordance with this. Even to this day, when in an uncomfortable situation, Sebastian is try and fade into the background and remain as undetectable as possible. When first meeting someone, be it female or not, the youth isn't the kind of person he is once you get to know him. He acts quite closed to his personal life, though he still remains polite and kind. Sebastian only reviled what he likes to people he trusts, and no, he doesn't wear his heart on his sleeve. Even when he gets to know new people a little more, the youth can still appear to be rather shy and content. He likes to keep his past and personal life aside until he well and truly believes that a person is a genuine friend.
Sebastian takes allot seriously, as well. Even though he has a good sense of humor, if someone blows up at him for some reason, he will take every insult to heart. It's just one of the knacks. Over time he gets over what as been said, and tried to sort things out, but it just depends on the severity of the insults made. Of course, Seb doesn't try and start fights, physical or verbal, for he is not a violent person. But it's mainly because of the fact the he corrects people when they're wrong about certain things, and speaks his opinion quite freely. Being a musician, the youth is extremely passionate about music, lyrics and instruments. He has allot of respect for those who made a statement in the world of music, people like Bob Marley and the Beatles. Though he may not appear to be confident at first impressions, the more you get to know Sebastian, the more open and close he can become.
[ History: ]
Many people that that one's current personality is triggered from their past. This is the case for Sebastian Lance Fraser.
Approximately nine months after December the 31st, Lanna gave birth to a baby boy on the 9th of October. She was 22 at the time, and now had a new bundle of 'joy' in her life. Lets just say that Sebastian wasn't anything she had ever planned. Lanna Fraser had been been one of those mature, sensible and carefully women. She was a party-goer, and loved lots of attention, and unfortunately, lots of alcohol. Seb's father, Stewart Owens, wasn't the most responsible or decent man either. On New Years Eve, the two happened to be at the same rioting party, one a little more sober than the other. Lets just say Stewart took advantage of the situation, and snap, nine months later Lanna was landed with a child, and no father to match. Yes, Sebastian was a mistake, but his mother did have enough love in her heart to go on with the pregnancy. So really, right the the beginning, the boy wasn't going to start off in a normal life.
Seb grew up in a shabby little apartment in the lower class of London. After giving birth to her boy, Lanna took up her old habits of drinking a smoking, which were among the acceptable addictions over the years. By the time he was five, Sebastian had already realized that he was different, or more so his life was. We're not talking about being a wizard or anything of the such, but basically his life was being sucked into a drain hole of destruction and pain. Lanna had fast become an alcoholic within two years, and her smoking was beginning to even effect the young lad. Sebastian knew that other parents didn't turn up to school, hardly able to walk in a straight line. He didn't know what it felt like to go through a day without his mum crying for some odd reason, or having a shouting fit at a television program. It scared him, and he hated the fact that he couldn't do anything, even at such a young age. This is where Seb began to fade back, and make himself unseen, unknown. It was just easier to live, to survive, that way.
The boy lived in this kind of environment for a further two years. He didn't dare, or bother, ask about his father. He never questioned why she drank, or smoke, or did the odd things she did. Many would have found it disturbing, but this information never leaked from their fourth story apartment in the shabby streets of London. Lanna did love Sebastian, but not enough to be able to show him. Hey, someone had taken advantage of her, and landed her with a child she didn't want. Who wouldn't be affected in some way or another? However at the age of seven, Seb had a short period when he broke out of his shell, literally. He was disruptive in class, he shouted things at other children, he broke down and cried from time to time. This lead to one of the kinder teachers at his school walking him home one afternoon, when Sebastian's mother hadn't turned up. She had taken him to his very apartment, and when Lanna answered the door, the teacher because very suspicious of her state, and that of the apartment. This lead to social services turning up and inspecting their case. To cut it long short
The Seven-year-old wasn't given the option of staying with his Father, for no one was able to provide that information. However, he did have the chance to either live with his Grandparents, or Aunt. Sebastian chose his Grandparents, who weren't even that old. They cared for him over the next two years, providing a stable, and excellent home for the boy. He started at a new school, and was basically given a fresh start. However, Seb did require a fair amount of counseling during his first year with his Grandparents, as there were allot of changes he had to adapt to. The boy saw his mother every second weekend. She would either take him out for the day, or stay at her parents House over a Saturday night to spend two days with him. Although this was a better arrangement for them all, that didn't mean that Lanna made any reach changes. She was still selfish, had her addictions, and was both physically and mentally unfit to care for her son. Sebastian knew it was better this way, for she didn't have to deal with him, and Lanna, well, she didn't care much.
By the time he was nine, the boy hardly saw his mother at all. She had been evicted from her apartment in the shabby streets of London, and his grandparents weren't about to move from their stable, nice house in the slightly classier side of London. Lanna didn't make too much of a fuss, she just made an effort to visit him once every school holidays. There was no need for commitment, he had learned to not depend or need her, and she still regretted ever having him. However, in this same year, Seb's grandfather was involved in a care accident, leaving him unable to walk much. The boy's grandmother had to care for her husband, and so Sebastian was arranged to live with his Aunt and Uncle. By now, he had met, and already stayed with his mother's brother allot, and liked their family too. So, again, the boy was shifted households, however, this time he moved a greater distance away from his Grandparents, and thankfully enough, his mother.
Sebastian lived with his Aunt Grace and Uncle Russel until he was eleven. They were the wealthiest of the family, Russel being a Healer, and Grace being a teacher. They had two kids as well, one of them his age, the other younger. Maria was the eldest of the his Aunt and Uncle's children, she was Seb's age. Taj was four years younger than Maria and himself though, but that was okay. All children got along really well, despite the fact that their new family member wasn't quite in the life-plan. The boy, and his new family adapted quite well to this new, higher up life. At the age of eleven, both Sebastian and Maria received a letter informing them that they had been accepted into Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Maria's parents had enough to send both children to the school, and so they did.
Growing up at Hogwarts was amazing. Although Sebastian and Maria were both very different in some ways, they were alike in others. She was a proud Lion, and he, a humble Badger. Throughout their years there, the two remained great friends, even if they were family. Maria was always there to comfort Seb when he was down, which wasn't too often, for he was just a quiet person these days, and the boy was always there for her when she needed him. The youth never got into many fights, for he was a very mellow and easy-going guy, and no one really took much notice to him. Sebastian had a few good friends, and it remained that way. He never got depressed about his past, for the boy had simply learned to accept that it was the way things were, and Lanna and himself were better off without each other. By this time, Seb had no contact with her whatsoever, all but the occasion phone call. She didn't know he went to Hogwarts, and he wasn't about to tell her. his grandparents were aware of this, and they took over Seb's funding after his first year.
The youth developed into a very mature, sensible and well-manner kid. However at the end of his fifth year, there was one thing that made this personality pattern change. Maria had confided in him that some guy wouldn't stop bugging her, and was calling her an array of foul names because she wouldn't date him. Sebastian was aware that this kinda of behavior was disrespectful, especially to wards his cousin, and set out to stand up for her. He wasn't a violent person, and intended to use words instead. Now, the youth didn't threaten the bad guy, but he told him to back off. Unfortunately, the boy threw a punch, and some anger that had been dormant in Seb was unleashed, and he fought back. Nothing too severe, but it was enough to make this guy's friend pester and rough up the Hufflepuff boy any chance they got. One slip up had made him gone from unseen to the wanted. So he arranged with his grandparents to attend Durmstrang School of Magic for his senior years, which was a good change.
During his Sixth and Seventh year at this new school, Sebastian became more confident and bubbly. He was still very intelligent and intellectual, but he put off the study now and then. Seb made lots of new friends and became one of those guys who was a bit quiet, bu when he did speak out, was extremely funny. This was due to his light-hearted nature, and also the contribution allot of different text types had made on him. Sebastian even had a few girlfriends through these years, which was a great improvement. Really, he was a happy guy, and didn't bother to dwell on the bad things in his past. And since the age of ten, right through until his dying years of school, Seb had always had one main passion. Music, lyrics, instruments. He played the acoustic guitar, drum kit, bass guitar, piano, and was an superb singer. Many people admired his musical talents when he did allow them to see, which gave Seb a confident burst that he needed.
As soon as the youth left Durmstrang, getting excellent marks in all of his NEWT subjects but one, he knew exactly what he wanted to do. Be a Musician, that is. Sebastian's Aunt and Uncle moved to the center of London, for it was easier for Maria to get to her work as a apprentice Healer, and for his Uncle Ross to continue to work. His Aunt Grace didn't mind the move, for there were a range of school around for her to teach in, and Taj had been at Hogwarts for two years now. His whole family (besides his actually parents, that is, whom he had no contact with at all) including his grandparents supported the youth in this, as they were aware at just how much potential he had to make it big. Seb applied for a job at the Leak Cauldron, meanwhile his band (which had been together since they were all 16) began to land gigs at pubs and such. From here on, it was time to sale.
[ Pros and Cons : ]
Pros:
Intelligent
Sebastian has always been, and will always be regarded as an intelligent person. It was always one of his interests to go and read, about anything, really. Classic novels, Poetry, Factual Books, Documentaries, Media work, and anything else that he could find in his school Library. The youth had a very broad mind when it comes to facts, philosophies and over-all knowledge. He is also ambitious to travel to over seas when he has enough money to do so, in order to experience some of the different cultures out there.
Kind
The Fraser boy was raised on the simple fact of being polite and kind to others. Of course, this was naturally in his personality. Seb never found the need to want to be harsh, insulting or mean to other people when growing up. In his eyes, the world went around smoother when you were nicer to people. When meeting new people, the youth is always polite, kinda and gentle with them.
Trustworthy
As one begins to know and become closer to Sebastian, one would realize that though he isn't the bubbly and biggest of personalities, he is extremely trustworthy. He is that type of guy who is always there for his friends to spill their guts that are filled with worry or issues, and keep them lock away inside. He wouldn't dare to betray anyone's trust once it is put in him. As as he mind is well developed, Seb is known to have given out some rather good advice in trying situations.
Cons:
Shy
Though eventually he comes of of his shell, Sebastian is rather shy at first, and in weird or uncomfortable situations. This is mainly due to both his past, and his general personality. To the youth, being in the background was much easier than making a splash. He doesn't draw too much attention to himself, which some people find weak and frustrating. Although he is becoming more confident on a social level, it is still a task he is having to concur.
Serious
Although Seb is very kind, patient and understanding, he can takes people's comment way too seriously. It only happens very rarely, though when an argument or fight occurs and the boy is involved, every harsh word is taken to heart. Generally Sebastian isn't a self conscious (nor vain) person, but if someone calls him a 'jerk' or a 'loser' he can believe them to be true. This triggers him to push himself into the background and try and so unnoticed, unseen. Really, he can be a sensitive person when the mood occurs.
Personal
Finally, though he is confided in regularly, Sebastian Fraser is extremely closed about his past to stranger, or new friends. He only tells certain snippets of information to those who he entirely trusts, for reasons out of fear and judgment. Growing up for Seb wasn't deathly hard, but it certainly wasn't the smoothest of trips. He choses who he confines in, and what he tells them, as the youth finds it easier when people know less about it. It makes him feel less threatened or vulnerable than he already is.

[Writing/Role Playing Example:]
"Welcome, everyone, to this years' battle o' the bands!" The announcer was corny, and his cheesy smile only made the large crowd of youth internally cringe. Blank expressions stared up at the man as he rubbed his hands together, pacing the stage. "This is the final round between our two best bands. It's been a bubbly and brilliant night, so this should be a treat!" Sebastian almost scoffed. This guy didn't care about the music, or the reason why so many teenagers today appreciated it. He was only here to get paid. The least this place could do was hire someone under the age of 40 to host this gig. But... who was he to complain? Just because the guy didn't know a bass from an acoustic didn't mean he was a bad person. Just musically oblivious. "Lets put our hands together for Without a cause!" Seb watched as he backed off the stage, his shoe getting caught up in the various wires trailing around the place.
The band went onto the stage, their vocalist announcing a song by The Classic Crime. Sebastian and his band, consisting of Daniel their drum kit player, Liam on lead guitar, Andy on bass, and Juliet on keyboard and occasional vocals, and Seb himself on backup guitar and vocals, all watched in anticipation as 'Without a Cause' played. Dan leaned across to him, and mumbled "Right, abnormally loud without a cause." which caused Seb to smirk a little before shaking his head. There was no need to tease the other band, for they were good, however the youth knew that his band had the potential to be better. Once they had finished their song, the lanky man stumbled back upon stage, accompanying the loud applause given by the audience. He rammbled on about driving home safely, and all that stuff they had to do after an over-18's gig before finally being ushered into announcing their final band. Sebastian's band, that was.
"Everyone, a warm welcome for Cupid's Arrow! Come one, clap those hands 'till their hot!" the announced encouraged, and as Seb and his band members stepped out onto the stage, the audience erupted into a series of whistles and claps, though not because the man had told them to do so. Seb and his mates set up their instruments, as the lead singer did a quick mic check with the sound-man. Finally, after strumming up his guitar, Sebastian's British voice echoed throughout the venue as he spoke. "This is a song by The Hush Sound, it's called 'Hourglass. Hope you dig it." he said with a devilish grin. This was really the only place the youth was totally and utterly confident in himself. Really, it was just his best mates and the music. What more would he want? The boy strummed his bright blue eclectic guitar, checking it's tone, before tapping his foot and saying "One, Two, Three, Four!" And thats where it begun.
"As we sift through the hour glass
We realize that an hours passed
And not a person here is innocent
We're both as guilty as a sin
It must have rained all through the night
The tires just couldn't grip right
So I took another long sip
And wiped away my chapped lips
This is how it ends
We believe every lie and say we'll be friends
How long will it last
Before we scratch all the scripts and we rework the cast
As the hour met the minute hand
We kept racing through this foreign land
With no direction or a telephone
Together we were all alone
That's when the puzzle was finally pieced
We compromised until our bodies seized
To some we seem like colder creatures well
We were warm until we went to hell
This is how it ends
We believe every lie and say we'll be friends
How long will it last
Before we scratch all the scripts and we rework the cast
Cast the first stone
Lets pretend that we don't have a
Past the worst one
Forbid forget forget that you exist
Cast the first stone
Lets pretend that we don't have a
Past the worst one!"
With the ending note, there was a light pause as the hum of the guitar faded. As soon as Seb stepped back from the mic, the whole crowd roared and bellowed with pleasure. Guys whistled, girls screamed, everyone thumped their hands together, as those who had been dancing stopped to cool their foreheads. Sebastian looked around and grinned at his band mates. The man came back on stage, grinning his fake smile, clapping along. Without a Cause followed him, their faces slightly stunned as they surveyed Seb and his band. "We have tallied up all your votes,a nd the judges have made their decisions!" he said, as both bands grouped of opposite sides of him, those with guitars had them still in hand. "And the winner is... Cupid's Arrow!" again, the audience roared and thundered, grins upon every face. Even though they had loss, Without a Cause's members still hugged all of the winner band's members, for there was no shame in losing to them. Sebastian couldn't keep the grin off of his face, knowing that his year was kicking off to a good start.
