However, as he is still a wizard, Devon’s favourite set of robes are the midnight blue ones that his father bought for him and his replica team Ireland Quidditch robes that he wears when he plays Quidditch at home with his sister.
[ Personality Character Description: ]Devon is a very optimistic, happy, loyal and outgoing young boy. It takes a lot to make him angry, and even when he does get angry, it doesn’t last very long. Devon doesn’t like to get mad, so he tries to avoid it as much as possible. He can usually be found laughing with his friends, or plotting some devious prank to pull on the next poor bystander. He likes to speak his mind and prefers to be told the truth, than to be lied to about something. Honesty is always the best policy in his book, although he knows there are some instances in which he needs to lie. For example, he needs to lie about who put a frog in the jar of peanut butter. That would be a good time for him to lie.
Out-going and enthusiastic would be good words to describe Devon too, but they are, quite frankly, a bit of an understatement. Devon is always the first one to jump right into a situation, and he often leaps before he thinks, which isn’t too smart. However, he is quick to think, and can get himself out of a messy situation. He can talk his way out of trouble, and is very good at it, since he has to do it several times a day. Trouble is definitely Devon’s forte, and he is always hatching some sort of plan to execute his next prank.
Devon‘s vocabulary is quite different from anyone else’s. He uses words like “mate” and “git” frequently. He can sound very immature at times, but he can also sound very sophisticated. It all depends on the crowd and who he is talking to. He wouldn’t call a professor a “manky git”, but would show them respect and speak politely. That is, until they had turned around and were out of ear shot.
[ History: ] Devon Brodie Coleman was born on October 31st, 1993 to a Muggle mother named Andrea and a wizard father name Brian. Sadly, due to complications at birth, Devon’s mother died, so he never really knew her. He has an older sister Aislinn (15) with whom he is very close. From very early on, Devon’s father knew his son was going to be trouble. As an infant, Devon could make things explode simply by looking at them, which he thought was highly amusing. His sister always got a kick out of it, but it drove his father crazy. Eventually, as Devon grew older and was able to control his powers a little more, he didn’t blow things up by accident, he did it on purpose.
It seemed that Devon was destined to be trouble. His father was very much the same when he was younger, so he couldn’t really get mad at young Devon. Instead, he encouraged him to break the rules once in a while and have fun. Devon had a very happy childhood, having the best of both the wizarding world, and the Muggle world. By request of his mother before she died, Devon attending a Muggle school until he was old enough to go to a wizarding school. Devon enjoyed the Muggle school, and made lots of friends, but he was also picked on a lot, for being so small and scrawny. His sister joined in the teasing at school, as well as at home, but he knew she was only kidding. He let the others slide, not really wanting a confrontation of any sort, and it eventually stopped when the bullies realized he was ignoring them.
Over the years, Devon’s father insisted that he started to learn some spells before he attending a wizard school. He introduced him to the wonderful game of Quidditch and gave him his first broom, a Nimbus 2000. He also bought Devon a set of team Ireland Quidditch robes. Devon loves the sport of Quidditch, and hopes that maybe he’ll be able to be a professional Quidditch player when he’s older, and play on a school team, depending on what House he gets sorted into.
When Devon turned 11, he received a letter from Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, but he also received one from Wales Smithie Magical Private School. His father insisted on Devon attending the private school, instead of the other one. Devon enjoyed himself at the private school, causing trouble and grief wherever he went, but then everything changed. Devon wasn’t there when the first Headmaster died, but Devon was present for the second one. The loss of the Headmaster struck Devon pretty hard, and his father decided to take him out of the school, for he didn’t believe it was safe anymore, and he didn’t trust the daughter of the Headmaster, who is now in charge of the school.
[ Special talents/knacks : ] Devon only has a few special talents, one of them being a talent for trouble. He is also very sneaky too, and can get away with almost anything. He is a very small boy, mouse-like even, and can sneak around easily. His small size also allows him to be a fair flyer, and a fair Seeker.
[ Role Playing Example: ]
Devon hid in the shadows of the dark corridor, rubbing his hands together in anticipation. He could see his two other friends at the other end of the hall way, looking just as excited. Devon held the walkie-talkie up to his mouth and spoke quietly, so he wouldn’t he heard be anyone else.
“Everything ready, TM 2 and 3?” he said, ‘TM’ referring to ‘Trouble Maker’, their team name. Devon saw the thumbs up from his friend and nodded. Sneakily, quietly, Devon came out of the shadows, his black hoodie pulled up over his head and his black pants on, so he’d blend into the shadows.
Wales Smithie Magical Private School was one of the few wizarding schools (if not, the only one) that used electricity. This worked as an advantage for Devon. Creeping through the halls, he got to the room that had the main power switch. Chuckling evilly to himself, Devon’s little hand gripped around the main switch, and in one swift movement, pulled it down. The alarm set off, and all the lights in the school went down. Devon fumbled with the walkie-talkie, and pushed the button down to talk to his friends.
“TM 2, west corridor! TM 3, east corridor! Execute, execute!” Devon said. He came bursting out of the room, stumbling through the dark a little just to hear the bangs coming from opposite corridors and the screaming started. The walkie-talkie in his hand crackled as a voice came through.
“TM 1, what’s your position?” came Devon’s friend’s voice.
“I’m at my station, TM 2. About to execute the final stage, over and out!” Devon said back to him. He turned off the walkie-talkie and ran to the other end of the corridor, and lit the fireworks. But then the walkie-talkie crackled again. Hadn’t he just turned it off? The voice came through and Devon’s heart sank.
“Mr. Coleman, you are in BIG trouble!” came the voice of the Headmaster. Devon’s eyes widened in fear, and he left his fireworks in the hall, lit and ready to go. They started going off and Devon ran for it, laughing hysterically. He could barely run properly, as he was laughing too hard to breathe. He called out to his friends to let them know what was going on.
“TMs! Ruuuuuuun!”
