Pumpkin... One of the nicest foods that was available at Hogwarts, yet probably the most dreaded to make a soup out of. Well, this was according to the young and striving Matty Wentworth, who was now trying to make some soup out of it. As the day was cold, and she had nothing better to do, the girl had headed into the kitchen for something to do. As she had come in, about 7 House Elf's swamped her, shoving plates of food at her figure. "No no guy, I'm here to make something." she smiled before taking a chop chip cookie of one plate, and ushering the elf's off to doing their jobs.
Walking around, she picked up a small but ripe pumpkin, some potato's, some onions and a bit of garlic, giving all the ingredient to a elf that was following her around. Placing herself at a bench, she got out the pots and pans she needed, before cutting up the pumpkin. Since her dad owned a restaurant, Matty had leaned various ways of cooking lovely meals. With pumpkin soups, you were to cook the pumpkin in a pot to loosen off the skin, then scoop out the flesh inside. So thats what she did. Cutting the sliced carefully, Matty shewed away elf's trying to help her. This might get messy...

Jynx made his way to the kitchens in a really good mood. He was in the mood for something delicious, and where better to find it then in the kitchens of Hogwarts. Walking into the kitchens he smiled as he saw his favorite person shooing the elves away. Smiling he sneaked up behind and said with a grin, “Ya give those guys one inch and you’ll have a five course meal on your hands.” Of course some people might like the fact that they were overly helpful, but if you were in the mood to make something for yourself they could be a real pain. “So what are you baking here? Maybe I can help.”

Matty was in a pretty happy mood, thats why she was making food. Her slices were finished, so she put down the knife, this luckily was just as Jynx came up behind her. A shiver ran down her spine, but she soon recognized the voice. "I think they're the ones inching to make the five course meal." she said turning around and smiling. Wiping her hands on a tea-towel she had on the bench, Matty pulled out her wand and pointed it at the chopping board with pumpkin on it.
Muttering 'Wingardium Leviosa' under her breathe, the chopping board rose, and Matty directed it over to a large pot with boiling water in it. Dumping the pumpkin into it, she returned the board to the bench before saying "I'm making Pumpkin Soup." she grinned a bit before adding "It might get messy, but if you wanna you can help me?" it was always good to spend time with Jynx. He was always there for her.

"Ya probably," Jynx said with a small laugh. He could just see the elves trying to keep to themselves and not rush over and help. It was quite amusing really.
"That sounds good," Jynx said watching as she dumped the pumpkin into the pot. "I would be delighted to help. The mess doesn't scare me." he added with a smile. He didn't mind getting a bit messy, after all he would clean up pretty well in just a couple of minute. Well unless it was a real mess they created, then the elves could take over.

"Sounds good to me." Matty said smiling and moving some vegetables and utensils out of the way to make a place for Jynx to work.
"Now, my dad told me to cook the pumpkin before peeling off the skin, and to throw in some potato's in with it. So we need to chop up the pumpkin, then add the onions and garlic to the entire mix." Her green eyes looked around to the other vegetables, and soon found the potato's. "So do you often cook at home?" Matty asked taking one and peeling off the skin of the potato in front of her. Jynx and Matty hadn't really cooked anything at Christmas when herself and her father had visited, but they had made breakfast the morning before, so really she had no idea on what Jynx was capable to do.

"Um...sometimes," Jynx said with a little grin. The truth was he didn't really cook all that often at home, but he didn't really want to tell Matty that. After all cooking was in her family. Besides he knew he would be able to do anything, and if not he would certainly try to do it anyways. "But I am sure I can cook whatever," he added smiling, "So what do you want me to do? Chop something maybe?"

Matty just smiled. She didn't really care if Jynx hardly cooked at all, in fact the only times when she cooked was when she was home in the school break. "I'm sure you'll cope," Matty said before adding "Yup, here you are, don't slice your fingers off though." she said in a playful tone, handing him the peeled potato. "Just diced, or sliced or whatever is fine." she added smiling and starting to peel another potato.
"So what have you got planned for the school break?" Matty then questioned taking a glance at him.

"I'll try to keep all of my fingers intact," Jynx said with a playful laugh. "I would hate to ruin the soup after all." Chopping was easy enough, so he didn't think that he would have any problem with it. Taking the peeled potatoe he set it down and started cutting it. He thought that he would just go with cutting it into small chunks, and hoped that was good enough.
"I don't know, I was thinking we could get together some time and hang out. But other then that I am not sure at the moment. We usually go for a family trip, but I am not sure where we are going this year," he said looking over in her direction smiling and then turning his attention back to what he was cutting so that he didn't cut his fingers off. "So how about you? Do you have anything planned?"
