Emeric turned his head slightly, looking at some of the art work and portraits that hung on the dungeon hallways. A few of the portraits of ancient looking wizards pointed every so often, either at Emeric or at Tallulah, it varied. He continued to walk on in silence for a few seconds, despite the fact that this was supposed to be an official tour of the place. He smiled, somewhat mysteriously at Tal as he stopped infront of the portrait of Salazar Slytherin himself. Uttering the password, Emeric held the door open for Tal to walk into the common room.
" Your new home, actually. I think you'll find it fitting to your needs. " He said, following her into the Slytherin Common Room. He didn't know if she would be impressed or not, but Emeric called the place home either way. " This would be the Slytherin Common room. Boys dorms are that way, " He motioned with a lazy movement of his hand, " And the girl's dorms are the other direction. " He said, pointing to where the girls dorms were. Emeric slid his hands back into his pockets as he looked back to Tal, exprecting some sort of reaction from her. Knowing her, though, she would probably think the place was disgusting. He smirked slightly as he predicted the girl's reaction. He could be wrong, but he wasn't sure.

They walked along in silence, something that quite frankly annoyed Tallulah. She kept her cool, walking along with him. The halls were decorated with pictures, most were filled with old men and women, sometimes animals. They weren't quiet with their murmurs about the two students walking by. They then came upon one that made Tallulah smile. Salazar Slytherin, the person who started their house. She watched as Emeric walked up and spoke the password quietly. She did not hear it and made a note to ask him for it later. The picture swung open to show a hallway that led into their common room.
Emeric held the door for her, letting Tal go in first. She walked in, her eyes scanning her new home. It had a certain darkness about it. The room reminded her of her own room, but not as nicely adorned as hers. A small smirk appeared on her blood red lips as she took a few more steps in. "I guess it's ok. I mean, it's not my manor as you know, but it will do. I guess." She lay her jacket down on a couch, reaching into the pocket to retrieve her wand.
Turning back to Emeric she smirk didn't falter. Behind her some third year boys walked by, staring at Tallulah. She could feel their eyes on her back and...well other parts. She glared at them as they walked by, making them speed up. Her eyes went back to her tour guide. "So, are there any undesirables in this house?" She asked, the word undesirables was dripped with disdain as is fell from her lips.

Just walking into the common room made Emeric feel a little bit more relaxed about walking around with Tal. She kept him on his guard, as he couldn't exactly predict her as he felt he could with other girls. She was typical for him, but her thoughts were not so easily predictable. He allowed Tal to soak in her surroundings, giving a few of his housemates a small nod if he recognized them.
' I mean, it's not my manor as you know. ' Emeric nodded, his lips forming a sneer at the girl. Indeed, hew knew it was certainly not a manor, hers or anyones, but it was nice enough. " It will do. You'll grow to like it, trust me. " He said with another nod as he crossed his arms over his chest. " By the way, in case you try to bring one of your spineless victims to your room, guys can't go in the girls dorms. Girls can go in the guys', but no the other way around. " He was telling her strictly for informational purposes, of course.
" Undesirables, now Tallulah, whatever do you mean? " Emeric asked innocently, playing stupid for the moment. Even in the common room of Salazar Slytherin, it could be hazardous to talk about such things out in the open as she was suggesting. Unless, of course, she was referring to money.

Her smirk faltered as he sneered at her. She locked eyes with him, her smirk still not fully back. She took a few steps closer to him, closing the distance between them. She could feel something whether it be electricity or something else she did not know. Her eyes narrowed, as she spoke of her 'spineless victims'. She did agree that they were spineless if they fell for every time. She regained her smile after a few seconds.
"Naughty boys aren't allowed? Too bad. I brought some very nice outfits that some boys would just die to see me in." She let her vanity come out a little, seeing how he would react to it. He would most likely have some witty remark for her to pout about. "I also know that I can't bring someone of another house in to the common room so I guess I must pick from the boys in this house."
She sneered again as he played stupid. She hated when people played stupid. She took another step forward. Now she was very close to Emeric. He towered over her petite form. She then really took notice to his body, how fit he was. His arms were very nice, she had the strange urge to touch them. Shaking her head she kept her stance close to him "Oh Emeric, love, you know exactly who I'm talking about." She now took another step, walking by his side. As she passed she went on her tippy-toes, whispering in a very seductive voice "Blood." She knew he had to get it from that.

Had Emeric Troy just rendered Tallulah Skeffington silent? He thought so. If there was anything she could do to widen his smirk, it was remain silent after a comment like that.
Her silence didn't last long, though, as he knew it wouldn't. It was Tal, after all. She always had something to say about something or other, snarky and, as he listened to what she said next, apparently a bit vain as well. He looked at Tal, once again not finding the need to hide the fact that he was looking her over. Why bother? She was used to it. And coming from Emeric, it was a compliment of sorts. Whether or not he was thinking about the said ' very nice outfits ' will remain private for Emeric, but he didn't obejct to the idea exactly.
He turned his head, catching the girl's gaze again. " Slim pickings. " He said with a small smile. What was behind the smile, he couldn't say for sure despite the fact that it was his own. He watched as she took another step closer to him and whispered into his ear. Of course she was talking about blood status. He felt himself stupid for even thinking it possible that she was talking about money. " Tal, you should know by that there are undesirables everywhere these days. " His tone was quiet, as hers had been, but also held a slight anger in it as well.

She smiled as he said 'Slim Pickings'. That just made it easier for her to find someone. She walked away from Emeric, going over to the fireplace. It gave off a warm glow that danced upon her face. She stared intently into the fire, feeling the comforting warmth fall upon her. She didn't turn back to face him. "I've only heard of two families that have sons who go here that I'd even think of pursuing something with." She then turned around to face him, an eyebrow raised. She wouldn't say more about it.
Her eyes lingered on the boy. She knew he liked it, he liked being looked at in the way she stared at him. She never looked at boys in this way. She was giving him a look of approval, of attraction. Her usual look was one of lust or agreenace. They were someone she could deal with, not be with. Standing near the fire made her body heat up. She unbuttoned her sweater, showing her shirt which showed off her lithe upper body well. Her eyes went back to the fire not looking as she spoke again. "I had guessed as much. We're never lucky enough to be alone."

Emeric finally averted his eyes from Tallulah and quickly glanced around the common room. Aside from the few younger students he had nodded to, there weren't that many people in the commons. Tal wouldn't be able to see the Slytherin Common Room as Emeric usually saw it, bustling with life. It could be good and bad, and he knew Tal was bound to see it like that eventually. Whether or not she liked it, that was her business.
" Two families? " He said curiously, turning and looking back to Tal even as she stared into the fire. Finally, though, she looked back at him, as he knew she eventually would. His hand reached up, flicking his hair out of his eyes as he looked at Tal.
He bit his lip lightly as he noticed the older Slytherin unbutton her sweater. Why was she doing this to him? Surely Tal knew that Emeric lacked a little thing called self control when it came to beautiful girls, and she was just that. He took several steps closer to the girl as she mentioned blood status again, continuing their conversation. " Of course. We can't ever be alone, not in this day and age. " He said, shrugging his shoulders as he stood next to her, also looking in the fire now.

You could hear a pin drop as silence descended between the two of them. The silence wasn't because of anything awkward, it was born of the inability to think of anything to say. Tallulah didn't move from the fire. Her eyes darted to the side, noticing the younger boy walk toward her. No emotion graced her face. She was hiding inside of herself, not sure where her place was.
Without looking at Emeric she nodded, her face still blank. She turned slightly, showing him her profile. "Yes, two." Her lower lip trembled as if she was about to say something to him. "Both sons are pure-blooded gentlemen who my parents could see me with."
Her took a few more steps closer to her. Her body became rigid as he closed the space between them. It was as if she didn't, for once, know what to do with herself. "If only we could go back to a day where we were....safe." She didn't mean safe in the normal way. The more muggle borns and half-bloods there were the more chance muggles would find out. And Tallulah didn't want that to happen.
She finally turned to face the boy, the distance between them closer then she expected. Tal was taken back. The fire played with his features harmoniously. Her mouth twitched lightly. She was suppressing a smile. She didn't want him to see it.

Emeric continued to look at the fire until he couldn't help it and glanced over to Tal, doing his best not to look her up and down once again. His eyes were trained on her face as she turned just slightly and began to speak again. He sneered as she mentioned that both sons of the two families were pure-blooded. As if Tal would go, or be allowed to go for, anything else. He turned so he was facing Tal directly now.
" And since when have you ever been so keen to listen to your parents? " His brow raised slightly as he looked at Tal. She wasn't much for following rules, especially set up by her mother and father.
Emeric noticed that as he stepped closer to Tal, for conversation sake of course, that she looked as if she didn't know quite what to do. He smirked ever so slightly. " That's not going to happen, Tal. Face the facts, we're in too far over our heads. " He was sure that Tal would know what he meant by ' us. ' It wasn't that hard to figure out. Emeric waited until Tal had turned to face him now, letting his smirk wash away into a look of contemplation. Finally, though, he took a few steps away from the older Slytherin, letting space fall between the two.

She smiled, a true smile, when he said she never followed her parents rules. She couldn't help but smile. It was true, she was horrid at listening to her parents. "Well, for all of my not listening there are just some things that I must do to survive." She knew that sounded quite desperate and weird, but this wasn't a world of normalcy. She also knew he would most likely know where she was coming from.
"That's not going to happen, Tal. Face the facts, we're in too far over our heads." She swallowed, looking away from him. He reminded her so much of her father in someways. She almost couldn't stand it. She felt as if she was wearing a corset and it was being tightened every time she spoke. "I know." Her voice was quite, almost non-existant.
Emeric stepped away from Tallulah, enlarging the area between them. She felt less anxious when he was farther away. She couldn't get herself to look at him directly, he made her feel...funny. Something she'd never felt before. With a shake of her head she glanced over to one of the couches in the room, ridding her mind of that feeling.

' Well, for all of my not listening there are just some things that I must do to survive. ' To survive. He nodded his head slowly, knowing very well what she meant. There were things they both had to do, mostly having to do with their family's. It was just the way things were, for better or for worse as he liked to think. Emeric could relate to having to do things to survive, even if he didn't want to. Sometimes, there wasn't much of a choice in it, though.
His eyes caught sight of the girl's smile. A real, genuine smile. He was almost shocked to see it. Almost.
Emeric hung his head slightly, looking at the ground for a few seconds before looking back up and meeting Tal's gaze. " Survival is everything. " He said with half a smile forming on his features. ' I know. ' He nodded, knowing full well that she understood. She had to, that was just how it was. " Care to continue the tour? " He questioned, turning towards Tal.

She stood there for a second, not wanting to move. Her body felt like cement. Tallulah forced herself to turn to Emeric and nod, agreeing that she should continue the tour. She walked over to the couch and picked up her sweater and her jacket, carrying them in her arms. Instinctively she pulled out her mirror to check her makeup, but this time she looked in the mirror to see were Emeric was looking.
How was affecting her so? If he were any other boy she'd have them tied around her finger, doing whatever she wanted. He was trying to do the same thing to her, bring her under his spell. For a moment she thought of just letting him win so he would stop tormenting her. She dismissed the thought without showing it.
Closing her mirror she put it back into her jacket pocket and started toward the door. Every step she was regaining her composure. She'd feel better when she was nearer the door. Without looking back she said, "Where to next?" Not that she really care, or he'd tell her. Little things like this kept him on top. Where he wanted to be.

Emeric shied away from Tal's gaze for a few seconds, for whatever reasons he wasn't sure of. He looked around his common room, to a blanket thrown over a chair, to a few whispering first years in the corner, anywhere but Tal, just for a moment. His eyes raised back to meet hers after another few seconds though of a rather safe silence. Silence could say things, you could say a thousand things in one moment of silence. He wasn't sure what he was trying to say.
' Where to next? '
Emeric shrugged his shoulders as he turned and exited the common room, standing and waiting outside in the dungeon corridor for Tallulah to exit as well. " I was thinking, just go up. Show you where some of the classrooms are. " He was, for once, not being snarky, not being sarcastic, and was actually trying to help her. Getting lost wasn't a fun thing, Emeric could remember being lost when he first arrived at the school four years ago. He had been too proud, even then, to ask for help. It resulted in him being late to a class by ten minutes and getting points taken away from Slytherin house.

She was out of the common room. Finally. She had to admit, the common room was very nice. As nice as her own living room in her manor. But she knew that now until she graduated that room would always make her feel...awkward because of how things went down with Emeric. It wasn't bad what happened, only different. She almost liked the feeling that he gave her. She'd never felt it before. With her friend Jean it was a brotherly affection. Emeric was a whole Quidditch field away.
She pulled her sweater back on as they started to walk toward the stairs. The coldness of the dungeons wasn't something she was used to. At Beauxbaton the school was always a nice toasty warm in the winter and cool in the summer. Just another thing she wasn't used to.
" I was thinking, just go up. Show you where some of the classrooms are. "
Her eyes glanced towards him, surprised. He sounded....nice. In all the years she'd known Emeric he never once sounded this nice. It brought a small smile to her face. He sounded quite lovely when he was nice. It sparked a little ember within her. She hoped to hear him speak to her like this again.
"That'd be very splendid. I'd hate to get lost. It would be embarrassing." She giggled lightly, her small outburst free of malice. "I've heard this school is very confusing. I was quite worried about what would happen to me if I got lost."

Emeric, once again, purposefully looked away from Tal. He looked at her enough as it was, and looking upon stunning beauty constantly made one tired. His eyes scanned the dungeon, and finally the entrance hall as they came upon it.
There were still a few other people milling about in the entrance hall, and Emeric pushed through several crowds as he walked with Tal, finally giving her a sideways glance as they started up the stairs. " It is rather big, but I doubt you could get too, too lost. I know it might hurt, but if you do get lost, you can always just ask someone for help. " His tone was teasing as he said this, his momentary niceness was still there, although with something else as well. He couldn't let these momentary lapses of character happen too often, he had a reputation to uphold, as did Tal. He didn't want to give her the upperhand, even as he relaxed around her.
They were halfway up the stairs to the first floor when he pointed to a specific stair. " Watch that one, it likes to dissapear. " He hadn't meant to be nice again... It just happened.
