"Or, " Nic also offered, "maybe it's like to make old honey look young when they're really like 50. Ya know like them age creams or whatver. Like da fountain of youth or summin?" Nic didn't know if it was to make someone look older or if it could be reversed.

"That's a different potion, isn't it?" Drew asked, figuring that an youth potion would be the opposite of an aging potion and most likely brewed differently. He wasn't too sure about Jade's question but was pretty sure that would be a different potion too.

"I guess you'd have to turn to the Polyjuice if you wanna be younger. Or least that's one way you can be young," Charlie said from her thoughts. Yet again, it wasn't much, but at least she knew that this would be a good lesson. She was starting to take an interest in potions, especially with her new found skill of getting things rightly measured. It must have been a trait from her father who was a great cook.

Lainee smiled. It was a good disccussion a very good discussion indeed. "Let's see 10 points for the eagles for not only answering questions, but helping the understanding of others and 15 points for the snakes for engaging in a SMART conversation that was bound to help others in the class. Since you all are correct and i don't see anything that i must correct you on I will go ahead and start the potion."
Armadillo bile dry ice leeches, knotgrass, fluxweed picked at dark nights sky, boomslang skin
"I must say it's intersting that Charlie brought up poly juice potion. Does anyone see anything about this potion?"
Bring your potion to a full boil. While it's boiling you should be shredding your boomslang into long strips. into you have 10 long strips of boomslang skin. As soon as your water is very hot drop in the knotgrass and note the color. If its a bright color you dropped it in too quickly. Start over. If it's a deep dark color continue with the potion. Take the leeches and cut them, short ways. Stir your potion for 2 minutes clockwise, then 1 minute counter clockwise before dropping in the leeches. Don't dumpt them al in. More sprinkle them a little bit here and there.

"It's got a lot of the same ingredients as this one," Drew piped up. "Polyjuice also uses leeches, knotgrass, fluxweed, and boomslang skin."
How he knew this wasn't really something he needed to share, was it?
"Must be part of the transfiguration part of the potions," he added mostly to himself. He'd save that bit of knowledge for a later time.

He sighed and waited a minute until the water boiled. He sighed again and started to shred the boomslang into long strips. He counted and had ten strips. He saw steam come up from the water so that meant it had to be hot. He then dropped the knotgrass in it. He waited for the color.
"Dark, woohoo!"
He looked at the leeches. "Darnit," he said. He waited until he saw someone else doing the leech thingys.

Lainee smiled at Drew. He wa so smart just like his sister. "Very good 5 points to the eagles." Lainee walked around the class watching everyone work and a few make mistakes. They would learn. Lainee turned her head at a cheer, but said nothing else. If they needed help they'll ask.

As usual, Drew and Hiro worked together {right?}, striping the boomslang while Drew kept an eye on the water. "You know what we need to invent?" he suggested to the other boy. "Something that tells the color out loud." Drew didn't mind being Hiro's eyes during class, but he thought it was kind of a bummer for Hiro. So many potions relied on sight and it wasn't like Hiro would always have a partner.
Actually...
"Hey, Professor J? How's it going to work on the OWLs?" Drew didn't think they'd allow working together and it would really be unfair if it was one of the dang color potions. Maybe they'd have to invent faster than Drew had originally thought.

Lainee didn't understand what the problem was or what the question was. She walked over to Drew and furrowed her brows while looking at his potion which he was doing with Hiro as they always worked together and that was fine. "Uh, do you mean could you and Hiro work together on the OwL's? No. Why?"

"Actually I've talked this over with the headmistress long ago." Hiro said while continuing with the potion. The issue was brought up in an astronomy lesson when Hiro was really feeling the limitation of his disability. She had asked him to stay after the lesson and they had talked over options. "She says she's already sorted it out with the testers."

Jade got out the ingredients and started preparing everything. After about ten minutes, her water still wasn't boiling. In fact, it was still cold! she looked under her culdron. She had forgotten to light a fire under it. She turned bright red and quickly lit a fire, hoping it would boil in time for her to finish the potion.

Lainee walked around and nodded her head. Noting that everything was going on okay. Lainee waved her hand and more instructions arrived
Now you will drop in the boomslang skin and the fluxweed. Turn clockwise for 2 minutes until your potion has turned a deeper shade. So deep some may even think there's nothing in their cauldron. You will add in the bile and turn off your fire. Stir for about 30 seconds. Your potion will start to turn a bright color quickly. Throw in the dry ice. This will speed up the process and stop the potion from burning out. If your potion turns white you have failed. If your potion is a bright color go ahead and stopper it, place your name and house on it, and place it in the holding area on my desk.

Drew stired while Hiro threw in the boomslang skin and the fluxweed. When he saw it was the right color, they added the bile and turned off the heat as directed. "We need gloves for the dry ice," Drew said, looking around for his as he continued stiring.

Jade waited anxiously for the water to heat and as soon as it did, she followed the rest of the directions. But her potion wasn't all that dark. She looked around, wondering how the others were doing and trying to figure out what sh had done wrong. Had she perhaps skipped a step? She reread all the steps carefully.
