They ascended the stairway which lead back to the Great Hall. The amount of people in the hall had doubled since they went downstairs to see the common room. She and Emeric had to push their way through the crowds. She was sure she stepped on a few first years, but she didn't care. All she wanted to do was keep up with Emeric.
She heard him make a comment about her asking for help. Her smile widened, a laugh quietly came from her. She was amazed at the sound of her voice. It was so care free, so light. If she saw her face she'd be even more amazed. Her smile was full on kindness and happiness. "Maybe. But only if I'm really lost. You know how hard it is for me to ask for directions!"
As they walked up the stairs Emeric pointed out a stair that had a tendency to disappeared. She looked down, a momentary look of worry flashes across her perfect face. She looked up to Emeric, her smile slowly coming back. "This school is insane." She liked it here, more the Beauxbaton.

Emeric turned his head, glancing every which way at the students they passed by on the stairs, his eyes landing back on Tal every so often. Damn those beautiful girls.. They affected him in a way he wasn't accustomed to, but he did his absolute best not to show Tal that she had any affect on him at all.
He played along all the while, though. He wasn't opposed to having a good time. ' You know how hard it is for me to ask for directions! ' Em nodded his head, allowing for a soft low chuckle to escape him. " Of course... You don't much like to ask for help in general, d'you? " He asked, nudging her lightly with his elbow. He knew that Tal was like him in many ways, she had a lot of pride to carry around with her, and that affected her asking other people for help. She was stubborn as well.
" Insane? A bit. To your left, " He pointed down the hall as they reached the first floor landing that left to other corridors. " Is the infirmary. They're good for ailments, sickness, accidents, whatever. " And over there, " He nodded to one of the doors in the hallway. " Is the history of magic classroom. Dreadfully boring topic on some days, interesting on others. The teacher's a bit of a loon, but respectable enough. "

She looked away, hoping she didn't look like a little fan girl when he was around her. She gained some form of composure and glanced over to him, her hair falling across her face. Her eyes lingered for a second on Emeric, her cheeks flushing ever so slightly. When she noticed this she turned away, looking forward.
She nodded slightly as he spoke again. He knew her too well. He could read her in a second, this frightened her dearly. She didn't even have a hold on the boy and he was winning. She did nothing to show her revelation. She just kept on walking up the stairs with him.
"No, I don't. I hate to feel needy. My mother is needy. I am not." The words 'my mother' were lightly sprinkled with acid. She didn't care who heard it. She rather disliked her mother. Her mother was everything she never wanted to be in her life. No one knew how she felt about her mother. She always kept a sweet face when in the company of family friends.
As they walked along he pointed out places of need or interest to Tallulah. She tried to keep up as much as possible but she started to think that Emeric giving her a tour was not the best idea. She was too distracted ti really take in what he was showing her.

Just at the mention of family at all Emeric felt like he was being cowered over by his dad, famous for both his glare and lectures that he gave his son. Instead of sulking in front of Tal, though, he put on a playful smirk and said, " Well, my mother is a hypocrite. I don't see much harm in being needy. " He wasn't sure if he was teasing or not, or even whether or not he should be teasing her about such a subject as her family. He would have to see.
Tal showed mild interest in the places he mentioned, or at least he thought she did. It was hard to tell when she didn't mention anything about the places he had just pointed out to her, but really it was alright by him. He started walking up the stairs again, headed for the next floor up. This would be what Emeric called a brief tour. Just showing what went where, a general idea of the school. Tal would just have to experience it to know what it was really like.

They started walking up another set of stairs. When they got to about midway up the stairs they started to change direction. The sudden movement threw Tallulah off course and into Emeric. She held onto him, trying to steady herself. After she got over the whole staircase moving thing she looked up at Emeric. She was surprised that the staircase moved, but more surprised at the way she clung to Emeric.
Once the staircase moved back into place she held onto Emeric for a second, then she let go and moved away quickly. The feeling she got from holding onto him was exhilerating. He smelled amazing also, something that inwardly made Tallulah grin. As she tried to compose herself again she walked up the steps quickly, distancing herself.
"So...what is on this floor?" That was the only thing she could get out. She was still a bit flustered from what had just happened.

By now, though, Emeric was used to the stairs moving and only needed to hold on lightly to the railing to steady himself. After four years, he had grown accustomed to the way things moved around the school, doors, suits of armor, people. Even the stair cases. He was prepared for the move, but by the way Tal clutched onto him when there was a jolt of movement, she hadn't been as ready for it.
His hand reached up to her arm, steadying her as well. " Don't fall. " He muttered to her, still not letting his smirk fall from his features. His eyes were trained on hers for a second or two until the stairs finally ceased moving and she stepped away. His brow furrowed slightly, confused and torn. He shrugged the feeling off as he walked up the steps, trailing behind her a bit. " This floor is home to the currently not in session Defense classroom as well as the library. It might be useful. " He said with a shrug as they continued on, walking by the library. He spotted a few people he knew from inside.

As they walked on the landing Tallulah kept as much distance as possible from Emeric so there was no way that anything else could happen. This, he was affecting her too much. Her feelings were getting clouded by thoughts that she knew were only going to hurt her later.
Tal peeked into the library, her eyes scanning the shelves. Tallulah loved to read and by the looks of the library she'd be very happy with the selection. As she followed Emeric she pulled her sweater around herself tightly, not out of cold but out of something else.
When he spoke about there not being Defence Against the Dark Art's classes anymore she bit her lip, confused. "They stopped teaching it? But...Why?" She didn't look over at Emeric. She stared ahead, looking down the hallway. The fact that DADA classes weren't in session anymore seemed strange to her. Wasn't that an important class? At Beauxbaton the class was a top priority for all students to take.
Th end of the hallway was very near. As they walked closer Tal noticed that there were two staircases on either side of the hallway. She deduced that they both must go to the next floor, but this was Hogwarts and anything was possible.

Emeric noticed a couple of older Slytherins gathered around one of the various tables in the library. He was curious about what they were doing, but not curious enough to bother stopping to ask. Really, it wasn't that important of a topic to him.
Why was a good question. In all honesty Emeric didn't know that well, but he did his best to mention the hazy details that he did know. " There was ministry intereference, Raynor fought back, landed herself in Azkaban, tried to get the class back, and... didn't manage to. Now Charms dabbles into a bit of Defense, but not enough. " He said with a dissaproving shake of his head. It was an important subject, and one that interested Emeric greatly.
As they reached the two stair cases, Emeric turned to the left one, ascending the stairs with Tal. He expected to end up at the third floor, but found himself to be located at the fifth. He was able to tell because it was the same floor that the Charms classroom was located on.

Tallulah scoffed when Emeric explained the reason for the non-existent DADA classes. She wasn't scoffing at him but at the reason that they weren't being taught. She finally let her eyes peek over at him. "The Ministry is probably paranoid that we'll use the dark magic against them." She rolled her eyes, knowing nothing like this would happen anytime soon. She rather liked DADA classes. Always took a keen intrest in the hex classes.
Also the fact that their Headmistress went to Azkaban peaked her intrest also. With a sly smile she looked over at him again. "Azkaban? She really went there?" This was almost impossible to her. Well, not the fact that she went to Azkaban, but the fact that she was alowed to preside over the school after being let out.
Tal looked over to her housemate as he started up the left staircase, following in suit. Now that a few minutes passed after the staircase she felt a bit more relaxed. She kept up with him, not letting herself fall behind. As she finally got the the landing she looked down the hall, smiling. "What wonderful classrooms are on this floor?"

Emeric couldn't help but return the girl's scoffing with a small sneer at her, not really her, but what she was saying. ' The Ministry is probably paranoid that we'll use the dark magic against them. ' He shook his head, he didn't know why the Ministry would do something stupid like that. They were stupid in general, but as the workers would say ' they were just doing their jobs. '
" I doubt anyone in the whole of Hogwarts knows anything about dark magic. " He said, his tone was almost wistful, his natural curiousity taking over him for a moment. He shook his head, both at his comment and himself as Tal smiled slyly at him. " I'm pretty sure. " He too, had been shocked when he heard about it. What kind of school board let a mad woman run a school of young students? He couldn't answer that rightfully, so he moved on to Tal's next question.
" Ah, that would be the... charms room. Snow's the professor. He's alright. " He said with a shrug. Emeric didn't have anything against Snow, but he didn't favor the man either. He was indifferent to him.

She didn't see Emeric sneer at her, though she could feel he had something to say about the matter of their DADA classes. She hated to say this but when she got back to the common rood she'd write her father so he could find something out for her.
Her eyebrows were raised as she thought more about their headmistress and her being sent away to Azkaban. It amazed her that her headmistress came back with her mind in one piece. Tal had known many people who went to Azkaban and when they came back they weren't the same. They were never the same. Her father had lucked out, he just denied everything when it came down to him.
"Charms eh? Always loved that class. I am a pro at cheering charms." She let herself smile a little in a boastful manner. Not that she didn't do this already, just this time it was more in jest then making herself seem better.

Emeric nodded, his mind still on Tamis Raynor. She was completely and utterly crazy, but she was also amazing. How many other people could have gone to Azkaban and returned, still alive and healthy? She had been reinstated back to Headmistress soon after, a strange thing to Emeric. Surely if you locked someone up in Azkaban you would be implying that you thought them unfit for normal living, especially teaching young minds. All of these things made him further more curious about her. " What a woman... " He though with a soft shake of his head as they started to approach another flight of stairs.
" Cheering charms, eh? I could use a bit of cheering. " He said in a jesting voice. He was kidding around for the most part, and wasn't too keen on having Tallulah point her wand at him and perform a spell. Knowing her, she would probably make it go bad on purpose to make him suffer. He hoped not, though. Em slowly started to make his way up the stairs, Tal by his side still.

She smirked sweetly, this one being very scarier then a normal smirk. If what she heard about her headmistress was true then this woman must be as solid as a stone wall. Most people cracked after a week in Azkaban. Raynor must have some nerves of steel. "What a woman indeed," Tal said, her voice slightly sing-songish.
"Well, if you're ever in need of one I'm your girl. Promise I won't screw it up. Charms is actually my best class. Well, next to Dark Arts." She wasn't boasting, just stating a fact. For all she knew he surpassed her in both classes. "But you're saying the teacher is good? That makes me happy." She grinned, thinking about her upcoming classes. It was quite exciting to be taking classes and learning again.
Tal followed Emeric up another flight of stairs. Her legs were getting a little tired, but she showed no sign of fatigue. She was walking next to Emeric, her eyes cast on to the ground. The Slytherin's hair fell into her face in a chocolate wave. With her free hand she pushed the hair out of her face. They finally made it to the landing. With a sigh of slight exhaustion she looked over to Emeric, then to the rest of the hall.

Emeric only nodded his head at Tal's remakr of ' what a woman indeed. ' There were some people who hated the head mistress of Hogwarts, for reasons he wasn't too sure of. But he also knew there were some people who, like him, admired the woman as well. She was a good leader from what he could tell, and one of the youngest headmasters Hogwarts had ever had. It was enough to make him respect her, despite that fact that others didn't.
" Charms is your best? Potions and defense is usually mine. Charms is a common favorite around here, I think. Either you get it, or you don't. But yes, the teacher's decent. Dunno if you'll like him, but he isn't too bad. Get's to the point, really. " He said as the walked to the next flight of stairs. Not so shockingly, it led them to the fourth floor where Emeric pointed to the Transfiguaration classroom. " Brady teaches Transfig. Former Auror, went a bit loony so I've heard. Attacked some bloke and got removed from the Ministry. Works 'ere now. " He said with a small smile as he told Brady's story, or what he knew of it. " Good teacher, though. "

She smiled lightly. It was nice to hear about something he liked. Emeric was never one to give up much, even if you've known each other for years. She glanced over at him, her eyes playful. "Potions? Yes, you look like someone who's good at potions. I was fair at the class." Her voice was cool, somewhat controlled. All she needed to do was keep walking, keep up.
She nodded along again as she relayed the story of the Transfiguration Professor. The teacher here were much more intresting then the ones at Beauxbation, by far. "Really? He was an Auror?" Even though she agreed with most of the dark wizards, the job of a Auror always pleased her emmencely. "It seems that all of the teachers here are quite....intresting."
