[ Physical Character Description: ] Like all the other men in Mick’s family, he was early to develop . At 15 he is already familiar with shaving and although physicians believe that he hasn’t reached the end of his growth spurts, he already stands at 185 centimeters (about 6 ft 1 in). He has jet black hair, cut short. His eyes, matching his hair, are a dark blue, often mistaken for black. Mick has a lot of stake in his appearance so takes care to keep himself well dressed and well groomed. He keeps his hair up with gel, and dresses in a way that lends focus to his broad shoulders. As part of his upkeep, Mick makes sure to exercise and as result he has formed an acceptable body. On first glance, Mick appears to be intimidating and arrogant. On more than one occasion his style has prevented relationships from forming, other times it has encouraged relationships that should never have been created. Brought up in a very formal household, Mick hardly ever smiles. On the rare occasions that he does, it usually lasts for no more that a few seconds.
[ Personality Character Description: ] Mick loves to observe, often taking mental notes about others’ personalities, however, he is in no way nosey, he simple sits back and observes whatever is going on In front of him. People behave in the oddest way when they think no one is watching. When in a group of people he hardly knows, Mick’s habit for observation will usually get the best of him and he’ll stay quiet, recluse even. However, when in the company of friends, Mick is outgoing and loud. He is comfortable striking up conversations in awkward silences and is especially comfortable when it comes to speaking with girls.
In terms of the “Slytherin Stereotype” Mick doesn’t appreciate it. Although he is never compassionate with a person from Gryffindor or Hufflepuff, he is all for the end of You Know Who’s reign and would have gladly stood up and fought against the death eaters along with the likes of Harry Potter. His lack of compassion stems from a rigid upbringing, not an innate hatred for students in other houses. House rivalries seem trivial at best.
His family also taught him to keep things to himself, so if Mick seems bothered or disturbed chances are he won’t talk about it, even with his closest friend. On occasion he has been known to open up to his older sister or girlfriend, but only when strongly encouraged. The thoughts he keeps to himself includes his political views. Having been shutdown so often by his father and older brother, Mick is uncomfortable sharing his political views with others.
[ History: ] Mick was born and raised in a large house in the residential part of Dublin Ireland. He was sent to a muggle prep school as a young boy but spent nights and weekends with his siblings. His Mother and Father both work in high up positions for the ministry and were friends with many well known death eaters. Although it was never proven, Mick is quite sure that his father partook in a few death eater assignments. Mick is the youngest of 5 having two olders brothers and two older sisters. He spent much of his childhood trying to prove himself to his older brothers Wiley and Sam, and the rest of the time being indulged by his eldest sister Ellie. The other sister, who was closest to him in age, wanted nothing to do with him.
Everyone in his immediate family attended Hogwarts, however his mother was muggle-born. Having gone to a muggle school, Mick is well acquainted with their customs and lifestyle. He was forbidden to use magic until reaching Hogwarts, however he and his siblings were able to entertain themselves with games of quidditch and shuntbumps. There was always an unspoken competitiveness between the brothers, even playing football in primary school, but all forms of competing were abandoned when his father became a supporter of You Know Who. Mick, along with his eldest brother and sister silently supported Dumbledore and Harry Potter while the other siblings went blindly along with his father. Wiley went as far as to join the ranks of the deatheaters. He died in the service of You Know Who, details remain unknown.
[ Pros and Cons : ]
Pros:
1. Loyalty - Mick stands by both his friends and people who he believes to be right. For friends, he will defend them when they are insulted. For others, he will silently support them and will offer his services when he sees the need.
2. Cultivated - Although he is often quiet, Mick is known for his great conversational skills. These skills are most useful when it comes to women.
3. Confidence - After years of competing with his brothers, he eventually formed large enough ego to compare with Wiley and Sam. The confidence enables him to perform well under pressure.
Cons:
1. Over Confidence/Cockiness - Sometimes, the same confidence that enables him to perform under pressure gets him caught up in situations where he shouldn’t be. While he is intelligent and fully capable in classes, he does not always get things right, but because of his ego, professors and fellow students give him a harder time .
2. Short Temper - Always keeping in his feelings has left Mick with a shorter temper than necessary. With those people who he doesn’t like, including professors, Mick has blown his stack more than once, getting himself into a lot of trouble.
3. Image Concerned - Being concerned with his image often annoys the people around him. He is trying to work on It though.
[Role Playing Example:] A cool breeze was coming through the open castle windows as Mickey stumbled down the corridor toward the great hall. Although classes had been going on for a week now, the Slytherin still hadn’t gotten used to the early mornings and late nights. Unfortunately his usually well kept appearance had been suffering as a result of it. As he reached up to his chin to scratch the stubble that was forming he reminded himself to have a quick shave during his next free period.
Hearing a pack of Slytherins close in behind him, Mick tried to shake himself awake. The last thing he wanted was for his house mates to form meaningless judgements about his appearance while he was having an off day. As he watched the group (who had been nothing more than a few second year witches) stroll pass him, his mind wandered. When was the last “good” appearance day he’d had. Possibly the first day of classes. The thought of spending more time in the morning preparing himself was unmanageable as he was certain that either his academic or social life would suffer. He sighed slightly and told himself to just forget it, he was supposed to be concerning himself less with appearances anyway.
Mick yawned, his thoughts changing to the possibilities of breakfast. Quickly he was listing the pastries he’d pile onto his plate and licking his lips at the possibility of a glass of pumpkin juice. It was just as he was nearing the entrance hall that Mick reach up to rub a twitch in his eye. As he wasn’t looking his gate carried him directly into another person. He stumbled back and groaned, he wasn’t in the mood for apologies.
“...Er sorry.” he managed before continuing toward the door.
