[ Physical Character Description: ] Baal is a very tall man, over six feet tall, and broad shouldered. He spends a lot of time working out, so he's rather muscular. His appearance often intimidates people at first, before they get to know him as a person.
His hair is brownish-blond, and is very short, about 1½ inches long. His eyes are a dark blue and oval shaped, and he has a short boxed beard. His face is square, and he has a prominent jaw, He has a deep, hearty voice, which adds to the overall impression that he is a big brute of a man.

He hates the Deva for what they do, but would never fight them. He gives the deuling lessons, however, because he thinks everyone deserves the choice of whether or not to fight, and the chance to defend themselves from those who would harm them.
Baal is an intellectual. He loves casting spells, but he hates to make potions. He even invents his own spells, which he teaches in his deuling lessons. He exercises quite a bit, but only becauses it is a peaceful and useful way to get out his violent tendencies and work off some testosterone. Also, it allows him to lift the heavier crystal balls without using a levitation spell.
[ History: ] Baal was born to two halfblood parents, and started showing signs of magical ability at a relatively young age. When he got to Hogwarts, he was immediately sorted into Ravenclaw. He was very skilled at casting spells, but was dreadful at potions, and nearly failed twice.
After his O.W.L.s it, was clear that the only subjects he had a hope of pursuing at N.E.W.T. level were Transfiguration and Charms. He was delighted to be able to put all of his energy into his favorite subjects, and it was in his seventh year that he began studying the art of Deuling.
By the time he had graduated from Hogwarts, he had already stockpiling information, and he hoped to continue his work in parallel to his day job, in the hopes of one day being able to start teaching others. However, he found the outside world to be a very harsh, completely unlike the sheltering he'd experienced during the first part of his life, and he forgot about his plans for a long time.
He was an entrepreneurial person, though, and soon noticed how few places sold crystal balls. So he started selling them himself, and made enough money to afford to buy a building in Diagon Alley. He lives upstairs, and sells his wares on the main floor.
After a few years of good business, other people started giving him competition. As business got worse, he started depending more and more pon his Gringott's account. When the second war started, he started offering deuling lessons, and the flow of money from his bank account reversed. He offered, and still offers, one or two people at a time.
[ Pros and Cons : ]
Pros: Intelligent, Excellent with spells, Very cool-headed.
Cons: Bad with Potions, Unable to defend himself, Somewhat impusive.
[Credentials:] Transfiguration = E, Charms = O
[Writing/Role Playing Example:]
Baal studied the kids carefully. He thought that it was quite possible that they could be Deva, and he doubted that they were old enough to learn his spells. He was also sure that absolutely nothing even remotely good could come of those spells when in the hands of these 16-year-olds. He could refuse, but if these were indeed Deva members, he could find himself face-to-face with an Unforgivable. They would force him, either through torture or the Imperius curse, to teach them the spells. On the other hand, if he accepted, he could be giving some very powerful spells to the Deva. Either way, it was a recipe for disaster.
"Accio wands!" he said suddenly. All three wands flew into his hand. "Now, if you'll excuse me, we're closed. You'll find your wand's at Ollivander's. Kindly leave my shop."
