Delilah sat there with a heavy heart. This was her last year, and she wanted to be sure that people at least assumed she was doing her Head Girl duties. She sat upon the floor, as if she wasn't short enough already, and watched as younger students passed her by. It was an odd thing to think, that everyone was either her age, or younger. Delilah sighed and ran her pale hands through her dark hair, slightly distraught. This small, Head Girl, was in a pickle, she was in a battle against herself.
Not really feeling like putting on anything fancy, she simply wore her robes over her pj's, which nobody could see unless she planned on stripping at the moment. Delilah fiddled with her hands after pulling them out of her tangled hair. She totally and completely, was falling for some body. And this was a problem, because her mother would never approve, but maybe her father would...
And that wasn't even all of it, this wasn't the only boy she liked... She looked at her wrist, where the small silver bracelet was, given to her by Cole, a sweet, charming, utterly handsome boy she had only recently met... Then her hands fluttered to her neck, where a beautiful amulet necklace lied, given to her by Jason's grandfather when she went to visit Jason in Seattle. She didn't know what it was about Jason, but something drew her to him, yet with Cole, he was amazing to her, and truly understood her like a friend would.
Delilah sighed yet again, letting go of the trinkets, letting the necklace fall back onto her chest. Wasn't she a bit old to have this kind of drama going on? Did Jason and Cole even know each other? And what was the deal with her anyways... Cole had been genuine and expressed her feelings for her, yet Jason seemed to only want friendship.
As she sat there pondering these thoughts to herself, she wondered if this year was going to be that good at all... Or just another drama filled, friendless, year.

Cole wandered the hall slowly just hoping to pick out somebody he knew. He felt really alone and friendless at the moment. Over the past few days he hadn't really spent any time with his actual friends or even seen them around the grounds for that matter. He had spent most of this alone time thinking. Thinking about a girl. The one girl who actually got him for who he was and the only person he would ever even dare to call his best friend. She seemed to understand him unlike anyone else he had ever met, and needless to say he found her very appealing. He couldn't help but think about her as he walked down the hall alone. He continued on and as he was walking he saw somebody sitting on the floor. It was her, the one who occupied his mind almost constantly.
Cole strode over as quickly as he dared. His stride did have a purpose in it as he walked toward her.He didn't want to seem overly enthusiastic because he tended to be a little overbearing on his own. As he got closer he looked at her and could tell something was up. "You mind if I come sit with you for a bit?" He asked once he was close enough. He paused his walk for a moment to adjust his robes and move his hair out of his face. It seemed that his hair always fell into his face and got in the way.He arrived and waited for her answer. Cole knew that no matter what Delilah said to him he was going to stick around and try to make her feel better.
He stood by Delilah just waiting for her response. He knew that he wasn't about to leave her by herself while something was going on.I just hope she wants me to be here... Cole thought. He really didn't know how he could help or what was going on but he knew he was going to do his best for her. No matter what position he found her and saw her though he could never help but think she was beautiful."Your hair looks nice." Cole said without really thinking twice about it. He generally tended to speak his mind before he thought anything out.

Delilah's eyes looked up only to meet those oh so familiar warm brown ones. Speak of the devil... She thought to herself, as a small smiled crept across her face, "Not at all, please sit." Delilah said, about to scootch over, but then she just remembered she was sitting on the floor, there was probably enough room for Cole, even if he wanted to sprawl out on his belly if that's what he wished to do.
Just seeing this boy made Delilah ten times happier, and perhaps, this could be a sign. Delilah pushed on the back of Cole's knees, trying to play. "Oh please, I havn't done anything with it today." She said, her eyes shining brightly. Maybe she was wrong about this year. She had met so many people, had made so many friends. Maybe, this was going to be the best year yet.

Cole couldn't help but grin as Delilah playfully pushed on the back of his knees. There was nothing he loved more than when she was completely herself when he was around. Thats part of why he loved to be with her. She was real with him and he was real with her. There wasn't a whole lot of people who could actually do that Cole had come to learn over his years in life. He was reminded of where he was when he felt Delilah playfully pushing on his knees still. Cole lowered himself down beside Delilah as close as he dared to go without being in a place that would make them uncomfortable. As he sat he noticed how cold the floor felt through his robes. He let out a small shiver as he sat and then he turned to Delilah.
While sitting next to her he couldn't help but be excited. He loved to sit next to her and take in everything she had to say. Cole loved watching her every movement and every breath. He was captivated by her whether he wanted to admit it or not.She is so amazing... Cole thought. He turned to her with a huge smile and looked her over. He saw that she was smiling and didn't look nearly as down as she had when he approached.
Cole was almost scared to ask but he knew it would be better if he did. "Is everything alright?" He asked. He knew that chances were she would turn out to be fine but he wanted to be there for her if she needed someone. He waited for her to respond. Cole wanted to be her friend and he intended to be the best friend he could be. She was his best friend and he just hoped she knew that. Delilah held a spot in his heart that nobody else ever had. She actually cared about what went on with him and listened when he needed it. He was so thankful that she did that he was going to do his best to do the same for her.

Jason was ready to kick himself for over sleeping, no morning work out and he hated himself for it. He threw on his robes an yawned as he walked out of the Ravenclaw house and into the hallway. His last year at Hogwarts, It didn't really hit him till the sorting feast. He yawned again as he made his way to the great hall. Hopefully he wasn't too late for breakfast. Jason himself was not feeling all there as well. Seeing Delilah was another boy really tore him up inside. But what could Jason do, he thought about confronting the other kid but what good would that do, none really. He thought about letting it go but something in Jason told him that wasn't the way to go either. For the first time in Jason's life he did not know what to do, Delilah had an affect on Jason that no other person had on him . Jason rounded the corner and walked down the stairs when he reached the bottom of the stairs he spotted Delilah and the kid she was with on the train. O great he thought. He thought about ignoring it and continuing to the great hall but something told him he had already been spotted...

Delilah enjoyed the fact that Cole was loving the attention she was giving him. She was usually pretty playful and a touchy person, but with Cole, it meant something just a tad more than when she played with any body else. Unable to keep her eyes off of him, she watched carefully as he gingerly placed himself on the cold hard floor, which Delilah seemed unaware of. Having often sat upon the floor before, she rather enjoyed it's coolness. Perhaps that had something to do with having the Slytherin Common Room underneath the school. It was colder there. She looked at him with concern though, "Did you want to sit somewhere else? If you're chilly I don't mind." She said, smiling warmly up at him. Seemed like she was always looking up into those brown eyes of his...
Delilah nodded, yes she trusted him, but she wasn't about to share information so personal just yet with the boy. "I'm alright, just come conflicts of... interest..." She said, forcing a smile for him, hoping that he wouldn't be able to tell what really layed on her heart. "I'm just glad you're here." She added, placing a gently hand on his knee to give it a small squeeze before placing her hand back in her lap. "Thank you for caring though, we'll talk about deeper matters of the heart, some other time." She said, smirking at him, wondering if he would take what she said to heart or not.
Delilah sighed and looked up, a big grin on her face, and she noticed that a certain someone else was either approaching her, or chosing to ignore her. She raised an eyebrow, wondering if Jason really would just ignore her like that. She'd probably change her mind very quickly about him. Delilah raised an arm and offered a wave and a smile to him, whether he chose to accept it or not, was up to him. She could only hope that he'd be the friend to her now that he was to her in Seattle.

Jason saw the grin on her face and the small wave, "well better go say hi" he said quietly to himself. As he walked over he had a flash back to when he saw the kid she was with right now and her on the train. When he approached he decided to pretend not to be bothered by the other kid. "so how much did you pay Raynor to make you and Connor head boy and head girl" he asked playfully. Jason stopped an leaned against the wall next to where she was sitting. "And you know me and I don't normally question ones motives but... why are you sitting on the floor" he asked with a playfull grin. Cole couldn't help but enjoy the fact that Delilah was happy because he was. He had never really had anyone share his joy with him before but it felt completely natural. He was smiling ear to ear as she said "Did you want to sit somewhere else? If you're chilly I don't mind." Cole thought about it for a moment and then decided he would rather have Delilah comfortable. He turned to her and said "I don't mind being here with you, I just need a little time to adjust to it, but you were here first so why not stay here?" He chuckled a little bit trying to signify to Delilah that he was more than happy to be there with her. Cole hadn't felt this happy in days, and it really got to him sometimes that he couldn't be around Delilah as much as he wished. He missed the times they had spent over the summer just walking and getting to know each other. He wondered if he still meant the same to her as he had thought he did over the summer. He knew that she did though just by remembering how her mood had changed as he approached.
Delilah answered his question. She wants me to be here for her, and I will do just that...I know I would want the same, if she needs me she has me Cole thought as he listened to the words that Delilah spoke. He felt her gently squeeze his knee after she finished speaking. It was so warm, it made him feel a thousand times stronger, in that moment Cole could have taken the world on and come out on top. As she withdrew her hand Cole said to her very seriously "Alright, its cool with me if you don't want to talk about it now, just know that if you need someone to vent with or just talk with I am here for you, and I will do my best to listen...if you ever need me it doesn't matter what the time is I will be there for you." Cole paused for a second and then continued "I would love to talk about deeper matters sometime...thanks for trusting me it means a lot." He gently patted Delilah on the back to say I am here and then he carefully withdrew his hand. Cole was just really happy that she trusted him like he trusted her. Not a lot of people had the strength it took to do that.
Cole continued to look at Delilah just smiling away. He saw her wave at somebody all of a sudden and turned to see who it was. He saw a guy he had never really met before walking towards them.Great...so much for actually talking with her...Cole thought. The guy started to talk to Delilah. In Cole's opinion it was a little bit to playful for his liking. Cole began to feel really out of place as this guy flashed a rather playful looking smile. Cole wasn't usually a jealous person, but this time he felt extremely jealous. He didn't like this other guy. It wasn't based on knowledge of who he was, it was mainly the fact that he didn't like the way he acted with Delilah.
Cole tried to keep the smile he had on his face. He knew that if he did what was going through his mind right now he would not be back at Hogwarts again. So Cole did his best to stay calm. He kept up his smile and kept reminding himself of what had happened moments before this newcomer had arrived. Cole could only hope he was containing his jealousy and rage half as well as he thought he was. There weren't a lot of times where Cole had ever been so determined but he knew at this moment in time he would do anything he had to do in order to rescue this princess from the dragon. He was ready to save her from anything, and he knew from this moment he was going to give her his absolute all.
Cole waited awkwardly to be introduced to this guy. He knew that he was going to do his best to show this guy exactly what he was made of. Cole was no push over and anyone who looked at him would be able to tell. He jus hoped that he didn't end up saying or doing anything he would regret later. He just continued to look from the newcomer to Delilah.

As Jason finally approached her, she seemed to notice that the two boys were already not getting along. She sighed in her mind, knowing that this is not what she wanted today, maybe some other day, but today, she was just not willing to handle exactly what had been on her mind in the first place. Delilah glanced to Cole, then smiled up at Jason from his remark, "Pay her? Please, more like threaten." Delilah said, obvious sarcasm in her voice. Right about now she wasn't sure how to act around the both of them. She decided her best bet was to simply be herself, and let the dice fall where they may.
"Why, is there a better place to sit?" Delilah asked teasingly. She'd sit wherever she pleased, thank you very much. Sure, there might've been other places to sit, but the floor was always there being walked on, maybe it didn't mind having people sit on it for once.
Finally, seeing as she knew the two boys hadn't met before... either that or there was some obvious tension going on... she decided to introduce them, and maybe that would get everyone comforable enough to be civil. "Ahem, Jason, this is Cole Barlet." She said, looking back at Cole with a warm smile. "Cole, this would be Jason Williams, straight from Seattle." She said, looking back up at Jason, with an equally warm smile.
Now, whether Jason decided to sit with her and Cole, was up to him, but Delilah was sure getting tired of having to crane her neck up, just to look at the boy... Cole on the other hand, seemed to have no problem glaring at him... Couldn't they just chill? What was the problem here? Was it the one that was going on in her head in the first place?

Jason laughed "threaten huh" Jason said with a grin. Jason knelt down still half laughing. "now seeing how its you that doesn't surprise me" Jason said with a playful grin. Jason was kinda puzzled how two slytherns got the head positions but he didn't really care, because he didn't listen to a word they said any way, but now that Delilah was Head Girl he would mind a little, but not for Connor.
When Delilah introduced him and Cole he nodded his head "Nice to meet you Cole" Jason said half lieing because he really didn't know what the kids true intentions were. "So Cole what year are you" Jason asked, acting like he cared. Jason tried not to be a jerk and he normally wasn't, but something about this kid made his stomach turn.

Cole was extremely annoyed that Jason had showed up when he did. There was something about him that Cole just could not stand. Cole knew if he hadn't met Jason like this he might have actually liked him, but at this point Cole was jealous. Cole continued to observe how Jason interacted with Delilah and this just made him angry.Guys like him just tick me off... Cole thought. Cole stared at Jason doing his best to stay civil. How he wished he wasn't in school at this moment.
Cole heard Jason say "Nice to meet you Cole." Cole calmly said "Nice to meet you to." Right away Cole had suspicions that his feelings towards Jason were mutual. Great...the drama is starting already... Cole thought. He was getting really mad and needed to calm himself down. "So Cole what year are you?" Cole heard Jason ask. Of all the people he could be talking to right now Jason was the last one Cole wanted to talk to. He became enraged just being around him. Cole replied a little more coldly than he intended to "I'm a fifth year....what about you?" Great...that came out completely wrong... Cole thought. Before Jason had a chance to respond Cole said "Hey sorry...I didn't mean to snap like that...I have a lot on my mind right now." Cole hoped so desperately that he hadn't offended anyone, too many times he spoke without truly thinking of the outcome.
"So how do you guys know each other anyways?" Cole asked. He waited patiently for either of them to respond. His mind began running again and he continued to think of how angry he was. It was building a lot in him and he couldn't seem to shake it.

Delilah looked from boy to boy and knew that they weren't exactly hitting it off... was this her fault? Delilah was a little caught now, knowing that things were going to get awkward if she didn't do something soon. She decided to continue being herself, hoping that they would begind to like each other once they got past the obvious.
Delilah smiled at Cole, impressed that he apologized after letting out a bit of what was on his mind... Hmm, so he was a fifth year was he? Delilah was happy that she didn't have to ask him, she was glad to know finally. So he had a lot on his mind? Was this a hint?
"Well, just like any other person meets others here... randomly." Delilah said, smirking up at the two boys. Jason absolutely refused to sit with them, and frankly, if they couldn't be nice, she'd have to leave before she burst out into tears. She didn't want this kind of drama at the beginning of the year.

The image of Delilah and Cole on the train kept running through his head. Jason wasn't mad, it was completely up to her who she liked, but Jason really thought it would be him because they hit it off so well, or so he thought. Where the hell did this kid come from Jason thought to himself feeling kinda blind sided by this turn of events.
Jason tensed up when the kid snapped back at him. "Seventh year, along with Delilah here" Jason replied wanting to knock some respect into Cole, Jason knew if he stuck around this would make for a bad situation for Delilah who he was sure she didn't wanna be in the middle of this spitting match between him and Cole. Jason's stomach growled, "Hey I'm gonna go get some food, I should be out on the grounds this afternoon if you wanna hang out" He said smiling at Delilah

When Delilah flashed Cole her beautiful smile he couldn't help but light up. He made sure that Delilah would see that he was smiling back at her. Cole didn't really think about how that would make Jason feel, and quite frankly he couldn't care less about what Jason would think. After he had made sure Delilah saw him he listened to her reply to his question."Well, just like any other person meets others here... randomly." is all that Delilah had to say about how her and Jason had met. Cole could tell by the way that she had been smirking when she answered. Cole was alright with that because he knew for a fact that the way he and Delilah had met would equal one massive smirk.
Cole's face flushed red for a moment or two as he realized that Jason had just completely blown off his apology. This guy is a real piece of work...fricken pompous jerks...I would love to meet him on my own...outside of school... Cole thought. Cole tried his best to make his face become normal again but Jason just rubbed him the complete wrong way. Cole was used to getting the same respect he gave people. Nobody truly knew what he was capable of; not even himself. Cole had never gotten angry with someone so badly that he didn't control what he was doing to them, but he knew that if Jason continued the road he had been choosing so far he may not be able to control himself anymore. Cole made his face smile again and the red faded quickly. Hoping nobody noticed he looked down to the floor and began to trace his finger on the cracks in the tiles.
Cole barely even heard Jason say that he was a seventh year. All that Cole could think about was how jealous he was.Great...I think like her boyfriend when I don't even know if she wants that yet...Cole thought. His thoughts were interrupted by Jason stating Hey I'm gonna go get some food, I should be out on the grounds this afternoon if you wanna hang out" to Delilah. So nice of you to give me enough time to make sure I know your leaving...Cole thought. "Good to meet you." Cole said in his normal voice. He couldn't wait for Jason to leave, all he really wanted was to talk with Delilah.

Delilah watched the two boys... this wouldn't end well, if they were on their own. She watched as Jason was about to leave, and she decided she would stay, she didn't want to look like some love struck puppy that followed him around. Jason seemed to emphasize the fact he and Delilah were older than Cole, and her eyebrows furrowed... This was no way to make friends... Maybe that wasn't on his mind...
Cole on the other hand, seemed to be biting his tongue, his face flashing from rage, to a forced smile, and then completely blank, as he fiddled with something on the floor. Delilah looked from Cole to Jason as his stomach made some hunger pains, she smiled up at Jason. "Alright Jas, I'll catch up with you later..." She said, making it clear that she wanted to be here with Cole at the moment. She also knew that as soon as Jason left for the Great Hall, she'd be leaving for her room... And try to avoid these two boys as much as possible.
