Tianne had been friends with Matilda Wentworth since they were fourteen years old. Granted that was only two years from this time, but they were the best of friends. It was rare to see one without the other, they knew each other's secrets, they helped each other with problems and they both wanted the best for their best friend. They had been through a lot, like all best friends, but they had gotten through it all, though they needed some help. But they were stronger now than Tianne had ever been with anyone. Well, that was excepting Jeremy Adams, Tianne's other best friend.
Unlike Tianne and Matty, Jeremy had been a part of the sixth year's life for as long as she could remember. Sure, they had only been best friends for about 6 or 7 years, but Tianne has known him her whole life. Barbara Barrett and Jeremy's mum had been friends since they were in Hogwarts, it was a bit hard for a friendship not to blossom between the two. And now that he was at hogwarts with her, well, they were becoming closer and closer. Which, to Tianne, posed a problem.
Matty and Jeremy were yet to meet each other.
So it didn't sound bad, but to Tianne, it was like her worlds were crashing in to each other. She had to put a stop to it. Tianne mailed both of her mates a letter, with a simple handwritten note inside the envelope.
Entrance Hall - 2:00pm Sunday bring swimmers, food and smile bring a friend if you want (; LOVEYOU!
Making sure that she left plenty of time, Tianne set out from the common room at 1:45. She didn't want to be late to something that she had set herself, and knowing her track record, it was a big possiblity that that would happen. With her bag in one hand, her sunglasses in the other, Tianne reached the stairs of the Entrance Hall, before stopping and waiting.

Matty loved the weekend. It was easily the best two days of her week. Despite the fact that it was generally the time in which she did a considerable amount of homework, it was also the time she enjoyed seeing her friends. For there was no distractions from the lessons you saw them in. She could spend time alone with Emeric without people giving them slightly odd looks, coming from their different houses and scenes and such. Not only that but as an older student you had so much more freedom, less worries despite the obvious responsibilities you had as a part of the senior years.
So it was no real surprise when Tee requested a day to hangout. The only odd thing about it was that she sent it via invitation, generally the Ravenclaw would just rock up at the House and ask a passing Hufflepuff to come and get her. The teenager didn't worry though, she had intended to hangout with her bestfriend this weekend anyway. Getting together her gear, the teen left enough time to wandering about and see if she could find someone to take along with her. She had intended to snag Emeric if he wasn't busy, but when walking through the Common Room Matty saw Maddy, practically bubbling over with excitement.
To cut it long story short, the next five minutes was spent with Maddy begging Matilda to let her tag along, and in the end the older girl gave in. Little Maddyson reminded the Sixth year so much of herself when she was that age. Right down to the fact that she was the same build, complexity and hair colour, not to mention the whole full name being shortened to a nickname. Even their names were alike in ways. She was a fun girl, practically a sister to Matty, so the girl really didn't mind, and hurried her along to grab some swimmers while the teenager got some food from the kitchens and met the younger girl back at the entrance to their house.
From there, Matilda walked them along to see Tianne waiting on time in the Entrance hall. "Hey sexy lady." she hollard out, a grin on her face as she glanced down to Maddy giving her a small wink.

Sliding over to the side of the step, in order to avoid the quite large group of people that were currently making their way down, Tianne nodded a greeting to those people that she knew. She liked to think that she was a fairly prominent person in the school community, what with her prefect badge and her and Matty's escapades, but it was nice to know that more than just her teachers knew her name. It wasn't popularity that Tianne was after, it was just a little recognition, for all that she did for the school.
Leaning onto the rail, making sure her dress was still at a comfortable length, without it being revealing, Tianne again smiled at a couple of passersby. She must have looked a bit loony, what with the sitting on the stairs, dressed up with a few possessions, but hopefully people would realise that she was waiting for someone, or some people in this case. Tianne had always been an insecure person, not about her looks, but about what people thought of her. It just came naturally to her after years of being... well, a loner.
It truly was friends that got her through her day. Whether it be in classes, or just by meeting new people in the corridors, Tianne didn't think that she could live without them. They were a bare necessity, along with food & water, and shelter. Okay, so maybe that was overstating their importance, but to Tianne, she couldn't live without them.
Tapping her feet on the ground rhythmically, Tianne smiled as she saw her friend, and a person who looked like Maddyson Cross, a third year hufflepuff, arrive at the meeting place. "Hey." Tianne spoke nervously, hoping that Matty didn't catch on to the fact that she was scared. Tianne didn't want Matty to be angry, after all, Matty had listened to hours of Tianne telling her about her and Jeremy's adventures. Maybe she'd be pissed that Tianne left this part out, she didn't know. "Hey Maddy." She said with a grin, holding her hand up to be high-fived.
Why, oh why, did she always treat young Maddyson like a child? _________________________________ yay for my 600th post xD

would he bring anyone else? This made a bunch of thoughts explode into the boy's mind. Was she bringing a boyfriend of sorts, and wanted Jez to bring along a girl to keep him occupied? Did she not want to be seen with just him anymore? Was Tee hoping he would bring a male friend so she could get to know more guys? Merlin, hoe insecure he really was. But Jeremy sucked it up and finished his homework for the remainder of the morning. He barely ate a lunch in order to leave room for the picnic he assumed they were having. Changing into a pair of clothes fitter for an outing. The boy grabbed some bottles of butter beer his friends had given him as a going away gift from Durmstrang and set out to get to the Entrance Hall, all the while his mind was streaming with thoughts of who would be there and why they were. Eventually he reached it, and the tall thin boy looked with blue eyes for his shorter best friend. Figure found. Tianne was standing with two other shorter girls - well, shorter than him anyway, though one was slightly taller than Tee. The taller, older looking one of the two was a brunette, her long hair falling across the shoulders of a white summer dress she wore. The shortest of the looked to be the youngest, maybe about a fourth year. The three of them standing there had a daunting effect on Jez. These must be some of Tee's other friends, he should have been that coming. He was barely down the steps before he caught a look at the brunette's face. She was gorgeous, he wouldn't put that past her, but yet she wasn't as beautiful as he saw Tianne, it was just like that. Anyway, pretty girls always made him feel slightly intimidated, and it was bound to show. Meeting the group, praying he had brought some sunglasses to hide his nervous glance to Tianne, Jeremy stood there for a moment before he even spoke. "Hi." he said, a nervous and cautious, very small smile making its way onto his face. Oh my. he was wearing[/ul]

Everyone had that annoying friend that always tagged along. Whether it was someone that they didn't like, and were always trying to lose, or whether it was a best friend that just didn't know that they appreciated their alone time. Maddy liked to think that she wasn't this person, though she was fairly sure that Matty saw her as an annoyance more than she saw her as a friend. It wasn't something that really bothered Maddy; they didn't hang out often enough for it to evolve into a problem. And she knew that she had friends that kind of annoyed her, but she loved them all the same. It was needless to say that Maddy always saw things on the positive side. She wasn't, and never had been, a negative person. Maddy knew that bad thoughts were reflected, and although this worried her, it wasn't her reason for being so optimistic. She didn't really have a reason, but she was just that kind of person; why need a reason to do something. Maddy was spontaeneous, she was crazy (most people thought that she wasn't all there) and she fit perfectly into the Hufflepuff category. Life really was sweet. So we already know that Maddy had begged to come. It wasn't that hard for ehr to get in, she knew Matty's points of giving in, she knew how to hit the sweet spot. Of course there was the argument that Tianne was just going to spend time with Matty, but Maddy knew that she wouldn't get in their way, or under their skin. Everything was going to be wicked. Smiling at Tianne as they approaching, Maddy giggled at Matty's comment. "You look really nice today Tianne. Not that you usually look horrible or anything, you just look espeically pretty today." She said, her voice drifting off slightly as the volume decreased. "I like you're shoes?" She said sweetly, trying to redeem herself to the older girl. "I hope you dont mind me tagging along?" Maddy asked, though she knew that Tianne wouldn't have a problem with it. She never did. There was just something about the girl that made Maddy want to be polite and extra-nice. Maddy watched the boy as he approached, though she had no idea that he was going to be joining them. The girl waited for Tianne to greet him, before she did anything.

Smiling at Maddyson, Tianne listened to what she had to say. It made her laugh, the way that she got so caught up in her words, the way that she was trying to compliment, though the meaning was twisted. She knew that she was the total opposite of what Maddy was when she was her age, but she liked to think that the two were quite similar in the present day. Tianne knew that she was similiar to Matty, she found it quite funny that there could be best friends that were so alike, yet not rivals, and they never fought.
"You look nice too, Maddy." She said with a nod, and a giggle in response to her stumbling. " And whoaaaa, Matty. You're steppin' up the gorge, hey?" She joked. The two were always mocking those girls that were fans of the whole, 'peace, music, love' sort of scene, and spoke in chat words, like totally, and omg, lol and bffls. Tianne just found it hiliarious that they thought of themselves highly enough.
Smiling as Jeremy rocked up to their little group, Tianne couldn't believe how nervous she was. She felt bad for Jeremy, she knew that he would take it worse than either Matty or Maddy, as meeting new people was merely second nature to the girls. It was obvious that the boy was nervous, Tianne knew that. Moving closer to the boy, she put her arm around his waist; not in a sexual way, in a 'its okay, i know you're nervous, but you're my best friend and i want to help you get through this' sort of way.
"Matty. This is Jeremy."

Derrick Breckenridge was up to his usual musing that Sunday afternoon. Whoever said doing your homework early was being a busy body didn't know the joys of having this wonderful day of the week free. It was the day in which Derrick got most of his reading and for that matter lounging out on the grounds done. Well it wasn't really lounging at least not in Derrick's opinion as anytime he got to play Francesca to him was work and nothing short of it. Derrick though enjoyed his work to say the least and it was something he would probably enjoy until the day he died at least that was what he thought. After all what could beat spending a day such as today in the sun with ones guitar? In Derrick's mind nothing could and he was quite happy that this was something he had to enjoy and that would be his escape. It was almost a disappointment to him to even acknowledge the fact that in four years such carefree days would be gone but he could deal with that then, right now he had a date with the lake.
It was something that he found himself thinking about more and more as his fifth year approached. Sure it was still nearly two years away but career advisement was coming up then and what he wanted to do had to be taken into some consideration before then. Derrick once more pushed the thoughts from his minds knowing that he shouldn't worry about it now. He would bother with it in his fourth year and not before then. For now he would enjoy being a kid and not worry about the future all that really mattered was the now. Derrick's footsteps faltered though as he gazed down the stair case onto the landing and saw the group of students. Usually this wouldn't bother him and he would have blown right past them but then he saw her.
Maddyson's face came into full view and as it did Derrick missed the first step only to find himself heading for the bottom of the stairs. It really wasn't his fault that she was so stunning after all he couldn't help that fact could he? So Derrick fell landing face first on the stairs and sliding down on his stomach to the bottom. This of course would have been all well and good had it not been for the fact that Maddyson and whoever she was with had moved. They hadn't though and while Derrick knew Francesca was safe on his back he still managed to run into the only boy in the group. Derrick wished he could disappear in that moment though as he lay some what on top of the boy. What was wrong with him? Why did he manage to make himself look like such a fool in front of Maddyson and what he assumed to be her friends? Derrick gaining his bearings lifted himself off the floor and offered his hand to the boy looking down and hoping praying that he hadn't managed to make himself look like too much of an idiot. At this point though Derrick was pretty sure that he couldn't make this situation any worse but at the same time he had a very good feeling that he could.

As the pleasantries were being discussed, or Tianne made mention of them, Maddy stepped back. She knew that this wasn't the time for her to butt in showing her latest scars, or offering the jellybeans that she had packed in her bag and was seriously thinking about just taking them back to the dormitory with her; she could spend a whole day just eating her bertie botts. As she rocked back on her heels and tossed her blonde hair over her shoulders Maddy began to hum.
"Take time to realise, that you're warmth is crashing down on me. Take time to realise that I am on your side. didn't I, didn't I tell you. But I cant spell it out for you, no it's never going to be that simple." Maddy sang quietly to herself. She didn't have the best of voices, but instead she housed an alternative singing style, somewhat relaxing and warm. As she looked up the stairs, she noticed a familiar face, a face that she should have recognised a lot sooner than she did. If he only knew that she had hesitated to say hello, god only knows how much he'd resent on.
Maddy still hadn't caught on to that obvious fact that Derrick, well, 'liked' her, for lack of a better word to use. She was as slow as was humanly possible, but it was mostly because Maddy wasn't at the the stage that she would be boy obsessed. She was too much of a tomboy, being friends with too many guys for her to like them, she thought of them as mates and nothing else, basically because she had never thought of them in any other way, it hadn't crossed her mind.
"Get off him." She giggled, stepping back into the group, pulling Derrick off the boy that was actually quite good looking, not that Maddy had taken any notice. "I'm Maddy. And he's Derrick." She smiled, giving a small punch to the other hufflepuff boy's arm.
