Elizabeth Anne Plum
[ Character Gender: ] Female
[ Country of Citizenship: ] UK
[ First House Preference: ] Hufflepuff
[ Second House Preference: ] Slytherin
[ Third House Preference: ] Gryffindor
[ Fourth House Preference: ] Ravenclaw
[ First Year Preference: ] First (I suppose that's all you've got open right now)
[ Second Year Preference: ]
[ Third Year Preference: ]
[ Physical Character Description: ] Elizabeth is somewhat of an outsider in her own family. She looks nothing like her siblings, who have always been under the suspicion that their mother hasn't always been faithful to her husband.
Being neither pretty nor ugly, Elizabeth seems to be caught between that period where one's body can't decide which way it wants to grow. She's a bit on the chunky side and a bit taller than even her older brother and sister. In other matters, even her younger sister pokes fun that, even though she does wear one, the training bra is really unnecessary.
With her front teeth too big and cheeks too round, squinty grey eyes, and full lips, Elizabeth constantly appears to be in a bad mood. That may be because she usually is. Her looks, combined with her stature, form quite an imposing figure for any eleven year old. It's not something she's particularly comfortable, but does use to her own advantage.
[ Personality Character Description: ]Elizabeth can be what one considers to be a bully. Give her any reason to not like you and she'll let you have it. It's really no fault of her own, but a defense she's developed against the constant bullying and teasing she receives at home. Her siblings are much better at breaking the girl down, though, so she turns her frustration on others instead.
This isn't to say that the girl can't make friends. She has very few, but they are good ones who've been with her through thick and thin and tell her to shove when she gets too out of hand. Elizabeth also has a few friends she calls 'follow alongs.' The kids she keeps around simply because they need friends even more than she does and will do anything she asks. We all know the kind. They follow the "big guy" around because it makes them feel like somebody and they'd do anything just to get recognition from the "big guy."
[ History: ] It's quite possible Elizabeth's siblings are correct in assuming their father is not hers. Both parents have a past of being unfaithful, though no one is willing to admit the possibility that Elizabeth's real father lives overseas, or even in a world they had never known existed. Her parents simply wish to put anything to do with the matter in their past and continue working on their marriage. Which means spending as little time together as possible.
Always worried about being on the verge of poverty, and also their way of preventing the past to reoccur, her parents have become workaholics to keep their middle class income. This means the kids are left to fend for themselves. The kids do care for each other, but their way of showing it is through constant teasing, bullying, and fighting (remember "Malcom in the Middle"?). None of the four kids gets teased any more than the next, but Elizabeth doesn't seem to be faring well as she approaches that awkward stage when one believes the world is against her.
Nor did it help when she received her letter to Hogwarts. It really did explain alot. Like the time Elizabeth accidentally blew up the neighbor's apple orchard. It had been the one time she'd heard any sort of praise from her siblings. Of course, they later got upset when she couldn't explain just how she'd done it. Unexpected, though, was the jealousy from her brother and sisters. She never thought it was because they wanted to be able to blow things to smithereens with a simple thought (for, with their limited knowledge of real magic, they thought that was how it worked.) The teasing simply stopped for a few days. It was nice to get a reprieve, but it was also unsettling to have her family be so nice. How hard it was to leave when, as she approached the time to leave, that teasing started up again. Odd to be thankful ones siblings were bullying you. But that's just how Elizabeth's family is.
[ Special talents/knacks : ] special talents...Not many, really. Elizabeth barely keeps an average grade, but we'll see how well that stands up without her 'follow alongs.'
[Role Playing Example:]
Elizabeth tugged uncomfortably at her necktie. What did they think she was? A bloody boy? But then, she might as well be one. Nothing else about her gave away the idea that she might be female.
"Ugly, bucktoothed..." the girl muttered, scowling at the reflection in the mirror. Her eyes shifted to movement just to the right of her. Whirling around, the girl threw her hands up in fists and narrowed her eyes even further.
"What're you looking at?" Elizabeth barked, bearing down on the figure. If there was one thing she couldn't stand, it was having someone stare at her. And she would let them know just what she'd do to them if they dared do it again.
