Accepted! Welcome to Hogwarts
[ Full Character Name: ] Ryan James Callahan
[ Character Gender: ] Male
[ Country of Citizenship: ] Ireland
[ Physical Character Description: ]
Ryan looks like your typical surfy, sport-playing beach boy. And in all fact, he is exactly that. Standing at a tall 5’10, Ryan towers over many people. His physique is athletic and strong, with a nice tanned colour. So otherwise, lets face it, Ryan is a cute boy. He has one of those faces that make the girls giggle and blush, and frankly, he knows it. The teen has co-co-nut brown hair, which comes down around his ears, and is usually in a messy trend. The skin on his face is rather clear, as he takes care of it, to keep up his appearance. Like every dreamy boy, Ryan has gorgeous eyes. They are a blended mix of sea blue and bottle green. They show allot of his emotion, to be exact. The boy has a pretty average nose, which is a little on the larger side. Ryan has a winning smile, with two shows of straight teeth, which were a product of having braces for two years, prior to coming to Hogwarts.
Ryan has a rather unique taste of clothes. The boy tends to wear allot more surf brands and skate brands rather than your ‘average joe’ clothing. He wears tees and short in the warmer seasons, and jeans or cargo pants, and jackets and hoodies in the cooler months. And after looking at the Hogwarts robes, Ryan assumes he will have to take his own approach to the school’s style. This means rolled up sleeves, loose ties, and un-tucked shirts. He wears a particularly small shoe size, for his height, only a size eight in mens. So, that’s Ryan. Your gorgeous boy with his gorgeous looks.
[ Personality Character Description: ]
Ryan is a trouble maker. He loves to show off, and never fails to do so. He is one of the people that always have to have the spotlight on him, even if it isn’t for all the right reasons. He is pretty smart, but sometimes doesn’t use the knowledge to his advantage. Ryan has plenty of common sense, and uses that to attract people, girls included. Now that he is so used to doing so, Ryan can’t help but show off. Ryan doesn’t really enjoy reading, writing or learning, but if it means he will get a girl, he’ll do so. Ryan is at an age where the impression he makes on girls is about 60% of his brain power. He is your typical flirt and knows how to ‘charm the chicks’. If Ryan likes someone, he will stop at nothing to get them, and wins a lot of the time.
This boy is vain. He loves himself, but hates other people knowing so. In the muggle world, all of Ryan’s friends are like this. He can’t stand people making fun of him, unless its a girl, in which he believes they are just playing hard-to-get. He is never insecure about his body or looks, and really shows of his muscles and smile whenever there is a pretty girl around. He enjoys running around the ovals, because he knows girls go after fit, athletic boys.
[ History: ]
As far as Ryan’s life goes, it’s been pretty average. He didn’t come from a rich family, nor did he travel the world, but he has had some great times. Growing up with an older brother, named Robbie, has influenced him greatly. Although Robbie six years older than Ryan, they were quite close to each other. Robbie now works as a carpenter, following in his fathers footsteps. The two Callahan boys are very alike in some ways, but also different in others. The Boys’ father, Marty, works for a carpentry business, and is quite successful. The teenager looks up to his father, despite the fact that he does not wish to follow in his footsteps, unlike his older brother. Jeanine, Ryan’s mother, works as a teacher at the local primary school. It was a little tough for Ryan, as his mother had also been his teacher, but the mischief increased once the boy got to High School. Ryan has had quite an average up brining. He had no problems as a child, besides ‘acting up’. Throughout Primary school he caused strife, as a young boy does. And in his first couple of years at High School, he was labelled as a prime ‘bad-boy’.
Ever since he can remember, Ryan has had one best friend, Seth Collins. The troublesome-two, as they were nicknamed by the principal of their primary school, got up to much mischief, much to the dismay of the parents. Ryan has many memories of the two getting into trouble, and yet he sees them as good memories. These two teens are so much alike, it’s not uncanny. They dress in the same fashion, go for the same girls, hang out with the same people, follow the same fad, talk and even act the same. Throughout their lives, the two have treated each other like brothers, and Seth’s dad is even treated like a fellow family member to the Callahan’s.
When Ryan's parents recieved the letter, stating that he was magical, his mother couldn't have been happier. That was where Ryan go his powers, and even thgouh his mother was amuggle born, she knew many of the teachers that taught in the school. It was Ryan's father that strongly objected to him leaving. His parents fought and fought until they came to a conclusion. Ryan would not go. They believed that Ryan should stay, and complete his education at his normal school, as that would maybe teach him how to behave. They didn't want to get hundreds of letters home, explaining all of the bad things the boy would do. It wasn't until the boy turned thriteen, until iot was decided, that the boy was too much trouble for them to handle now, and maybe, just maybe, his behaviour would be better at hogwarts. Ryan can remember the day when he went to Diagon Alley. The Joke shope was probably his favourite, as he found madam malkins to be quitre lame.
After Ryan had recieved his wand, 11 inch, maade from maple wood with a pheonix feather core, there ws only one thing left to do before he could go to the school. Hogwarts doesn't accept anyone, other than firt years, with no prior magic training, so Ryan's mothjer suggested they both go to the ministry of magic, to see if they could get a little bit of training beforehand. They only need to know the basics, just so they'd be able to do something when they arrived at the magical school. It was a couple of ex-professors that did the job, teaching them how to wave their wand, to levitate an item, and name many types of magical creatures. Ryan hadn't sat still for that long. Ever.
[ Pros and Cons : ]
Ryan is quite sporty. He actually enjoys working out, running and training, as long as it keeps his body fit. He competes in Athletic Carnivals, touch football and tackle football games and is a big fan of soccer. He plays striker on his junior league team, which he loves so much. Even through the hail and rain, he continues to perform. Ryan can’t stand not being active, and will stop at nothing to exercise. He is also quite a good skateboarder, competing in many tournaments, even if he doesn’t win all the time.
Ryan’s intelligence level is higher than most people would think it was. Although the boy tends not to use it, he actually can read a book and write an essay. It’s not the fact that he wants to stay cool, but the fact of which he can’t actually be bothered. Ryan performs well in tests, but his classwork needs working on. Ryan’s attitude towards homework is “You can give, but I’m not doing it.” To get him to perform up to the standards, all Ryan really needs is a good teacher.
Despite some of his flaws, Ryan is a extremely loyal person. He has many flings over the years, but only a couple of them have developed into a actual relationship. In these situations, the boy has remained faithful, and quite loving to the lucky girl. But usually he gets another eye for someone else, and there goes his relationship. On the friendship side, Ryan has one best friend, and everyone knows who that is. Seth Collins is the boy’s best friend, and through thick and thin, they never part. He is a great friend, and is trusting and truthful, despite his mischief life.
Ryan is vain, full stop. He isn’t the kind of guy that takes pictures of himself, or stares at himself in the mirror, but the kind that shows off his body whenever possible. Well, whenever there is girls around. He knows that he is good looking, and he definitely acts it. It’s basically the girls that swoon over him, that find him irresistible that gives him that extra confidence, which is probably not so good.
So basically, Ryan is competitive. This can get in the way of some things, but the boy doesn’t think about it this way. In sport, he strives to be the best, unless it’s second best to his best mate, which is different. He fights other guys for girls, which can sometimes cause issues such as fights, but yet again, unless it’s Seth Collins, the boy doesn’t care. Some would say he’s selfish, but really, he does look out for others... at times. The one thing Ryan doesn’t compete in, is school work. Basically, the doesn’t give a rats bum, and settles for good or bad grades, whatever the subject.
Ryan could be smart. He could be well behaved. He could do the right thing. But he’s not. Ryan is rebellious. Against allot, which is without reason. He doesn’t like to do what people tell him to do, and he doesn’t like to be seen as a ‘straight’ and ‘normal’ guy. Ryan tends to want to feel and act different, no matter the impression. Usually this is used within a class, or a social thing. Whether it makes him the good or bad guy, he doesn’t care, all he thinks about is rebelling against the rules that hold him against what he really wants.
[Role Playing Example:]
Ryan jumped out of bed with a fright. He glanced over at the clock, to see that it was barely even five in the morning. The sun hadn’t risen and there was dew all over the windows. Lying back in bed, the boy thought about what he would do on this, cold, dreary morning. He knew that whatever he did would be with Seth, but he was still busy deciding what that would actually be. Maybe they’d go for a fish, along the lake, or even just hang out, he didn’t really care. Ryan stood up and stretched. It was all ready 6:05. The sun had risen, and he could hear his dog barking. “Oscar. Shut up! It’s early!” He yelled, with his croaky morning voice.
Ryan walked down the stairs into the kitchen. No-one was up yet, so he decided to start making the breakfast. “ Two coffees... One tea... Four bowls of cereal... Four pieces of toast... And one freshly squeezed orange juice.” He said, as he prepared each dish. In his family, whoever was the first up made breakfast for everyone. It was just a tradition kind of thing that they shared. Ryan set the table with spoons and plates, and placed each of the meals in their places. “That good, whatever.” He mumbled, whilst walking upstairs to get dressed.
Rummaging through his drawers, Ryan pulled out a pair of black pinstriped shorts, a green tee shirt with purple ‘ billabong’ written messily across the sleeve, and his thongs. “Perfect.” He said as a loud knock shook the doors. “ Ryan, up ya get.” His dad yelled. “Geez, I’m up! I’m up! Do you think the breakfast made itself?” The boy spoke back. Opening up the door, to see his fther standing there in his works shorts and no top, he shuddered. "Gimme some warning or something, ugh!" Ryan joked. Ryan's dad tugged at his ear. "It was a joke!" He said with the familar smirk upon he face.
Slinding down the staircase, Ryan ran down and kissed his mum good morning. "Morning, mother dearest." "Hey, hun." Ryan smacked his older brother over the head. It all happened in a split second, but by the time Ryan's mum had turned around from the washing up to see what was going on, Ryan had been tackled onto the ground by Robbie, and was currently pucnhing him in the chest. " Ryan! Stop That! No! Robbie! Get off you brother!" She yelled, pulling Robbie away from the kicking fourteen year old. His hair had been ruffled up and his shirt all messed up. Ryans mum came over to gently stroke his hair back into a neat state. "Mum! Don't!" He protested urgently.
